Premium Member Sailing the Seas In a Pecan Tree

The wind billows out from the seat of his britches
With determined blue eyes, skinned knuckles and knees
he climbs up the rails nailed from old cedar pieces
to the uppermost yoke of an old pecan tree

He is Captain on board, in pretend salty breezes
From his perch in the bird's nest, the world's in his view
A small town boy, who has never seen oceans
sails a fantasy vessel, where his wishes come true

The tall cornstalks stand duty, in the weedy-field waters
He breaks off a branch and a sword fight ensues..
He says "Tally Ho...Land Ahoy!!" to his crew
Dogs are barking below. He must shout out a warning
"There are sharks all around, so his shipmates must heed!"

He is Master Commander, the ruler of nations
He dreams of adventure from his loft in the tree
As he watches the clouds sail across a blue sea
Till his mother calls him in, for his suppertime leave

                              ~
Well, little boys grow, and a childhood will fade
The leaf of the pecan, no longer holds shade
Now a stump of the tree, is all that is left
Yet the memory still thrives, so deep in his breast

When the weight of the world comes tumbling down
He visits this place with the stump in the ground
The rings wrap around him, to take him aboard
To a ship from his childhood, a place he adored

Tonight he will sleep in a bed of contentment
From his bunk he will dream he is sailing the seas
Tomorrow he'll climb up the steps to his vessel
Tomorrow he'll be where the eagles fly free....

Premium Member Song of The Peacock Butterfly No 6: AABB

Assures their breed a place among unknowns,
lest Europe and Asia part of their realms.
Peacock Butterfly, hues-full Inachis,
their uppermost topsides reveal truth bids,
yet undersides are black-like camouflage,
predators amiss, perplexed by mirage,
afears further by fake four eyes on wings,
and hissing sounds. The flower's nectar brings
life spans. They're killed whilst hibernating by
wood mice, and birds like Tit birds when they fly.
Folklore's namesake, Hera's Priestess Io,
eyed by Zeus, held by Hera as a cow.
A year's crawl and sleep, another takes flight,
climbing ivy draws and flowers, delight.

The art of thought is our lovemaking connection,
histories a ladder to hypnotic healing, corrections uninvited
to our planet of puzzling passion
where a man and a woman make maps with crayons borrowed
from the cries of curiosity's cravings,
uncaring of the unwanted,
lawless in the laps of circumstance's tracks,
Homer & Tacitus imploring their heros to hush
as we warm arteries with a potion of Poetry unknown 'till now,

a tempest of truth she is to me,
teasing with pause & prance, with virtue & volatility,
with the caution of a Queen & frivolity of airborne feathers,
I did not ask for her, nor wish her to squeeze my heart,
regardless, I am now selfish, hunting for her hints
aspiring for the apple of her knowledge,
for the seed of her permission in my pulse,
I need her to sweat for my sweetness,
my will to hide abolished in the heat she spreads in spades,
I love my poet girl,
sometimes I am sorry for it, always excited by it,
sorriness skipping like a song wandering for a world with no wastings,
believing in beauty because she breathes,
I would tell God to wait so that I may play a moment more
with my poet girl, exchange another story, build another belief,
to bring our fears one step closer to nowhere,
to walk our eyelashes one centimeter nearer to completion's tear,
having our harvest support Heaven's uppermost tier -

My Valley

The darkness accepts the awakening of a new day over the eastern rim of the valley floor.

The distant highlands sculpted by nature’s wind and ancient ice accept this sun ’s morning’s gift of bright glistening golden crowns along their uppermost edges, as the lower masses blanket themselves in shades of soft blue mist.

Sheared cliffs stand guard as sentries protecting all that lives on the valley floor.
A meadow bounded by an emerald green forest that has given perch to the midnight stars for a thousand of years awaits the first ray of warmth upon its branches where a mountain jay trumpets with joy.

Given this moment of tranquility, my soul returns to its resting place_ concealed by time, laid to rest by my brothers the Miwoks of the Yosemite; my valley for evermore.

