Penny Offerings

Candles shooing dark away
The sun is turning night to day
And we all wake from fantasies
That only happen once in dreams
Offering pennies for a desired will
Wishing, waiting for it still
Listen, oh, dear wishing well
In my dreams I wish to dwell
Calling, calling, twilight dear
Make the curse disappear
And carry me back into my sleep
And let me sink into it deep.
