Premium Member Barefoot Tangerine Moon

Barefoot in luxuriant grass, luscious, pearl moonlight falling down,
In the golden season of sensual thrills, in the hours without sound,
Underneath the tempting tangerine tree, eating of its fragrant fruit,
With the stars dancing to tomorrow, by enigmatic, invisible routes.

Barefoot in peaceful dreamland, caressed softly by romantic moon,
When the ebony world lies in waiting, for the yellow canary's tune,
Barefoot in tangy tangerines, in the warm, soft, wandering breezes,
In the darkest hours of sleepless night, when it seems time ceases.

Escaping Rhymed Detonation

Malevolent imploded uncontrollably,
  twisting wildly maniacal posies
   amid diabolically toasted brainstem,
angst uncompromisingly yanked tresses
  purging stinging speech patterned rhymes
 amuck iniquitous poetic verses hung
     upside down to tormentingly dry,
facing other inimically knotted borders of
  antagonistic galleries in deranged snapshots
           razing warped poetical tapestries,
tripping on tunes of whiskey rushes' savoy truffles
and greenish tangerines whilst Led Zeppelin's
Sick Again danced upon reflective ceiling tiles,
time written sideways 'round alleged autonomy
hidden furthermost immune masked mirror images,
   debauching Greek braille calligraphy's vindication
on walls of graffito scripted physicality
       calling out 'tween hysterical compulsions,
naught one heeded the sounds of synapses
about ill-fated half moon's arresting arc,
   synthetic doomsday's clocks aptly chimed
quarter to analytical cuckoo's nest repudiation,
still awaiting on serendipity to surrender
           furthermost rabbit hole's curiouser rants,
relinquishing unwell-languaged compilations' sabotage - -
      circumventing rhythmically subversive escaped detonation

Premium Member Bloodstained Leaves of Autumn

The bloodstained leaves of autumn fall like snow
upon the threshold of the dying glow
of summer whose conception shining rose
from breath of tangerines, but now must go
the way of brilliant life in last repose.

See not as dismal early closing day
when falling shadows kneel as if to pray
before the altar of a fading sun
when summer's fragrant whisper turns to gray
and blooming of the roses soon is done.

See not as piteous alders weeping
when October's taunting gusts are leaping
and one by one pluck memories away
of magenta dawns that would come creeping
and sweep us into reveries of May.

Indeed, for lilac dreams there is a cost.
Now we must bear the looming winter frost.
Though raven wings will hover upon drifts
of powder, rest assured not all is lost
for soon enough grow April's chartreuse gifts.

Never Told You

Tired of talking
‘bout weather
Other trivial things

Tired of talking
‘bout food
The price of tangerines

You may outlive
This aging man
Before I go
Please understand

Never told you how
I love you
When I held you
In the dark

Never told you how
I love you
I was never
Very smart

I never told you how
I love you
When I kissed your
Baby face

Never told you how
I love you
And I pray it’s
Not too late

I would tell you,
“That’s what men do…manly men don’t say, ‘I love you’”
That was my alibi
But what men do should be corrected
What men do can’t be accepted
If it makes your woman cry

Tired of talking
‘bout scandals
Rumors of the day

Tired of talking
‘bout old mistakes
Who deserves the blame?

The Winter of our lives
Is drawing near
Let’s change it to Spring
From year to year

Now I’m telling you
I love you
Though the words are coming late

I’m telling you
I love you
And it feels so good to say

I’ll love you in the morning
Love you through the night
I will love you through the tears
And all the tragedies of life

I’ll stay with you forever
Love you every day
Love you, love you, love you
It feels so good to say

Love you, love you, love you, baby

Feels so good to say…..

Premium Member April of Spring

Welcome April as a roulette of wildflowers
enchants my breath like nightfall's ambrosia,
flaming the delicacy of charmed kisses
and wine...how springtime breeze pirouettes
to refresh a tingle of laughter, of  lusty abandon ;
then to caress me with your adorned gown
as early dawn unfurls a bevy of laced trees :

Inimitable  goddess  of  fertility you are;
whistling tunes from awakened bird-chimes
and to return with  an exuberant  hello;
youthful as a voice stirred by flake’s departure--
this parade lavishing my earthy bosom
rises along a decorated courtyard--
those hands spilling reds, tangerines, pinks
on varnished lattice...and the way you strut
into a waltz, a face draped by moon, sunshine...
April of Child-Spring, linger on way beyond hello.

