Get Off Your Knees, Marlon

Pitifully, he calls her again and again
Brando yelling, "STELLA" from his knees.
Like he ever meant something to her...
Stop groveling like a fool. She was a tease.

She doesn't come from Kansas or Oz
and Sunnybrook Farm is make believe.
Stop shouting her name. For crying out loud.
Shed your tears somewhere else if you grieve.

She left long ago on a streetcar to get away.
It's your fault she's gone. You and your drama.
You killed her desire. That's what she said.
The conflicts you created left her in trauma.

You were the spider who sat down beside her,
the tiny creature that was much too hairy.
You brazenly acted as if you were a king,
but there's nothing about you that's scary.

After all this time, still blubbering for Stella?
You're a weeping wimp and it's pathetic
how you demean yourself time after time.
No one cares because you're not empathetic.

She waved farewell and made your life hell.
So, get off your knobby knees, Marlon.
Alice doesn't live here anymore. She left
and no longer wants to call you, 'Darlin.'

Lin, obsession is a rather remarkable trait some of us have. We hope to learn we don't control other people, and we hope they also know they don't control us. Wait, what's this wire attached to my head? Smiles!!

Some will keep trying to gain submission but it's a flaw in their character. LOL you were in a playful mood when writing this batch of comments. Smiling.

We reap what we sow. Marlon, the lesson is, learn, but go. On with your life, and let Stella be -- Brilliant write. Very talented. Maybe Marlon just did it for the money? As you say, in retrospect, it is pathetically funny.

lol Joe. I'm pleased that you found the humor I intended to emulate. Marlon grew a pair in The Godfather. Thanks so much for your 'in tune' remarks. ;-)

That scene in which he screams for her is haunting. Thanks, Tania.

I love this brutal poem that has a reference to a movie. I think there is an insider story that I missed. I've always liked poets that tell it like it is, and you are one of them. Please continue with this great style.

Hi Hilda. There are some who choose to see innuendos in some of my poems. Reader’s choice that I can’t control nor would I ever try. I appreciate your support for telling it like I see it. ;-)
