Lifting the Fog

Like milk from blue mountains' swollen breasts, the fog
Intertwines with pungent campfire smoke, a blue mist
Frescoing my quiet river valley's primeval lap.
Twilight tiptoes, surreptitiously, spying on secluded tryst;
Interlaced, grape and honeysuckle canopy overhead,
Noddng blossoms dripping sweet fragrance,
Granting nectared kisses my lips cannot resist.

The blue moon peers through hazy clouds, then turns
Hiding his eyes from lovers unashamed upon the ground;
Emotion rising in his core, he looks again and sadly yearns.

Furtively, he draws foggy blankets o'er us two,
Orchestrating sequestered solitude until
Golden sunlight warms the earth uncov'ring me and you.

Premium Member Lifting the Veil

Lifting the Veil

You see, Mr Bilton, Sir
This trumpet that you gave me
Fails my musical sense to stir
A guitar would surely save me

A guitar is all I yearn
Should I whinge and whine and wail
Or will His Dominance make mine turn
A whiter shade of pale

My puny chest draws deep a breath
My lips pucker to tweet
The notes inside were lost to death
Instead of sounding sweet

Sorry Sir, embarrassed I
For all that I exhale
Leaves the effort that I ply
A whiter shade of pale

Relenting to the obvious
He throws at me a strummy
It ain’t no Stradivarius
But sits well on me tummy

I plucks vibrations on the strings
My muse it lifts the veil
For on his rosy cheek there clings
A whiter shade of pale.

Lifting of My Veil

I been seeing my life through a cloudy veil.
Although it was my fault, my own sight I did curtail.
I believed in going with the flow, how could I fail?
Until my soul I taxed with a enormous bill of sale.

Hesitation became a crutch that I demurely hid behind.
Disillusionment concealed from my unconscious mind.
Instincts I ignored, to my ego, that was unjustly unkind.
Creating a hazy web of sorts internally, once all combined.

I lifted the veil and my vision is suddenly crystal clear.
Insight of self, promises an astronomical year.
Finally squelching the doubts whispering in my ear.
Thinking positively, I make a leap in my career.

Independence is now something I truly embrace.
Confidence is stronger, my fears I do solemnly face.
Life is now full of possibilities, no longer an enclosed space.
Lifting that veil, I can now contentedly say, I found my place!

Premium Member Lifting Veils

In the dead of night veils uplift on Mid Summer's Eve,
still a time for a few live sacrifices, so tread warily.
A time when briefly the gates of hell can open
and unworldly things spew forth intent on evil.

Mid Summer Night dreams can come to pass
most oft to those who's hearts are true and pure.
A night of extremes, of evil versus good, and
of the fires of covens and black magic.

A night where Pan himself comes forth
playing his Pipes with gleeful skirls.
Tempting and enticing the unwary souls
with false promises and exciting dreams.

Goddesses of Light dance around in circles
their task to push back the evils of hell
to allow departed lovers to hold their beloved
for a fleeting moment to love once more.

Premium Member Lifting of The Wreck

I come here often, stop,
and from the river bank, watch
the ribs of an old wreck break through
the surface on an ebbing tide.
After all this time it still seems
to crave for breath, to air
its last remains.

Whatever past it has
no longer resides in living memory
but in a paragraph inked
in a shipping registry sunk
deep in the basement
of the Maritime Museum,
or is somewhere forever becalmed
in a photograph,
time frozen on a sepia sea.

But this morning I took it in,
gave my mind
to its hollowed out hull
and let imagination
lift it from the mud and make
it whole. I sailed it
out of the suck of time
and set it upon an open sea
and as its sails billowed
across my mind, I got the sense
that throughout all the wear
of passing time,
it had been waiting for me.

Premium Member Lifting the Fog

Little crystals fallen angel tears smooching ground;
Instills cooling touch among grasses, buds and trees;
Facets rolling ambiguity ~ mystery;
Twirls then twines closely rush on branches bounds;
Inches white eerie cloud rhymes hang rest at key;
Nailing anyone to see natural history;
Garden fog silence~ conceals even tricks;

Tinge golden yellow linear streaks thread through
Hovering to break fogs' gloomy cold mood
Enchantment subsides, enlightening arise!

Fog succumbs ~ gradually disappears from view
Orchards' quiet green scenery renewed
Greets my cheeks breezy soft so prize...

Premium Member Lifting Love

A poem for couples who are apart often. 8 Syllables.

