Best Meetings Poems

Meetings

I shall go to those places
Made holy by people,
People in common, divine from a place,
Back to community.
Back to commemorate
God in a face.

Then when I see
Why we worshipped together,
I shall go seeking assemblies of trees.
I shall go free then
Where freshets are murmuring
God in the leas.

Zoom Meetings

Zoom meetings can be educational
          giving you the chance to
      meet people with exceptional
                    verses like you

Each person takes their time to read aloud
          words written from their heart
      enraptured in a tented shroud
                    steeped in the art

The poetics of your soul soon take aim
          and give the reader joy
it may not bring you sudden fame
                    but you'll enjoy

the company of those who love like you
          the gentle words that cling
like vines upon your soul's sinew
                    you link, they bring....

Premium Member Back To School

I sit behind the computer
scripting the daily lesson plan,
while hoping there’s no intruder,
of them I’m not an eager fan.

A guest speaker comes to impart
something in boring monotone.
I hope he imparts something smart
or I’ll be reading on my phone.

A meeting scheduled noon today
is for, I’m not sure what or why!
The dull message makes my mind stray;
for this once, I wish time would fly!

My pencils are sharpened just so.
The computer is securely encoded.
My thoughts are ready to outflow
and my brain is close to imploded.

My nails are done; my hair is styled;
new shoes I bought last month, or week.
Addled from the hard push so wild,
the harried week seems rather bleak.

All tasks done as guideline bids.
Today is our convocation.
I don’t know about all the kids,
But I need a long vacation!

Agms(Annual General Meetings)

Here shareholders and directors clash
Each eager to excoriate rival's flesh
They do not allow resolution to psas
And things come to a horrible impasse
Unionists hurl puzzling queries
On vexing issues each member varies
'Oust that director finance' someone shouts
At hat's throw, the house, protocol flouts
Some pedants and professors seize the mike
And boringly lecture as long as they like
A bolt from the blue query blindslides the chairman
Someone flays management's fawning fan
At length the outcome is zero
The hunt ends searching a new hero

Premium Member People Who Make Meetings Last

I am intolerant of people who make a meeting last two extra hours.
Asking inane questions that pertain to only them.
And of the leaders of the meeting who allow them to take over.
Commandeering the rest of us.
Some think I am rude when I leave at the scheduled time.
Half of the other participants follow me out.

Meetings, the Practical Alternative To Work

Meetings, the Practical Alternative to Work

By Elton Camp

Do you want others responsibility to share
Then workers into a meeting you ensnare

What might have brought you derision
Then becomes a business group decision

Stand at the front as the meeting you start
Point with a stick as you show a flip chart

To feel important, the way that is best
Is to talk way down deep in your chest

“In my judgment” is what you must say
Not, “Well, I think it ought to be this way.”

The meeting game you should surely play
It always helps to get you through the day

You can eat donuts on the company’s dime
All while you manage to kill lots of time

Meetings Part One and Two

Meetings part one....A moon is neither a plant nor a weapon so never sit in a washing basket at ninety eight degrees. And a tick tocking plant is available for hop scotch games. Timed over frontiers and available to view in a slip stream. Hang gliding sparrows then. They dive to skies unseen. Whilst horses in cars kick out no fumes as fumes belong to plates of rotting peas in a disorganised kitchen. Speeches from a rhino make the bees tap dance. But when trapping an ant one must place a teaspoon to entice. Moonlit menagerie many monsters moving. *** armament aflame. *** antacid alter *** clandestine cinemas *** luminous .... Meetings part two....Circular wisdom robotic wisdom of a once well fed leaf. Orangutans race across the well placed floors of a once dusty landscapes when acrid moons sip a passing juice of sea bud. The flares from a dome can be found in worldwide chains. But never let it be said that upon mastery of sun chiming the turning flame could alter even the most dormant of chasm. Thus releasing the glows. Ejecting powerfully with great force. In a constant ever increasing united wave. Fathom not a thread. It is to be of great peril. Meetings, Bloody Meetings

Meetings, Bloody Meetings

Meetings, bloody meetings,
All talk yet nothing gets said,
Meetings, pointless meetings,
Power suits gone to their head.

