Pitifully, he calls her again and again
Brando yelling, "STELLA" from his knees.
Like he ever meant something to her...
Stop groveling like a fool. She was a tease.

She doesn't come from Kansas or Oz
and Sunnybrook Farm is make believe.
Stop shouting her name. For crying out loud.
Shed your tears somewhere else if you grieve.

She left long ago on a streetcar to get away.
It's your fault she's gone. You and your drama.
You killed her desire. That's what she said.
The conflicts you created left her in trauma.

You were the spider who sat down beside her,
the tiny creature that was much too hairy.
You brazenly acted as if you were a king,
but there's nothing about you that's scary.

After all this time, still blubbering for Stella?
You're a weeping wimp and it's pathetic
how you demean yourself time after time.
No one cares because you're not empathetic.

She waved farewell and made your life hell.
So, get off your knobby knees, Marlon.
Alice doesn't live here anymore. She left
and no longer wants to call you, 'Darlin.'

Ciara Cybelle

Her winsome smile belied her secret essence
A temptress and siren
Given to saturnine quintessence

And I a man of placid and calm complexion
Became ever more umbrageous
With each stranger she offered affection

Ciara Cybelle chose to take her chances
Unconcerned by my mood
Continued her frenzied romances

She swooned at my charm
And laughed at my wit
And yet held to another man’s arm

Ciara Cybelle a nymph out of hell
Twisting a man
With her temptress spell

I had to make her understand
She simply had to see
I must be her only man

But Ciara Cybelle laughed instead
Eyes flashing fire
She brazenly said

The likes of me would never know
The deliciousness
Of the charms she would bestow

On other men she found fairer
Then in a rage
I struck in blind error

And carefree Ciara Cybelle
Lay shattered and still
At my feet where she fell

To the dark waters I fed
The alabaster body
Of Ciara Cybelle dead

Now benthic stillness of cimmerian depths
Disturbed by the pale lifeless limbs
Of Ciara Cybelle

Now tumescent and water pruned
The once sempiternal beauty
Forever ruined

Premium MemberTrixie ignores my refusal to write

I won’t write, I tell my muse. I refuse.
She laughs at my won'ts, my cant's and my do’s.
Most know Trixie; she brazenly dictates to me.
She is puling my strings, never letting me be.

I’m serious, I say. She laughs at my plight.
She forces me to stay awake most of the night.
Magnificent poems climb into my head.
Trixie will tell me when I can go to bed.

Premium MemberIt is written

the underworld rumbles and summons
beckoning in groveled whispers
with undertones of shady pretenses

haunted by gods and demons
who brazenly wave their book of souls
tormentors do the dirty work in afterlife

meanwhile here kings and rulers
wealth in pocket pauper in heart
build their towers to climb to heaven

every last of these towers of babylon
will one day come apart at the seams
they’ll disintegrate and fall to dust

greed and hate and malice
feed self-fulfilling prophecies
of wars designed to never end

man’s self-destruction on auto-pilot
will one day rise their corpses from fetid ashes
and lead their crusade into eternal damnation

Premium MemberHeadwinds

Uphill battles are won and lost in the crosswinds
Gusts of defiance brazenly slap across the terrain
If a path is forged it must be carved with a machete
Steppingstones nothing but laughable afterthought
This must be faced with uncharacteristic courage

The wind howls a chorus of unseen dissent
Blistered hands carve will from the wild
The earth unyielding resists with taunts
Testing the weight of every step’s intention

No storm can drown a relentless heart
No vines can choke a mindset on ascent
Step by step against the crush of fate
The summit waits for nobody so I climb

Premium Memberreligious fundamentalists

they lurk everywhere
religious fundamentalists
preying upon the unwary
stalking, seeking to convert
anyone they can get hold of

for them it is a do or die mission
attempting to thrust their faith
upon innocent bystanders passing by
interfering with God-bestowed free will
pursuing their ‘cause’ brazenly in public

what drives them to do this we wonder
as they go around waving posters
pictures, symbols, quotes from scriptures
but the truth of the matter really is
they have not seen God face to face

we apologise if we sound judgmental
but had the religious fundamentalists seen God
they would have realised the simple truth
that He is formless living light and agape love
and we likewise are as He, made in His image

when will the blind stop leading the blind?

Premium MemberClad in Winter

Whirling flakes of fantasy softly tango,
cheek to cheek, or modestly waltzing strangers.
Blizzard whiteout buffaloes moon and starlight,
   cloaking the lovers.

Frozen fountain, brazenly fetching, catching
coins of ice, those stupefied flattened pennies.
Queen of snow and fairies do bluster shavings.
   Breathless the statue.

Snowmen slurry tottering, wayward listing.
Melting, baring, chattering cherub crystals.
Water flowing merrily whistles sport at
   winter’s undressing.

