I’ve been watching my weight since 14,
but with all of the diets I’ve seen,
they’ve become a big no-no.
This here dieting yo-yo
has stopped trying to be super lean!
Other problems I’ll change as I go.
I don’t need a New Year to say so!
Said a wise sailor man:
I yam what I yam!
Why improve on a good thing - ya know?
So the cause of the most bellyaching
at this time of the year I’m forsaking.
When you know yourself well. . .
why then go through such hell!
Resolutions I’ll never be making.

one moment it burns so bright,
it's so warm..
so warm that people step right in
then...
once they loosen their grip
it grows cold,
small,
distant....

This is the story of a clueless man
I had to give the “eye” to for a dance!
But once he noticed me, the tale began.
However, it was not a huge romance!
He had no car or money. Both of us
were students, broke and working. What a pair!
We didn’t even get to take a bus,
just talked and walked together everywhere.
We talked of everything; I even cooked
his meals. He lived next door! There never was
a day we weren’t together. It just looked
like we’d get hitched. No reason. Just because!
No courting; no proposal did I get.
In forty years, I haven’t heard one yet!
Non-Toxic Love
Pecking order glances
Destroys friendship chances
Dissolves love, annuls romances.
Surviving smart as a fox…
Smooths that road of hard knocks…
So step out of the box.
Live above mental kicks.
Care, without verbal pricks,
Strengthen homes made of sticks.
Avoid hot gossiping lips
Prevent ill judger's grips.
Watch the evil one do flips.
Find peace with the white dove.
Be sheltered by God above.
Receive His gift… non-toxic love.

Et Portæ Inferi Non Valebit
(And the gates of hell will not prevail)
Gates of Hell shall never ever prevail
promulgation of Truth forever stands.
Soul and Spirit each rings a sounding bell
Fate's ruthless results judges all the lands.
Vanities of all men foolishly praised
Spirit's dark desires bearing bitter fruit.
Rejection of He that was truly raised
lies and corruption are the stolen loot.
Righteous hearts look to Heavenly skies
sincere prayers, deliver such bless reward.
Mankind races onward using blinded eyes
to an ending very bitter and hard.
In the dark shadow of this evil world.
Our Creator's redemption has been hurled!

Some of us ,perhaps are not cut out for this perfect world,
Life tells its story as the moments unfold.
Here we are sharing this Space, this Age,
Like odd misfits, sharing this societal charade.
The lonesome lover, whose love has died,
The angry rebel who trains children to fight..
The child who grew up on the streets,
The girl who left home in shame for her deeds.
Countless lives, strange stories,
Empathy, sympathy,sadness, joy, anger, love.
Each tale has its own fragrance,
Its not just the beginning or the end,
Its a bit deeper than that, my friend.
Conformation to conventions bind our minds,
'Freedom' is born inside.
Little control that we have over others' opinions,
Free yourself, free the mind-
The world transforms, the vision changes,
Hope blossoms, Love makes its way inside,
Life grows, meanings surface,
Peace reigns... and the courage returns.
The winter's been harsh, the winter's been long.
Still it's only march and I can't hear the song.
To have spring fever, you need to be a believer.
This winter's been harsh and this winter's been long.
Shovel's and sneezes are the call of the day.
Please hand me a kleenex, it's two month's until May.
We're out, well I guess I'll just use my sleeve or.
Man if I had my way I certainly wouldn't stay.
White winds wailing where weeds wait wondering.
If the God's will ever restart their thundering.
Or if they have just slammed down the reciever.
In disgust of all of mankinds plundering.
Faith in the four season's is our only stronghold.
Waiting for the story of sping to still be told.
Hoping the book of knowledge is not a deciever.
Our spirit's are shaken and we dare not be too bold.

