Take Me Out To the Ballgame, Mister Cub

Mr. Cub, take me out to the ballgame!

                               A Chicago Cubs-Fan Prayer!

In nomine patri et fili spiritu of Ron Santo

Let us all give thanks for Ernie Banks!

                                     Let us play, TWO!

Our Father, who art in Wrigley Field Hallowed be thy name on those ivy covered Brick-house walls

Thy new stadium will come, the owners will be done

On earth, as it is in heaven to sit in the sun with the bleacher-bums

Give us this day our daily dread, but remove those lights that some say offend

And forgive us our trespasses for trading our best hitters and aces

As we forgive those same players who then come back, and rub it in our faces

Lead us not, into tenth inning disgraces, and worst of all, with men left on bases

Deliver us from evil and finishing in last place

And Caray us on to win the pennant race

All's we're ask ‘in for is a couple a more runs with three men on base

Bring us oh Lord a world series trophy, or it won't be long before were all dopey!

Our faith be rich, but our pockets are poor, because most of us can't afford a dog or a couple a beers in here!

Our spirit lives on and we know no fear, so whaddya say we lose the, "wait till next year"!

Mr. Cub is rounding third and headed for home, one more time on this hallowed ground, but we still need a closer for a Cubs World Series win!

Ronny made the call to one of their friends, "send in the saver, Ernie can't do it all"!

Now the "LORD's" in the line-up, and Mr. Cub just handed him the ball!

Let us all give thanks for Ernie Banks! AMEN!

A Baseball Constanza

Tim made his way to play home plate,
a smile now brightened wide his face,
good blow and he would be on base.

His team now trailed, the innings late,
a home run might help tie the game,
and pay him wee degree of fame.

Ball came across fast low and straight,
It made him move away from zone,
the slider hitting plate well thrown.

With new grin he took time to wait,
bat made dirt fly away from spikes,
took second strike the pitcher likes.

Tim needed chew his bite was great,
wad gave his teeth some jawing time,
with chew, Tim gave ball distant climb.

7-12-18

Tim made his way to play home plate,
his team now trailed, the inning late.
Ball came across fast, low and straight,
with new grin he took time to wait.
Tim needed chew, his bite was great.

The Phillies are not scoring many runs.
They’re leaving runners on base.
Zeros are on the board.

Get it together.
Bad hitting and bad pitching
does not win you games.
Not many victories come
when you score three or less runs.

No postseason play
if you lose too many games.
Play like a winner.

Dogs That Left Faux Paw Prints Extant Within Me Life

lids black out and allow me to write
while eyes shut tight
bring back four legged friends sprite
and though many years passed quite

I can remember those precious creatures
   who barked at night
howling at inaudible sound or invisible light
casting silhouettes that fight

punctured the air with verbal byte
and now I list long gone
smart pets in alphabetical order – alright?

Baron – substantially German Sheppard
met his demise chasing a car on level road
the advantage overtaken
   per vehicle with greater lode
which accidental death
found him buried in an unmarked grave
   i.e. underground abode.

Georgie – a combination Boxer and Dalmatian
(with his cropped tail to boot
grew up as my canine brother
an essentially gave up the ghost
from organ failure of one or another.

Lady – this fur certain white German Sheppard
uncertain how, when or what
led to her body to collapse
perhaps while listening to snoop doggy dog raps
found on base near first stair
when rigor mortis set deathly traps.

Ruff – he and his litter mate Teddy
(listed below), an alpha beast o man’s and
woman’s best friend with moments of rage
as applicable to a dog, and seemed
to evince an intelligence like a sage.

Schultz – he apparently vanished in thin air
without a trace, not e’en
a filament of fur like hair
hopefully taken in by another pet lover,
   but who knows where.

Shadow – pride of eldest sister,
he succumbed after becoming thermally ill
though diminutive for a black lab,
his absence left a void quite large to fill.

Socrates - dealt with harsh mistreatment
   and distemper than tossed out
like trash, mine to sisters,
who nursed him with tender loving care
from his faux paws to a keen snout
which maintained his longevity no doubt.

Teddy – another throw away pet
   found at Jacobsburg –
   near Easton, Pennsylvania.
one lame leg (damaged
   during his puppy hood)
lived til olde age.

   my younger sister ( Shari)
   brought him and Ruff home,
where their entire life he did stay
inherently evincing intelligence
   that happiness found that chance
provided a doting owner this way.

Perchance, happenstance, my sailor found me
as I arrived (a package deal) but I stole his heart
and wouldn’t share, though some so-and-so tried.
She’s lucky she’s still alive. Thankfully my sailor
couldn’t be bribed. He was revived, not villified,
by my return. He told me all about so-and-so.

I said so-what, we had just met, no big deal.
But I didn’t know she’d hide behind rocks, at the end
of our dates, ga-ga-ing over him. Her glasses brim
with puppy loving, but I stole his heart. It was around
my neck so she couldn’t find it. Kick to the curb,
so-and-so, you're so outta there. Really “out there!”

