Best Warble Poems

Premium Member Oh, Autumn

Oh, splendorous, spectacular, resplendent autumn!

Boldly you dye cypress ~ flaunting ochre, cinnamon,
Yellowing sugar-maple, glazing tangerine emotions,

As scarlet winds warble in accents of majestic aspens,
Responding in purple whispers, tupelo leaves flutter

Reminiscing in revelries evoked by red-oak crimson
Lingering in blazing meadows, enchanting red maple.

Oh, autumn! fly me there, into depths of the season,
Frolicking upon gamboge hills, wrap me in your vision,

Tour with me dazzling terrains of flamboyant foliage
Composing deep pleasure in brilliant changing colors,

Hang your portrait upon cobalt cliffs of ruby horizon
Painting blushing hearts in amber hints of setting sun,

Mindful still of wistful shudders quivering barren trees
And unsung withering yearnings of falling golden leaves,

Aspiring blossoming kisses--on lips of flowering spring.

His scarlet head droops
towards his soulless emerald chest.
Perched upon a fruitless branch,
his spiritless eyes stare
at the emptiness of freedom.

Above, streaks of ruby hints
flow among coral flamingo shades,
as golden streaks swim through
crystallised kaleidoscopic skies -
but he feels no enthusiasm to fly.

What he thought would set him free,
has left his heart a companion-less hostage.
A lovebird without a purpose,
he is unable to warble a melody,
nor whistle for the love he left behind.

Raindrops splash his forlorn feathers,
he is too scared stiff to spread his wings.
His heart thumps like thunder,
as flashbacks of sitting, singing and locking beaks,
with feasts of berries, apples and seeds,
are regretful reminders of his misjudgement.

As he falls,
his last thoughts -

maybe freedom is not all that it seems..

Notes of Life

"In my fragile little ship, I sail, sail
In the tempestuous sea of life
Dodging life's pressures, to doldrums outlast"~ by poet

Breathing in and out the notes of life,
from first cry to last sigh, you sing
you sing.... unbeknownst
unbeknownst to you as to
what tunes and notes of life
you will be singing..

but you keep singing... taking cues
taking cues from the
rhythm of the twirl of time.

As you warble to the ticking of time
sometimes...
a melody is created
and the moment becomes lovely -
when your hum is harmonious to
the rhythm, tempo, and dynamics of life.

Listening to that melody - so sweet,
buds of love and peace bloom straightaway
in vibrant colours
to savour and celebrate
the beautiful moment:
a moment as beautiful
as the sweet smile of a child
and as peaceful as the
stillness of a meditation hall.

At times, your voice cracks
you sing outside the range
hitting the wrong note...

and.........oh........
you slip down the stairs
the last step extending down to
the hassles and hard times of life...

like a banana peel
in an already slippery road,
like a dust in the eye
that blurs your vision,
like that of a Wordle game
that leaves you totally clueless.

Such wrong notes
in your song of life
leave you in dismay

like a torn page in a book:

you get dejected, dispirited, and disheartened

and a confused state of mind follows.

But you know you should not stop
you need to ignore the wrong note you struck

not a wince, blink or a pause..

you have to just move

on and on...

and get your mojo back
to continue carolling
the rest of your notes of life
in accordance to the
rhythm of time...

Poem Of The Day on 02/24/2022

Aw My Feathered Friends

This is my humble tribute to our dear Soup member Constance La France, using some of her poem titles. This is, again, inspired by the "Title Wave" contest that was sponsored by our Soup member Richard Lamoureux last year. Thank you Richard Lamoureux for the inspiration and thank you dear Constance for the wonderful titles in pages and pages of poems you had contributed to Soup and I enjoyed writing this. I wish that I/we find time to read more of the beautiful inspiring poems of Constance, that she has contributed to Soup. (Below, the titles I have used for this tribute for Constance are in quotes. I have not capitalized the words within the titles as they were.)

"In my dreamy spring garden",
I often hear the "melody of dawn".
"The birds call me" as they know
how much I revel in listening to their songs.
When I close my eyes, at times, I hear
"the fluttering feather" of birds and I feel
they wish to chit-chat with me.

"Wandering in nature" in my dreamy garden
"where memories linger"
I see the "sunrise, gold and yellow":
a "breathtaking" view indeed.
"In meadows of sun", I see
a beautiful "hummingbird"
rapidly "fluttering" his translucent wings
"oh! sweet hummer".
As "the beauty of birds" enthrall me,
in a sweet corner of a tree branch,
two "birds in love" were preening each other
"oh! happy spring".

