Best Tunes Poems
In waters’ calm leisure, mellow tides drift
Along back strides that always find their sway,
The lighter blues, the deeper jades, that sift
Glimmers of mollusks that twinkle and play.
From the swoon of bay when dusk slowly cranes
Pewter the wavelets, darker steel the shore;
Above, one bold and yellow stripe explores
To jiggle in a curdled breeze and spills
A frothy crest with waltzes soon to fade
Before moon comes in her gathering wade.

Those sad violin tunes play for me, from the depths of heart
The moment when love failed me
The moment I became a toy, the moment I became a sick doll
Set to be used at will and discarded without being given a second glance
Those sad violin tunes bid my tears to flow
Even if the night air is smooth and the stars twinkle ecstatically
Happy to be existing, even if they are the only ones to be aware of their aim
Love is a strong word, heavy, fragranced and carries with it double meanings
It can lift me up
As it can break me
It can gift me wings
As it can bury me deep in its own pit
It can have me dance even if I don't know how to
As it can have me fall from the highest summits if it so wishes to
Lost in my own wavy and messy wave
I craft a poem to share with the tunes of the sad violin tunes
So that my heart finds enough will to breathe, easy and steady
Love, being such a powerful word,
Is something I wish not to know
Especially not on this fallen Earth,
An abode which remains too harsh for my frail heart!
Those sad violin tunes, so like rogue waves
Trample upon the blooms of my heart
As I get transported back to a time
When love, which I wished to glorify
Turned me into a nocturnal monster, capable of
Functioning only during the day time whilst
Having to hide my true self at the fall of the night!

The loon stands out it seems
Minnesota's state bird
I know it must sound absurd
Adopted in nineteen sixty one
Wails and yodels heard under the sun
Black and white bearing red eyes
Wingspans five feet can make one cry
Body lengths up to three feet
Yet clumsy on lands and moss peat
They are high speed flyers
And great underwater divers
They can dive up to ninety feet
In pursuit of fish they want to eat
They are even on our license plates
An critical habitat drawn on metal slates
Twelve thousand of these unique birds
God that has to be a lot of turds
But for now I'll enjoy it's captured views
Of this beautiful loon and it's most colorful hues

Listen to the rain falling down,
it sounds as you are playing the drums.
Listen to the wind blowing,
it blows straight from your heart when you play the saxophone.
Listen to the music of the snow falling,
It's the winter sonata performing on the right stage.
A right silhouete on the shade,
with beautiful shoes to dance on.
A serenade disguised behind
the sounds of winter when
you used to be performing.
The winter sonata brings us
new tunes to listen to,
new deaths to say good bye,
new births to say hello,
new sorrows, new joys
to be envolved in.
New music notes will be played
in the dark winter to be flourish
in our garden's soul.
Why have my guitar
strings turned into spaghetti?
What a saucy mess.
The melody of summer grips
The soothing sounds vibrate the soul
Its rhythm tingles to the tips
The melody of summer grips
Bringing a smile to once sad lips
It frees the mind and makes you whole
The melody of summer grips
The soothing sounds vibrate the soul

I chose song #2: Unchained Melody:
Oh, my love
My darling
I've hungered for your touch
A long lonely time
And time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
Godspeed your love to me
Lonely mountain gaze,
At the stars, at the stars
Waiting for the dawn
Of the day
All alone I gaze
At the stars, at the stars
Dreaming of my love
Far away
Oh, my love
My darling
I've hungered for your touch
A long lonely time
And time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
Godspeed your love to me

