Best Tough Love Poems

I found this site called Poetry Soup
Here you can get applause from a group
So I started writing poems, none make the best
My family tells me to "give it a rest."

I need some tough love, some commenter to say
"Your talent is poor, go outside in the day."
Instead, the site policy is to always give praise
Can anything save me - I hope it's just a phase.

Every time I say a sentence, I think of a rhyme
For instance, "dime, time, buy some outshine"
Can't stop rhyming, can't stop writing
I can't get a life that is more exciting.

So to all you young men, sitting on that stoop
Stay away from Poetry Soup
Find yourself another hobby, get some fresh air
Don't be like me, stuck in this creative lair.
Searching for a word, sinking in despair.

Tough Love

Tough Love

Sometimes with such strict parents, a tendancy to lend;
overlooking boundaries crossed to be your child's best friend.
I love my son with all my heart just as he does his mother.
Tho the path that he was taking; I just could not go further.
Stunned and hurt when I said, "You have to leave my home."
He wasn't his kind loving self; always drunk or stoned.
I held myself together; to his back I closed the door.
Then litteraly went to pieces falling to knee's upon the floor.
I knew he would end up in prison or maybe even dead,
if he could not shake the demons messing with his head.
It took everything inside me to stick to my decision.
I wanted to run after him, again to him be pleasing.
With tear stained face and puffy eyes I prayed with all my might,
" Please Lord spare me the dreaded phone call that comes so late at night."
Only twice I've heard God's voice aloud, not just a sign.
He said as clear as crystal, "Don't worry about him." "He's mine."
Immediatly I ceased to cry, such comfort in those words.
I know God deals with us best when we are at our worst.
Driving late he had a wreck; two poles ran through his truck.
It was him left praying on his knees; survival was not luck.
The poles crisscrossed around his neck tho he was never touched.
Three inch splinters in his hoodie; didn't miss him much.
The road was rocky coming back but thank the Lord he made it.
God's protective hands covered him; so near a death evaded.
My parents too strict then I too laxed; he's balanced tween the two.
A wonderful husband and father; he began his life anew.
The hardest decision I ever made but I thank God above;
my precious son now understands why I chose tough love.

Tough Love

I'll box your two ears into one
Screamed a disheveled, distraught mum
I do not think that can be done
Quipped a grinning, impish son.

And if you do it mommy dear
And I then only have one ear.
I'll have to turn each time you talk
Or you will have to scream and squawk.

Son, let me make it very clear
So listen up so that you hear
To what it is I have to say
My nerves are all in disarray.

The microwave in on the fritz
The next door neighbors thrown a fit
About a certain little boy
That's you my precious pride and joy

Please do not say that life's not fair
As you march yourself up the stairs
I need a moment to unwind
Before I lose my bloody mind.

Tough Love...

Are the Angel's feathers double dipped,
quills of gold but bloody tipped...
is wrath upon the many unknowing,
going,showing unhealthy stowing...
ungracious of the promised precious,
only looking for their next delicious...

Tough love,may be a reminder
fellows once,can be,fellows again
if only to feel, and then remember,
a part of the whole begins within'...

Tough Love

Rain passes through quenching the thirst of the parched dry lands.
Lightning flashes and thunder crashes as God clinches his hands.
For he has grown wreary of his creations' greed.
Turning his back on the population. Ignoring the cries during their time of need.
He can't stand to watch as we indure his punishment.
Tough love now will save many on the day of judgment.

Tough Love

Hugs and kisses
The title of his misses
A bond that we strengthen together
Being able to make it through whatever
Then comes that day
When you love no more
Tears running down your cheeks
I think I just missed a heartbeat
Heartache
Heartbreak
This tough love
I can't take anymore.

Tough Love

You had the chance to change the choice that you chose.
But no, I had to catch you red handed
Now my heart comes unclosed
Now you try coming back to me
But no, I turn away
Just like you left me out like a stray.
Don’t even bother saying sorry because you’re not.
You know what you did was wrong,
so don’t even try talking to me through a pre-made love song.
I may have been played
But I’m far from beaten.
I’m a heart breaker but no longer heartbroken.
As the air comes back to me, I now let these words be spoken.

