Best Shimmering Poems
The perfect poem goes something like this –
Feeling stings, like a bee
Quick as a tear
Just as abruptly as a star’s glowing
A whisper, a sigh, a stirring –
Stars of Clarity…
What it means to truly see beyond
The grief, the longing, the all-consuming
Passion!
The perfect poem is any poem that bleeds,
Not just ink
But light, laughter, love
Signs of life beneath layers of words!
She woke up everyday
to the beckoning of death's toll.
But decided to embrace life,
pulling herself from the darkened hole.
With a new brightness in her eyes,
she lived life as partially buried gold.
Never afraid of the darkness,
or what the future may hold.
Shimmering beneath the dirt,
her beauty shall now unfold.
True legacy lies hidden to reign,
for a prodigy has risen from bitter cold.
One example of grace goes far,
farther then any story ever told.
With strength that comes from deep within,
that's been held from days of old.
Among the majority she lived,
witnessing atrocities flare.
From her soul she would always give,
though no one seemed to care.
As the bells of sadness began to ring,
she would rise above the gloom.
Out of darkness and despair she would sing,
with a melody that filled the room.
The tears that had fallen proved as strength,
to her ever-impending light.
Onward traveling to any length,
for what she believed was right.
When darkened paths shimmer,
despite the pangs of apathy,
through life she will always glimmer,
no matter what the tragedy.

Peacock
Bright feathers
Graceful and proud
Rainbow shimmering in sun
Beautiful

Male peafowl
Magnificent courting display
Elegance in every motion
Majestic
Majestic
Iridescent plumage
Tall and slender
National bird of India
Revered

Timeless treasure
Feathers like blueberries
Loved across the world
Adorable
An elfchen chain
Written 19th January, 2025.
This silhouette against evening sky
Etched into my longing eye
That trailing gown
Coloured setting sun in shimmery
Little waves of water, and melancholy
My feelings drown
In suffocating thoughts of loss
Such fragrant perfume, lip-gloss
In softly brown
longing, framed past loves we live
Hanging above dressers, that give
A sepia crown
Or a halo vague, as my memory
Failed one more time, my enemy
In this lost town.

I walked with heavy childish feet
Where galaxies of white Chervil towered
And asphalt ribbons did dance on air
dividing fields of early summer flowers
On that shimmering Tournant road
from Tynte Park cross to an iron hill
Blossoms in the June sunshine
staying so silent and peacefully still
Before me each cheating rise
a false promise to a child alone
With five shillings spent on a silver toy
to shoot black crows on my way home
Granite walls of the graveyard now behind
my burning feet soon rest on cooler slate
I will listen to the Stanley's hiss
and boil its sap with the last of that good light
I'd listen to the gentle swing, tick and tock
struggling to keep time on those balmy nights
While shadows eventually bury her black clock
As moths gather about her death stained light
Sit softly, soulfully, beside me on this striped swing .
Smelling my summer scented hair.
Speak, you, sweet sonnets of Shakespeare.
Set our souls, starship shimmering!"

9:35am.
Storm came, clouds thundered;
Ripples in water, shimmered to calm,
As sun peeped after!
what new plant is this
flowering bees this morning
and butterflies too?
running to and fro
a group of ants in action
searching for food
bathed in the sunshine
shimmering pools of water
pulsating with life
In moonlit dreams, the stars align,
Their shimmering dance, a cosmic sign.
Silent whispers weave through the air,
Echoes of wishes, secrets to share.
The night unfolds its velvet cloak,
As constellations softly invoke.
Stories of love, loss, and grace,
Painted across the vast celestial space.
So, close your eyes, my dear friend,
Let Stardust guide you, without end.
For in the quiet hours, magic takes flight,
And dreams come alive in whispers of the night.
We shine in the night,
We shimmer around the moon,
Along with planets.
Sails gliding on the shimmering sea,
don't be hasty to engulf silence
as the chapel's choir engages in a spiritual oratorio praising Him;
an octave higher or lower brings
their inspirational hymn to a desired sound of felicity...
those tones that the loud organ makes!
We, as they, are lifted by the sustenance of faith,
too pure and orthodox to extinguish our oneness of spirit;
adhering to rigid standards and beliefs...forbidding sin
to feed on its vain opprobrium and oppress purity!
We, as they, dwell in this oracle to outshine indefinitely,
and outreach every unreachable and unconquerable limit!
Sails gliding on the shimmering sea,
watch the advancing sunrays osculate the waves of the harbor,
and the optical images that reality conveys!
See the ospreys which learn their skill by osmosis...
that even the ovenbirds can't acquire;
hear the believers's proclamation presaging and predicating unity!
Irreverent and doubtful soul, don't pursue vanity:
don't be similar to a prancing horse that surprises the rider;
don't prattle when foolishness becomes a hangover!
You have put too much effort into exhibiting your valor...
hardly serving a purpose and be totally useful;
be like the sails gliding on the shimmering sea!

-Collab with Dan Kearley! You're the best, Dan!
I came upon a shimmering pond
And cast my line in deep
Set me down on the dock nearby
And dangled my aching feet
My mind goes back to earlier days
When in smaller ponds this boy did play
Where polliwogs were there to be caught
Before herbicides and pesticides wiped them all away
Now frogs no longer hop about for a determined boy to chase
Times when we strolled down quiet tree lined country lanes
Before streets with traffic lights came and took their place
A time when neighbors helped neighbors and folks had time to chat
Sunday dinner was a family affair with aunts, uncles and cousins there
A time when a gentleman met a lady he always tipped his hat
But that was then and times do change and I guess that’s alright
But one thing has not changed nary a bit
I still have not gotten a single bite.
A Sunny Winters day
Cool sun kisses skin.
Pastel coloured ocean
Shuddering salty sea
Pink apricot morning sky
Seaside meditation tape.
Rolling frothing waves
emerge at fast intervals
Driftwood on the shore
Gold sloping sand dune
Giant swirly starfish studs
Seagulls squawking high
Leopard jelly sea slugs
Spiky red rubbery corals
Glittering foam sparkles
Extreme low tide no wind
Cuttlefish , tiny shells
Haystacks of seagrass
Jelly baby jube aneama
Soft small gentle waves
sound like a waterfall
Seagull flock flying low
red rimmed pale eyes
breathing hole red beak
red webbed feet high
flushed to body in flight.
