Best Mingles Poems
I envy those living as part of the wild
For I too, once heeded its call
A smoldering ember since I was a child
Urge, and belonging all part of the thrall.
I’ve enjoyed the fresh taste of a sparkling stream
Felt the tremble as you push through your fear
Stood high on a peak admiring Gods scheme
Felt both delight and remorse for taking a deer.
I’ve walked for weeks through valleys and trees
Traversed mountains with lush native grass
Felt the warmth and the cold of high country breeze
Navigated tussock, forests and high country pass.
I’ve smelt autumn rain as it mingles with dirt
Enjoyed the isolation of me and my views
Valued crude shelter while nature unleashes its hurt
Watched forest birds doing their best to amuse
But I’m now destined to be one of societies slaves
In a world where worth is measured by cash
Where worry and stress are delivered in waves
Where those without are regarded as trash.
I felt most alive in the middle of nowhere
Now dead when hemmed by city and streets
Nothing compares with fresh mountain air
Living free, no money, bills, or receipts.

The moon's bow beckons to me,
wind's frosty fingers
entwining mine,
and I lay myself on the balcony's ledge
immersing, losing myself
under that inky blanket sea
the clouds rolling past, so fast,
skimming like waves veiling moonlight,
then letting it peek through
like a shy bride
beautiful, so beautiful
a gentle glow of soul
a silent lullaby that rocks me
If only for a moment
I keep my cradle of tears at bay,
as I let the moon do the weeping for me.

Debussy's Clair de Lune
now mingles in my mind like soft smoke
and tears come streaming...
Tired, so tired am I.

When sultry ripples take a hold
Replacing naive dreams
And fantasy becomes so bold
Seductive in its schemes
It moves into her mundane life
And tempts her with such skill
That she would follow anywhere
Against her weakened will
On soaring moonbeams she does fly
She mingles with the stars
And cushioned clouds become her bed
Seduction holds no bars
Loved and wooed by many
She wows the globe’s elite
Life is just a game for her
A playground at her feet
Sips champagne under starry skies
She dines with kings in Greece
Moves like Bardot in Monte Carlo
Goes au naturale` in Nice
But true love does elude her
Wrong choices to defeat
Gambles sometimes take a turn
Taste bitter from the sweet
Evening shadows enter
Before darkness takes its toll
And Paradise was just a lie
When naïve dreams did fall

I sit in stillness
framed by glass
the world outside dances
sunlight spills like golden honey.
yet within these walls I stay.
regret coils.....
around me tight as a noose
lurking in shadows.
I breathe in
inhaling the vastness of
the ocean's essence.
I can feel it
my heart beats.....
steady as stone.
I glance out and see
islands shimmering like dreams…..
clouds lazily drift by.
like ghostly albatrosses.
heavy with the mental wobbling weight
of untold excruciating hours
spent in despair.
I can hear
waves hum their foaming forgotten lullabies.
spilling secrets from the depths.....
beneath the starlit sky
I sail on
gliding over waveless waters
alone in the stillness of the night.
the salt air mingles with my thoughts
hope burns
a flicker caught in the tempest howl
distant as fires beyond the glass
a pleading prayer goes unanswered.
I gaze at
the world, so alive.....
filled with laughter and song.
joy drifts in like soft misty mist
but raw regret tugs at my heart.
snowflakes fall quietly.....
silence calls.
then Darkness Descends.
Draping the earth in it’s shadowy spell.
Dancing, Drumming, Devouring.
hope's last flicker Dies…..
echoes of a Dying breath
chaos reigns supreme.
I feel frozen
in this shattered world
where cracked glass bites into
my dreams.
I’m helpless.
I am a silent witness
to a dying light.
I find myself fractured like
just like the life
I let slip away.
I’m the voyeur of lost tomorrows.
their cost carved deep into
the marrow of my soul
a sentencing weight I’ll carry forever.

Listening to your heartbeat
I lie with my head on your chest
Voile curtains softly billowing in the breeze from the open window
Ecstasy still flowing through our veins
Lately we have become much closer
A true friendship now mingles with physical attraction
Unimpaired by our past lives
Gently, you curl your arm around me as you sleep
How truly happy that makes me feel
Light from a waxing moon creeps in
Over your sleeping form
Verifying my adoration of you
Even now, I can’t believe how lucky I am to have a life so full of love and laughter.

Alone figure stands,
On sunsets rock.
Summers hot breezes brush,
Against bare skins flesh.
Stalking the ageless path.
Behold histories Indian brave,
Man, and horse intertwined.
Symbiotic beings joined,
They are one.
The spirit rider gallops,
Across freedoms trail.
Cautiously, allying arrow unto bow,
Aiming swiftly his shot to kill.
Guardian’s raging bull charges,
Forward.
Protectors sacrifice, blood mingles,
Amongst dust clouds aftermath,
His majesty lies slain.
Dark brown eyes close,
Glimpsing blue sky for the,
Last time.
Heavens prairies, welcome destiny's,
Honorable foe,
The hunter kneels beside the giant's,
Stilled heart,
Giving thanks, singing chants rise,
Ascending heights greener,
Pastures unto a higher plain.
It echoes in valleys deep,
Touching the lands of his,
Fore fathers.
Tonight beneath flames tribal fires,
Rhythms beating drums, gives praise,
Many shall celebrate, feasting,
In memories tribute,

*Inspired by Edmund Blair Leighton's painting of the same title
She wanders into the garden,
A glorious book in her hand.
It's bound by the loveliest cloth,
And the story inside is grand.
The story provides an escape
From a life of duties and rules.
The characters become good friends
And prose adorns pages like jewels.
As lavender perfumes the air,
It mingles with wind through the trees.
She loses her place for a time
As pages are blown by the breeze.
Surrounded by flowers and shrubs
And shaded by trees that seclude,
She clutches the book to her chest
And basks in this sweet solitude.

