A Modern Curse

I do not like your mobile phone.
I do not like its ringing tone.
I do not like it here nor there;
I do not like it any where.

I do not like it on a plane,
nor when I’m on a crowded train;
not in a bus, not in a car,
not even in a crowded bar.
I do not want to hear it ping
or, even worse, Madonna sing.

I do not like the sound of pop;
that wretched noise has got to stop.
So let me make this mighty clear,
your phone, I do not want to hear.
And, should it ever start to ring,
I’ll come and smash the wretched thing.

Dung On a Rung

Surly Sally slipped and lost a flip flop
at a hearty party in a bungalow with Billy.
while dancing and prancing to hip hop
whirling and twirling and spinning silly.

Can you reverse and remember the flop she flipped?
Well it ludicrously landed in the party punch bowl.
Nobody noticed while they slurped and sipped
and the dancers dipped and ripped and rolled.

They dipped, danced, pranced and laughed,
pirouetted, and sweated,
tipped and turned till totally daft.
Beer and booze abetted.

The next night they stayed sober and soloed somber.
Crashing and complaining Billy’s head hung,
both believed they’d been belted by a bomber.
Surly Sally swore she felt like dung on a rung!

Let this be a lurid logical lesson,
to those who think it’s only fun and frolick to abuse booze,
Or you too could be confessin’
And for lack of the light of this litany you’re liable to lose!

SOUP SAFARI
,      ,        ,        ,

here I am in NYC...packing after a safari –theme night party
with Soup members two nights ago, filled with awed revelry.
shrieks whistling on linked arms during a photo shoot,
as live cheers of Constance and Andrea went “ whoot!”

while Debbie and Michael hosted “Tag, you’re ‘It’ “games
bringing Nikko and Sara to compete in spelling members’ names…
I still remember Robert H. reciting his comic spiels, what a blast!
our jaws locked from clapping at Dr. Ram’s impromptu dance act,

till Kashinath segued into a sitar rap in his flashy jungle attire
prompting Linda to donate PM prizes, much to our hearts’ desire.
on our table, an exciting blend of brew amped repartee’s pitches
amused by Brian fleshing parts of short forms without glitches,

enter wacky Sydney applying geographic values to long verse usage
with footnotes on how worlds expand over time from poetic vantage,
oh, how Gwen sparkled with pleasantries as cups of jokes poured
most memorable of all, the warm personal shares of soupers' world

that drew us closer as real people with scraps here and there
recalling red-cherry days and funny bloopers’ wear and tear…

and as I leave from 8th street hailing a taxi to catch a plane,
notes and album tugged this heart, anticipating next gang’s chain.

Satan and Almighty God- Collab

You Suffocate Me with Darkness…

 ~Satan~

Lawless, deceiver

Perverting, accusing, murdering

Fallen angel, ruler of darkness, marriage destroyer

You stalk, you lie, you destroy, you steal my loved ones’ joy

You are the real loser

 in

The

 End

You permeate my life with prisms of warm sunshine…

~Almighty God~

Rejuvenator, love illustrator, galaxy maker, poem saver

Shepherding, protecting, sacrificing

Prince of Peace, Sea-calmer, our best friend

You came, you lived, you sacrificed your life

You

are

Black Birds Gather

Black birds gather....early in the morning....scooping up sunshine and singing to announce a new day....

Wings flapping in rapid succession....like waves of splendor....enthusiasm galore!

Black birds gather...my heart flutters a new beat...a tempo like none other...like the shininess of soft piano keys...your passion to sing enlightens me

Oh how I wish I could sing at the first shards of sunlight....how I wish I could fly around from tree top to tree top ushering in the new opportunity

I will do my best to do the same thing right down here with my mug of hot coffee!

How I love the NEW DAY!

Walking the Streets of Dayton

Walking the streets of  Dayton
Warning my city of the Lord’s soon arrival
Explaining the Mark of the Beast
And tribulation survival
What’s it gonna take to escape the things coming upon this earth?
I’ve been hearing stories about this time coming since my birth
All ears are peeled
Curiosity is peeked
The citizens of my city don’t want to be deceived
They don’t know who the Antichrist is
But they sure don’t like the President
Whenever his name is mentioned a sour look comes upon their faces
No matter who I speak with…
The Veterans, the widows, the elderly…
They say, “HELL NO! YOU’RE NOT GONNA PUT NO CHIP IN ME!”
They’re flaming mad and speak of rights and guns

This is my cause
This is my city
Their blood is on my hands
I must do what I am called to do
I must walk the streets of my city
Everyone must do their part to pave the way for the Messiah
Everyone must tell the masses what will happen if they are left behind
Don’t keep the truth from them
Let them have the raw facts
The U.N. troops are already here and they have their survival packs
The world leaders have their bomb shelters
And the little people have Jesus
Spread the gospel and love my city so they may escape all this
Destruction is coming, Dayton! Get your hearts right with the Messiah!
He is the only hope we have for tomorrow
He is on the other side of the sun rise
Repent and live holy
Surrender your will to the King
Get down upon your knees my neighbors
Make him your everything
What’s the Antichrist gonna promise you?
A drink of fresh water? Temporary shelter?
He only cares about killing off the human race quickly
And putting us all ten feet under
Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ
Be as wise as the Serpent and escape all these things!

