0215 Wide Awake

Seeing the world fall
the people failing one another
I find solace in knowing
that even through life
we are more than chemical reactions.

Screaming through 3/8 inches
of the human skull,
longing for the rains-
over the empty manor,
Followed only by a sickening tapping.

How cursed is thought...

Wide Awake

They are called windows into the soul
        Open them wide and notice
                 How you shine
                       Within
                        Love
                       Grows
                Hidden gardens
      Presenting the fullness of life
If you will pay close enough attention

Wide Awake

Alone, isolated in the dark,
In fear and tears she was led.

To a place of night, so stark,
Her innocence taken, she bled.

She'd set out so independent,
So stubborn, to make it on her own.

A trust broken, a love bent,
The love that was never shown.

Now, alone, she cries and weeps,
For the time so wasted and past.

And in the night she does not sleep,
How did the time pass so very fast?

Maybe if I'd told her that I missed her,
If I could have put down my pride,

And admitted my love for my sister,
Maybe if I had just tried.

Wide Awake Ii

Insomnia isn't what this is...body feels the antithesis
too many synapses tap dancing late
A recital of thoughts that wont disapate
Body idle despite the cranium cartwheels--The heart feels ..
much like a gerbil wheel spinning
              tireless night, patience is thinning
                   I
In the dark, there's no repression for forced out thought
Losing ten counts in bruising mind bouts
No preoccupation to mask this.... basque this in brighter shine
this is the jail-cell of night...
With my past trangressions in sight, I lay here reflecting
REM rejecting...as if everything's not alright

Lunar-revelation is my one-on-none time....
   Nights like these
        make me spiteful
to morning birds that wake me

Clattering coins
forcefully flung
inside a fragmented glass jar,

doleful howls full of misery, woe
nocturnal creatures arise,

rapid rotations,
continual tornados

tedious echos beneath
a derelict railway tunnel,

nefarious lightning
strikes the thunder,

rolling immensely enraged
she roars fighter jets in fury,

disturbed bees, swarming their hive
stalking, terrorising, pestering

a solo stone plunges
down a bottomless well,

belligerent twangs
upon a jilted ukulele,

these were her hunger pangs,
which fed her insomnia at night.

Wide Awake

She called out in a loud voice in what was long since then
Remembering back to that choice, what would have been
For now she was all alone with no place to hide that pain
Once the Light had shone, well, feelings are hard to feign

Falling down to her knees, her hands covering her face
She called out her pleas in so asking God for His Grace
And as her tears poured, darkness covering her heart
Feeling so unassured, this being the best place to start

When something came along, a feeling she never had
The feeling of being wrong, but not that she was bad
Clearly seeing her mistake the Lord drawing her near
A soul now wide awake as His Love became so clear

Everyone of us will fall and this being on a daily basis
For life is a very tough haul as you can vouch for this
That is why Jesus had came atoning for every inequity
But by not knowing His Name nor can you ever be free

Psalms 27:8 (KJV)
“When thou saidst, Seek ye my face;
my heart said unto thee,
Thy face, LORD, will I seek.”

You find what you seek.

Wide Awake

wide awake, wide alive
but i feel so dead inside
 cant shake this feeling
i did alright, i did ok
 breezed through the
 rest of my day

 all i have is night
 all night
 darkness squeezed tight
 every night is a fight
 the war is raging

 come to me
 belive in me
 hold me close now
 rescue me
 free me
don't ever let me go now

 i've been ok
 i've been alright
the dawn is almost in sight
 i look to you
 you are my redeemer

Wide Awake

It isn’t a dream when you feel wide awake
There’s only so much of this world I can take
It pulses through my veins, I’m starting to shake
Like a dream and a nightmare, but I’m wide awake
Not a dream nor a nightmare, cause I’m wide awake

Wide Awake -A Hero's Departure

Wide Awake (A Hero's Departure)

I awoke from a dream, a childlike slumber
Perfectly still, as to not let the vision
slip
Within the eyes of a child, a hero was
born
Safe, soft, a beautiful gift
But in moments of deepest despair,
No hero remained, or had existed
at all
(it would seem)
Promises of love fall flat
behind the facades, the fear of fears,
the listless gleam
From the heart of a woman, a hero
was torn
Beautiful eyes, wide awake
Hope of hopes, forlorn

