I think of storms I've weathered, and I smile
for those who've sought to break my heart and gain
the pleasure of defaming me with guile
now know the truth: their efforts were in vain

the thunder of their words died down in time
as did the insults hurled against my form
the self same wind of strife cleared all the grime
and pain to peace was able to transform

I withered for a while, that much is true
the pain was deep enough to make me cry
Truth made me strong and helped me to renew
my broken wings on poetry to fly

those who condemn are gone, and I remain
the storms of life have helped my worth to gain

Without a shadow's kiss
           How blooms a hidden rose?
Without a storm's embrace
          How does an oak repose?

In Twilight's waltz, secrets unroll
    the mystery it bestows.
Yet in its gently budding leaves
     tales of resilience compose.

How should I yearn to climb
          I lack the precipice's call?
Cragged visions of distant peaks and
   fallow mind
          a darkened silent beckon enthrall.

Oh, to forge within,
Oh, why, doubt cloaks my inner child.
In solitude's chains
          I hear the introspective thrall.

Yet, tremors are in my soul
and yet a lonely seed begins to climb
A combination of growth
          harmonizing with each chime.
Nourished by tears that sow
          the fertile sands of time.
My garden of emotions still hints
     at a poet’s
          paradisiacal paradigm.

Suddenly, a sunlit coast where dreams
       unfurl in storms
A canvas painted by aspirations
          that gently adorn.
With hopeful brushstrokes
               life-captivating stories that plume.
A gallery of memories
                    a child’s kaleidoscope.
 Once upon a solitary,
                           darkened
                                 locked room.

Perhaps a gardener’s gentle hand
     can stir the fallow ground
Fertilizing roots to depths
           where true potential
once lost - begged to be found.

A dawn’s soft breath a gentle lure
perhaps to coax my dormant leaves unbound
Awakening possibilities in the quiet
                    yet, now fertile ground.

In stillness my thoughts emerge
         unseen, a quiet vow,
An introspective voyage
on the sea of here and now.
My diamonds form from tears
                          not battles' echoing crown

I am a jewel of resilience
forged in the soul's darkest hour.

EVE OF STORMS

As I look towards the horizon,
Without hesitation,
But with determined yet
Heartfelt trepidation,
And see a distant angry
Storm forging forth
Its spluttering vicious curvaceous
Fearful advance holds my gaze
With historical ageless
Heartfelt emotions,
That sink and dive,
And furl and curl,
Knowing no one may survive!
Poseidon and Neptune take centre stage,
And Eve of storms unleashes wrath,
Tempts oceans rage!
The beginning of time
Is about to meet Mythology
Eternity about to clash
With oceans and Astrology
The mystical ocean gods,
Meet Eve, the beginning of human
Temptation, against all odds!
The reptile has achieved
Its evil aim and intent,
Causing chaos and fear
Alone is it’s content.
The gods call upon God our Maker
To drown the serpent tormentor,
And quell this tidal wave
Ten storeys tall,
About to wipe out all,
This massive water wall!
Eve of Storms has angered God
She had already lost the keys
To Paradise, now interferes
With Poseidon and Neptune,
The gods of seas,
God the omnipresent and the
Only truth sends Eve back to Earth,
Is Eve of Storms,
Fiction, or myth people say,
But to this day
Whilst looking up
At starlit skies
We are no more the wise!

Passing Storms

Children playing, picking flowers
on this April afternoon
up and down the grassy hillside
shadows will be fading soon

As the sudden storm approaches
all of nature darkening
the children dashing homeward
to their mother's call are hearkening

The rain begins its rhythmic dance
as to their back door they both race
once inside they make their way
into their mother's warm embrace

Perched beside a picture window
fresh hot cocoa for each one
they sit and watch the treetops blowing
passing storms can sure be fun

Breaking clouds give way to sunshine
beams of light go flowing by
and like a heavenly artist's brush
they paint a rainbow 'cross the sky

Children sit and watch in wonder
Mother Nature's wrath subside
as dazzling buds and fragrant blooms
beckon them to come outside

Premium Member Mighty Storms

Storms, mighty storms proceed
Coming from the far west
Bringing Pacific's anger
On their trip with a quest

The north wind howls fiercely
Uses its whip on the trees
Bending, breaking branches
Nature brought to its knees

But during this chaos
Somehow, I'm allured
At raw power prevailing
Wonder how the weak endured

In your raging tempest
I've seen a cleansing force
Washing away tree's burdens
Excess baggage, remorse

You've given liberation
From stagnant stifling air
A chance to start anew
With freshness that you bear