A Special Place

I’m thinking of a place
with monkeys and a sled
A brand new jar of cottage cheese
just resting on the bed
An envelope with butterflies
upon the stamp it wears
A basement sitting at the top
of someone else’s stairs
~
A very special place
where the beach is at your door
And multicolored tangerines
will help you mop the floor
A casserole with tuna
in a bowl of cocoa beans
Where questions become answers
or at least that’s what it seems
~
A place where you will notice
that the sun it always shines
And toaster ovens tick away
below the shuttered blinds
Jeopardy is on the tube
wherever you may go
Antiques shuffle down the street
as every road will show
~
When you are in this special place
a trolley will say hi
A weeping willow sings a song
as it forgets to cry
Hibiscus on the front porch
welcome all who do drop in
The price it has been lowered
as the morning comes again
~
You’ll see while in this special place
a necklace on a whale
And smiles at the dollar store
they always are on sale
A seagull and a crescent moon
now share the skies above
But most of all while in this place
you’ll see that you are loved
~
You will learn this special place
it lives within my heart
To offer you a haven
when we find we are apart
A sanctuary nestled deep
that always will be true
For here within this special place
I always will love you

Premium Member A Gentle Rain

While the dawn collects its rhythm,
Quietly protecting the whispers of a new day,
Tangerine sunsets composing chrysanthemum hymns,
Risk their gentling tones in rarest glimpses,
Through the silence, into the fated feelings,
Where truth glows and kindness flows…

Shadows listen to the grace beyond the gates,
Forever rising seas, nocturnal rhythms,
Peace, in trembling pieces of heartfelt mysteries,
Blessing away the darkest storms,
Healing the moments, reassuring the stars,
Dusty breaths of kindled hope…

Arising, like the tides – ebb and flow,
Erasing the quivering seasons, burdened
By reflections of yesterday’s sins,
Neglected poetry, birthed by pain and written,
In heartfelt verses – stanzas uplifted by the soul,
Who knows the blessings of remembering…

Still as the daybreak, in flames of faith,
Awakening the heartfelt – love like a prayer,
Soothing and sentimental, yet as strong and gentle
As the most intriguing sunset, tangerines wish,
Overcome by buttery moments who believe,
Light sees beyond the winds, the trees…

Into the music that startles the dreams,
Colors, in detail, the wonder of a beautiful,
Far more alive than the dusk, the twilight,
Breathing prayers of yearning,
Enchanting, even the nocturnal, with light,
Softly tracing a silhouette of weakness, struggling…

In faith, in hope, in love – sunset’s grace seeks,
Quaint and windy echoes,
Feathery seasons, in moonlight and star strewn,
Heavens caressing the light’s flow,
Amazing us all with the night’s glow,
Flames of forever, in music that is destined…

For love, the star’s flame, seeking our pain,
Settling the darkness, the fear, the lulling rain.

Premium Member June whispers secrets

In a gentle slumber, where the moon takes flight,
I lay my dreams next to her this tender night
June whispers secrets, in a voice so sweet,
A symphony of stars, a lullaby complete

Underneath her breath, a hush so deep,
Where shadows dance with every leaf
Her eyes, like tangerines, aglow with light,
Seeking answers in the endless night

She wanders through the cosmos, lost in thought,
Searching for a grand design that's never been sought.
The universe unfolds, a mystery vast,
But answers elude her, out of reach, far-cast

Yet in the silence, I find solace,
In the rhythm of her heart, a tranquil pace
My thoughts become one with the celestial sphere,
A melody burning with cosmic seer

I dream of being the answer she seeks,
Of being the reason her heart beats.
To be the key that unlocks her mind,
To be the rhyme that's her life's design.

For she is wisdom, a truth untold,
a lesson I never learned when young and bold
through her, I see the beauty in the unknown,
In my chaos, there's a pattern she's unshown.

She paints with colors, not seen in daylight,
With each stroke, she brings me to life
Her artistry transcends the mortal plane,
In her presence, I am never the same.

And though our paths may cross only once,
our hearts entwined, our souls intertwined,
I know that I will never forget,
the love she drew in trembling lines

So I close my eyes and let this night,
envelop me in its gentle might.
I rest within her arms, secure and free,
The answer to her search, eternally.

