Rain falls silently beyond the farthest hill
as morning cries from life's night of despair
Where shaded shadows stand in solitude seeking wisdom
after stars fell without notice by human eyes
corrupted by caustic cradles of candles waxing

Searching for answers in skies where there is no sun
and finding weakness wandering to wailing walls
because all are lost from reason and sanity
infused instead by illusions of light lit longingly in wistfulness

As anger confronts confusion leading to the death of all
left to be buried by no one but the passing of time
that cares not whether we pass this way again
Maybe another candle will be lit

Premium Member Spring Offerings

I liked to take my baby brother
And my little sister too
And ramble in the countryside
When the spring was fresh and new.
We would take our Easter baskets
And would fill them with delights
Culled from the drifts of wild flowers,
As part of our springtime rites.

We would take our gifts to Mother
And would hang them on her door.
She would say that she had never seen
Such lovely flowers before.
She said she loved our floral designs
Made from spring's first dandelions.

Offerings of Nature

A cold winter’s end
    sunshine a taste of honey
       a woodpecker perched
      amidst a serene moment
       his acoustics amplified

         an osprey takes flight
       with olympic precision
              over still waters
 with a lightening quick splash
        emerges with his dinner

         with freedom—birds soar
        musings of worry —absent
            with but one mission
         as God intended for them
daily spread their wings and soar

Offerings To the Flames

Long ago our ancestors,
waited for the time,
When it was warm in spring
To plant the grain, the fruit, the vine,
The Earth, it is awakening
Ere winter storm subside.
Fallow fields are waiting
for the seedlings to reside.
lighting up the flames now
in the season filled with fire,
passion, love and fruitfulness,
All fuel us with desire,
As the flames go higher
Throw your offerings in the embers.
As we thank mother nature
for all the goodness which she renders.

Sacrificial Offerings

Those given to Odin swung from trees with blackened face,
whilst Kali’s servants strangled those they sent to her embrace
The people of the sun tore beating hearts out on their altars,
for the sacrificial procession through the ages never falters

We shake our heads and ponder the barbarity of man
and question any gods who ask for death within their plan,
yet none has spilt more blood, nor cried as loud with their demands
as the god of greed and privilege whose disciples run these lands

Sent to meet their makers through the medium of war
we find these sacrificial victims bombs have blown, and bullets tore,
offered up to fill the vaults of these extremists and fanatics,
sacrifice disguised through slippery verbal acrobatics

They’re drowned when vessels sink, sent down to Poseidon’s watery tomb,
for the silverware some suckle leaves a thousand without spoons,
and the gamble between a leaky boat and a slow death through despair
is one that more will make whilst prophets preach of taking others share

Starved in slums, or worked to death in roles of servitude,
Illness without medicine and bellies without food,
victims of these economic modern day Crusades,
where the armour’s turned to suits, and the pen’s more deadly than the blades

Don’t let the veneer of civilisation hide the brute that lurks beneath,
for the sword still spills the blood no matter how fancy the sheath,
and the god whose sway we’re under is as brutal as his kin,
growing fat upon the sacrifice the system builds within,
and the high priests of the Dollar Gods ensure the victim bleeds,
as they bow down in Wall Street temples to appease the Markets needs

Tithe and Offerings Tax and Sufferings

The end is near o parrots and prophets
who peck and pick my people's pockets.
Shameless shepherds who neglect the needy
and tremble at the table of the greedy.
Many are called by money-milking gods...
but few chosen to rescue men from rugged rods.
The pulpit is now a platter of prosperity
while the pew cascades the aura of austerity.
Robbers in priestly robes plunder tithes and offering
Rogues in power enforce tax and sufferings...
The church has become a venomous venture
for schemers who scratch the scriptures.
Peter is robbed while Paul pays the price;
Where is the early church's spirit of sacrifice?
Jesus chased out robbers from the fold
how did we get to this mortal garden of gold;
costly cathedrals built with tears and blood
where sinners cannot access the cleansing flood?
I now see a modern version of the rugged cross...
where the preacher's gain is the laity's loss.
Private jets and public jest form the new order
Skimpy skirts spur deliverance disorder.
The altar has been stacked with golden grains
wealthy wolves keep shepherds in chains.
Wake up church! The Savior is calling...
the pillar of our faith is breaking and falling.
Abraham's fortune did not filter his faith
Riches should not lead us into wraith.
God wishes above all things that we prosper...
but robbing Peter to pay Paul is not proper

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY OFFERINGS’ BLESSER

Lord God, You are the Blesser of my offerings
While You accept me before Your mercy seat
Thank You for forgiving my sins that cause my spiritual defeat
As I repent from vain pursuits of futile treat…
Help me present my life before You, and receive Your divine revival heat.