Premium Memberanother abcedarian for fun

all automatic alligators arrive arrogantly
barely behave beautifully but brazenly
carousing with creepy cruddy crocodiles
desperately denying despicable wiles
effectively expediting expediency
forever forsaking fruit flies who flee
glaring at grazing gritty grouses
hijacking horrific herbivore’s handy houses
igniting ingenious iguanas in I-o-Way
jubilantly joining jerky jaguars along the way
kibitzing kinesthetic killers from Zion
lollygagging like lively luxurious mountain lions
marvelously marking multitude of mini monkeys
notoriously noting nefarious nodules of displease
ostentatiously opening overt outages in Oregon
providing panda putrid prey Paul just spit on
quarrelsome quicksand quail
rapidly reading registered mail
saying sassing sentences swiftly
turning terrific tarantulas toenails thickly
utilizing underwater undercurrents down under
verifying valid villans' voluptuous plunder
with wild willingness and witchy wonder
‘xacting ‘xactly ‘xtreme ‘xestentialism supreme
yelling youngster’s yips on front of the queen
zinging zealous zealots into zebras galore
end of this abcedarian poem, there is no more.

Premium MemberRespect Demanded

     The President is the Commander-in-Chief
        of every US military force
which makes it a very important office, of course

The person who holds it must command
        respect from the troops
if esprit de corps is not to droop

His face should be inscrutable to
        our many foes
     never revealing whatever he knows…

     Someone who giggles and laughs
        at inappropriate times
     brazenly this country undermines

Babel

Do you believe in faith,
enough to have faith in your belief?
Do you know enough to know
that you do not know sufficient?

Do you listen or merely talk?
Are there really several radios on the table -
all saying different things?
Like you, from Babel?

Do you wish they would listen
and not babble brashly, brazenly?
You’re one of a couple?
Does the other one merely hear you?

Do you close your ears
but open your mouth?
A confusion of voices?
What a discombobulation!

Premium MemberMountebank

A dispenser of dishonest vice, a peddler of blatant lies,
In his unscrupulous realms, nobility of truth sadly dies,
Where righteous vibes of morality and decency agonize;
Where benevolence cries, pensive in verity’s demise.

Masked in aura of dubious eyes, spurious is his smile,
Hiding deceptions of his charismatic, charlatan style;
Counterfeit is the profile sporting thrill of knavish devise,
Proffering affectionate gile, spinning webs of disguise.

Empowering hypnotism of an alluring, charming face,
Weaving traps of fanciful tales his adventures chase,
Mesmerizing them; seeking the disheartened as prey,
Bestowing faux lexicons of praise, that brazenly betray.

Broken pledges and vows, now bawl from his burial site,
Deep within remorseful soul, churning anguished fright,
Awakening graveyard of victims in nightmarish night,
Burning effigies of dreams destroyed, feelings contrite.

Be on guard for imposters vying lure of sensual glance,
Beware of tenders, beckoning love, enticing romance,
Beware of mountebank, a swindler~ thievery is his art;
Dedicated lifelong, to mission of stealing innocent heart.

Premium MemberSock It To Me Spring

O breezy Spring leaves,
Show-offs of stupendous beauty.
Your breathtaking heights
and swooning low brights,
Puffy delights
As you bud and sway.
You delightfully chill me
Goosebumps on arms
and brace.
Fingertips are nearly blue,
brazenly so on this Spring-a-ling day.
An open space,
front door unhinged,
ready to be sanded and stained.
I’ll swing a jacket
about my shoulders
and sock up my feet.
Sock it to me, Spring!
I will spring into action
that is if
I can retract my wiggly fingers
back from the letters
leaping onto white space.
Reminds me of the swoosh of beach -
its tremendous peaks.
Not a damaging Spring
      but quite mischievous!

Premium MemberFather and Sun, Again

When the door's open, like a lady in waiting I tip my hat as she beamingly frets.
As I glimpse into the way she brings, the breath of Spring fills my very being.
I go to explore what she has in store, brazenly shone blooms, 'tis I to pluck 'um?
Away I stepped, said, "None of that, it's me-neighbor's, tho' does owe favors."
So I waltz away with my boutonnière, glide gleaming, and kept on dreaming,
Of time to be, in eternity, with a son I adore, went to war and saw no more.
I realized that darkness befell my eyes, a Sun over here had now disappeared,
People are saying it's a solar eclipse and that the Sun no longer can glimpse ...
Like my son, Sun too is gone, but Sun will be back, thank God for that.
Sun owes me a day of days, do hope that Sun doesn't keep her father waiting.

Premium MemberDotty Doggy Duo

Dotty doggy duo, daily derring-do,
descending leaves decorating yard,
Beau-black as coal,
brown-eyed batty Gus,
barking brazenly, bounding,
both bonkers?
a boisterous, "You betcha!"

Kings of calamity-
canines of chaos,
squirrels scurry for sweet sanity,
scolding silver September
acorn gatherers,
sedulously seeking sedatives!

Tidal Politics

Swing to the left
Swing to the right
The usual debacle
On election night

Steady the ship!
And hold on tight
As the boat careers
From left to right

It doesn't matter
Who wins the vote
They all are sharks
Circling the boat

Whether red or blue
They play the game
Of whale sized lies
And avoiding blame

One side comes in
The other goes out...
It's the ebb and flow
Of political clout

Brazenly presenting
As competent leaders
But in truth .....
They're bottom feeders
