Eulogy For a Quarterback's Reputation

We're angry! What sports fan can blame us?

There hasn't been one loss for Jameis

     But off-the-field ruckus

     Makes sportscasters muck us

Once famous, now Jameis just shames us

*Written about former FSU quarterback Jameis Winston's run ins with the law.

Hi Carolyn, I know absolutely nothing about college football, but I loved your limerick (my husband is a UM fan. He got it right away). Congrats on a great win in a tough contest! Hugs, Rhonda

Apparently crime does pay at FSU. Isn't Williams hearing for hit and run pushed back until after the bowl game and Winston's multiple hearings have been manipulated to assure he plays. He's never lost a game or a hearing. It's frustrating watching Winston, Manziel and a few others knowing there are kids out there who deserve to go to school but can't afford it. When you give a criminal free college and a big sports contract, all you have is a rich criminal.

Indeed, I must agree, Vince. Williams and Winston will settle their legal issues after the regular season ends. I'm hoping Mariota takes the Heisman this year. Seems like a good person as well as a good quarterback!

I've been following Winston's antics. You nailed it in the last line!

It wasn't pretty, but Jameis led FSU to a win over Miami on Nov. 15. (Sportscasters said they would lose. They say that about every FSU game.) The winning streak is now 26 games and Jameis has still never lost a game at FSU.

Hi Carolyn, Clever, well conceived and delivered. It is a touchdown for you but not FSU. Have a great week end. Take care. Earl

Almost a tongue twister on the last line Carolyn. I'm not a football fan so I'm glad you wrote underneath who he was, then I had the ahhhh factor. Well done Limerick
