Upon the slow-flowing river,
Suddenly swans
Scud quickly away.

From round the bend I gracefully glide,
I am the queen of them all.

And quickly my king arrives.

The dance of love begins.
We bob our heads, wings quivering,
Necks entwined.
Unruffled snow-white plumage.

In time my eggs are hatched,
Cygnets are so cute.
How...

Summer's sweet swans share
    white winged feathers
Wild and free as they bow their
     long graceful necks.
Artistic as a poet's painting
     of fecund flora,
Nature's lough at Coole, their

Swans so gracefully gliding o'er lake
Delightful scenery they create
Dressed all in white feather finery
True beauties of the lake dynasty.

Falling in love with love forever
Swan mates dance on water together
Singing a swan lake song as they roam
The glorious lake they've made their home.

When swans in...

Premium Member Two Swans In a Pond
Two swans in a pond
In symphonic dance
Bowing to each other
Submissive obeisance

Meditating romance
On rippled vows
Rousing feathers
In flirting advance
Exchanging affections
In a wordless song

Courting seduction
In dignified stance

A sensuous replay
Between stimulus
And response
Floating on arousal
Sanctifying foreplay

A Swans Return
Grace had floated royal
among the sweet summered months,
and not a moment had passed
without the nectar of love;

Three feathered lords so fledgling
white-black,
sleeping white at noon,
'neath arbors brawn....
where the nestles are soft with love,
and dream to host all the world watching;
from horizon's scarlet painting pink
the billowed...

Two swans swimming in beautiful bliss -
a pretty picture of spring’s splendor is this.
Wonderful, white birds – like soft snow -
they so gracefully glide serenely slow.
Pale pink blossoms all around -
blooms fallen float on the pleasant pond
that the April sun smiles down upon!

Dedicate to Timothy Lee, the best of me

My fried anxieties and crisped lonely would unite in my sleep's repeat

nightmares where a roster of random monsters pursued their viewed, vile

end of me. My pulsing terrors urged I fast run but my feet always turned

to...

    Is it beautiful white swans

    with fluffy white feathers light

    A moment poignant and beautiful

A pond quivers in demure gusts,
cygnets of morning light undulate
with lithe ripples. Winter thaws,
the sun arcs over feathered rainbows
as ice sculptures bevy like water lilies
on April's frigid cobalt.

In abrupt squall webbed feet prance
on a mirror, capturing saffron exhalations
of rapt poppies,...

I wonder how aware they are,
what shadowy sense of self
occupies their brain. Perhaps
no more than a flicker
of consciousness glows
in the far reaches
of an inner dark,
sufficient to propel them
here and there for food
and find a mate,
just printed circuits of flesh
programmed for...

Our Tall Duckling (original title)

Our daughter, always through her childhood,
at least a head above any other girl in her class,
stands somewhere offstage now
with long lashes darkened by mascara
and with lips and cheeks painted pink.
She waits with other nervous pre-teens in her group
where I left...

choleric clouds, suspended

Does the caterpillar understand
it will become a butterfly so grand
Does the tiny ugly duckling realize
it will be a gorgeous swan, life-size

Does the blind, featherless baby robin know
that off into the sky, it will breathtakingly go
They, of course, can't imagine...

The Swans
The swans
By Michelle Morris
06/02/2023

Two swans swim on the ocean
Beautiful, gliding together
Love and light highlighted
Nature's infinite blessings

The waves reflect back blue cool
The sun echoes down yellow warmth
The swans are white purity in motion
The sand blending black, yellow and white stripes

The swans swim on, uncaring of labels
They...
