Premium Member Morning Mist

The mist swirls through the deep vale
shifting slowly and giving glimpses
of the lush vegetation and flowers.
Slowly it dissipates in dawn's sunlight.

Teasing as it lazily drifts
showing for a brief second
a colourful bank rife with flowers.
Then blankets it from sight.

As the day warms up
it appears to thicken
then yield oh so slowly.
Wisps of mist now fading.

Before our eyes lies
startling beauty.
Nature's riches displayed
a wealth of orange and yellow.

Pinks, purples and blues vie
each more beautiful
and lavish green trees
gently shade the saplings.

The Treasure of Nature's Canvas
is now stretched out before us
while the birds happily sing
as they rush to build their nests.

Insects buzz with joy as they collect
the pollen and nectar from flowers.
In this new spring day
life itself is reaffirmed.

Of Isis Love Lament...

Oh of Isis love lament
Raging against Ra’s morning light
Where could the time have went
Racing through the desert night

And by the gods of Karnak
We bow to let their power in
And make a solemn promise
To return time and time again

Now to meet my princess
On the banks of the Nile
To embrace forever more
Never to lose my lovers smile

Blessed by the gods
Granted and gifted light
On our lips a promise
And then we rush into the night

Of gay Paris’s happenings
Oui, oui I do recall
That covered balcony
That overlooked it all

The torrid love affair
In the heat of passion true
An ancient promise kept
Memories along the rue

And then I met my lover
Well down by the shore
On the banks of the Seine
We embraced each other once more

Granted and gifted light
Our passions wildly burn
And once again my love
We submit to the nocturne

Flores De la Noche
How they do intoxicate
As I stand so anxiously
Aside a Spanish lake

And then my lover’s face
Graced with “luce a lun”
Our vows reaffirmed
And not a moment too soon

For there on the banks
Of the lake Asturias
The strength of our promise
Is there to carry us

And then as before
We’re graced and gifted light
In the favor of our Father
We go once again into the night

And here we stand today
Reunited yet again
Same love and same heart
Only under a different skin

And on a beach Pacific
From a distance I see my love
And I give thanks and praise
To the mighty One above

Meeting brings us round again
To fulfill our ancient ties
This I knew the very moment
That I gazed into your eyes

For once again the gods
Have granted and gifted light
And our promise afresh fulfilled
We go perpetually into the night

Annie, our Golden, is a member of the family
Just like a daughter, it's really uncanny
After going out upon our return
Our love's enthusiastically reaffirmed
Her excitement explodes, our dearest sweet Annie

Premium Member The Trials of Meretrix Canto V

Here, this day, on this inglorious
Field
Thy vain struggles will count no
Valour.
All hope now abandoned,
Imminent defeat unconcealed;
Erstwhile countenance display
Such waxen, languid pallor.
Surround by your dwindling
Forces
Ye will but sadly find...
That the stout keep of your
Valiant fortress is all but breached,
Once strong foundations failing -
Wherest badly undermined!

For a rigorous examination beckons
ye;
Stood before impassioned jurors
Chosen from the feared and all
Powerful families of the ignoble
Medici.
Black curtains drawn back from
Deep reveals
That look out over the enlightened
Years...
Where conceals...
Hidden between leafs of peremptory
Decree:-
A blight spread upon these lands,
Inflicted from Romes insidious
Plans -
That cause stain upon the
Renaissance of a golden century!

When clapping thunder breaks and
Brazen lightening clashes
Still I would know ye again:
A pounding, frenzied reflex devoid
Of all Godly purpose -
Detached from any amount of
Blame!
For I have sought ye out, O lowly
Meretrix;
Heaping upon you with bondage
Enforced through servitude and
Shame;
And I, O lowly Meretrix,
I...hereby command thy name.

A fastidious Advocate of intellectual
Character
Shallst I elect,
He who be a practitioner of
Theological proposal unrefrained,
To represent you -
Raised from the rank files of the
Dead and slain!
A public gallery, wherest seated,
Ghostly phantasms
That I purposefully select;
And for a judge - A deathly one:
Ill measured, worshipfully detached,
Beneath it all,
And hopelessly arcane.

