Premium Member Hold On To Prized Ways

As people start to age wisdom gains an edge
Regrets wish to reassess to honor old pledge
Memories once sour, clamor to turn a page
Wisdom gains an edge as people start to age

Truth that once was remains the guiding light
Stars that twinkled then still sparkle bright
Departures from veracity mount a bold pause
Remains the guiding light, truth that once was

Past manifests anew when future looks bleak
Reminiscing old revelry when grief tries to peek
Cherishing pleasant thoughts wishing to renew
When future looks bleak, past manifests anew

Hold on to prized ways when life gives a test
Conquests aren't easy when aiming for the best
Doctrines beholding virtue are worthy of praise
When life give a test, hold on to prized ways

Premium Member My Teapot - Prized Refrain

This teapot, chipped and faded,
brings memories so dear,
of friendships made and secrets shared,
while sipping its fine brew.
This teapot chipped and faded.

Prized Possession

Prized Possession

When was it that society and religion
Became so afraid of the sexuality of women

Or was it just men who became afraid

Trapping and turning beauty into ***********
To suit the idealism of a capitalistic
Ideology
Made women its prized possession

There was once spiritual prowess in her nakedness
Once long ago
The symbol of womb and breast
Gave birth to life

And a possession was once the sexual expression
Of both women and men
Connecting
Copulating
In an essence of a spiritual unity
Defined by the pleasure both received
In giving to life

So how did sex become a sin
Dirtied by morals
And then sold in a tin
Of instant readily affordable self gratification
When did your own sexuality
Become a commodity
For them to sale

And poor Eve, lead mankind to ruin
And she alone made responsible for the fall from Eden
So shall she pay the price in cultural centuries
Of Christian and Muslim oppression

Such is the weakness of men
That by muscle alone defends them
Such is the weakness of men
That their God must of course; be a man
Such is the weakness of men
That in the face of beauty
It must be their possession

Such is my contempt of those men
Who cannot comprehend
Where their own lives began
And who’s wives and daughter now exists
In a poor excuse for love and worship
Trapping and turning beauty into ***********
To suit the idealism of a capitalistic
Ideology
Made women its prized possession

Premium Member Prized Pickles

persians pickled
firm and crunchy,
thin and pint size -
spice them with little red flakes
and briny water.
pack them side by side
in a sparkling jar.

twist, pop that top,
fork-stab those
puckery suckers.

serve:
alongside a sandwich -
perhaps a plump pastrami
or
with dumplings drizzled
with thick and savory gravy
or
combine spears with choice cheese
on an appetizer plate,
pleasing to the palate.

experience the hiss, the crunch,
the sluice of slipperiness —
the bumpy pleasantly-green dill.

The Most Prized of All Virtues

Not valued as gold which still glitters when covered with dust,
honesty is the most prized of all virtues that define one's spirituality;
and if all practiced it, others would give many glances of trust:
who has known an honest person who was actually deceived by vanity?

Abraham Lincoln was one of those people,
and our society should follow his example;
if something is not earned, it can't be enjoyed...
conscience is a voice that cannot be ignored.

A thief knocks down an old lady and snatches her purse;
he runs to hide where nobody finds him to avoid prison...
whatever made him do it, he will not escape from justice,
or his conscience that will make him weep as children.

Be fair in everything you do, keep your honesty and try to be wise;
you will be surely remembered as someone who didn't cheat to rise.

Premium Member Elmer Fudd Goes Hunting For A Prized Turkey Happy Thanksgiving Dear Writers

Elmer Fudd went hunting for a big prized Turkey.
A Big Gobbler he heard, Gobble near an Oak Tree..
He aimed his rifle, fired a shot!
Missed, Fell back, landed on his butt!
The Turkey saw, ran, and laughed uncontrollably!

I wish everyone a festive
Thanksgiving with family
and friends. Stay safe
out there, enjoy your tasty
meals, and give thanks
for this joyous occasion.
God bless everyone and all
you love...

My Prized Possession

My prized possession

Held near and dear everyday
Blessed an precious in every way
More expensive then any amount of money
More precious then any diamond
My prized possession, I finally found him
A blessing in disguise that plays the role of many men
No man or woman can compare to him
My prized possession
His touch so gentle
His skin so soft
My prized possession, can’t be bought at any costs
From his head to his toes
Perfect as far as perfection goes
My prized possession
Given to me, and he’s mine all mine
Loving his even caramel skin, and his dark brown eyes
My prized possession is here for me to keep
Because I locked him inside my heart
And have threw away the key

A Treasure More Prized Than Gold

A friend may not call you every day
Or even email you once in a while.
But a momentary thought of them
Brings to your face a little smile.
The times you laughed until you cried.
The times you cried and held on fast.
A fleeting emptiness that comes when
Too much time has long since passed.
In a lifetime many friends are made.
Some drift away or are lost in time
For those who’ve stayed by your side
There is a bond shared in this rhyme.

To all new friends both new and old,
A treasure more prized than gold.

Premium Member Prized Normalcy

Winter Solstice
Placed earth
On its path toward new spring
Pray longer, sunny days lead to
Brighter hopes
Of rebirthing-
Prized normalcy.

Hugging family
Meeting friends
Breathing pure air without a mask
Sitting at church to worship, pray
Full classrooms
Kids mingling-
Prized normalcy.

No anxieties
Becoming ill
Loving fine meals at a restaurant
Happily going to our jobs on-site
Attend theaters
Sports events-
Prized normalcy.

Premium Member Prized past preferential

We found a way to mesh bordering on perfectly sequential
A widening variation of discovery; in a world I thought inconsequential
This investment is based solely on our long-term potential
In culmination of what matters to me; seen within your vast deferential
Maybe there really is something more than amicably existential?
Affection for you is essential,
Leaving nothing inferential,
Focused the quintessential,
Affection rain-like torrential,
Compounding is exponential,
Prized past preferential,
Affection so reverential
