Best Photogenic Poems
Dark skin,brown eyes,broad nose,
Handsome,from head to toes,
Very fashionable,wearing the latest cloths,
Full of vibes,got crazy flows,
Photogenic,see my album,crazy pose,
Not average,rated among the pros,
Love by many, feared by my foes,
Cherished by the ladies, not bragging,God knows,
Love my kids, very dear to me,
Love my life, very clear to me,
Positive thoughts I give to thee,
A better world I would like to see,
If that's not what you want, let me be,
Enjoying my life,in the arms of the Almighty....
An expression of allegiance to the image in one's eye
A vow to never forsake thee even with a miniature lie
Or even a blemish to the bond that our souls share
Believers need not a dream nor a single prayer
The obstacle of faith is believing without seeing
And the beauty is the truth that one is being
Being this imaginary image my eyes have never seen
Making me trust that one's hands remain clean
Free of all impurities and trouble that seems to follow
Preventing this heart from a hole so deep and hollow
Or killing a dream filled with optimism for tomorrow
And consistent in every way and not just words you borrow
More than devotion, something like a promise from the heart
A commitment to thee that this joy shall never depart
And drain the evil thoughts so that they no longer flow
Only the King of the mountains in the celestial skies above can truly know
That the words which provide me with comfort are authentic
Not just false portraits of happiness pretending to be photogenic
Or fabrications misleading the naive and the blind
But giving contentment to this confused mind
Leading one away from the thought of destruction and disaster
Establish my faith the same way as my pastor
Make one feel like there is only I and no other
Build this trust so high that belief can go no further
Uncover your words and leave no mask
Because your faithfulness is all that I ask

For Nature Four in One Contest
By John Moses Freeman
Interconnectedness
Life with all its twisted
Train wrecks
Contorted metal
grappled around
steel, disfigurement.
And at the heart
of it all, I want to crash
with you. Be a witness
to your incriminating truth
Twisted in ways
censorship can't explain
Remove stop signs at intersections
and T Bone with you,
Bleep certain words
as I drive right through
Swerve on curves
Creep through school crossings
and race towards
Photogenic finishes
Connectedness
like snowfall on Georgia freeways
cautiously making incredible
feats of disbelief
writing under the influence
of you, hard to avoid
your touch even following
the six second rule.
I want to rub paint with you
have fender benders
and crash our bodies in ways
our spirits become unrecognizable
as to who belongs to who...
Remember how intersection negotiations
and lane integrity created anxiety
when you first learned to drive?
Collide
Among Solomon’s first love commands in the book of his Song of Songs,
He adjures the young maidens by the gazelle, and how charm makes them strong.
For the gazelle is a gorgeous creature with beauty and unequalled grace.
She moves with elan and fleetness of foot, darting here and there leaving no trace.
Her sensuous body, caressed by the gentle breeze, trots about almost unseen,
Making the wildflower to blush and the envious grasses to turn a vivid green.
Eyes sparkling, she darts lightly about the meadow with all of her senses alert.
Seeming to be rolling and gliding, she can disappear and reappear in a spurt.
In the beauty of the length of savannah, she has no noticeable match.
Prancing from one thicket to the next, she stays too smart to catch.
Knowing well her environs, she blends with the hues of the scene.
By dieting lightly and steadily moving, she keeps her figure lovely and lean.
The photogenic bounty of every cameraman’s trained eye,
Her graceful hurdles and jumps can literally touch the sky.
The beauty of her eyes are a legend, their sharpness is a must.
Such a marvel of lightness and grace, there are few that she can trust.
Throughout two of the largest continents, she has reigned as a goddess;
Yet being a figure of poise and glamor, she remains demure and modest.
In the midst of darkness descending
above me,
Stillness seems to overtake sound,
Allowing moments for deep thought
in this mirror of solitude.
I tend to reminisce on those dreams I
grab from the photogenic events of
the past.
Once touched, I’m taken back by the
moments that can’t be replaced.
So during this moment of tranquility;
I pray no external force interrupts
this,
The calm waters in my mind.
Lucky for me, it’s a reoccurring dream;
And as vivid as these fantasies are,
None compare to the peaceful illusions
of family gatherings.
It was only yesterday, when I illustrated thoughts
of a child,
Always curious of that deep ocean floor,
Where familiar kin paint their residence ;
I was an eyewitness to many overlooked
areas within my family’s ocean.
Yet with many pieces missing as a result of
loved ones ascending to a higher cause,
This puzzle remains incomplete until that
last tomorrow.
However in these possible moments
of delusion;
I’m a child again touching the fabric
of my influential past.
As I continue this unforgettable daydream,
I ask again for no interruption;
For with every reminiscent moment,
I know of myself better and what I
could be in a tangible future.
Humans have long trespassed
and destroyed animal territories
Humans have poached
And selfishly encroached
upon animal habitats
cutting down trees to build
human habitations.
Now the tables have turned
Humans are quarantined in house arrest
while some lie sick in bedrest
So animals not usually seen are having a fields day
roaming upon roads, crossing the streets.