Tough Love - No Regrets

I tried to give you all my love
But that for you was not enough

I wanted you to love me to
But I just never ever knew
Did you or didn’t you

I tried to give you all my love
I know now that was far too tough

Although it took a while for me to read the clue
I am glad there is no more me or you

Far better to live my life alone
Than spend it bowing at your throne

I tried to give you all my love
But enough was enough

Tough Love

Throughout life there will be many lessons
Others have come through so will you too
Until that moment we won't learn how too
Giving up it might seem the easier option
How will we learn if we don't even try it

Learning it's one of the key of living our life
Once we know those lessons are learnt
Vulnerability it's a sign of strength we learn
Everything that we face can be overcomed

Tough Love

Tough Love

Is being their for your lover,
No matter what the cost or what-so-ever.
Tough love is those bitter moments,
When love calls for true engagement.

Tough love is not some joy ride,
Or something you hit and hide.
Love is much more tougher then life,
Because it makes life a sure sacrafice

Tough love ain't about fine looks an charm,
Its about truth, compassion and loves arm.
That charm that is true to the game,
A love that beats barriers of shame.

Tough love is seeing inside your heart,
                                     Knowing that feelings come inpart.
So if love see's a tough spot
                                     Gently perserve those inner parts.

Tough Love

The struggle lies an ever on
Holding on to something never to
To find a place never to belong
To have love but never knew

As tough as love can ever be
Life but lives by just as close
Billions of simply you and me
To live and learn to never be pros

An ever be to never was
Never were to never is
To be found to know you are lost
To be laughed... I laugh at displease

Can you love what you hate?
So easy to simply love what you love
Too early too late
So hard to simply hate for all that's worth

Struggles... lives forever on
Have you love or do you want new?
Searching for places never to belong
To have loved but never knew

Push and Shove Leads To Tough Love

There's so much to
figure out
I can't talk or even
shout
The way you've
changed is so
surprising
It's causing a huge
uprising
I tried to teach you
right from wrong
And how to be really
strong
Never letting the
peer pressure
Make you feel any
lesser
But this person
you've become
Can not be changed
or undone
Lying, cheating,
alcohol
Drugs,
robbing--you've done
it all
Far from the way you
were taught
How did you become
so caught
And involved in such
nonsense
It's becoming way to
tense
For me to handle
anymore
Locks are changed on
all the doors
No more teen drama
will enter
Now tough love will
be the center
Of your days until
you see
How much better you
can be
Returning back to
who I raised
Getting lots of love
and praise
Letting go of all
the feelings
That turned you into
a demon
I'll be thrilled the
day that you
Return to me honest
and true

clutching at straws
     struggling without cause

falling further behind
     your actions you malign

slipping into despair
     considering your life unfair

borne of self-destruction
     feeding your own seduction

whirling into frustration
     feeling deep desperation

no extended hand
     sinking in quicksand

well, so what my dear friend
believe it or not, this is not the end

suck it up, buttercup
this is the part where you get up

you didn’t die; you weren’t maimed
no one but you is to blame

fight for your dignity, your self-esteem
     join the humankind mainstream.

Tough Love

Our bodies collided in the moonlight
Lying under him memories held my mind hostage.
As I looked up and saw his face
He was watching over me.
The feeling of his touch
Leaves me cold and motionless.
As he took back control again.
Telling myself it’s just a dream
No matter how real it may seem.
He is just a figment of my imagination.
And he cannot hurt me.
My true love lies next to me
As we make love one more time
My memories are far behind.

Tough Love

she tossed and turned
she was missing something
but what?
the night was long already
and the clock didn’t tell
how long before morning

she tossed and turned
in limbo for twenty-seven
she’d be damned
if she went one extra
without an account
to give her kinsmen

she tossed and turned
over dreams long gone bad
she’d found strange
comfort with sorrow
this could easily be
her tomb unless awakened

she tossed and turned
a pinch might do some good
when she cried in her sleep
salvation lay
in the gracious slap of
a friend’s water and whip

she neither tossed nor turned
her eyes knew better than to close
the hands of a friend
weren’t always gentle
but this last piece of hell
was beaten out of her

or was it?