The fine "tapestry of nature"
as seen in my enchanting garden
invites all kinds of birds
with bright colourful "feathers".
My garden is a safe haven for birds
"where the bluebirds sing".
My soul is soothed by the sweet song of "nightingale".

"A bird of green is singing",
Aw! what a melody -
"Oh, the echo of birds chirping" and
the warble of "the bird vireo"
bring harmony here to stay:
"A gang of sparrows"
are seen "flying in the sky"
"oh! how heavenly"
now, "I would like to fly away", along with them!

Nightingale, the full moon rises
sing me from the Sassafras:
mock the sounds of motors passing,
trill sweet of the small brook's flow,
warble out a troubadour's tale,
call my trembling dear to me.

Premium Member Whose Memories Are These

Whose voices, whose memories are these
That warble in trees, exalting my breeze
Applauding the daybreak's cerulean grin
Where amber ocher designs are floating in

Is that your echo from the cobalt blue sky
Wondering aloud about dawn's tepid sigh
As the morning evoked destiny's knowhow
And birdsongs lauded the blessings of now

When rays of romance in day's golden start
Painted my vistas, charming your heart
A smile you adorned on the saddles of arc
Reminiscent of the past, igniting my spark

I recognize the appeal your passions reveal
In intimate presence that meadows feel--
From way back when in allure of moonlight
Sensuous lips we kissed of an indelible night

Though it was love, it was never expressed
And those feelings afire never got blessed
So they arise to voice what could have been
Augmenting the dialogue of battles within

Premium Member Lonely Bard

A lonely bard can paint and write more songs,
Which birds loftily warble all day long,
Every note taps the heart of each flower,
Sprinkles dew drops while silent wind meanders.

Her ballad - a gem of all creations,
A home, hollowed not with admiration,
Chasm within draws perfect harmony
For stars to play a perfect symphony.

With knowledge and love, ink surges so deep,
The feather outshines the wind on its tip,
Lifting up dry leaves lying underneath
Every tale is treasured by golden sheath.

Lonely bard pens the lyrics of our hearts,
Where weary souls can find their road to start.

“I am a lonely bard
I have no song to sing.
This empty ballad is my home.
A feather against the dying wind-
-my only expression.”

-by my dearest sis, Poet Destroyer from her poem, “Umbrella”

This poem is a loving dedication/ homage to my all time greatest & most favourite poet, my loving sis & friend of mine & my number 1 inspiration.

Premium Member Sing Now, All the Birds of the Earth

As soft winds rustle leaves upon forested hills
And fog envelopes depths of verdant valleys
Receiving a missive from auroral emissaries
When the night that dreams of trills and melodies
Awakens the new dawn of ebullient themes
Poised to wish new-day a blessed good-morning,

Let the show begin, with the chorus of robins.

When day cedes to twilight’s orange, rosy skies
Sketching sunset in kaleidoscopic skyscapes
And stars enlighten kingdom of the cosmos
As seductive tunes complement astral ensemble
Serenading a soulmate in lyrics of romance
Enthralled in fantasies fervently longed for,

Let lullaby of heart warble nightingale’s song.

When spring blossoms on tulips and daffodils
And summer devours apples and blueberries
Feasting on bounty of sumptuous grain harvests,
Traversing the seasons north, south, east, west
Where weather’s the best and freedom reigns
Waltzing in ambiance of liberties yearned for,

Let fantasia enunciate repertoire of bird songs--

Sing now, sing aloud, all the birds of this earth
And articulate the splendor of mortal existence,
Lift the song of life, raise cadence to crescendo.

Moon Bridge

The moon so bold seems cold
with a halo of midnight glow
I sit mesmerized as the night grows old.

I bleed still, even after all these years
and I wait again through the night
aching in the depths of my soul
that no other seems to know
the Loneliness that has become my companion.

In the darkness we wait and confide in the other
our deepest fears as memories fade
in and out each season of change
the nostalgia tempers the wars of pain
this tempestuous foe of ours
wails at the gates of midnight
howling the warble of humanities last grace.

How the comfort of minds and hearts
turn from light to deep dark in the face
of eternities long time clock...

