Sudden Death or Patently Aware Death is Coming For You Time is Precious

As I have and I presume most of you have as well

Had at some point in our life time

Had to experience loss and death

And a Silent muse just posed the question

I am now about to ask of you to

Given that there is no good way to die

But that death is how we all meet our end

Then on which side of this decision do you fall

A sudden death in an instant

One moment here the next you are gone

Maybe perhaps wall alone with no one there

Never having said or got to make you peace

Or being given say six months to live

Ever slowly slipping fading away

Most probably suffering daily in endless pain

Never not knowing if today is the day

And having to see the look on loved ones faces

But at least you got to say and make your peace

Goodbye and everything you wanted to say

And the funny contradictions about death

Is it effects those way far more still living in reality

Than the dead for sure per say

As in death the dead pose no question anymore

As they are Silent One and all forevermore

oh. dear. gawd.

another patently
meaningless
crush of stanzas, jam-packed with
adjectives and color words
straight from Roget's,
strung together in
strands of misuse and
improper context -
syntax-scraping adverbs and
prepositions dangled
at inhuman angles,
rushing in torrents to a
head-scratching conclusion that
leaves lips numb and dripping clear liquid,
fingers combing deep the
strands to tear out in horrid disbelief,
jaws left agape in
utter confusion and
hopelessness ...

it all settles like
brick-heavy clay in
the gut, that this vile destruction of
the English language and
its artistic forms -
this uneducated and
brutal bludgeoning of phraseology -
words replaced
willy-nilly by thesaurus-crazed maniacs,
(all for the sake of
impressing the masses
who don't know the difference),
is garnering dozens of
enthralled ignorance-is-bliss
comments, and placing
first in
contest-after-contest!!

how could any sane,
serious weaver of words
NOT want to blow
their freaking brains out?!?

the coronavirus pandemic
has been NOTHING
compared to the sickening
misuse of words
that flows on-and-on from public
poetry sites in crushing
waves of feigned
eloquence and verbal vivisection ...

could it be, perhaps,
that the circle writing ISN'T inane,
but rather a strangled striving
for the breadth of
non-linear orthography??

welcome to the
ultimate zero sum game -
the mangy monkey in the monkey
puzzle tree,
Schroedinger's kitty,
skinned and nailed to the barn house ...

fan-freaking-tastic ...
let's kill this clairvoyant clown,
quickly ... quietly ...
cuz ...

it. never. ends.

Premium Member One Very Bitter Pill

The pains of those ailments that grab us at will
Once better, like stalkers, can linger on still
But it’s patently true that life’s bitterest pill
Is the pain when it’s someone you love that is ill

When struck down, bedridden, we try to be brave
Though we feel our survival might be a close shave
But we’d gladly accept our God’s beckoning wave
If that keeps our loved one away from their grave

                                     *

And so when I hear that slight tremor of fear
No hug and no words for the one I hold dear
Can bring forth a smile full of genuine cheer
And that forehead kiss… conceals my own tear

At night, to the God in whom I don’t believe
I sheepishly say, “I don’t want her to leave.”
I snuggle up close, I’m not ready to grieve
And I smile in the morning as I hear her breathe

The doctors I’ve trusted I must trust in still
For they’ll mend her again; I’m sure that they will
But it’s patently true that life’s bitterest pill
Is the pain when it’s someone you love that is ill

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Vouch For

I am patently smitten
With utmost contempt ,they treat any mention of its reality
The realm of the illusory is its permanent abode
Its at best transient , an ephemeral indulgence ,
A violet on a morbid pathway
The ill-fated roadside plant whose demise is lurking in the shadows.
A facade ,an imaginary concept birthed out of delusion and denial
Disapproval and detest permiate the dense air
whenever the subject comes up
The thickness ,stifling the atmosphere of any remaining residues of hope
Intense apprehension carved from a litany of painful experiences
But what's the essence of life if not the defiance of history? -
The obliteration of barriers thought impervious?,
The ******** of walls long believed
to be figments of overambitious imaginations ?,
The charting of venturesome trails in the perilous jungle?
Don't you just love it when you see tables turn ?
Isn't it a sight to cherish when the applecart gets upset?

I am utterly smitten ,
by that penetrating ,self assured gaze -Impeccable as ever
Cascading through my being like African okra in an enamel plate
Fluid and engrossing
The ravishing smile , aggressively addictive ,
which almost always succeeds in changing the climate in my spine
The lips which drip unfettered mellifluousness,
A song without want of both depth and sweetness
Something that only such a golden soul can exude
The archetype of perfection ..
Like a gazelle in the Savanna plains ,
grace and elegance attends her gait always
This is where even the most intransigent hearts ,
are rendered malleable and ductile
And utter patency becomes the heart's portion

Premium Member Wish I Knew You When I Was Young

Wish I knew you when I was young

Wish I knew you when I was young
When journey of my desires had just begun
As lyrics of my romantic life were being written
And the song of my rhythm remained unsung.

As I encountered my dream of unknown theme
No one ever resembled your state of elegance,
Not knowing the pathway to worthy eloquence
I embarked on a course of least resistance.

Why do I feel so attracted to your presence
Mesmerized by your utmost shiny luminance
As you stand there gazing my lone appearance
Unaware that I'm already married to a gentleman.

Yet, I stay engaged in the game of hide and seek
Following your vibes to take a stolen peek
As you pause to shake hands with a firm grip
When I clumsily inform you my feelings run deep.

I decided to meet you knowing nothing about you
For urge tugged fervor unlike anything I knew
Getting lost in fables that seldom come true
Seeking refuge in secret wishes patently new.

And I felt playful as we stopped by for ice cream
Travelling back to days when life was carefree
Telling you coyly about my husband and children
Crossing norms of naivety with a reckless abandon.