Orphan Way of Lifes Perspective

On celebration day visited Orphanage
Wishing to plant smile on orphan lips over sponsored dinner
Surprised, Orphans greeted with warm smile as if family get together
Meet Time catapulting perspective of living with grace

Content faces, bitterness dissolved in sweet acceptance of life
And in contrast my Lifes clock ticking all the time to accumulate
Losing cultural values, gaining ego, hunting equilibrium of fate
Meet raising curiosity to rewind Lifes clock for insight into materialistic strife

Ashamed at life being worse than Orphans, resolved to live with cheer
Since that time smile is uppermost in mind whether on self or others lips
Heart with rein on anger and greed, life blissfully leaping forward in steps
Meet unfolding, parents though best teachers Orphans this TIME more did offer

Who Can

Who Can?

 Paints a Fulani maiden
With creamy calabash hawking 'fura de nunu',
A tall nomad, pole stretches on his long shoulders
Hold in place with hanging fingers like broom,
 Being on a nowhere long way, wave on a transistor;
 A cajole broad face,
 Scowling amongst bushy extended beard;
 A narrow umbrella sombrero
 Tip at right elfish ear,
 Shepherding towering cattle in perpendicular;
Munching down uppermost greens, with heighten horns
 Traveling in lengthen distance,
 Who can?
 Who can?
 Depict heavenly masquerade typhoon by gods;
 Leaping, flying with flashing whips,
The satyr opened dark tunnel throat
 And fangs all coloured with crimson;
Dear deer full of affected blinks,
Innocent mirth on polish promise horns.

Soul's Karmic Journey

From a galaxy a million light years or more

Descends a created soul's birth through the earthly door.

All pathways delineated on life affirming oath

Ego self chosen for spiritual growth.

From babe to child and through manhood.

Pre-destined goals form, as they should.

Life based on love not anger bent,

Why down to earth divine souls are sent

A karmic accumulation of all we have wrought

Each trying to keep uppermost as each thought

Definitive matters and learning curves

To reach perfection is he who serves.

Striving to do more right than wrong

Solar plexus registers and makes us strong

As we approach our own momentous hour

We stand upright and never cower.

An enlightened soul body to be honed

Mightier than it's physical own.

Upon meeting it's earthly demise

A soul disconnects and upwards rise.

Up above earth's firmament ties

To friends and family waiting there

A life and death barrier of infinite care

Spiritual advisors on a council sit

Prescribing over souls who do commit

To a law of perfection guaranteed

Only love aspired souls can reappear,

Amongst celestial realms, eternally for evermore,

No more dogmas, no renewing, no returning through the earthly door.

For all who seek will be fulfilled,

Cossetted in a cocoon of bliss undistilled

Equally established in stature as the ancient Gods of Greece.

Vainglorious shuns to meritorious acclaim

Man transcends and proudly proclaims his name

"Don't throw the baby out with the bath water," please the water was clean after
father and mother and the water was better than ever even after the brother but
when eye took my bath the poor baby was lost they looked in the drain but poor
baby was gone there forever. The moral is kept as a memorial there does not
toss out the clean water.
A coward dies a thousand times but a hero dies but once and a man who lives
much like a DOG is always spit upon but to be a dog still tied to the living is more
to be desired than heroing because the bible says a man who lives is better
than the dead.
We will get married in JUNE no we will marry in JULY or even MAY is better
because the ewe is born the first time in the month of May showers and what’s in
JULY well the CHARLAX was born and bred.
Bread was given out according to status. Workers were given the burnt bottom of
the loaf, the family got the middle and guests got the top or the "upper crust."
The loaf of bread is still the status but now the homeless man gets his loaf
without the burnt part on. Eye am now the uppermost crust.
Making the batter up planting the leaven worth leaving the center for mye family
clan.
Pease and thankzx ewe one and all for peas given do not thaw until the fall from
vine refine the peas and make a handful last for days.
This is why the nursery rhymers’ fortold:
Peas porridge hot, peas’ porridge cold, pea’s porridge in the pot nine days old."
Enter laughing.
It was a sign of wealth that a man could "bring home the bacon." They would sit
around with guests, cut off a bit of pork and "chew the fat." Then they would toss
the ole pigskin.
Play leap pig again. Slop the children. Smoke the hambone and root in the cellar.