Outside My Window

Outside My Window

I sit on Dad's heavenly bed as I pen this write
The mournful heart looks outside
The window which for the moment is mine
I view with his eyes and the heart inflates
The orchard is blooming ready for fruiting, but
The hedges look wild while lawn's not mowed
His cane chair is empty while mother is beside
The newspaper lies folded on the tea-tray with specs
The tangerines in pots dangling near to death
None to tell my brooding dear mother
'Preserve them in bottles before the season is out'.

The Chinese New Year

Are you ready for a brand new year
The spring festival coming
So let’s all cheer
The lunar calendar starts again
It’s time to clean the cobwebs my friend

Gifts of red envelope’s everywhere
This is the Chinese New Year
The year of the sheep
The ram, the goat
Bring your fire crackers to make the most

Don’t forget those tangerines
They symbolize good luck and prosperity
You could bring some lovely oranges too
For friends and relations
Waiting for you

Now the fruit is their beloved gift
But wearing red, is that just a myth
Whatever you do
Do not wear black
It resembles death and we don’t like that

Pineapple lanterns in every colour
They look so sweet
Hanging in the summer
This also stands for prosperity
The mandarins are so very keen

The mother of pearl
Will bring you good fortune
You’re live in abundance
With the well of the fish
And eat every good portion with that dish

Now don’t forget your spring cleaning
But beware of that broom
After all it’s cheating
Bring in the new and out with the old
So this New Year could bring you gold

Last but not least, let your child lay
So you can fulfil your ripe old age
The longer they sleep
The more time for you
Add on the years restoring your youth

The Perfect Omelet

The Perfect Omelet

I think I'd like an omelet
so please find me a giant pot,
a half a dozen fresh kumquat
and don't forget the cheese.

Add a jar of jumping fleas,
2 cans of fancy black-eyed-peas,
do not add pepper, or I'll sneeze
and don't forget the beans.

Stir it often, add sardines,
a couple cups of jelly beans,
a bag of Florida tangerines
and don't forget the beets.

Just when it bubbles, add snake meat
and feathers of a parakeet,
a spoon of honey to make it sweet
and don't forget frog legs.

Add some peppermint, two kegs,
a weasel raised in Winnipeg
and most importantly, I beg,
don't forget the eggs.

What's that you say, no eggs today?
I guess I'll put this pot away!
I'd like an omelet the most.
Guess I'll settle for some toast!

Still
 waters
 reflect hues
 of autumn gold,
 rust, and tangerines
 as the forest whispers
 to the clear October sky
leaves descend gently to the ground
silence echoes through the trees as cool
winds ripple still waters where beauty rests

Sweet Fruits

Now Ms Dietrich,
I have to give a response,
To your poem on behalf of fruit lovers, thus;
Of fruits we will disagree
I love then for breakfast, even for tea.
I love my apples, peaches and pear
Watermelons, coconuts, and guavas
No fear!
I eat a cherry, then a plum
And suck on star apples until the milk is done.
Even when they are stuck in my throat
Moving north, but heading south.
Love them.
Tangerines, Mandarins and artiniques,
From the same genus, but all unique
Oh and the grapes which are fed
While lying on my feathered bed
Can I tell you about the cucumber
Chew it. bend it, then devour
Now my favourite is the avocado
Refreshes vigour, and strengthens ardour
Now there are some exotic ones you see
News headlines to you but old story to me
My voyages have been long time made
Within each log, I write a page
On the last line an anecdote
To the humble gage, and artichoke
But if ever I have a regret
It's of the fruits not tasted yet.

Premium Member Taken For Granted

I once took for granted my childhood when still too young to know,
how time was fleeting and so misleading like a movie picture show.

I'm older now but no wiser and sadly must convey,
I still take too much for granted including work and play.

I've taken for granted tin foil, tangerines, and trees,
I've taken for granted gardens and grapes and even the air I breath.

I've taken for granted friendships and faces from the past,
and I've taken for granted God's graces, places, and countless questions I never asked.

I've taken for granted this body and mind that can contemplate who we are, out here in the middle of the universe, third planet from a nearby star.

And I've taken for granted apples, pears, pies, and plums,
the blood in my veins, blue sky and rain, my fingers and opposing thumbs.

I've taken for granted seeds I've planted and bugs I didn't much like,
old cars I once owned and even a home, morning dew and daylight.

Someday I might learn to be thankful for all these miracles that surround,
but try as I might it's always a fight to be thankful for all that abounds.