You said goodbye as anguish flared your wistful eyes
Retreating hastily upon hearing my hesitant sigh
And I let go of your grip on my wanting sheen
Fascinating in solitude how things might have been.

Premium Member Where There Is Love

Far away from her, far from comfort zone
He goes there, where life beckons him
Remaining true to purpose and meaning
Atop the mountains or deep in the valleys
Revering her love, as he journeys alone.

Maneuvering around life's dead-ends
In wayward motion of destiny's u-turns,
Avenues she illuminates besting darkness--
Being his street-lamp, patently she burns.

When forces somber aim to deter him
Bravely she appears readying her valor
Standing by him, in step with his shadow.

He sees her all-over, where there is love.

Premium Member Barbed Flowers

Barbed Flowers.

I would write this all down to you
If i thought you could read.
If your hand didn't cast a shadow
on what i would author.
If only you had seen what i saw
that i can only chalk about now
but not here - afterall...

Listen? You can't do that one of two!
Not for yourself, not even momentarily.
Patently not for me nor for others,
not for our girls whom have ears
that listen and seesaw.
Your noisy darkness grasps the heart,
plays it like a theremin.

This is how i feel
when you feel the way you do...
like something always does.
Better left unseen, unheard, unread.
Put to rest the thread,
it comes unraveled
when the needle is unminded.

The scent of October,
it's windy fragrance,
i scribe this to myself.
Saptaparna etched in color.
Holding the muddle together
a little while longer... with rusted wire,
I nurture beautiful barbed flowers.

Ja You Are So Right

What temprate joy began with

Such afterglow took away

Once forensic dissertation
dismantling the evidence sends

When massaged vanity and
guily platitudes are subsidised
overcome by inertial reality

As fraud is replaced and integrity
lost

Pondering the cost of what was
gained was lost

And comes with no return policy

But speaking personally from the
here what right have i to complain

If yes that is my signature my
name undersigned in the contract

Was i not duty bound to have read
the small print before putting
pen to paper and held account responsible for my own actions

Because wanted it so much
a willing accomplice was i to be
turn a blind eye and overlook the lie

Until it was patently pointed out to
me that a hollow victory however
fleeting only lasts a while

But a stain is permanent and
remains on one's record for life

Sold for merely 30 pieces of
control

Which then became priceless
and unattainable to buy back
or own

Until it rears it's ugly head being
abused in some random advertising
advert campaign

The final insult nail in the coffin
thinking

What have i done
What did i do

Why couldn't i just have waited

Why was i not blessed with patience

I Believe

I believe that somewhere your spirit waits for me
I believe somehow we were and are meant to be
I believe those who have tired to make us part in every way
Will soon see we have found each other and together we will forever stay
I believe the spirits have put us here together again
A complete the life for us that they had planned
And I will wait here patently
Until you too believe like me

I Am Shrinking

I am shrinking,
I am shrinking,
I am dwindling away,
And i hardly need to tell you this is not a normal day.
Now i'm smaller than a pickle,
Than a pencil,
Than a prune,
And it's patently apparent i will vanish very soon.
I am shrinking,
I am shrinking,
I am smaller than a bean,
And unless there's a reversal,
I will exit from the scene.
I'm receding every second,
Now i'm smaller than a flea,
A midge,
A molecule,
And now i'm nothing to see.....

Loch Ness

Alltsaigh - The Scotch Highlands

I made a pact with you near water's edge:

 Before the campers came,

I would remove The drawings on the hostel's kitchen walls

In which you are a few sad and patient tires

Half in some blued-out lake with dragon face,

So patently fading to public white.

You said you would never come back up

To startle us again or find disgrace…

So you said going black under blue;

I knew you would be back.

Sailing these spindrift waters

Diving the bone-deep depths and taunting us

Across the waves with your rippling spines,

And flair for bumbling melodrama.

Therefore, I have kept my watch

And evenings, a blue sword in darkness,

I look downward and slip off into the night

Premium Member Apocalypse Almost Arrived

Insidious, insipid, id-inebriated imbeciles
incite impetus into inevitable immolation.

Bombast, bluster and bluff: blunt batons of barbarian bullies;
backwards behaviour blackballs baronial breed's burdens and bonds.

Weasely, willy-waving warmongers wage wanton war of words
without wit, wisdom or worldliness, whilst we weakly watch and wait.

Regrettable, repugnant reprobates ravage refined realms with
reprehensible rapier-rattling and rancid rhetoric.

Clash of corrupt, contemptible cutthroats carves calamity 'cross
continents and culminates in catastrophic conflagration.

Pointless predatory and political power-plays pale as
pirouetting pariahic pyres patently a pyrrhic prize.

Beauty and diversity

With a thousand and one diversities
defining beauty sounds moronic

Deep blue eyes and glossy skin
that patently are a lover's whim,
Ornate the wrapped dry emotions
and a stone cold heart sometimes,

While an awful look cannot ensconce
the warmth and brimming allegiance
of mind and thoughts that never fail to entice.

Thanksgiving Family Tradition

My sons eyes opened wide when I pulled on the slide
On the airplanes opening door partition
I had took the time without being sublime
To explain the Reith Family's Thanksgiving tradition
Maybe he had thought it pure jest his bulging eyes processed
As his parachute opened He wore a look of derision
His body had spun His look registered stunned,
Like this was some kind of unreasonable decision
It was expected of the youngest born before Thanksgiving morn
To bring back from the nearest forest
A bird
After a mighty and fierce war With piles of blood spilled galore
He registered a look that I mistook
As if my demands were patently absurd
After the last desperate howl of the game but defeated fowl
He would drag the beast back to where we were living
And as hard as he was able slam it down on the dinner table
And holler loudly,
"To all a Happy Thanksgiving"!