Reclaiming the once jungle lands,
that had been turned into concrete urban jungles.
It's better that busy humans now become photoholic
than forever queueing
in lines of heavy traffic.
Without human pollution,
nature is all the more photogenic
Mother nature all a creation of God
has now had many of us grounded
as she gives us a hiding
while we go into hiding.
Extraordinary turn of events indeed!!
In several countries round the world:
Discos and casinos vacated
Pubs and nightclubs evacuated
Bars shutdown for lockdown
People are behind bars instead of guzzling beer in bars
and instead of animals behind bars.
Humans compelled to hibernate
so animals busted their cell gate
Priorly animals were in an enclosure
Now they are getting free exposure
Self-centred humans cared mostly about themselves
but now the animal kingdom is the cynosure
Animals were shut in cages
and now human activity is under similar closure.
Ah, this corona crisis!
Is all this mercenary stasis
for humans a roasting nemesis?
A heavy price to pay for rapacious carelessness and arrogance
where humans acted like they are in control, like they
are controllers of this planet
and they could do anything they wish with it.
It's ignorance to think all this is mere coincidence.
Im relieved our Islamic prayers can be said any place, anywhere
to kneel and bow to the one true real sustainer of the universe.
We need to invoke and supplicate to the creator
who is still in control...
as prayer can really truly prevent fear and anxiety in such scary times.
"I suddenly realised that coincidence is a word we use when we are ignorant of the real causes." - Albert Salvadó
(I was impressed by the news story in which Kuwait had sent a special plane to Italy to specially evacuate their nationals from there when Italy was heavily stricken with the corona virus)
When nylon nights
trade crystal colours
in the stalls of nimble
butterfly wings,
I blossom as an
irenic origami
fervently fabricated
with snowflakes of
greedy gloom,
stealing royal violets
from the smokey estuaries
flowing beneath the
heavens befogged
with indigos, glistening
in periwinkle-arcs of
abstract auroras.
I reminisce those
amaranth stars
that whisper
graphical pantoums in
pearlescent pixels
of plum pentagon-
shaped skies,
as everytime when
porcelain acrylics
get spilt upon mauve
pages ribboned
with hydrangeas,
my orchid lips spin
a twist of leathered
spells amidst
frozen fahrenheit of
frostbit textures.
Painting heliotropic
oxygen with brushstrokes
of peony petals,
I carry unspoken
words of iris,
so that artificial aroma
within sculptured truths
remains caged
behind these dark
magenta carnations
printed upon
cashmere curtains
of hallucinating hyacinths.
Do photogenic pansies
never get frozen in iced pyre
of parched patchworks?
For, I believe that,
drowsy poppies
too have streaks of
wine stories
to narrate in their
ages of ache.
Perhaps, I'm a
glasswinged sorceress
of arctic hailstorms,
tracing phlox-
fluorescent forests
with tropical crayons,
as oiled hues of
multi-dusks flutter
across lavender orbs,
sprinkling mauve
dewdrops upon
watercolor dusts of
pencil-shaded luna
who unlocks
silver secrets
with skeleton key,
washing my bones
with lilac fog.
So, when these
thistle shaded leaves
crack their crystal
cocoons and
the sun sheds its
fluffed feathers
of hibernation,
meet me along the
horizons where
bright Veronica
takes the shape of
the moon and
reincarnates as a
crocheted sangria
memory along the
translucent sleet of
snowy sights.
My skin is softer
than raisin pearls
of mulberry seas,
as my spirit is stained
with glamorous grape
dyes and amethyst-fresco
distemper across bitter
skies has discoloured
every apathetic shade
that doesn't seem to
define my airbrushed
heather heart.
A SMILE
A smile is an expression of happiness,
It is literally the opposite of a frown,
With one, your lips go up,
And the other, your lips drop down.
But it is much more than physiology,
It displays favourable emotions too,
And a smile seems to be contagious,
Chances are if I smile, so will you.
When you say someone is photogenic,
Their face usually has a smile,
If you take a picture of someone with a frown,
Framing that photo, certainly won’t be worthwhile.
When you hear something that is really funny,
That smile will transform into a laugh,
Now that’s going to be a Kodak Moment,
Time to get out the camera, and take a photograph.
There are so many things that can make you smile,
It could be watching small children play in a park,
Or it could be much more of a personal thing,
Like 2 lovers, making out in the dark.
A smile is a universal language,
It is understood by everyone,
It’s a silent form of communication,
Recognized by every culture under the sun.
There are always nations at each other’s throats,
The world has been in conflict all the while,
Maybe what this planet of ours needs,
Is for more of its people to smile.
There's no reason for me to think
that the four seasons run wild and free.
There's a God out there, and He's in charge.
Sure, every season has a mind of its own,
and each knows exactly where she belongs.
Moreover, they feel right at home with all they do.
Each may inadvertently cross its boundaries, but all
things being equal, they are tolerant of each other.
My favorite season is Autumn, and she is somewhat
different than her sister Spring, who brings life but is
quite often late on arrival. Autumn tends to be softer
and brings a healing touch. And I think she's calmer
than both Summer and Winter.
