Best Undertake Poems
Fluttering beneath the newly cut
Festive green hollies,
Decked out with heaped drapes
Of freshly fallen snow,
A bold little red breasted Robin,
Busily searching,
Cheerfully hops to and fro.
Darting between the soft, swirling
flakes
Of unique crystalline, driven without
respite,
He alights upon his sheltered
perch
And begins to shrilly trill:
Against the on coming, long
Drawn out Christmas night.
For the drawing darkness is
deepening,
Whilst the harsh wind blows so chill;
And, gently waking
From nonsensical dreaming,
I harken to the old dog Fox,
As, barking, he pads on down
Through the gorse strewn hill.
Suddenly stirred from dozing
Idleness,
As the charred log shifts and
settles in the grate,
I recall with vivid fondness:
Some old memories, good times,
The well meant promises
I did so earnestly to undertake.
Of old acquaintance...
Not forgotten,
And those that were
Or are no more,
Of circumstance and friendship:
And of they
That daily come
To pass through my open door.
But now the flames from the fire,
Dancing in the frosted window
panes,
Are calling for the poker
So I may stoke the blaze again;
For turning my warming back
Upon the locked out winters keep...
I hear that steadfast little Robin
Sing once more -
As I fall back into uncontested sleep!
“Who will not open a gift given with love? Life is a gift, own it, open it and treasure it.”
_ By Poet
God has breathed life into me, and I live.
To make this life as fruitful as I can, I shall strive.
Life is a blessing, a treasure to cherish
I should make it a celebration with every moment to relish
Though life is one of ups and downs with sorrows rife,
With perseverance, I shall try to overcome every strife.
Life is a precious gift we can never forsake.
It is a journey uphill, we must all undertake.
Though life is a roller coaster ride with twists and turns
There is so much in life, each one ardently yearns
Even amid struggles, one can savor the beauty of living
It lies in the art of forgiving and in the joy of giving
In learning new things, in aiming at new heights
In relishing new scenes and in savoring new delights
Every day I take a new step, a new chance,
To improve the quality of my life, its worth enhance.
With a beacon of warmth and a touch of grace,
We can light up lives and bring a smile on many a face.
I wish I could fulfill my purpose, to light up the dark
To make a difference in some lives and leave a mark.
As long as I live, I should see the power within,
To love, to learn, to grow, to strive and to win.

Merely a child yet now she is running the house
So many chores to undertake, her childhood is in tatters
How can she forget the day her dear mama passed away
Her father mourns secretly since he lost his beloved spouse
Precious memories of her in their hearts forever will stay
His darling daughter survived, and nothing else matters

Contest: Angel in Disguise - Isaiah Zerbst
Now is the summer of our discontent
Made glorious opportunity for change
And all the clouds that lower on our land
In the bosom of the media rearranged
While I who have no mind for fair concord
Determine to conspire and prove the fiend
And hate the idle pleasures life affords
Ensure conflict is harvested and gleaned
Plots have I laid, inductions dangerous,
To instigate a man against a brother
Black history I will exploit to thrust
In deadly hate one race upon the other
Soft hearted folks I will manipulate
And play upon their heartstrings for my schemes
Their sympathy emotions shall dictate
Virtue signalling conformant to woke memes
To activate my hidden plan I’ll move
Self righteous useful pawns - give delegation
With peaceful protests (who could not approve?)
Though they shall lead to ruinous conflagration
The people will rise, call for a redeemer
When old regime has made a full contrition
To save the nation, be a chaos healer
I’ll, with reluctance, undertake the mission
Then my control shall be with iron fist
Surveillance of the people I’ll refine
And cohorts of young zealots I’ll enlist
The name: ‘Beloved Leader’ shall be mine

This, I do so, willingly.
Without reservations of the heart.
I offer my shoulder to thy wheel,
my strength, to thus impart.
My voice, I lend to your cause.
Champion, to which you undertake.
My arms, I spread to encompass,
kith and kin, you now care take.
A heart, that beats strong and true.
That has known joy and felt deep weeping.
One, so full of love for you,
I give, unto your keeping.
If there were the need so great,
as to sacrifice completely.
My life, I 'd give, for yours to spare.
This I do, so willingly.

