Best Ward Poems
Cock got virgin spouse
they spent nice times together
she sang melodies to boyfriend
but soon she was pregnant
labor moment came with pains
Cock went to maternity ward
asking for space to labor the child
but one child it was not
One, two, three, many children
girlfriend gave birth
midwives were tired, not Cock
eyes- babies did not have
mouth- babies did not have
nose babies did not have
body- babies did not have
only round oval they were
But cock was not moved
he consoled spouse on and on
“21 days we shall be happy”
It happened; beautiful babies
came from manger
hail-storm gathered, kite licked its lips
and mongoose wagged its tail
the Cock never worried
he kept on scouting and crowing
alerting all that he was super power

You are an enigma
handcuffed to the claims of stagnant love.
Why do you not respond
to baffled me?
I stare oft into your eyes...
Am offered a light-filtering screen
across a well!
Your ways are stifling me...
I am not a mind reader.
Or yet you tease a tease.
Come Jennifer,
show me your lilting dreams.

Lyric
Nurturing poets to produce.
My motivational, poetical writing, spoken wordress muse.
In leading me to the speak easy cafe site.
To cause me initiating rites to write.
I am tattooing you.
These lines of poetry view.
Her medicine- just write- she administers like a poetic prescription
A writers treatment for bloc- no pre, nor post, just non existing that's her description
For tempting and hooking me back to my addiction.
Surprise! tattooeterized your name in this rendition.
U indelible watch within the ink.
A grateful gratitude laid you in this piece.
Cocked a pen - sprayed you like i shot a glock.
Your names bleeding- piercing lines-so i unlock this puzzling poetic tattoo thanking you.

How does it feel to be confined to a bed
Alone in a psych ward with the voices in your head
Your actions done and now you're here
How does it feel to be laying here
The lives you've destroyed but still deny
You don't fool me; An eye for an eye
Karma has a way of coming back around
Now it's your turn and you've been found
Losing the battle; your little one lost
They protect her from you at all costs
The State came in and took her away
With you no more; not allowed to stay
Your home and job is a thing of the past
Your lying and deceit took them at last
Your family no longer behind your front door
The life you had is no more
You dug your own grave all on your own
help from no one; you did it alone
What goes around comes around they say
And karma made sure; you're beginning to pay

World Justice: Ward, Jennifer
2010
W to the J, J to the W
Voice crackle to the sound of unfairness
Question your place within the white world of today
Your community privileges
With pen in hand, contemplates to write the notes of despairs
W to the J, J to the W
Concern by the brothers and sisters of yesterday, today and tomorrow
Voice crackle to the sight of classicism, sexism, racism
Ism to the reason of wrongness
Lift your sword, write the notes of desolations
W to the J, J to the W
Yesterday, today and tomorrow ******** shut down
Voice crackle to the vocalism of the nonsense, ignorance
Stand against the personal struggles, write the notes of accomplishments
W to the J, J to the W
Open your voice
Let it sing with the rhythm of the goddesses
Athena, the goddess of war will be by your side
So, lift your sword
Write the notes of struggle, despair and resilience
Vocalize for the brothers and sisters of yesterday, today and tomorrow
Shout
Holler
Scream
And your sword never let go

Ode
Hideous cancer chisels away
With strange tragic sculpturing
And exposes dark flaws
heavy and black:
Inoperable, they say.
Ever present cigarette
Tenaciously supported
By shaking hand
and unfaltering need
Moved toward fried death
As wrenching cough spewed
Fire in weakened lungs.
A machine by the bed
Connected to tubes,
She wavers between
Sleep and reality
Fighting to hear
The voices around her.

