Best Reign Supreme Poems

Premium Member To My Muse :POTD:

All night I was ensnared by the thought of you,
An unexpected yet enchanting muse,
Lost in the labyrinth of your deep, haunting eyes,
A smoldering ember of desire within me lies.

Your passionate whispers, a seductive symphony,
Unapologetic affection setting us both free.
To trace the trails of your warm, silken skin,
Knocking softly at your door, as you let me in.

Your embrace, a refuge from the chill of the night,
As we entwine beneath the moon’s silver light,
Breathless sighs and fervent moans,
You ascend atop me, you’re my queen and I’m your throne

In this nocturnal realm, you reign supreme,
A midnight monarch in a gothic dream.

*This simple acrostic combined with the photo and the song represent a message I've been preaching since my return, ie, Poets for Peace. A similar message can be found in my lyric - Song of the Poet, and my series of senryus - Winds of Change. We live in a world that is fractured and splintered like never before. Hatred, bias, suspicion, accusations and so on are the order of the day. My sincere hope is this place we call Poetry Soup can become a haven, a place of rest and peace. May this be your prayer as well.

Poetry Soup is the place to be
Art's on display for the world to see
Revolution's now in progress
And the future is clear
Do unto others
Is the message we bear
Grace is the way forward
May all present give ear

Solidarity, I believe
Humans long to achieve
Isolation brings sorrow
For a better tomorrow
Tolerance and kindness are key

let love and peace reign supreme

Something is a brewing in the yeast war
The Vegemite team has grown
Can you hear our roar?

There’s a band of Aussie ladies
Vegemite Vixens we are called
Just comparing Marmite to Vegemite
We are totally appalled……

Anne Sangster is second in charge
In case anything happens to me
At the hands of Marmites leader the evil Tom C

Shirley Hawkins, Christine Watts and Betty Ladd
Are the “mitey” Vegemite Vixens team
Here to make sure Vegemite continues to reign supreme

So grab your knives and toast
Take the lid of your jar
Come out of hiding Marmite Man
Wherever you and your army are!!!

A Raven's Thirst - Part 1

I

Aloft, from highest cliffs o’er icy seas,
upon great wings of arrogance and pride,
the raven whispers soft, on ocean’s breeze,
notes cloaked with charm to lure his future bride.

In midst of kith, to sate his lust, he vies
to reign supreme, and bathes in self-adore.
Magnificence against cool ashen skies,
yet ‘neath the husk, so rotten to the core.

As shallow suns recede and rise anew
day after day, still beats his heart alone.
One frigid night the moonlight's silver hue
imparts the word his reveries have flown…

and so upon this night is hatched a plan,
to seek his bride he takes the form of man.

Enemies Defined

Valiant we stand over enemies defined
The lives we laid down weigh heavy on our minds

Years of defiance, hatred and pain
The countless dead like drops of rain

Death and destruction, toil and despair
Fear from above as bombs fall through the air

War is defined as living in hell
to settle misgivings to which were compelled

Casualties of war, refugees in flight
Mothers embrace children as they cry in the night

War is a festering disease with nary a cure
Peace is a blessing we all can endure

let hatred end and peace reign supreme
before the world as we know it becomes only a dream

Element of Earth

Oh, Element of Earth, true gift
     of solid mass on which we stand;
with gravity forced by your spin,
     stability is well at hand.

You are the womb that births our needs:
the fertile soil from which we're fed,
to shelter from your lofty trees...
and place to rest when life has ebbed.

You are Earth mother we hold dear
that cradles all upon your crust.
Dense elements you gift to us
like crystals, diamonds and gold dust.

Dear mother Earth, so great you are;
with Sun and Moon, you are a team.
Held fast in our great galaxy...
     Earth element, you reign supreme.

Upon your sphere, we live our lives;
all that we need will come from you.
Both you and we came from the stars;
we are connected through and through.

Premium Member Villanelle: Five Yin Lines On November 6th Overcome the Top Yang Line

Villanelle : Five Yin lines on November 6th overcome the top Yang line

(Bo, Hexagram 23 (November 6 to December 6): The mountain falls down on the earth and crushes it.
Result : neither side wins completely, only broken bones, bruises, bumps and bleeds in evidence all around.
Guai, Hexagram 43 (May 6 to June 6) : The situation is reversed. Total victory for those who emulate the Superior Man of the Yi Jing.

Solution : Re-do the electoral calendar - May 6 instead of November 6.)