Today the New York Marathon's
Become a non-event.
The runners' opportunities
To race both came and went.
At first the mayor said it's on,
Despite the storm's destruction;
And then, last minute, pulled the plug
And gave a new instruction.
The racers coming to New York
Most likely were confused;
And those who paid for flights and rooms
I'm sure were not amused.
It's sad that all that training
For this race has come to naught,
The miles of pavement pounded
On each sneaker that was bought.
But certainly the mayor
Could have hurrried his decision.
His turnabout last-minute call
Has earned him great derision.
The city wasn't ready yet
To up and celebrate.
The mayor should have known that,
But discovered it too late.
How many are realities? Is a question,
How many one actually wants? Is option?
Monism, like single-focus telescope, stands firm,
While dualism, like binoculars, less confirm...!
I who see the flower observe the bee as well,
That, like unidentified guest, within it dwell;
I focus on flower, yet, bee I don't ignore,
Bee and bloom are harmonious; in union soar...!
Absolute is one; from that utmost have all come,
Flies, bees, birds, animals, reptiles - those speak or dumb;
Existing in any habitat they do preach,
Of the truth, to which, these all ultimately reach...!
Multiplicity must give way to simplicity,
Souls-convergence should erase all complexity;
My body and soul are in me; I am in them;
If one has no life in it, won't thing turn mayhem...?
Universe is a gadget that gladly partakes,
The great principle of Brahma, who makes and breaks;
To diminish every divisibility,
And bring in indissoluble pure unity...!
Advaita - body-mind one - beings become whole,
Parmatma in atma dwells as a cosmic soul;
Can one remove blood from flesh or heat from fire?
Each in each one; all in all; Agape grows higher...!

I know it's not a fiction
That's working in my life
I know this aint a prison
I'm free to leave tonight
I know this love is different
I can feel its depth and height
I know my God is merciful
To guide me in His light
It takes nothing short of Jesus
To fight this daily fight
Christ stood for me at Calvary
I want to stand with Christ
i write these words, but what do they mean?
a few letters, the meanings can't be seen.
use your imagination and think of the word green.
what do you see? i saw a tree.
no close your eyes and think of the word smile.
what comes to mind? sometimes it's hard unless you think for a while.
now think of happy, what does it mean to you?
my happy could be something completley different, something i hold onto.
so each letter in each word i write means something different to each reader.
do me a favor and write a story where the letters don't matter, it's the story that
counts.
Close your eyes, and you're there.
the words are simply a guide.
The shuddering waves hasten the night
the fullness of the moon hides behind copious clouds,
soon a roar becomes overwhelming amidst the storm
as the lashing rain solidifies upon the creaking bow.
freezing salty air
the siren of the whale’s call
enhance his struggles
It was then, as if a giant hand sweeps away the tempest
when tossed with in its heart, the tigerish rouge is subdued,
the lone sailor cries out in prayer as his trembling fingers
wipe away the remnants from his Bohemian brow.
paper thin egg shell
stained ribbons of wooded ply
wax candle aglow
His prayer was answered suddenly the clouds part
and the prominence of starlight shine through,
with his compass lost and guiding system kaput
he plots his way; sails the furrows of the celestial plough.
tears of gratitude
aid the swelling ocean waves
red sky a warning

When your world is topsy-turvy
Opt out -- if you must
But don't stop CHARITY
GIVE a few coins, slices of food,
To the beggars, real or fake
And the universe heals THE HEART
By degrees. College degrees fail
All too often as does "religion,"
Just be human, a mensch, once
A day, at the very least, & "dance"
The blues away (reluctantly, secretly)
How creeps the dark where life was brightly lit
when he who once mighty is idly damned -
to watch destroyed an energy and wit
makes concealed and sad a life long and grand.
Where the acquisitions of yesteryear
become a puzzle piece and not a whole,
where atrophy on each new day impair
the bravest heart! The old sense! The lost soul!
I have seen the inconsolable grace
and pride which inherit the living haze -
that robs all memory without a trace
kept more sedentary in mortal malaise.
When my time draws nigh I pray of the twain
that body and mind this soul still remain.

~Mon Cherie Amour~
Always in my heart you beat,
Like a drum in summer’s heat.
Cymbals I do lovingly hear,
Whenever our naked toes are near.
You, the ever-present, inspiration.
The driving force, behind my simple,
poetic creations.
I wonder oft, are my poems, dull or boring?
I shan’t apologize, as my wish, is~
To set other wanting souls....... soaring!