I ache with wanting, with need and passion
it is a lie that time heals and wounds scar
each night is fresh like the first
                              when I faced realities shock.

Who can wait with me?
Who can hold this hound at bay?
Who can cherish what little love left in me
             and make the broken whole?

I ache to be loved again as the love that burns
and waits inside of me.
Who can comfort this emptiness and fill the void
that so many leavings have left?

Cherish and love to honor and protect
but who can slay these demons that hold my heart in wrath?
Who will walk the sulfur clouds of hell to save my mind
and deliver my world to the gates of heaven
with life, not death bridging the distance of pain?

I sit and wait at the floor of the moon each night
waiting for that bridge to carry me yonder,
this moon who hangs heavy and ripe with the yearning of my soul
with clouds aglow as if I could sweep them across a canvas
with the brush held in your hand

I rage at her as I wait, but still I wait and weep
as Loneliness and I keep each others company
wishing the clouds of that great moon could truly create
a way to find the lost, a pathway to home, lit by the legacy our love.

Premium Member When God Whispers

When God whispers, the sky turns blue.
Bright flowers broadcast every hue.
Mauve mountains shade green valleys deep
where dog and boy keep frisky sheep.
Brimming rivers run clear and true.

Forests beckon all creatures who
follow the path of bear and shrew.
Where willows arise tall, but weep
	…when God whispers.

Birds relating the miles they flew
keenly warble their points of view
and I within my full heart keep
gratitude for all things I reap
	…when God whispers.

Premium Member Birds of Youth Released

My sweetest cravings, fledglings in a nest,
were held up high; into the air released
by eager hands of mine. A world to test
was mine before youth’s wishing time had ceased.

The birds who have come back to visit me
are well-remembered dreams that have come true.
The pleasant yellow finch; the chickadee
and skylark gave me nothing I should rue.

The cardinal would warble in my ear.
I yearned for him, but he did not stay long.
The bluebird too I hoped to always hear.
She comes and goes. At times I hear her song.

But long forgotten wishes to grow older
are sparrows at my door as life grows colder.

As Morning Spills

How dim the stars when sullen and fading
as songbirds warble, their trills pervading.
When the world still sleeps at dawn's blush,
there's a lyrical melody in the call of a thrush.
I listen with my heart, and most attentive ear
to the harmony of doves. Cooing voices, I hear.

But in such moments, life seems dreadfully dark.
I long for a consoling chorus from a meadowlark.
With wistful memories I am oft' denied sleep.
In loneliness, I sit at my open window and weep,
recalling how we danced in the glow of moonlight.
Now, I mourn for dreams that will never take flight.

My time of love was quilted in layers of years,
and yesterday's memories flow with my tears.
Morning spills: my heart is tempered by sunlight
and though I tossed and turned through the night,
in a restless dream I heard him say, "Do not cry."
In my reverie, it was as if we never said goodbye.

Premium Member Fable of Romance

Oh, my darling, how passionately you whisper to me
Secrets of forbidden love, titillating magical feelings
Mesmerizing romantic night in blossoms of dreams
Beckoning to heavens above to fulfill sweet fantasy
Alluring sensuous desires twinkling in glistening skies
As I feel your vibes, sparkling in your glamorous eyes.

Ah! river’s serene zeal rejoices your sensuous appeal
Rippling exhilaration emanating from tranquil stream
Sensing my arrival in tenor of soft midnight breeze
Rustling shamrock leaves echoing hearts’ tender music
As melodies of doting souls warble from smitten trees
Jubilant in aspirations, mythical fascinations reveal.

Chasing earthly passions in rhythms of ecstatic ballad
Oh, how I, quixotic star, inflame in your cuddling arms
Crooning breaths on sensual lips, answering you call
Satiating night you vied for, till I part at stroke of dawn
Leaving behind part me to forever cheer your heart
Inscribing upon eternal memories, fable of romance.

Vile Smart

Sifting for lamb in a wolves pack
Like searching for a needle in a hay stack
Predator's parameter on a scale of gourmet
Lessening time warble with each revolution
Camouflaged in whiskers, shedding off spotlight
Tossed decision in flaunting sides between jekyll or hyde
When fostering quaint concubine, a mistaken desire
A swollen brook will break across the familiar pier
If silent does not mean it isn't there
Contingently awaiting or frolicking on the devil's mare
How lullaby enunciates at the cradled moment
Decides whether put evil to snooze or become more flagrant