Five Yin lines on November 6th overcome the top Yang line
Yet the Yang and Yin toil and tussle and leave their feathers shorn
On May 6th five Yang lines reign supreme and oust the lone Yin line

Thunder in autumn rolls down plains hushed in grumbles feline
Zhen the Eldest Son will wake strong in spring resounding new born
Five Yin lines on November 6th overcome the top Yang line

In temperate climes in the northern hemisphere the Laws confine
Both the Yang and the Yin within the Year of Seasons foregone
On May 6th five Yang lines reign supreme and oust the lone Yin line

The electoral calendar then makes both parties anodine
Destined always to quarrel and plunder each other's platform
Five Yin lines on November 6th overcome the top Yang line

Heaven and Earth toil to produce conflict no matter which the line
Hexagrams depict the family constellation all forlorn
On May 6th five Yang lines reign supreme and oust the lone Yin line

Reign of Darkness recedes as winter solstice Light begins to shine
Then the Good in Man if cultivated will thunder and storm
Five Yin lines on November 6th overcome the top Yang line
On May 6th five Yang lines reign supreme and oust the lone Yin line

Leading a Happy Life Via Reading

Reading alone gets wit and wisdom,
Wide reading increases knowledge,
We can learn a lot by that process,
That only paves the way for growth.

We must make a note of all the books
That World calls as a treasure to hold
And we must acquire them shrewdly
And widen our knowledge brilliantly

As one grows, reading gets narrowed
For innumerable reasons to quote
Main is poor eyesight that blocks
One's reading power immensely

One easiest way to grasp the essence
Is by reading the quotes of great men,
Their distilled wisdom when is learned,
Our wit reaches its pinnacle admirably

Quotes are made with greatest thought
To tell the longest story in few words,
The time taken to read them is less,
We can read at any time, anywhere!

Reading a large number of super quotes
Rinses brain in the ocean of philosophy,
We become great masters of thinking,
Our words contain the best ideas easily

When one grows aged, strain is more,
Especially the eyes lose their power,
Endurance is also seriously affected,
Under such a condition, quotes help

Brief quotes easily remove one's grief,
They stun the World by their simplicity,
By mastering them, we reign supreme,
Our mind is filled with enormous wit

So, reading big books is no doubt fine,
If we have the power and proper mindset,
But, reading quotes will bring huge rewards,
Just twenty of them will elevate our thoughts

Reading habit must be ever continued,
We must constantly develop our brain,
We must equip it for doing useful acts,
Reading is the basis for any great feat!

Premium Member Sweetheart Don'T Dream

Listen my dove, to the lulling music
of Gounod’s Ave Maria.
Hear the soft brushing of the bow
against the perfectly tuned violin strings,
vibrating tenderly and lovingly.

So hearken, my little dove
but don’t dare to dream.
For dreams are all illusions
Never meant to be.

Avoid futility, for dreams
are part of our innermost desires
that is, alas, beyond our means.
In this ugly sick world of ours,
real love should reign supreme,
with such a weapon only
we can conquer the arrows
that outrageous fortune throws at us.

Be strong, look forward to life,
even if it is somehow short.
And though it may seem rather slow.
There is always a silver-lined cloud
that glitters after a timely shower.
Aim for it until the day
when you develop wonderful wings
to fly to heavenly everlasting dreams,
Where you’ll hear Gounod’s music again.

King of the Nocturnal

Never a foe, life made you so.
Gazed at me from head to toe
as darkness sees light through the Owl.
Your nature is a rhetorical "how".
I sort for you during day time.
A visit, I hope isn't a cold crime?
How 've you became fugitive oh nocturnal bird?
Daylight curiosity got me lividly lured.

You reign supreme at night like darkness,
they proclaim you as their highness,
Though certainly not the finest,
your eyes are well fed to the fullest.
Your fate hides you in nature's wound,
a confinement where you grudgingly brood,
not free to rule all day as you should
just as the Crepuscular species.

I found you in your fortress of distress
longing to see you like a dearly mistress.
Can't love you as much as I wanna fly high;
Life's laid a poignant juxtaposition betwixt you & I:
My wings and feathers mimicks pretty,
your color like grey-tailed tattler looks filthy,
your daylight attendance is such a pity.
Though we belong to the same specie

our fondness ends up totally mashy.
Oh dear Owl, allies of moonlight,
ghost of day, vigilante of the night,
you shall always be dwellers of height.

Premium Member Fear Not, My Friend

As the sun sets on a teeter-tauter week
  Prospects may seem dauntingly bleak
Millions upon millions out of work
The ubiquitous virus wears a smirk

Consternation, frustration
  both reign supreme
A deeply divided nation
  dares not dream

Fear not, my friend
For in heaven the course is set
We know not what the tide brings
Fish trapped in a wider net

May this, my simple prayer
   please fill the air
May it reach far-flung lands
   all people, everywhere

May no child cry
   for lack of caring
Nor may there be hunger
   for lack of folks sharing

May needless suffering cease
   from rapacious wars and disease
May acts of kindness increase
   and help bring about peace

May Truth reign supreme
   lies and deception all end
May our hearts be raised upward
   the Messiah He soon send

Premium Member What Would Jesus Do

Dragon's back! It’s Easter Time and, Yes; we’re going to church today...
Right after the Easter Egg Hunt. Ostrich eggs were perfect, for Dragon, I say…
The Trolls worked at painting them, all night. They wanted them perfect., for sure.
Psychedelic colors seemed to reign supreme. Yes… with lots of crazy bling! De Jure!

