Outside My Window

Outside My Window

I sit on Dad's heavenly bed as I pen this write
The mournful heart looks outside
The window which for the moment is mine
I view with his eyes and the heart inflates
The orchard is blooming ready for fruiting, but
The hedges look wild while lawn's not mowed
His cane chair is empty while mother is beside
The newspaper lies folded on the tea-tray with specs
The tangerines in pots dangling near to death
None to tell my brooding dear mother 
'Preserve them in bottles before the season is out'.