Chronicler of Events and Emotions
As a Poet and as a Writer . . .
I’m a Chronicler of Events and Emotions;
I watch, observe, and record all that I see.
It’s truly enough to absorb and understand
Both the grandeur and depravity of mankind.
As I observe events—past, present, and future
And delve into any emotions that are at hand,
I make doubly sure to comment at will while
Showing no fear and sparing not the “sting” of
My words as a poet as a situation may command.
I can and should do no less on every theme I
Approach as a poet and a writer—for all of us who
Pursue this passionate path of refined exposition
Should realize that though we all may fulfill a very
Needed function of recounting and relating events,
Situations and emotions—we should never fear in
Providing, at times, a much-needed “conscience”
To a theme, event or situation as it unfolds.
And so it’s suitable for us poets to function at times
As a “conscience of mankind” and to be not afraid
To reflect this in our poems when the necessity of
A circumstance or situation pleads for it out of a
Compassionate need for human understanding and
Obvious decency.
For what are we as poets and writers, if we don’t
Undertake a deeper and more exalted approach to
What we do and really attempt to become “one” with
The human event, emotion, situation or relationship
We are writing about?
If we don’t do it—who will?

a storm rages outside.
sky, overcast with clouds
fearful sounds echo,
through mountain crannies,
like that of shrieking bats in flight.
trees shiver under wind's might.
everything around,
presages an impending doom.
the least pressure may
tilt the scales and tip the balance.
sitting in my dim lit room
with all the windows shut
unable to drown the emptiness
afloat in irrepressible buoyancy,
I glance over the balance sheet
of my life. There’s no surfeit,
only deficit…gross deficit!
once I was something, now nothing
utterly broke, I lose my balance.
when falling down, there’s no one to hold.
my chest feels heavy.
my heart sinks into pitfalls of sorrow.
I wonder when this will end?
while trying to make an escape route,
I sink into unsettling thoughts.
memories torturing,
destroy what’s possible.
I know when stuck in the past,
I can’t focus on my present
or plan for my future.
life is a test of mettle.
I must make the right decision.
choose the right thing.
I will continue my inner fight.
lay claim on the eternal light.
accept defeat and obliterate my ego
and resurrect my inner child!
I know, I will be tipping the balance
with every right decision I take.
I must undertake the precarious tightrope walk,
in utmost caution without losing my equilibrium.
What humans wish for universally
is difficult to conceive;
only one tyrant can undo
what the rest work to achieve;
yet, we, each, in our own worlds
do not live with peace in mind;
we fight with one another,
nearly each day we are unkind.
Self is the ogre enemy
looming large in every breast;
until that nemesis is dead
we undertake a hopeless quest.
Perhaps world peace starts very small
to secure all men are free;
you live for me; I live for you,
each other’s concord guarantee.
So, whether the scale is great or small,
the world or just one family,
let us dedicate ourselves to this,
to love without partiality.