Your deep love wraps around my heart
A blanket that comforts a start
To begin the day with a kiss
That lasts through each moment I miss
I wait to give you all I can
Through the hours, I wonder when
We will return to our embrace
And look into each other’s face
Irreplaceable times ignite
The flame that carries our own flight
I will always be here for you
To catch you from any fall too
When you may feel too weak to fly,
I’ll lift you with the reasons why
And in these times you are away
Carry these words I have to say…
My love is here for you each day

Premium Member My God, Thank You For Lifting Me Up

August 8 Scripture Meditations Based on Ezekiel 4-11

Key Verse – Ezekiel 11:1 Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the LORD'S house…

MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR LIFTING ME UP

Thank You for lifting me up against sin-downfall
By Your forgiveness of pardon’s call
That cleanses my soul from wickedness, whether big or small
So I can stand uprightly tall upon Your mercy’s hall.

Thank You for lifting me up against error-backsliding
By Your holiness of graciousness’ upholding
That pulls my heart from defilement’s degrading
So I can forbear godly scolding.

Thank You for lifting me up against guilt-pressure
By Your righteousness of kindness’ measure
That drives my faith from fears’ enclosure
So I can pursue toward heavenly treasure.

Thank You for lifting me up against distress-discouragement
By Your truth of inspiration’s enduement
That propels my spirit from worldliness’ enticement
So I can seek Your revival fulfillment.

Thank You for lifting me up against slothfulness-sluggardness
By Your love of power’s effectiveness
That pulls my body from laziness
So I can labour with diligent earnestness.

Thank You for lifting me up against vanity-torture
By Your sufficiency of satisfaction’s gesture
That settles my emptiness from nothingness’ posture
So I can pray upon trust-filled venture.

Thank You for lifting me up against anxiety-disposition
By Your joy of goodness’ provision
That ends my discontentment-bouts midst dissatisfaction
So I can continue in Your constant compassion.

Premium Member Lifting Tram Rails In 1940

Lifting tram rails in 1940,
he was aware of the Louvre...
was aware of a cameraman.
Now we see a black and white world,
where leaves on trees have shed their green,
and the sky is a wish-washy grey...

We see the tram rails piled untidily,
and a bicycle boy on right
fearing he'll be late for school.
We see his and rail man's Paris of 1940
with years ahead of war in Europe,
and now bereft of trams.

Lifting the Bitter Cup

Having found great joy in giving I gave.
$25,000.00 anonymously shared.
What poor soul would this bequest save?
Who would thank God that someone cared?

I prayed for an answer and the wisdom to know.
To whom in the world should generosity flow?
Someone with wisdom to make kindness grow…
One poor visionary could multiply heaven’s glow.

I went to a park and looked around.
Folk’s laughter and love did there abound.
Children scampered with energy unbound.
It was there that my recipient was soon found.

A distant figure in the dark of shade,
One hungry man through the garbage waylaid.
Huddled in a coat with a dingy facade.
I slipped him a note with my message relayed.

Meet me in the morning at about sunrise.
You have found God’s favor; I have your surprise.
That the re-meeting was important I did realize.
The test: dependability and lucidness to surmise.

I went there at dawn and sat on a bench.
The bag full of money held tight in my clench.
My stomach was churning, my fingers did wrench.
I had thought that this giving would be a cinch.

Shortly I saw him walk across the lawn.
Curiosity and hope shone brightly upon his face.
What, I wondered, would experience spawn?
We sat there and talked about life, way past dawn.

He shared his dream and I gave him the bag.
Trusting that God would stay by his side.
One year later, he stood on a crag.
Praising his Lord for His constant abide.

Twenty-five thousand had increased a hundred fold.
Having lost everything that he had since birth,
He had learned a hard lesson when he had no gold.
So, he set out on a mission to heal man on earth.

Unselfish acts and the insight to invest
Led him down a path to wisdom and success.
He passed love forward filling each bitter cup.
Along his way, he, too, lifted others up.

Lifting the Fog

Lord,I am lost
I have wandered
Far from
The righteous path
Into the mists of desire
Never thinking of consequences
Grabbing at the easy rungs of life

Trouble has become a companion
Here now I pledge,no more
Enter my life,I pray

For
Only you can show the way
Grace me with your light

Lifting the Fog

Listening, waiting, watching
Intently, wondering
Focused, not daring to move
The little robin waits
Immobile, watching the gardener
Nothing stops his merry chirp
Going to enjoy breakfast

The fog of early morning
Heated by the watery sun thins,
eating is a priority for robins short life

Fog of wondering is lifted
Only turned soil will supply worms
Gardener gets up early to provide