Sleeping Wide Awake

Time does not
Have to pass through the hands
But through absorbent eyes
Extending hours
With their gaze
Would the hands, the eyes,
The gaze exist
If it weren't for
The beholder?
I am real as I can take
I'm sleeping wide awake

Wide Awake At Two Plus Hours After Midnight

Wide Awake At Two Plus Hours After Midnight...
(actually, now at present time juiced
well nigh high noon same day)

On this January nineteenth
tooth thousand and nineteen
dogged by an earlier notion
searching soul to glean,
(while at Collegeville Diner)
above place previously wrought
poem hammered from this peon
expounded possibly seen,

asper belated birthday
outing now I mean
to expound upon nagging, yet keen
existential question, sans what purpose
validates yours truly within skien
of terrestrial webbed wide world,
no...no...no not
simply pocketing green

backs (banknotes, legal,
tender, money, et cetera), but now bean
older, and displeasing lee not so lean
when just a slip (pre) youth decades ago
yea, that would be
when I hapt tubby a teen
with nary a concern,

nope not even to preen
myself much to the dismay
of my late mother, nay
no idea why lackadaisical, illogical,
and antithetical bee hay
vee yore prevailed, but more to the point
rarely when young and naive did stray
thoughts besiege my mind,

that LX vintage sketchy,
shady, and seedy gray
area bothered concerning,
hounding, pestering and fill lay
mignon noggin ready toboggan
any price you say
for this staged coached blarney
finding this mortal questioning... ray

zing meaning, purpose,
and underlying importance, gestalt, design...
of life more so today
meaning since recent past
also taking stock of
accomplishments from way
back, and feeling stymied okay
at a loss to delineate

any rhyme or reason
to shout hip...hip hooray
quite the contrary, which following
admission might appear cray zee,
but aye decry barely
living capped off with oy vey!

I'M Wide Awake, the Dreams Are Gone (Part 1)

I woke from a dream the other day
To find the memories that had run
To faded images and distorted sounds
Of what was the lingering sensation
Of a blissful oblivion

I woke from a dream the other day
The monotone greys that filled the air
And notes that sounded flat as they rang out
Made me long for that one sensation
Of a blissful oblivion

I woke from a dream again today
Clinging to the one memory that
Had lasted as the rest faded from my eyes
A perfect picture of your face entwined
With such a beautiful grace

I woke from a dream again today
the images had faded, turned to
nothing as the reality had brought me crashing
back to earth with nothing but my mattress
and pillow to break my fall

Hope (I'M Wide Awake, the Dreams Are Gone Part 2)

We haven’t got long the daylight is coming
Creeping through the curtains disturbing this sleep
The morning has broken this dream turns to ashes
You smile it fades like an old photograph
But worry not lover for ill be back soon
When night has fallen by the light of the moon
But before this is over just one final hope
That when I awake ill see you
Someday soon

Dreaming Wide Awake

Dreaming wide awake
.by Heather Jacobs on Monday, 27 June 2011 at 12:24.Dreaming Wide Awake

She was dreaming wide awake and she had broken through the barriers to her soul,

She was walking on a tightrope and there were no nets around to break her fall,

She was actress, singer, dancer, poet and was spinning webs of pictures in my mind,

She was dreaming wide awake and the creations of her dreams had come alive.

She was dreaming wide awake I was enchanted by her voice and by her smile,

Her overflowing words were flying much to fast I felt just like a child,

She would sit and stare at me and touch my face as though that she were blind,

She was dreaming wide awake and the artist in me understood her kind.

I watched her very carefully while she was spinning strange and precious lies,

She often did not answer but held my hand and looked into my eyes,

She had a way of being that I never had and never could have been,

I was a willing piece of paper and was receiving my most beautiful imprint.

She was dreaming wide awake I was enchanted by her voice and by her smile,

Her overflowing words were flying much to fast I felt just like a child,

She would sit and stare at me and touch my face as though that she were blind,

She was dreaming wide awake and the artist in me understood her kind.
