Premium Member Eulogy For a Quarterback's Reputation

We're angry! What sports fan can blame us?

There hasn't been one loss for Jameis

     But off-the-field ruckus

     Makes sportscasters muck us

Once famous, now Jameis just shames us

*Written about former FSU quarterback Jameis Winston's run ins with the law.

Character and Reputation

Character is by far
An important part of who we are.
More important than
Your reputation can
Ever be.
But you see,
Some others would say I'm wrong,
And say that my song
Is a heap of lies,
But I'll always ignore their cries,
And stand by my words
As I soar with the birds.
So work not on your
Reputation but your character,
Reputation is others' thoughts of you,
But you should always be true
To the character that defines
The deepest confines
Of your being,
Giving your life meaning.

Premium Member Not a Snake But My Reputation At Stake

Wow, a 2nd camping trip,
Now please don’t flip,
How on earth did I agree,
After the snake and me,
My husband asked so nicely,
And explained precisely
Where we would go,
Not to the bush,
Where a snake lay in ambush!
So hitched up our boat,
To take to Loskop dam
It was the Easter weekend,
Campers began to descend,
We arrived it was almost night,
Hubby sent up our 5 star camp site,
Started our braai late,
Which was to be my embarrassing fate!
We ate heartily and enjoyed
A cariff of wine,
During our campsite dine.
Time for a shower,
Take note of our campsite number
Hubby said, for they all look alike
At night,
And please take this empty
Bottle and fill it with water.
Showered, filled the bottle,
Nervous, had to find the ablutions
in the dark,
Carrying a full bottle that looked like wine,
I got strange looks, wanted to scream
It isn’t mine,
And in any case,
This bottle has no wine!
Each camp site looked the same,
To find my husband was my only aim!
It was an embarrassing situation,
All I felt was a feeling of desolation!
Thought each Range Rover was ours,
I might as well have been on Planet Mars,
It felt as if I had been away hours!
Had not even taken my phone
Had to stop at a camp side and asked
If I could please loan
Their cell to make a call,
That is when I tripped and had a fall,
I called my husband in tears,
He realized immediately what had happened,
Which was one of his fears,
Came and helped me up,
As he was only two camp sites away,
It was my pride that was hurt,
Especially when a passing camper began to flirt,
This was going to be my last camping trip ever,
I exclaimed to hubby, a little pert!

Okay, I'm back to this innocent old dude
My reputation was in danger of being poopooed
I'm an okay Jack
Back on track
But can't promise I won't be once again crude

Refutational Reputation

What is a reputation?
What meaning does this word hold?
Seems a fickle, intangible thing.
Changes, as I fashion my mould.
Shifting sand serving foundation.
Island mansion housing past sin.
Life sentence of judgment.
A battle designed not to win.
Built on other people's judgement.
Erroneous and fallible, they may be.
Nobody can truly be happy,
without accepting self, truthfully.
Don't let others dictate who you are.
Reputation is an improvable theory.
Let principles be your guidlines.
They can answer the character query.
Reject the lie pushed upon you.
Another person's life-prison view.
Everything in life is dynamic.
Relative, and never the same for two.
They never have the whole story.
I could care less what others think.
Circumstances change faster
than a hummingbird can blink.
So spew forth my reputation.
It's something I don't believe in.
You have no idea where I'm going,
much less, where I begin.
Where I have been,
or with what I have to contend.
So, for your inkling of mentation.
Your summary of my living work.
I bring you my simple refutation.
You speak through your own murk.

Reputation

What is acquired gradually
Can be Lost so easily

It can be carefully cultivated
Becoming swaddled with flam
Precision engineered
Where everything goes to plan
Sugar covered and baseless underneath
Your retinue expands
The web of knowledgeable deceit you weave
Makes life sweet and you see no defeat

The wind of change
Can blow in as a storm
Its wholesome destruction
A mesmerising theatre
Where plans become aborted
As the mob comes a calling
A Rising star is dislodged
By those who can only love temporarily

Hypocrisy slays so easily
No one remembers the good old days
When they welcomed you lovingly
No one remembers how they turned a blind eye
When you acted so selfishly
No one remembers
Their complicity

Faith in you is now a faded memory
As condemnation explodes
Your self-created bubble
Where public disgrace is now your lasting legacy
Shame on you

Reputation, Splattered

The victims' blood is violently splattered,
As his reputation is totally shattered.
Sycophants to the hills have all scattered,
What happened in the past really mattered.

Reputation Deputation

I do so enjoy it when my reputation precedes me.
The humbling jest of it all seems to feed me.
I need not worry about delivering much,
My history gives little evidence of such.
If there’s a chance that I’ll be late…
Then figure that I will.
If I’m not, then enjoy the surprise
And call it a frill..
If I forget what I am to remember,
Be not angry,
But to my reputation surrender.
And if I don’t meet your higher expectation..
Smile: It’s all there in my sullied reputation.

Reputation Mind Tower

Reputation Mind Tower

Alumni alumnus refuses to let the truth to surface on a mirrored pond of
questioning students making efforts of understand just why they cannot advance
it is the tower. There is reputation of the men to be considered they send the best
minds of all the millions to be rulers. There is the tower. Just consider the men
the many evil men in power shooting weapons of destruction just to walk up the
staircases of the tower. In the elevator he has loaded his revolver to carry death
up to the tower. The upper room is the final test there is just one computer there
it is an image of the beast it blinks on and off saying 666 in burning letters and
now every devil wants to climb the tower is where every minion goes to battle.
Climb the ladder of successes work and slave for all those stresses and
someday you may climb up the staircases of my tower and be the beast who
rules the masses.

 Reputation
I marveled the emeritus recognition
I felt compelled to sniff the reputations
Somewhat louder than the tradition
I crave the silent, staple self-respect
My tribute, I could not awaken
I crave the conventional, Confucians credo
A notorious celebrity - that notorious celebrity
Somewhat louder than the libido
I crave the ancestry, acclaimed aphrodisiac
Mine reputation
Spans beyond information
Forth wit my education
Sanctions my situation
Covering my operations communication
Be it far from the nation
Generation’s evaluations interpretation
Amidst generational interpretation

Premium Member Bad Reputation

It takes less than 5 minutes to give yourself a bad reputation
and a lifetime to get rid of it if you're lucky.
Just a valued piece of wisdom I thought worth a mention.
You don't want a bad reputation haunting you the rest of your life constantly.

My Ruined Reputation Makes You Sing Soprano

Please don't give me a soft nudge
I am still holding a grudge
And will be for a while more
Lots of anger is in store
It's not gonna keep me calm
If you gently rub my arm
And give me puppy dog eyes
These notions and little tries
Is not helping me see past
The explosive hurtful blast
Of words you could not contain
There is no way to explain
The dynamite lies being heard
That are insane and absurd
You've been spreading way to often
My hearts hard and will not soften
Until my good name is clear
And I will no longer hear
How I rocked your world one day
My virginity taken away
By a stud who thinks he's cool
But he's just a stupid fool
Who's ruined my reputation
Now all of my concentration
Is being used on just one goal
Making sure I can control
The hatred for my dear lover
Will not burst out and brew over
Burning you like I was scorched
Never turn your back and watch
Every move that's being made
Believe me you will be paid
For the torture I've been handed
Ever since my life was stranded
With lies that were never real
Listen up cause here's the deal
Fix these rumors that destroy
Or you won't sound like a boy
Because your parts down below
Will get kicked as my knee flows
Upward at full intense force
Sending your voice way off course
Teaching you never to mess
With a young girls innocence
Making her not play too kind
When her reputations on the line