Grandpa Troll’s carrying the BIG basket that his penguins decorated in ribbons strung!
His penguins got to go on the egg hunt, too It’s their first, but each picked, only one.
They couldn't understand eating eggs so we gave them chicks, that will hatch, so…
It’s off to church we go, cowboy best for the penguins, tending their eggs as they go.

Dragon has his 'Dragon Hood' cape with yellow bib overalls, totally covered in bling!
Beside himself, till we said he could go. Now he's jumping up and down, as he sings!
He's going to church, for he needs all the help he can get, along the way, true.
We're trying to instill, ‘What Would Jesus Do’. Strengthen his character ideas, too.

But HE thinks he's already a STRONG character, and it's given him great success!
Don't think he understood, what strength of character means, so his soul, God Bless!
So what's next, he ask?... Gee! Taking the kitty down from the curtains would be nice.
You SCARED her there! Remember! When you jumped up and down, once or twice!

NO! You can't burn the curtains to get her down! Gee! I think he’s MISSING the point!
She’s going to church to light a candle for you… to help you find… a better viewpoint.
Remember, in life… Make love not War. Make Friends! After all… What would Jesus Do?
Kitty is TOO important! I'll read you a fable 'The Lion and the Mouse', after Church, too.

No! He didn't squish the mouse! Sigh! Think harder… THINK! WHAT WOULD JESUS DO!
Hope it's an up hill battle. More likely he'll fly over this hill, between, just me and you!
He LOVES church and after his last visit, they rebuilt the church, which was… assured!
They built our group our own SPECIAL section… Of that, you can definitely, be sure!

The church thought, for a very long time, but with a sigh, they knew…WWJD?!!!
Then prayed some more as they cried, at the thought, of what Dragon could do…
In the end, they built a fireproof room, for no matter what they though, to be true…
They knew Dragon is Gods little lost lamb and that’s just “What Jesus Would DO!’

Happy Easter to You!

Land Rover Range Rover

This is my dedication

I am legend, so just push the start
I will save your family, so just call me Noah's ark
A pause on time as they show gratitude to the craftsmanship
1970 they created me, randomly introduced companionship
I transported the elite, by the way I still do
Range Rover was the name they gave me, so I said I do
It's been 44 years, V-6 or V-8, it maintains the same philosophy
I personify admiration; we read while it's in motion your Autobiography
Oh I forgot, HSE and Supercharged are other alternatives to what you can call me
Each with its legendary design and trim, okay enough about me
I send this invitation to honour me by occupying the rear seats
Yes, the Executive-class individual rear seating, those seats
Offering grand motoring while you show off your wealth
Those who pursue me grasp my worth
My capabilities engraved and stamped off-road
I reign supreme as they make way for me on the road
Take a bet; you can't go wrong with the horse power I possess
6 or 8 speed with pedal shifters, I ask you to regress
Allow me to grace your eardrums with the Meridian sound system
View what lacks around you with a surround camera system

I represent the fourth generation but my history remains intact
I had a conversation with my sister earlier, Evoque, she's compact
We agreed that we are timeless, absolutely classical
Should we pass on, our images are imprinted, just absolutely magical

    "Highlights of New Jersey"

New Jersey is quaintly known as the Garden State for fun
with sandy beaches kissed by ocean waves beneath golden Sun
amusement parks and midway piers stream wooden boardwalk
arcades offer magic machines with flashing lights that talk.

boat rides on blue Atlantic coast and fishing by the bay
surfing upon white capped waves as marble tourneys play
shopping at the mini malls, stopping for frosty treat
funnel cake or snow cones to alleviate the heat.

racing monster wheels doing 'wheelies' in beige sand
as lovers stroll the promanade in love while hand in hand
bed and breakfast hideaways to feed the appetite
miniature golf on hotel rooftops close to the Moon at night.

Memories in Margate with The Geeter With the Heater*
Convention Center marathons for dancers digging beaters
casino trips for tourists and residents alike
a visit to the Cape May Zoo or riding cool mountain bike.

roadside stands selling vegetables and fruits
plants and flowers beautiful from full grown or from roots
the scenic drive through highways or back roads share greenview
still munching on hot Curly's fries in circled crunchy chew.

a seashore paradise and a Summertime resort
with Christie at the helm with a positive report
museums of great art and historical conquests
a friendly atmosphere New Jersey loves to welcome guests.

sports reign supreme, with many choices of teams to cheer
fans follow scores from near and far in sports clubs drinking beer
good education for all children schools excellently rated
and seniors are protected in communities so gated.

a native of the Garden State am proud to boast and say
once you visit all the magic places to take your breath away
even Hurricane Sandy could not dissuade the residents
everyone joined in unison to assist with dire events.

New Jersey towns will build again in love with this great State
positive outlooks count so much .. even erases hate
and when we lay our heads down at night to pray
we thank God for His blessings in a very special way.