The Idiot

For a reason unknown I awoke in the night
While the sun approached the edge as it might
If it wished to awaken this side of the ball
With the slightest of nudges, if any at all.

No. I’d have to say, having given it thought,
That the sun, in its 3AM slumber did not
Even rustle the rooster or shine on the crest
Of the uppermost mountain off to the west.

There still is the question then as to my stirring
That might be explained by a nightmare recurring
Or too many ounces drunk six hours prior
With prudence unpracticed before I retire.

There was no refuting the change in my state
From one unaware to one wide awake
Yet the cause of the premature stirring remains
To be found and yet – something about you explains

Why I sat up in bed as if suddenly shaken
To find that my wallet and watch had been taken
As well as the money I’d hidden away
That I don’t think I mentioned. Oh well. Anyway,

Your leaving last night while I slept was abrupt,
My landlord has keys and I think he’s corrupt,
Insomnia may be a sign of disease -
There you go! They say things happen in threes.

I’ll change all the locks and replace my ID
And I’m confident you’ll be returning to me
For you told me you loved me because I’m so bright.
Guess I’ll never know why I woke in the night.

Evergreen Community

Evergreen Community

Here is a tale to astound and to stretch any viewer’s fantasy and imagination…
Proudly presented by the creative people behind The Twilight Zone productions..

A loving family of a couple and their 2 daughters arrived at a guarded community…
Having sold off everything on a gamble to begin life anew in this new community…

They are out of options on how to bring up their ever rebellious elder teenaged daughter…
Who is heavily tattoed with hair hideously coloured, bubble gum chewing and bad mannered..

This new community is touted to bring about a positive turn to any family in suffering..
There are even beefy security guards to quell any dissenting teenagers from rebelling..

The leader of the commune guides and controls the flock of registered families..
Whenever there are disruptive teenagers, the whole commune meet in harmony…

They then cast their lots in colored beads, black or white, their numbers will decide for free…
Treatment for any troubled and rebellious kid, the family will be assigned a healthy tree…

The leader extols the use and love to be derived from any unmanageable teenaged mutiny…
Once treated, the love and benefits will be immense for the continual health of the commune…

So the plot thickens as our colorful teenaged girl was changed in appearance to conform..
But her rebellious and suspicious character was not a little diminished nor was she reformed…

She realised to her deepening horror the nameless dangers that are in store for kids like her..
Her unflinching love for her younger sister was ever uppermost in her mind, big sister like her..

Witness her confusion, her growing horror as she realises the depths of a sisterly betrayal…
Hear her desperate pleas and screams for help, when her family as one, turned away in denial..

Shades of the Stepford Wives, what a twist to such an incredible tale of imagination…
Little wonder in the Twilight Zone, a viewer will be lost in a world of wonder and astonishment..

Premium Member Comments On Crooked Politicians

Empty promises waft effortlessly through the air
The vacuous bleating of self-important bloviators,
Who claim the best interests of the noble citizenry
Uppermost in their clever, plotting minds who dare

To seek approval from the greater masses at the polls,
While thinly disguising their not-so-quixotic intentions.
Such troublesome breaches in the breastwork
Of liberty, these mischievous self-indulgent trolls

Who feed from the public troughs. Even better,
They claim to do what is right for their constituencies,
And call themselves names like honorable civil servant
Purporting to faithfully execute oaths to the letter

Of the law. I think such is seldom the case, at all, since
They have made for themselves careers of chicanery.
Empty promises -- no more than carefully crafted lies
Cause the skeptical, intelligent folk to wince.