This "Innocent" fool, dressed in
Guise of highest ecclesiastical
Enforcer,
Perpetuated a medieval Inquisition,
Both protracted and prolonged,
That openly boasted and rejoiced
In its zealous slaughter!
Thereby spawned a terrible edict -
"Ad Extirpanda":-
Cannon law that advocates the
Use of "Legitimate torture"!

Know thee also, Meretrix, the Pius
Pontiff,
Heaven sent,
Who in his greater wisdom
Convened over
The council of Trent:
Four hundred years spanning
Across a Reformations fears;
Reaffirmed when Pope John,
In reflective reiteration,
Was heard to chillingly hiss:
"What was...Still is"!

TO BE CONTINUED...

Premium Member The Island

Many moons ago the island was born
spewed up in a volcanic eruption
it was perfectly formed out of rock
five nautical miles from the mainland

A barren isle with no life on it
visited sometimes by birds and seals
over time the dung from them all
provided a base for tender shoots

There was but one stream here
which flowed from the towering rocks
cascading joyfully down into a pool
a stunning splash of viberant blue

Around it started to appear flora
the seeds carried in by the birds
were now taking root and tranforming
life now has a grip which in time flourishes

The barren island soon attracted life
first the birds who started nesting
in the newly grown lushious trees,
their songs bringing musical sounds

Then came the many different insects
most importantly the honey bees
fertilising starting new species
covering the land with lush greenery

Gradually the animals swam over
getting busy finding homes
now the island was flourishing
gay sounds breaking the long silence

Here nature has triumphed over all
transforming a bare rocky isle
life has been yet again reaffirmed
from nothing comes a veritable paradise

Man attracted visits collecting eggs
fishing the shores and lakes
Yet none set down roots here
there is a strangeness that unsettles

Instead they use it for worship
and for their native burials
for they had knowledge of nature
this was not for man to spoil

All was well in our island paradise
until white men found this little gem
desecrating the graves and plundering
the island until it was almost bare

Furious witch doctors set a curse
that night screams could be heard
the natives huddled together shaking
by morning, deep silence reigned

Looking out to the island
they saw new razor sharp reefs
completely surrounding the island
Nature had reclaimed her masterpiece

Embracing a Dream

I knew you were someone very special
When I embraced your lovely smile today
I knew because of its perfect beauty
I wanted more moments like this to stay

Filling my day with an enchanting beauty
Making my former thoughts easily replaced
For I found myself floating on air today
When I was swept away by your lovely face

I found my mind was easily captured
And my thoughts were no longer my own
My heart was beating very rapidly
As I began dreaming of making you my own

Like the leaves falling throughout Autumn
So I also found myself easily swept away
By a refreshing wind leaving me so helpless
Easily filled with a desire for you to stay

I knew I had to find new ways each day
So that you might for a moment notice me
For since the first moment I saw you
I found my heart would never again be free

I had to choose the perfect time and place
Where we might be able to sit side by side
So I might have the chance to let you know
How much I really wanted you to share my life

I found each night when I would try to sleep
The vision of your smile would keep me awake
And my many dreams would be so beautiful
As within each I would feel your embrace

I begin to realize what I had hoped for
Would one day soon become so very real
And the first moment your hand touched mine
That second for my heart and mind was ideal

That love had found a very lovely place
Within my wanting heart that special day
For the blessing of your genuine smile
I found days later in my life would stay

The blessing which really happened days later
As the soft beauty in your face embraced me
Was totally reaffirmed in a single instant
When you said you also shared the same dream.

Premium Member Fluffy, the Fuzzy Bunny Ballad

Hopping across fields of happiness
Early-morning Fluffy rejoices in the edibles of earth
Glowing white and pearly, a real spunky bunny
Points her petite, pink nose upward to daylight’s boundless birth

Fluffy personifies cute, cuddly impulsiveness
Jumping skyward when she perceives birds
A teeny-weeny bunny feels like eating something yummy
And unearthed veggie delights are preferred

Adorable Fluffy hops to kids with contentedness
To be petted by children moving back and forth
Catching their gazes requires Fluffy to be jumpy
While competing with their laughs to be heard

Dancing grasslands and flowers evoke merriness
In the wind, requiring Fluffy to be alert
Watching the merry bunny nibble food is so funny
Then away she goes, sneaking under the fence, undeterred

Fearless Fluffy, famous for her choosiness
For natural treasures that she’s unearthed,
Her earthly bounty provides the sunny
Orange carrots as reimbursement.