My Prince, thus nicknamed, brought me to a movie,
first base - ahem…I mean on base. We kissed,
we missed what was playing in the dark. He took
my hand as our lips played like a bow and harp.

I momentarily look up. Some chump, who worked
there was holding my hand - I am NOT that kind of girl.
Roll up your sleeves…knock out this jerk, this l o s e r.

MY sailor had won my heart. No other hand comes close.
Did I tell ya, I also had a sailor in the chow hall, during
boot camp, lick my boots - no my hand. What is wrong
with the seas. Glad I swept up the pearl and not the disease.

Labour Pains

As we breathed together she and I,
in through nose, out through mouth,
her partner stood behind.
Heel of his hand on base of her spine.
With each deep intake he pressed harder,
in a circular motion.
The pressure eased her ferocious pain
as we breathed again, she and I.
Flesh of my flesh, blood of my blood.
Coursing through us to him,
the baby within my child.

Welcome To the Machine: Part 7

Plight of the Computer >

Behind that display
Where the work is never done
You give me order after order
I process line by line
But appreciation is dead
You just want it done in time

Chrome.exe?
Now there’s a surprise
You were on the web all night
But there’s no history in sight

Where’s disk cleaner?
Where’s the virus scan?
Why not a health check?
A favour, for your faithful PC man?

Skype?
What need is there for that?
I can perform a thousand operations
In five ticks flat!
But you just yearn for pointless communication?
Ugh, well I guess I can handle that

It never seizes to amaze me
How you never update me
Never restart
Shutdown
Or clean
Then you complain about me!

Minecraft?
You’ve got to be kidding
Why don’t you try mapping out a thirty million block land
Can’t do it?
Then don’t complain about a little frame skipping!

Yes it’s hard to be a machine
Functioning on base two and such
When your ruler’s just a novice
Who demands too much

Despite how I feel
I know I’m not a slave
What’s to stop me from clearing everything?
I mean...
You clearly haven’t saved!

“Free super-fast video player”
Another scam, fancy that!
Not even a fool would dare click on that!

...
Oh
Well I guess I stand corrected
Gee, Thanks user
It feels great to be infected!

At Yankee Stadium

I stared at all the jerseys
Worn by Yogi, Mickey, Lou,
The Babe and Derek Jeter,
Thurman Munson, Roger, too…

And I realized all these Yankees,
Those alive and those who’ve died,
Wore those uniforms, no matter when,
With dignity and pride.

For so many baseball players,
Playing ball was all they knew.
They were lucky that success rewarded
What they loved to do.

At the stadium, we cheered them
For each time they got on base,
With an inkling of whose jersey
Will join others in that case.

Sexualizations 3

Soon, the instincts that kept us drawn,
Excitedly, will all be chased.
Xenophiles, that are of your case,
Uncover thoughts that have been spawned.
Aggressive measures, that are fawned,
Lead to times that we can not waste,
Issolating ourselves on base,
Zoning out until the next dawn.
As this preliminary play
Touches you in all the right spots,
Initiate love the right way,
Overtly taking the right shots.
Now, you are ready for the lay,
Sweating the words that got you hot.

The Heart, a Feral Beast

The heart, a feral beast

The heart, an indigent and feral beast,
Is a wily and treacherous creature
Enticing me to act on base instincts,
Who is the slave and who is the master?

Premium Member Walk Off Home Run

To a relief pitcher, this is infuriating.
With his team leading, it is the ninth inning.
Inability to hold the lead can be humiliating.
With a two run lead, and two runners on base,
the batter hits the ball right out of the place.
The pitcher was unable to get the third out.
With the game lost, it’s a long walk to the dugout.
This can ruin a relief pitcher’s night without a doubt.

Pyramid

The sunset dazzles with delight
It is eerily beautiful sight
Against wavy clouds in the linen sky there is golden light
The vastness of the sky and ocean beneath it is underlined by the light

Soul aches as it looks to the sky
True now a day man can fly
But to reach visage behind the sky
Is what man can supposedly do after body will die

To unlock the secrets of earth and heavens man seeks
Since time long before ancient Greeks
Man now has conquered the earthly peaks
But oceans and skies elude him even in most favorable streaks

The expedition travels the jungle where stands tree after tree
Searching for nothing less than mechanism to change the course of destiny
The expedition passed the shiny sea
And on the verge of great discovery it soon will be

Through mountains past what is left of ancient royal tract
That is partially intact
Where the lightning great tree has cracked
There is something so immense they don’t know if it’s real or abstract

On an island in the center of the lake
Being shined on by the sun when it will awake
Casting shadow on everything in its wake
They found colossal pyramid at day break

The pyramid is often used as a tomb
But for soul it is a womb
For pyramids huge volume
Is build on base of beyond temporal echoes, spirit that will bloom

It is gate beyond infinity
Beyond continuity
Mathematical nirvana through the soul shows its majesty
The position beyond known life’s tree

At the base of this thing
It is a theory of everything
But to enter it one does not necessarily has to be a king
But one has to hear the call of one’s soul when it will ring