My Poem: Sweet Tunes Of Lavender
Sweet tunes of lavender, sacred euphony of scents,
Desiring your embrace is the only thing that makes sense.
My dear man, you have been sent if only for my wishes,
I long to hear your voice, please don’t keep me in suspense.
It’s been forever since we stood under the stars and danced,
please promise to allow me to continue this true romance.
You may seem far away but I can still hear it in the distance,
your intimacy for me, please give me one more chance.
Sweet tunes of lavender, smooth kisses while we sleep,
My dear man I beg you, have I fallen in too deep?
As slowly as time may run while I await your delicacy,
please know I need you; without you I’m incomplete.
It’s been forever since we laid in bed, loving for hours,
I fancy your every move, let’s make this lifetime ours.
I need you when far away I can’t stand missing you,
I bring you a diamond ring with one yellow rose bud flower.
Sweet tunes of Lavender, melodies ringing in my ear,
I sing to you my last request if only you would hear.
My dear man, I only ask for you to hurry, Godspeed,
take my hand, feed my soul, and come to me with no fear.
***I know this is for a contest, but the poem I wrote is a personal one. It basically explains my relationship with my husband. I hurt him, and we worked it out and I asked him to marry me. Unchained Melody always reminded me if that time in my life. Lavender is one of our favorite scents.***

With my eyes wide open and my words spoken out loud, I seek Your feel here,
on this night, atop this hill lush with soft green fields as lit by the stars Your galaxy
yields. On earth’s floor, upon smooth grass, I lay me down, Father, and pray You play
Your gospel bright purity, Your angelic chords of Father-love-security, and yes, please,
Your instrumentals that softly comfort while peacefully rocking me. It is the lack of
human-spun activities and nuisance noises that allow me the poise to absorb You here.
Your awesome choir’s euphony-brim brushes musical tingles that mingle with my soul
and fresh renew it. From your heavens, luminous sound waves flow that surround to
inform and confirm the numinous ways You love me. My Dear Father, hearing my pleas,
will You give my music needs over to Your night that they might waltz arm in arm with
Your lullaby to then dance on high as twilight rapture music heals and soothes my cry
with divinities repertoire?

Your twirly wind chimes deep within me as its hymn flirts upon my titillated skin.
Your symphony of vague promise comes as wave notes again and again. As a
concerto I cannot harness, shadows volley tempo with Your moon, clouds float an
accompanying tune and instruments in Your orchestra build a crescendo of exciting
energy wherein my burdens float upon wonderous angels who hold them inside
their primal notes. Could I, Father, but lay here amidst Your comforting music, safe
from bruise and pain, I would gladly surrender all I am to be a hold note in the gold
sky of Your spirit-scored refrain.

heaven rocks a jam
I long for the music
whispers of beauty hum,
smoky flares of red summer days,
man on fire lifts from brewing flames.
Sun over dark river propels
layers of colored light, vivid streamers,
and story white pages.
Morning bliss comes in
between the first true notes,
aroma spills across eyelids
its skin turned coffee dark.
1. Inevitability
The rain will come
and be rude.
The wind blow away
all quietude.
Erase it?
Debase it?
You have no power
and when it's
your hour, you'll
go, you know.
2. Drowning
My foot tapping time, O sweet,
he cannot know he echoes mine.
He's not in this world, but I am.
Take me there! Right foot: the Koran,
the Old Testament. He's young,
I'm not. He's playing for Happy Hour,
while his girlfriend sells her jeweled
stones her shiny koans, One,
Two, his right foot beats rhythm.
Testing,Testing. he doesn't know
he keeps me from the ocean
the dolphin and the whale,
the ashes of my brothers, his
sandaled foot, beating time,
beating time.
Winnie-the-Pooh
Loved his life and just knew
Hope and faith were the answer
As real love was the best dancer

Who seemed to blush like a giglet
Followed good old Pooh around
Helped him up when he was down

In Vanity, They Sing Hollow Tunes
Shall we march: into nights so darkly bound;
And within storms raging the foamy seas;
Rests the power of dark fury unbound,
And desperation in the Fallen's pleas.
Bitter sweet the glories the gods have sent
Small solace unto man's eternal quest,
Wherein the stones dropped are the punishment
And prideful glory is lukewarm at best.
The Valiant are led down a blackened road
In vanity, they sing hollow tunes.
Upon false mountains, lies their sad abode
And truth lay buried in their black sand dunes.
Where age turns their shining armor to rust.
Roams, a dark beast nobody can dare trust.

Note- Tis late night--my muse cried out, shut up and write!
A sonnet, to ease a grieving soul and truth takes its toll.