In springtime, Fluffy displays fuzziness
Fennel, hay, crisps, and zucchini are her preferred
So, when fuzzy Fluffy plays joyfully in the country
This dancing cottontail will hide the chicken’s eggs for disbursement

Throughout the rabbit kingdom, coats of arms are emblazoned with sunniness
Warming her boundless heart
Fluffy is undoubtedly a lucky bunny
Living life lovingly, lighthearted and reaffirmed

Mundanely divine!

It's Your Birthday

It is more profound
Than one might surmise.

Is it fate, karma...is it providence?
What has determined the date and time?...

That very moment
We make our grand entrance...

Into this world?

And to revisit the date
A self-imposed holiday...

As surely as the tides flow
As the season's change...

How glorious.
How well you've navigated...

The perils and pitfalls.
How determined you are...

To leave this world a better place.
Reaffirmed every 365th

What gift could I give
That you haven't already achieved

Other than my acknowledgment and praise...
My time and my love?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Once Again

I like to read a book just once,
No matter how I like it;
So when I finish, from my list,
I’ll go ahead and strike it.

The same applies to Broadway shows –
One time is quite enough;
If I go back again, it seems
It’s just not up to snuff.

For movies, though, this won’t apply,
Or certain TV shows.
When favorites hit the screen, I’m glued;
That’s just the way it goes.

Today I went against my rule,
(A habit I should fix)
So we saw “Once” a second time
(My husband had cheap tix).

It reaffirmed that I should always
Take my own advice,
For seeing “Once” just once was great;
I overdosed on twice.

Premium Member Saint Francis

Saint Francis of Assisi, (name at birth was Giovanni)
had a way with mother nature that to all seemed quite uncanny.
His voice alone would bring the birds to settle at his feet
and listen to his sermons, in the forest, which was sweet.

Within the town of Gubbio, a Wolf preyed on the folk
until our hero cornered it and to it gently spoke
wherein it lay before him and then followed him to town
and the townsfolk fed him daily, thus the body count went down.

This kind Monk's caring nature is a lesson for us all
mankind must act responsibly, reaffirmed by Pope John Paul.
My tenet since my baptism has always been to care
for all of God's creation (except slugs, which I can't bear)

So, since Lord, you're all seeing and all hearing, which is good
I have a question for you, please now tell me, if you would,
Lord, answer this, strengthen my faith and cast away my doubt
Why I keep finding pigeon poo on the laundry I've hung out?

Fairy Tale

You woke something that had slept for a thousand years
Wrapped deep in thorns and history
You gave me something real
Currents that could never be fathomed
The tidal waves engulfed me
You reaffirmed something that I always knew existed
Filled in the gaps with crayola
You made it seem so simple
You are everything I am not
And you’re all that I am

Voices

And jesus gave us freedom
From our past sins
So we took our souls to god
And asked him
“how to keep a soul clean?”
And in his silence we heard our answers
And when we preached them to the rest
In his absence
You heard our conviction
And our faith was reaffirmed
In the hearing of our own words
And the silence of god.

The leaves on the silver birch flutter
in the gentle breeze first silver then green
all around the fruit trees slowly growing
heavy as fruits swell and start to ripen

The flower buds break open in glorious colour
white scented flowers of mock orange rife
honey blossom cascading down walls
while sweet peas climb ever higher

Summer hot and sultry shows her face
to the earth's stunning painted canvas
and life once more renewed and vital
as all around us everything flourishes

Premium Member Help Me, I Can'T Breathe

Knee on my neck
Help me, I can't breathe
Not a move was made
No help received

Another life lost
Reason matters not
No remorse for the action
Regret only, we got caught

White is a color
Black is a crime
To long the injustice
Open your mind

Together we must come
United we must stand
Color has it's privilege
Equality it must demand

Turn the other way
No place in this fight
Live freely without fear
Everyone's right

Help me I can't breathe
Sit with his words
Turn privilege into action
Be the change reaffirmed