Premium Member After The Storms

The pale white skies, with a tint of setting sunlight,
Spread across the horizon beyond the hill
Gray bark, tall pines and the oak stood proud
Holding their proof of spectacular seasons passed
Wind blown snow hug the tree trunks like marshmallows
Decorative slopes, frozen in collective time
Winter has a way of saying, everything will be alright
As it leaves behind these calm scenes that resonate
Always showing quiet peace, in drifts after the storms

Premium Member The Sea Storms Lullaby

In the rocking, rolling surf I picked up a random seashell,
And just listened to the sea storms lullaby, the curling of
Spray urged a hushed soft whispering echo, what an ear
Fulfilling symphony impressed my vivid imagination of
Fertility!
Sweeping this beach combing land locked refugee, to
A distant place beneath fathoms briny deep, an aquatic
Paradise shined in brilliance before my pondering eyes,
I’m beguiled by the opulence emerging, to the life
Surging all around me, this spiritual dreamer on a
Vision quest under the big blue’s sky scape!
Just then I pause to hear all the sounds around me,
The whales trumpeting, the waves crashing against
The rugged, craggy shoreline, and the rushing undertow
Smashing on the coral reef below!
Blending in perfections melodic curve in successive
Musical notes, are the distant sounds beyond human
Comprehension of the unknown, unexplored discovery
Zone, yet what beautiful music this unwater world
Makes, for all the senses to in drink and partake!
Squalling seagulls screech above, as a swelling tornado
Cloud of silver Minnie fish form in twilights shifting
After glow of the mid-afternoons light!
Textures aquatic sound waves lull me in tune
With natures under seas ambiance, giving this
Mystical realm in exotic feeling of transitioning,
I’ve been transported beneath, and dwell as a
Part of this magical sea scape captured in it’s
Vast beauty of light and sound, lost an
Inspirations muse!
Suddenly the tones change as the storm winds
Blow in, the sea orchestra refines unto rages
Thunderous climax shattering the peaceful silence!
It is the sea storms lullaby, rocking the rolling surf,
To destructions ultimate rheum, awakening this
Day dreamer from slumbers awakening shifting
Drift!
Lord Titans waving his mystical trident, lied’s this
Classical chorus of mariner’s tragedy, set to destiny’s
Thunderous overture of aquatic rapture gone airy,
And here I’m standing alone reveling in the musical
Hail storm spell bound, in awes after effect!
Listen to the sounding sea, can’t you hear its sweet
Melody’s lost within the hushed silence of the seashells
Mystical song, in essence spray it awaits thee, come
Along mystic dreamer and know the true essence of the sea!

Premium Member Storms of Life

The storms of life, they twist and fray
Rain slowly erodes our values away
Caught up in this hectic pace
Can lose ourselves without a trace
Sometimes it seems it's all illusion
Leaving us in great confusion
Wind and rain, blowing sands
The future nestled in our hands
Be wary of the constant strife
Lest we become the storms of life

Fierce wind fans aghast! energy release
Somber clouds aggregate longing deep cry. . .
Rocket to train slam-bang sounds reign the skies!
Acid bitter sky tears aged litter wry!
Boogie titanic waves contest to flee!

Lightning rocks like disco lights vivid trance!
Giving birth to fearsome galore of storm. . .
Minutes to hours brisk growing heavens' arms;
Strongly ravaging placing things to harm
Elevating flood seeping so expanse. . .

Fascination gone, as groans and moans dawn ~
The storm brought death and stormy crashing thoughts,
On humans and non-humans failing trot.
They all tried to hold, tried harder and fought. . .
Sun shines lightening the skies, hope steps on!

A storm is brewing inside and out.
Can you hear distant thunder roll?
It mimics the buffeting of his clout,
clouds match the darkness of his soul.

Lightening strikes with its cruel bolts
As quickly as his hand pummels me.
The pain feels like a thousand volts.
From both angry storms I must flee!

Winds start gusting and blowing wild.
His screams match their howling force.
Brewing storms cannot be reconciled.
They leave devastation in their course.

I don't think I can take more vicious storms.
As cold rain washes over my battered face,
it mingles with warm teardrops of my alarm.
I must escape the furies of this raging place.

When hearts are enraged
 by storms they cannot control
 Violent actions may lead
 to murder most foul

 A heart filled with hate
 will not hesitate
 to kill those it despises
 Life it will annihilate

 Jealousy, that green eyed monster
 Can turn brother against brother
As in the biblical story of Cain
Whose envy left his brother slain

41 Thunder Storms

The earth trembles in fear
As the sky goes through yet another rough time
Tears falling from the sky
Falling on me, as I walk into danger
The cool breeze calming my spirit
The whispering wind telling of her (depressing) story

Its beautiful to me
The earth is alive yet again

You have the darkness
Which turns into light

You can't have a rainbow
Without any rain