Those two siblings can be a bit mean and overstay their
welcome. I think that Autumn is reliable and steady, and
most likely to live up to the expectations of others. She's
graceful and not likely to come with bells and whistles.
That's because she tones things down, not up.
Summer starts her demise, having sung her songs.
Winter is restless, but Autumn stares back and keeps her calm.
She then informs the trees, preparing them for color changes.
They won't tell you, but trees themselves sometime get bored
with green. They know that the colors in Autumn are much
more photogenic, and they can't wait.
Cameras are prepping, and the leaves on the trees are salivating,
because they know that they will be proudly staging before long.
Monarch butterflies, having enjoyed the summer, are presently
setting their compass south toward Mexico. No, birds are not headed
south just yet, but they are thinking about their long flight south.

They all sit there lined up in a row
Not knowing when exactly when to go
Decisions are made on the image they are looking for
As the applicants mumble at the door.
Mommas got cash
Let those pass
The Agent said
Wondering if they knew how to play dead underneath the bed.
Here comes another one
Participating in the audition after getting some sun
Shez a factor the agent said and could be a fine actor
Take a picture with her in blood
And bet you bottom dollar she is not going to be a dud.
Two more come in
Being a sweet photogenic twin
And having what it takes to win
A prize which is the opportunity to hear some more lies
Maybe this is just something
Like a guy giving them a ring.
Pick up the phone
“I am alone,” she could say
About this selection process for a scene to roll in the hay
During this time when they know she is out of money
And reality states they are only there to be called honey
Having the only worry being ‘if tomorrow is going to be sunny’.
When asked to defend
Its for the men
They do state
Hoping a date will turn into a lifelong mate.
In this game where no one knows their name
One may ask about money
When the success is being a bunny
This is nothing new
In a profession that ends with “I Do”
Yes, no she is waiting for an answer
On whether she is the corpse of the principal dancer.
When she gets the green light to be in the dying fight
She gets pumped up with all the might
“How much should I show?”
She asks with a glow.
Just enough
the guys want to see your inside stuff.
Finally, they get cast as the damsel getting the gas
Ready to meet a monster with a dangerous tool
And not expecting to end up just body parts in a bloody pool.
It only takes a day and hopefully there will be pay
But if not, the picture taken could be considered hot.
Everything is fine if it looks good
Especially if the B movie talent has it all together underneath their hood.
Do not be worried since it’s just the character that is going to be buried
Then after weeks in the theater what will be sweeter
A shot on a magazine cover that begs for men to love her.
Soon the check will come
And it will be done
Once the payment goes through and she tells the one man in her life “I do”
Vast hollow hall, ambient glow entering slow on tiptoe
calls out “Hello! is anyone here?”
Door hinge swing--by sight unseen
peripheral movement from the rear--none appear
One soft nudge connects, then more come next
and next, and next
Voice excited, nervous, bland--man, and man all man
device bubbles hover-crafted,
image profiles for docking drafted
Luminous sheen…silver, blue, brown, green
Round around lithe and lean
Forms and faces--handsome, homely, in between
Monologue spheres minus sound
Controlled levitation scores touch down
one-way communique becomes dialogue
isolated, insulated inundated
predated, postdated updated …overrated
Masculinity unbridled pride but
unbeknownst, fast forward stride
disarming photogenic grin
brandishing… a safety pin.
…paused parade, orbs suspended
cyber applet cart upended
deflated, flattened, air expended
Men-a-Tumble undefended
“What the F***?!”
“Who the Hell?!”
--ejected from protective shell.
Calamity! Cacophony!
torso tangled infirmary
nothing as supposed to be!
Coughs and curses, creaks and groans
puzzle pieces – parts unknown
Muddled mental block unlocked
composed and groomed they preen serene
reboot, reset, reload, login
with no attention to the clock….begin
Overload. Meltdown. Servers Out.
Suddenly in this vast white hall
Stilted social structures fall
Coeds coalesce about
him, her, he, she…
mixed commingled symmetry!
Reality reunion, rivalry replaced
lovers, friends, new crushes too-- meeting, greeting
Face Book faces Faced
hugs and handshakes, smiles and laughter
anonymous anomaly
uncommon ground forever after?
The clouds are dark,
And scary,
Not a single star is twinkling,
The sky looks dense and without any glitters!
The clouds and the moon are lark,
Although its very dark!
Frequent moving clouds..
As if its a race!
And the moon is hides itself,
Somewhere in between the clouds!
The moon is in a playful mood,
Playing hide and seek,
Taking full pleasures,
Of the dense clouds.
Yet its brightness cannot be hidden,
The light penetrates through the clouds,
All its trials..
were a vain effort!
The scenery is photogenic,
Worth to be captured,
Its eye catching and magnificent!
The gibbous phase of moon,
is enhancing its beauty.
Duskier the clouds,
Shimmering were it looks.
It may be our urge,
To see the ray of light in the dullness,
That made the moon looks-
The brightest and the best!
midst catastrophe
black pet stays photogenic...
transcending bright* flash
Ezekiel 32:8 All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord GOD.
