My poem navigates themes of severe hardships, resilience, introspection, and growth. The exploration of contrasts and complexities within the verses are life challenges building up and illustrating the transformative power of personal experiences. The hope is that my poem engages you, the reader, emotionally, prompting reflection on your life journey of self-discovery that leads to a beautiful, profound exploration of the human experience, the fullness of the God-given breath of life.

--------

Without a shadow's kiss, How blooms a hidden rose? Without a storm's embrace, How does an oak repose? In Twilight's waltz, secrets unroll, the mystery it bestows. Yet in its gently budding leaves, tales of resilience compose. How should I yearn to climb, I lack the precipice's call? Cragged visions of distant peaks and fallow mind, a darkened silent beckon enthrall. Oh, to forge within, Oh, why, doubt cloaks my inner child, In solitude's chains, I hear the introspective thrall. Yet, tremors in my soul, a lonely seed begins to climb, A combination of growth, harmonizing with each chime. Nourished by tears that sow the fertile sands of time, My garden of emotions hints, at a poet’s paradisiacal paradigm. Suddenly, a sunlit coast where dreams unfurl in storms, A canvas painted by aspirations that gently adorn. With hopeful brushstrokes, life-captivating stories that plume, A gallery of memories, a child’s kaleidoscope, Once upon a solitary, darkened, locked room. Perhaps a gardener’s gentle hand can stir the fallow ground, Fertilizing roots to depths where true potential once lost - begged to be found. A dawn’s soft breath, gentle lure, to coax my dormant leaves unbound, Awakening possibilities in the quiet, yet, now fertile ground. In stillness, thoughts emerge, unseen, a quiet vow, An introspective voyage on the sea of here and now. My diamonds form from tears, not battles' echoing crown, I am a jewel of resilience, forged in the soul's darkest hour.

Another Masterpiece, Daniel. This was heartfully robust and true with kaleidoscopic and viewmaster view. When God has put you threw the forge, he has chosen you to fulfill in his designs. In a refiners fire. Like this poem.

Inspiring poetry, Daniel. The essence of our being is revealed through the will to overcome the trials we face in life and the gratitude and praise we offer to our Creator for the many blessings we receive. Your last line resonates and illustrates the life I've lived these past 79 years. "I am a jewel of resilience, forged in the soul's darkest hour." Have a blessed weekend, my friend. Bill

Very poetic and deep, soft and hard. Naked lunch of the maelstrom of emotions. Rainbows end meets crystallized resolve of new life, from a cocoon of wisdom.

Dear Jude, your thoughtful comments on my poem mean a lot. I appreciate your description of it as "very poetic and deep, soft and hard." Your imagery of a naked lunch within the maelstrom of emotions, the convergence of rainbows end, and the crystallized resolve emerging from a cocoon of wisdom is very insightful. Thank you for your insights. Gratefully, Daniel

Do you know of the quote by Freud? “Everywhere I go I find a poet has been there before me." You have so much to offer. It's wonderful that your words will help me and others think about how we can help ourselves have a pleasant life. I joke that we're always told to be the best we can be....but I think if we're good, that might be enough. Too much pressure otherwise. I was thinking I haven't spoken to my daughter in a while, and your poem reminded me to reach out. TY

Daniel, I am not a therapist, but have known many throughout my life. There are many different styles and we just have to find that which works for us. That is not always easy for someone in need of help. I know the people you see are lucky to have you to talk to.

Duke, your mention of Freud's quote deeply resonates. I am a therapist by trade. Are you? Your kind words about my contributions and their impact on personal reflection mean a lot. I'm glad my words serve as a reminder to connect with loved ones. Your perspective on being good rather than constantly striving for the best is refreshing—a reminder to embrace authenticity. Thank you for your thoughtful insights. Blessings, Daniel

Dear Daniel, i read your opening lines and it left me breathless, just wow! And the way you’ve written this is so beautiful! And so creative. So many lines resonate with me and i think many can too, how sometime our inner child still gets triggered and tears they nourish and sands of time and how you’ve used the concept of gardening here to depict life and phases etc is so very clever and creative truly! Everytime i read you i feel like its one of the best iv read from you but then i read again

And im like wow! Impressive and impeccable! really! I love also the last lines there and also “Nourished by tears that sow the fertile sands of time, My garden of emotions hints, at a poet’s paradisiacal paradigm.” The light alliterations word pairings and way of expressing is beyond profound! Another fave this is for me: and if it is for a contest. BOL!

You my friend and are one hell of a poet.. a wordsmith of deep and profound poetry.. Do you have a book? I love that last line, arnt we all diamonds? Adversity is a funny thing, is it not? Some become stronger, some fall apart.. Childhood is a playground where our adulthood relies on the strong foundations, you know they say its easier to build a strong child than to fix a broken adult... In awe of your poem, and many will relate to your words ...

Dear Silent One, Your generous praise warms my poet's heart. I'm touched by your kind words and the depth with which you engaged with my work. The idea that we are all diamonds, shaped by adversity, resonates deeply. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and the glimpse into your poetic world as the "poetic gardener." Your encouragement means a lot. Knowing that I am going to read some of your garden poems. Gratefully, Daniel

I read this twice and hardly know where to begin expressing my thoughts. Those who've felt hurt, physical and/or emotional, long for some glimmer of hope. Whether the kiss from a shadow, or having survived a storm, it builds character and resilience to tremors in a soul and wounds in a heart. "Diamonds from tears..." Each one fought for in a battle you didn't begin, but one in which you overcame defeat. Awesome lines, Daniel.