Premium Member Squeeze Those Dangly Things

We all wake up every morning
To a day like no other before
This world is still an experiment
With lots of mysteries to explore

One that's uppermost on peoples' minds
And a question unanswered so far
Is how they get the caramel inside
A Cadbury's Caramilk bar

Or why kamikaze pilots wear helmets
They're going to wind up in a crash
And how much spit does a person produce
Or how long is a hundred yard dash

Why don't nose hairs have to be trimmed
Is there a name for a male ballerina
Can illiterate people eat alphabet soup
How many octaves in an ocarina

Who was the first person to look at a cow
Started squeezing those dangly things
Then drank the stuff that came pouring out
They must have been real ding-a-lings

Did you ever get up and brush your teeth
And realized you're wiggling your bum
Why toasters toast till it's beyond recognition
Stating your name at AA, that's dumb

Pretty sure corn oil is made from corn
Wonder where baby oil is took
Why is it that something you're looking for
Is always in the last place you look

Well that's it for this mangey old geezer
My brain is beginning to ache
If you know the answer to any of these
Then speak up for goodness sakes

China Girl

Myself, a cup:

Resting quietly
in a stained glass cabinet,
I wait for Desire’s approach
upon the uppermost
shelf:

That moment--

when the warm coarseness of His leather
dares to reach,
when the cabinet doors finally
breach;
when He lifts me
to the pursing slope
of pink.

He has not come,
yet content I remain.
(Dust becomes me, I think)

The glass hues rain my reflection
in purple and jade:
I am a shell of ceramic roses;
enamel strength,
delicately made.

I admire the pearly wax and wane
of porcelain,
all the wondrous variety that may be held
Within;

With or without knowing--
the brush of His lips
to my skin.

Her evening gown was studded with opalescent sequins.
She had chosen the dress herself, deadlier than the male.

Why had she brought him there, when doubts could kill?
Why did she choose this drowsy reverie, music enhanced?
A fairyland of opalescent lights and intoxicating perfumes?

A kaleidoscope of prismatic colours that confused the mind.
She felt the frenzy of love and lascivious emotions in her heart.

Doubts overwhelmed her. Did she dress for him or for herself?
Confusion curled into her convulsive mind, an uncontrollable force.
He led her out to the uppermost terrace. The moon had risen,
But its mild illumination was slightly obscured by softly moving
Cirrus of thin, iridescent mist. Time was of essential essence.

He drew her to him and looked steadily into her shimmering eyes.
Lips met, soft and warm. Her heart beat with extreme elation.
She then knew for certain, he belonged to her forever more.

The Meaning of Islam1

? What does 'Islam' mean?
The Arabic word 'Islam' simply means 'submission', and derives from a word meaning 'peace'. In a religious context it means complete submission to the will of God. 'Allah' is the Arabic name for God, which is used by Arab Muslims and Christians alike.
? Why does Islam often seem strange?
Islam may seem exotic or even extreme in the modern world. Perhaps this is because religion does not dominate everyday life in the West today, whereas Muslims have religion always uppermost in their minds, and make no division between secular and sacred. They believe that the Divine Law, the Shari'a, should be taken very seriously.
? Do Islam and Christianity have different origins?
No. Together with Judaism, they go back to the prophet and patriarch Abraham, and their three prophets are directly descended from his sons Muhammad from the eldest, Ishmael, and Moses and Jesus from Isaac. Abraham established the settlement which today is the city of Makkah(Beca), and built the Ka'ba towards which all Muslims turn when they pray.
? What is the Ka'ba?
The Ka'ba is the place of worship in Beca which God commanded Abraham and Ishmael to build over four thousand years ago. The building was constructed of stone on what many believe was the original site of a sanctuary established by Adam. God commanded Abraham to summon all mankind to visit this place, and when pilgrims go there today they say 'At Thy service, O Lord', in response to Abraham's summons.

? Who is Muhammad? (may peace be upon him)
Muhammad, was born in Makkah(Beca) in the year 570, at a time when Christianity was not yet fully established in Europe. Since his father died before his birth, and his mother shortly afterwards, he was raised by his uncle from the respected tribe of Quraysh. As he grew up, he became known for his truthfulness, generosity and sincerity, so that he was sought after for his ability to arbitrate in disputes. The historians describe him as calm and meditative.
Muhammad was of a deeply religious nature, and had long detested the decadence of his society. It became his habit to meditate from time to time in the Cave of Hira near the summit of Jabal al-Nur, the 'Mountain of Light' near Makkah.
