Sudden Death or Patently Aware Death is Coming For You Time is Precious

As I have and I presume most of you have as well Had at some point in our life time Had to experience loss and death And a Silent muse just posed the question I am now about to ask of you to Given that there is no good way to die But that death is how we all meet our end Then on which side of this decision do you fall A sudden death in an instant One moment here the next you are gone Maybe perhaps wall alone with no one there Never having said or got to make you peace Or being given say six months to live Ever slowly slipping fading away Most probably suffering daily in endless pain Never not knowing if today is the day And having to see the look on loved ones faces But at least you got to say and make your peace Goodbye and everything you wanted to say And the funny contradictions about death Is it effects those way far more still living in reality Than the dead for sure per say As in death the dead pose no question anymore As they are Silent One and all forevermore

Dear Christopher, I completely agree with you, time is precious. With that being said, I've known many to die suddenly, and that's hard on the family. Never being able to say goodbye. Your thoughts tender and emotional, all at the same time. Congratulations, on Poem of the Day. My best to you. ~ Brandy

Congratulations Christopher. It's nice to see your poetry getting the reward it deserves. This is an uncomprimising piece and made me stop in my tracks while reading it. You never duck exploring difficult themes in your work. Hopefully now more people will read your back work. Nice one! Cheers - Gary

Congratulations on your POTD, Christopher. Let me add to the other comments made about the two choices by adding another thought to consider. Sometimes the manner in which we die is not about us, but about the people around us and those that we have influenced during our life. Sometimes we stay longer in various conditions to help others learn lessons they need for their lives. Dying in one's sleep is the best options for an individual, because it would indicate that their work here is done.

Congratulations Christopher on POTD with this thought provoking poem. It is very well written. Having worked in the care sector I have, like so many, witnessed more decaying and death than anyone would ever want to see in a lifetime. We always consider the relatives as well as a lot of time, as your poem poses the question, it can be the relatives suffering more with what they have to witness with their loved ones. The soul is eternal and without the body( only a vessel) the soul shines and

lives on. Many people have said to me they are not actually afraid of dying but how they’re going to die. It’s all thought provoking but great comfort when you have religion, spiritual beliefs, throughout your life but especially at the time of your passing. Blessings to you

Body-mind dies but spirit indwelling it lives on. Death may be sudden or slow, it does not matter. What counts is how mush we have awakened to love, during our life. That learning is carried forward. Of course, this requires acceptance of terms like soul and reincarnation, for which I can suggest having a look at any NDE channel on YouTube, Jeff Mara’s podcast being one of them. Warmest congratulations on POTD, with this thought provoking poem, Chris, thanks for sharing.

Thought provoking poem. I don't have a preference as it is likely predestined and out of my hands. So I will just try living my best life daily. Congrats on potd!

Silent one is an inspiration for me too, a conversation with him is like getting prompts to weave poetry, he is a walking prompt that inspires all around him, and surely this sounds like something he would leave as a thought, and something that terrifies me, as death of loved ones is a scary thought really. You’ve written very well and your words flow too so seamlessly. Goodbye’s too are painful sigh, this poem really hits deep. Pleasure reading your work