Lord God, You are the Blesser of my offerings
While You smell my prayer’s sweet incense
Thank You for reproving my bad testimony that disregards Your presence
As I repent from remaining in evil influence-essence…
Help me saturate my soul in Your holiness-effervescence.

While You cleanse me fully
Thank You for dealing with my confessed iniquities I admit honestly

My Offerings To My Lord

(Inspired by 'Gitanjali' by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore)

In the seamless sea of eternity, when life's hassles churn my mind, my Lord,
and a note of discord creeps into the soft rhythm of it's calm waves,
in devotion, I close my faithful eyes, to see Your formless form:
a lustre, mystic, from gems precious flashes on my mind's eyes
and I get a glimpse of those radiant gems: love and peace
as they slowly arise from my mind's seabed, through its billows.

I let these gems to dwell and sparkle in my mind -
I feel love and peace...

When my mind wandered in the pitch darkness of ignorance,
You gave me the insight to see the light of my own soul -
still, my mind yearns to be the last loose knit barb
of the beautiful peacock feather that adorns your crown.
In my dream, as I breathe in the pulsating air of a gently wafting flute tune,
I hear You, my Lord, and yearn to treasure Your tune in the vibrance of my breath..

Kindly accept my offerings my Lord: these simple, naive words of prayer
although they are in fragments, like the playful scribbles of a child on a wall...

Note:
1) Peacock feather: Here, it signifies the peacock feather that always adorns Lord Krishna's crown.
2) Flute Tune: In Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna is always pictured as a cowherd boy with a crown of peacock's feather and as playing His divine flute.

January 26 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Exodus 25-27
Key Verse – Exodus 25:1-2 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.

PRAISE BE TO GOD WHO INSTRUCTS US
TO BRING HIM OFFERINGS

Praise be to God for instructing us
to bring Him our offerings:
Willingly with satisfaction joy
Wholeheartedly along salvation jubilation
Worshipfully in our spiritual journey
Winsomely through our stewardship jobs

Exodus 26:1 Praise be to the Lord for granting us
what His tabernacle requires:
Curtains of redemption
Coverings of righteousness
Clothes of revival

Exodus 27:21 Praise be to the Saviour for radiating to us
His holiness as our testimony-light before Him that:
Burns from evening to morning
Beautifies for His glory and majesty
Blesses His magnificence as well as His omnipotence
Besets us around His righteousness for Gospel sharing. Amen!

Premium Member Wolfling Beware the Offerings

Wolfling
beware the offerings

years of starvation
her impetus
broke free
she leapt past inhibitions of fear
the unknown
fell upon the feast
gorging writhing with sensation
belly full
she turned
just in time to see
herself trapped.

Offerings

he makes me offerings,
little strings of his face he places on my knee,
a line of black ink
in a bowl of milk

one day I slid
my lover's beard barb across his cheek-
watching him squirm and giggle made me giggle too,
for he could not fathom the ecstasy of a hundred on my neck,
or a thousand between my legs

Dissembling Offerings

He never brooked a lie that couldn’t be spoken
Spiffed up with a good spit shine
Tin promise made was a buffalo wooden token
Re-tale sale, it ain’t worth a dime
From Niagra Falls to the debt edge of Hoboken
Every creditor had to wait in line
Trust placed on a cash glass ceiling got broken
China dolls loved the crash chime

Tone deaf to the truth, to some it don’t matter
Baby rattlers crying in a viper din
Mad Hatters talking a walk up the dirt ladder
Judas tears, a dissembling offering
With a flick of the tongues, cluck of the clatter
Some like the taste of tawdry lying

Burnt toast horizons singe the autumn sky.
Cinnamon swirls smoke the golden hour,
awaiting the drizzled frosting of ashen night.
Pluck the taunt string of barren branch.
Whip the laggard moonlight white.

Bring forth the banshee’s breath.
Scorch the sockets of pumpkin
impaled in fallow fields.
“Gather, Oh come! Ye ghosts
beneath the apple tree."