"The future is an unimagined landscape." - Thomas S. Monson
My dreams, like migratory birds, take flight.
I visit my dark known and unknown realms.
I brighten dark nooks with colourful light.
Feeling each charm-tinge, my heart overwhelms.
Why should I cram my head with a coarse load?
I need not, as a freak, cut others' throat.
I should, with no prejudice, write my code.
I should slowly take the helm of my boat.
Paths are endless. Vistas are numerous.
I should undertake my pilgrimage now.
Should I put my trust in futile rumours?
To beauty before me, I'd always bow.
My heart and mind are tabula rasa.
Nature would scribe existential drama.
May life bless you with real freedom,
Keep enjoyment as your place,
May you find your own confidence,
From your education and your space;
May you entertain discernment,
Whilst fulfilling your desires,
And may platitude be rescinded,
By real love in your eyes.
May you receive more than you give,
And see reason when there's none,
May your friends light your inside,
May you give hope to those with one;
May you save the exploited from oppression,
By making despair to you most personal,
And may equality be the standard,
For your repudiation of its dismissal.
May you always uphold justice,
Even in dark and uncertain times,
When faced with honest requests,
And its unsettled times sometimes;
May you do what’s right no problem,
Not questioning the strain,
Nor grumbling about the consequences,
Of morality’s devoted love train.
May your diamond be stalwart honour,
For war heroes old and injured,
Tormented by battlefields and sights,
Of the mangled and beleaguered;
May you testify to fact and truth,
And publish what you know;
And may reason be your sociology,
To dictatorial governments overthrow.
May you respect others in esteem,
For kindness and achievement,
May you follow those you understand,
As beautiful in accomplishment;
May you undertake endeavours,
Which ramify the other unstudied,
By embracing love and laughter,
As whispers of grace embodied.
May you always say what’s inside,
Whilst giving other people a chance,
Trusting them with your memories,
That history upon which you cannot glance;
May you always speak your mind,
To make rationality your guide,
And in dignity confide and correct,
To let the delinquent within you abide.
May your philosophies be trophied,
As a garland by the lonely,
And may your way be warmly accepted,
Without negotiation or apology;
May righteousness be your hallmark,
And caring thought your attribution,
And may you emerge as a good person,
Bringing light where there’s intrusion.
Dance through your life
Dance through your life always
And listen to your inner melody;
And dance through your life with
Much joy and lightness for God’s
Love is always unconditional and
Special to each and every person
Who aspires to do good deeds and
To evolve toward greater spiritual
Awareness seeking God’s blessing;
Dance through your life as you seek
To pursue God’s plan and work to
Better yourself in all endeavors you
Undertake while being unafraid of
Challenges and never forgetting to
Always be kind and of a charitable
Heart and tenor to your fellow Man;
Dance through your life to the very
End understanding our mortal coil
Is indeed finite but is part of a much
Greater cosmic purpose whereby our
Souls will one day make that majestic
Journey with angels to God’s heavenly
Home where all of us can dance on in
God’s Grace and Light for an Eternity!

When we undertake strenuous physical activity
first we stretch; we move our limbs around
Intense mental activity receives far less regard
we just plunge right in; sometimes drown
Snow over a foot deep
Thrown into a big heap
A pile we will make
If not for the kids sake
For an igloo they will undertake
Through the hole I will creep
Not a word I shall peep
Lying here trying to sleep
As I begin to shake
And my back begins to ache
I think it's time for a house break
I'll crawl out like a sheep
And it's off to the house to get some sleep
My mountain man was born in June.
He could do everything, even lasso the moon.
No problem was too big for him to undertake,
Even if it was a fixture that he had to make.
He was like Paul Bunyan, chopping trees and cutting wood,
To keep his little house as warm as he could.
In business he was about as hard a worker as they come.
To be astute and shrewd was his rule of thumb.
He and his wife owned a business and did all right.
Lots of good things were bought to their delight.
But the most important thing that had the highest cost,
Was the love they had for each other they somehow lost.
Now the two people that loved each other for years,
Cannot be in the same room without valid fears.
What happened to their love that began years ago?
Greed crept in, and they did not even know.
They should have been retiring together, holding hands on the beach.
Instead they are going separate ways, and thinking of the breach.
Money is not everything, there is only so much life you live.
Value the love you have, and in your heart forgive.
Commitment is ….. beautiful when you love somebody.
Commitment is giving something greater than yourself.
It is:
A promise: To Assure, Guarantee, Swear, Agree, Secure, Give your word
A pledge: A Promise, Oath, Word of honor
A vow: To Be determined, Declare, Undertake, Assert
It is:
Assurance, Dedication, Loyalty, Devotion, Steadfastness, Allegiance,
Faithfulness, Duty, Responsibility, Obligation
If, to the one you love, you cannot give commitment, then you have nothing to give.
God committed Himself to us, He gave of Himself, He gave Jesus.
Jesus then gave His All to us, He held nothing back.
He took the cross that was due us.
Was that commitment? I’d say it was … it was the Ultimate commitment!