Blank verse
Cavernous warehouse filled to the rafters
With all of my memories; forgotten laughter
Boxes unmarked, heavily taped, a dusty cluttered mess
Haphazard narrow walkways disappear into the dark abyss
Before I came to this wretched place…
Horrid, medicinal, cloying reek meant only to replace
The stench of slowing dying, tormented oblivious souls
With nothing left but ruined bodies growing old
Before I was connected to every nuance of life and time
Quick to answer, practiced whit, and wisdom so sublime
Then my faculties were stolen; no longer able to connect
With simple tasks and simpler thoughts; only distant regret
Yet helpless to light the fires of what I needed most
With, you’ll have to forgive me…all of these old ghosts
If only time is kind and my few lucid moments don’t betray
I have some business to attend to before I go away
Within this darkened warehouse I search with rheumy eyes
For the precious engraved golden tin; inside it holds my prize:
His well-worn wrinkled picture, for years it’s been misplaced
Finally I see the golden tin amidst the gloom of this space
As I reach to gently cradle his memory within my gnarled hands
Unkempt hairs stick to my face in tangled matted strands
I trace his lovely youthful face, his precious loving grin
Without him I have been so lost; a prisoner within
The present seems so oppressive
Without the will to live
My body quickly failing, but now I fear no more
For I have found a fragment of the girl I was before
And at the very end, fate has been so kind
To replace his memory within my heart and fragile broken mind
Now I will go to meet my beloved and leave this frail place
To gain his presence once again and behold his lovely face
All of this confusion and despair to ever leave behind
And I will meet him at the gate; his wonderful grin to match in kind.

Pain
gloomy
in their eyes
i saw and felt.
Bed one, two and more
men, women in white gowns
coming to and fro, caring.
In bed seven i saw, Daisy
gorgeous and alive, you can't expect
she'd be here needing a neurosurgeon.

stigma shadows the word
crown ward
foster care
billions made every year
with stolen children
profits are near
prejudice blinds your eyes
children taken every day
here
and near
parents love them
fight to keep
children lost
taken in your sleep
courts take them
one foster home
becomes the tenth
love is lost
business grows
money is made
on broken homes
eighteenth birthday
comes
child tossed
new ones
to find
and take away

Palm Sunday 2016_ I AM SWAYED
Dressed in white and black with wide smiling beams;
Oh! how I miss 2015, its palm and serenity_
2016! you see four corners of the colourful room
Childrens' ward is where thou shall be
Frowning at the challenges coming my way
Acceptance of ones life_is easy to say_
then peace shall come your way_
One year is not enough for acceptance to come
Fallen trunks, brown branches of Winstons' wrath
School building standing tall_seems lost
Even though activities going on
Centrifugal wind force waking up the soul
Which junction have I been blown?
Trudging the muddy road with stones
Tripping and falling, standing up seems to be far away
Even though carrying my cross used to be my motto_I AM SWAYED.

I know a place that we can go
to escape this dreary prison
The floor right there
secures the stairs
that lead up to the room that's hidden
While walking down don't turn around
the dark can find your fears
The sounds you make
can truly take
the place of your worst Nightmares
So bring a light and hold on tight
don't stray from where your headed
There's many rooms
doors of doom
and a path that leads to heaven
So listen close to the wooden ghost
that stands at the top and glares
He'll let you in
with a grin
then point but please don't stare
He's the nervous type not real bright
still willing to point the way
So walk straight down
then turn around
make sure the dark is kept at bay
Once you find the words that rhyme
a door should open after
So walk right in
let us begin
the journey to a greener pasture
I bet you thought you were close
to the end of your twisted stay
Truth be told
you can never go
this is your home till the end of days
Find the room that's made of balloons
and snuggle up under your blanket
Never try
to leave at night
or the beast will feed on your carcass
Now you've been told what you already know
about your wonderful vacation
So take the drugs
they give with love
so we can leave this dreary prison

Trotter's words are his deeds
girding the Earth
in great magnetic lines
of universal intent.
In Ward's ritually upraised palm
we see the symbol Coriolis
south draining left
north draining right
Into the realm of Neptune
via the cisterns of Rome
down the ancient river Po
to wicked storms at sea
Into vortices the poet's passport
falls as a man overboard
all its pages torn
one by one.