Strategies, Blue Sky thinking,
Flip charts and a cup of tea.
How does any work get done?
There in meetings from 9 till 3.

Minutes, bloody, minutes,
Do we agree the points were read?
Minutes, pointless, Minutes,
Any other Business, NO! well said.

Let’s plan the way, going forward,
and agree what it should be.
Do we have Filter in the morning?
Or do we stick with Earl Grey tea.

Managers, wasteful Managers,
Attending a 3-day Seminar,
About making the most of meetings,
How crazy, how bizarre.

Chance Meetings

I spied an old man along the way

With a tattered cloak

He called to me

Where are you today?

I looked upon him

and smiled

I am with Moondust

Of soft glowings

Of days that grow dim

Of fires that glow

and of journeys to know

He offered to me

Something precious to him

 A wooden staff

and said….

Those who go in love,

are always free

Such beautiful wood

Handsomely carved

I did not understand the gift

The writings upon it

Nor understood

What can I give?

He replied

You already did

In small important ways

Those who go in love,

are always free

I clasped his shoulder

and shook his hand

Looked into his eyes

We will meet again

In a far off land

A man in his tattered cloak

Smiled gently ,

and said his goodbyes

Premium Member These Meetings

My Esteemed Comrades,
Fellow devotees of the Sacred Process -
It feels as though I've never left,
As though we've always been here
             Around a table
             Inside a room
                                        No windows No doors

Our collective voice falls on my ears
With all the pleasantry
Of sheet metal being slowly torn apart.

We have moved with all the expedition
Of snails racing across arctic tundra mudflats.

Our work is as relevant
As the growth of our toenails.

Our decisions as meaningful
As Babylonian algebra.

Our goals as clear as anyone's could be,
Before their Thorazine wears off.

This has been as much fun for me
As licking salt with a papercut tongue.

                I've grown to love these meetings;
                They define my life.
                I even dream of them.
They are my answer to the great Koan of the Void.

So when I die,
Fill my emptied veins with coffee black as space.
Call a meeting with Supreme Chair God,
To discuss the agenda of my DNA -
Record the Minutes of my life,
Weigh their worth against the sands of time,
Submit them for Review and Approval
To the Creation Committee
Before the universe implodes and the whole thing starts again -

Establish Rules of Order for the Ritual Dance,
The Alpha and Omega Circle of Proceedure,
For the Beginning of the End of the End of the Beginning
Of the
               Next
                           Eternal
                                            Meeting!

Meetings and Mismatches

Moments before the meetings
always so full of significance,
 aeon after mismatches
filled with bitter memoirs...

Meetings

Long before we came to the I do
Long before the moment we met
There were plans in the making for us two
Long before Adam and Eve drew breath

God laid out his plans for us to both be here
From meeting upon meeting through time
Paving the way so we'd meet up that day
Where I could love you for the rest of my life

Our ancestors all were kindly involved
Yours meeting yours and mine meeting mine
Where one day I'd be saved to pay the cost
Of loving you for the rest of my life

I sure none of them had or have a clue
Of my gratitude or how deeply I am in debt
Because without them neither I nor you
Would be here to ever have met

Premium Member Weekly Faculty Meeting Yum

Many are gabbing, like magpies on steroids.
As if we are getting away with something.
Our big chance to speak to adults, and we are taking it.
Teachers at a faculty meeting.
I distance myself in proximity and mindset.
This is a weekly meeting. I can jump
onboard next week as well as today, and catch up quickly.

Ready for my playtime to begin, not interested in their gabs.
It is usually some cute antidote I have already heard. I do not
teach reading or math; my job is to look for
the good in everyone. I can hold onto that if I do not
listen to the gabbing. I look for
the good in teachers too, after all.

These meetings are heavily saturated with testing,
attendance, reading, and math.
I teach none of these things. I am not responsible for
getting them here, and I detest all
of this incessant testing. Doubting the validity in the first
place, it makes not a whole lot of sense to me.

Snatches of conversations float past me. I look around.
Same players. Same conversations. I am serious, truly.
The same talkers, the same listeners. I move around from
table to table each Wednesday, to get different perspectives.
Most do not. I sit in the corner today, alone,
marveling at the dull sameness of the gabbing, and the conversations.

The lone wolf, howling silently, with her pen teeth.