A storm is brewing inside and out.
Can you hear distant thunder roll?
It mimics the buffeting of his clout,
clouds match the darkness of his soul.
Lightening strikes with its cruel bolts
As quickly as his hand pummels me.
The pain feels like a thousand volts.
From both angry storms I must flee!
Winds start gusting and blowing wild.
His screams match their howling force.
Brewing storms cannot be reconciled.
They leave devastation in their course.
I don't think I can take more vicious storms.
As cold rain washes over my battered face,
it mingles with warm teardrops of my alarm.
I must escape the furies of this raging place.

As I hear clinks of your cups
I can listen to orange sounds in your ample eyes
I can hear your obvious highs as if nearing a sea
Morning in a humming bee
You are busy at the mild harsh and tasty sound
The butter knife spreading butter on the dark dense toast
For the person you love the most
Eloquent silence all around
Soft munching sound from inside our mouth
Mingles with the wind from south
The door bell chimes its beautiful tune
Like the monsoon
Then comes the rustling of newspaper pages
The train crossing so many bridges
Combines with the rhythmic drumming of the woodpecker
The sound of your stirring sugar
Bubbling of boiled water in the kettle
They settle
In a silent sound of a loud red lily in bloom at the window
As rain falls in a crescendo
The flip flop of your sandals
Passing into your bangles clinking together
Culminating in the slurp as we sip tea
Real moments of pure glee
A great strength
Against the various wavelengths
Of the bang bark bray
Throughout the day

No sweeter a dream
Than chocolate and cream
The mixture of which
Is tasty and rich
And one mustn’t judge
The swirl in the fudge
Or those who make haste
To sample a taste
No greater reward
For one who is bored
Than cocoa delight
That mingles with white
All over my tongue
The flavors have sprung
A velvety stream
Of chocolate and cream

With such feminine flamboyancy
this maiden sways in breathtaking movements
flashing, flitting, flaming a sweet minuet--
beneath a mural of moonlight’s alchemy,
her flared gown fair as sequined feathers
that midway, in birdsong's sultry melody,
her flight of fancy floats on my garden- floor
and like a magical sylph in tints of magenta,
she mingles with blooms on lawn's mainstage—
oh this femme fatale; a Mayflower,
mantling the pageant of summer's first festival!

Alliteration
The moonlit sea hides within the scent of waves
which waft and lilt on shores of dreams
Evanescent thoughts of effervescent moments
linger oncemore through nights
where heart was young ,emotions deep and lips unsealed.
Alone I sit close to a rock which bears no colour
as softened ripples caress my memory
and silver stars outline the black of empty skies
The cold damp mist covers my eyelid
as the wind blows within my soul
the same old soul which knows each sound
each every rustle of shriveled leaves
brown whitering leaves which leap and creep
in prolonged darkness.
Somewhere so far my breath still mingles
in open fields beneath a sun
which warms the skin of evergreen
amongst white orchids which fill the air
somewhere so far somewhere out there.
Somewhere so far the worn out chords
of a guitar still play their tunes
and broken footprints still mark the path
of my bare shoulders within your arms
as broken voices whisper no words
as early snowfall freezes the years.

Charms of Nature
Noontide cordial sun immerse golden spheres
Birch and aspen leaves rhythmically quake
Susurrate deep in quietness appears
Timidly on soft earth shadow path wake
There, where nesting birds await safely perch,
While conceal sweet are their audible waft.
Cool breeze twine spider's web and bees who search
Stunning unadorned simple-ness echoes soft.
Lone senior British oak outstretch thick arm
Grasp weathered fraying pendulous tire swing;
Mid saffron blaze whilst it mingles off charm
Espy hushed cries for mortal yielding wings.
Lush meadow pigments an emerald green
Self quenching natures pulsing rapture scene.

Sonnet
Because of you
my lips are never cold
this heart is filled with love
and happiness is not a memory
A scarlet rose blooms in the rain
Each thorn births hundred petals
and fragrance fills the air
My beloved...
the Soft wind breezes on my cheek
and it is still your kiss
The moonlight shadow
descends by my window
and it is still your smile
My pillow-case is full of dreams
and you are still the dream
You are still the feeling
which travels beyond soul
You are still each breath
which mingles within my very own
Because of you...
the sun still rises every morn
Through its warmth
I feel your touch
Through its shimmer
I find those eyes
Through its fire
I find passion
and everlasting Us

nothing nothingtodo today
so I am in my little citygarden
sitting on the porch
in the shade with my tea
the garden full of rainbowgems and greenery
old fat cat is stretched out snoring
and little cat is on my feet
purring she just finished killing-
a blue flower it lay under her claw
the air is still the wind chime is waiting
and then a faint tinkle asoothingbreeze
in the distance the hum of traffic so faint-
it mingles with the silence
a hummingbird zipped by but did not stop
to say hello nothing nothingtodo
but sit in the shade watching my garden grow