A Leaf Fallen

a leaf fallen...

a leaf fallen to the ground cannot be placed back upon the branches of the tree...

a leaf fallen is separated from the nourishment of the trunk or the roots...

a leaf fallen can never be what it once was as it dries up and lies separated from its main source of energy...

its edges curled and the moisture being drawn like water from a well...

a leaf fallen is tossed and turned and blows with no direction from the wind...

it has no control over its destination...

it lies lifeless and abandoned, crunchy, and beneath the feet of the enemy...

a leaf fallen...

Still we are all thumbs

Really going to be our blight

Another chance is all we ask
Leave other tries in the past

Stop wait are we going to fast
Another let down have we cast

The Perfect Proposal

*The Perfect Proposal*

The perfect proposal
Just what would it be?
In a fairy tale life or in an enchanted dream
Three different scenarios I could see
And let him choose the one that fits him to a T

Popping the question over a picnic lunch in the Swiss Alps
A checkered tablecloth, simple fruit, cheese and crackers, and a sparkling wine
To be read poetry from the greatest of greats—Robert Frost or Shel Silverstein
Another option would be at an abandoned zoo
We could cuddle up in the lion’s den and count the stars in the open sky
And then swim in the aquarium with the dolphins too at the first peak of sunrise
And the final option of the perfect proposal would be standing at the pearly gates of heaven
Heaven is where all our dreams come true anyways
And heaven is where I am going to meet you after the next blood moon
So I sit here below a star studded sky and I thank the Lord for delivering me
I thank the Lord for second and third chances
I thank the Lord for ETERNITY

Taekwondo Competition

~~~Taekwondo Competition~~~
Taekwondo is in my blood
Every day I go into battle
I fight millions of fights when I am in my sleep
Sometimes I am challenged by raging demons…
Sparring with ease and gliding through the air
A jumping back pivot kick with the ease of butter
A pick kick is my most lethal weapon
A reverse roundhouse will push my opponent back
In three –three minute rounds of full contact
Anything can and will happen
At the end of a match the opponents shake hands
All in a day’s brave battle
For five long years undefeated in my area
And now I only fight in my dreams
One day when my youth is restored I will teach other kids
How to also overcome their demons
And I will help them keep score
All in a day’s brave battle
The Sick Zebra
A zebra looked in the mirror one day
His stripes were fading from black to green
His eyes looked sallow and his stomach upset
Like when he ate too much candy on Halloween
He took some brown paint and covered his green stripes
Remembering the color wheel from third grade art
Brown plus green equals a return to black
He looked in the mirror and said, “Gee whiz! I’m smart!”
The Three Days of Darkness
The Three Days of Darkness, A Poem
It is true this prophecy
That the mightiest things of God come in threes
There were three wise men and three sets of gifts
There were at least three apostles that loved to fish
There are three parts to the Almighty Godhead
And 3 days my Father in the tomb lay dead
It is true
He showed me his beautiful face in peace just lying there
It was a most angelic vision that he delivered to me
He wanted me to see the power of the number three
And that this prophecy is soon to come true
Three days of darkness is surely upon you, he said to me with his gentle voice
Three days of darkness for all of mankind
What will occur during these three days you might ask?
It will be the greatest treasure to the universe
For the Lord God Almighty and his precious Father will walk amongst the earth
They will meet with each and every citizen and give them one final chance
One final chance to see them face to face before the trump shall sound
He will say to his children, I Am the Messiah and I have been found by so many
Won’t you care to join me in my heavenlies?
I am giving you this final chance to make your allegiance to the One True God
It is I, Jesus Christ, that came down from my throne to set all of humanity free
It is I, Jesus Christ, that wants you to know how very sorry I am that the
enemy
Has wreaked such havoc upon this earth
I am coming soon in the clouds
Be thirsty for me
Much calamity is coming to your earth soon
It is only a matter of moments away
Won’t you please come into my presence this day
I am knocking on the door to your heart
And I want to make Myself known to all of mankind
I am giving you all one final chance
When you see the 3 days of darkness upon you
Gather your families and sing praises to me
There will be many evil things lurking about in the darkness
Stay in your homes and stay close to me
Claim the blood of Jesus Christ upon your doorposts
Claim the blood of Jesus Christ upon everyone you know
I am the Lamb that was slain for the sins of the world
This is a poem and this is a prophecy
Listen to the words of our Almighty God
He will use any method to get his words out to the masses
Even a lowly person like me
All hail the power of the name of Jesus Christ!
