Best Suspect Poems

Suspect Deal

My friend called Jerry Shorten
Saw a great deal and bought in,
The company went broke
Alas poor bloke
Now listens every day to the warden.

It is a nice sunny day
in the eastern Riverina
It is a perfect day to go for a ride
on my klr 650
might go for a ride to
circumnavigate Hume weir
yep
sounds like a plan
so I am thinking about
dropping in a Bunnings
to get some nails
to finish lining that shed
hm, then I could go to bcf
to get some gas cartridges
for the camp stove
yeah, no worries
that will all fit in my backpack
so, done all that
riding along the winding road
and see that the town of Tallangatta
has the big garage sale
I pull up at a few sites and
stumble upon this quaint
old wind up alarm clock
I wind it up a little, it works
ticking away nicely
it goes in the backpack

It is a beautiful day
and I enjoy my ride on the klr 650
as I get back to Holbrook
I get a snack at the bakery
and am about to head home
but the highway patrol decides to
do a random breath test on me
which returns zero

Strangely enough, between the noise
of the traffic and a few local swearing about
the lack of rain
the police officer hears a ticking noise
in my backpack
he seems concerned about that
and immediately gets his partner
to pin me down
and calls for backup

They have this scanner
which detects bomb making material
in my pack, and a ticking sound
so I am in trouble now
the backup units turn up
the area gets locked down
I am thrown into an armored vehicle
handcuffed etc.

The bomb squad turn up
they don't like the gas cylinders mix
with the nails and the ticking noise

Funny enough, they don't believe my story
why I bought those items......

It was a good day to go
for a ride on my klr 650.

Hold on you big angry cat
Laying ambush for the little rat
Take heed and be circumspect
The rat may not be your suspect

Wait a minute you big angry cat
Be patient with the little rat
He is innocent of every crime
Until proven guilty by court in this clime

Listen to me all you angry cats
Compatriots of all the innocent rats
Jungle justice is outdated
And never to be updated

All we had was a fixed illusion...

We all had the same delusion.

We were never alive, although it felt that way

As over to school or tending our plantation.

We won't be born again, or live in suspect clover.

Prime Suspect

Prime Suspect

Investigating the prime suspect was so hard
He wasn't smart as he taught he could bee
He kept giving unreasonable answers that got us mad
He made us chase him around like a bee
The torture we gave him made his wife and children very sad
He fainted due to the excessive bleed
He spoke the truth after speaking to his dad

Premium Member Our Thoughts Suspect

Our thoughts suspect, if rooted in desire
Swirled in the storm, monk alone stands erect
Oh hermit! Let love set our heart afire
All ego borne cravings, lead to lament

Desires precede thought, which we then project
Seeming reality, we ourself sire
Dream sequence, which best by nonchalance met
Our thoughts suspect, if rooted in desire

Our dream ends when the dreamed object retires
On severing with attachments, it’s pact
Pure presence consigns ego to the pyre
Swirled in the storm, monk alone stands erect

Aligned with conscience, life play is perfect
Hollowed out form seeks nothing to acquire
Thus immune from karmic cause and effect
Oh hermit! Let love set our heart afire

Crafty ego draws us into its lair
Hypnotic illusions we take as fact
Pursuit of mirage, for which we aspire
All ego borne cravings, lead to lament

By free will, we grant lower mind consent
Dwelling therein, repenting at leisure
Silence and stillness ensures our ascent
Reclaiming freedom; our soul not for hire
Our thoughts suspect

The Suspect

The suspect, looking like a clown,
Sat quietly in court.
His face was frozen in a frown;
He offered no retort.

Some victims’ relatives were there;
In anguish, they all glared.
The shooter, acting unaware,
Impassively just stared.

I wonder what’s inside his mind –
Accomplishment and pride?
Or does his memory rewind
And think of those who died?

Right now it’s still a mystery,
His motives tightly hidden;
But looking back at history,
Some flaunt what’s been forbidden.

We’ll never really understand
What makes this person tick;
But millions all across the land
Feel sorrowful and sick.

We'Ll Groomed Suspect Award

Monday morning and I was looking at the latest bulletin
One had a picture of two suspects for police to attend
I noticed that one was a nice looking young lady smiling
Who before the mug shot had groomed herself beguiling
Standing there was her long hair carefully in place
Over one shoulder in an alluring swath to the left of her face
I suppose it is always essential to look your best for everyone
Particularly if you are robbing stores with a friend and gun.

Suspect

a mental pendulum keeping track in my mind
bonded with wit as edgy as a creshendo
barring all viewers from my mental window
infected with a host of emotional receipts
placing every action without fail or deceit
harvesting energy from deep within
till my cup brims to the top
put into fear with a hoist and crane
layered like a cake sweet and moist
firing an offbeat melodrama
not unlike open mike at the house of dada
running into mama wilst running from papa
feigning for hookers like a rouge cop
piecing together if the suspect is guilty

must be mutual
what we suppose and suspect
did become direct

Something's about to happen I can't tell you what
it all matter the simple things
Won't you please all come get on board
But
Who can you trust
When the Angels fell to sing
But
Who is the best what is my test
I am the without witness
?

Premium Member The One They Least Suspect

their daughter is missing
there is a candle lit vigil
parents put out a heartfelt plea

their next door neighbor
consoles her family with the right words
cameras capture his genuine sadness

their daughter is furious
watching from the cell
he has made her in his basement
As her parents hug her abductor on TV
