Black Beauty

Black like a rare diamond.
Perfectly sculpted.
White as a snowy peek .
Reflecting off the glistening waves.
Your beauty and grace challenge us.
Mostly free, we morn for your captured brothers.
Gliding and leaping through the blue.
Chasing your soul mates protecting your tribe.
Your song is herd for miles deep.
Echoing on the icebergs.
You are magnificent, alluring.
Teasing us with your glance.
Swim far Orca be free

A fishing boat left the port of Kinsale
The rain was lashing and blowing a gale
Fishing grounds were in sight
Then they had a great fright
Along side swam a giant killer whale.

A fish pong round the boat was so smelly
"Hold your noses "cried out Captain Kelly
Whale then bit off a chunk
Fishing boat and crew sunk
They all ended up in the whales belly.

black and white landscape
a colony of penguins ~
standing and waddling

in the oceans depth
lives a black and white giant~
orca killer whale

seal on an ice flow
oblivious to danger ~
head butting whale strikes

egg laid by female
emperor penguin stands guard~
female goes hunting

not in Africa
elephant and leopard seals~
sea is their jungle

hourglass dolphins
smaller than a bottlenose~
keen bow wave riders

home is in the air
the wandering albatross~
a ten foot wingspan

in the frozen south
a species of royal bird~
the emperor penguin

the antarctic terns
fly over a silver dish~
krill is on the menu

thick and warm white coat
a camouflaged artic fox~
unseen in the snow

top of the food chain
carnivorous white giant~
fearsome polar bear

I’m sorry for my flaws
I appreciate everything you do for me
I wish I could always smile at passing children
I wish I felt better about myself
I wish I saw the light you provide for me
The light I voluntarily turn my back from
The light I’m suppose to drink
As if to keep hydrated.

I’m surrounded by quarters and unfinished books
I read because I’m searching for affirmation
Quarters for clothes to be kept clean.

I’m divulgent
I parade my flaws
I hide, trip, and reveal my flaws
I am in constant concern of my own being
And a stillness of thought for a mind to be kept clean.

The world is a messy place
Our mind the raking of leaves
The leaves of the world fall and we rake
The leaves of the world fall and we rake
We fall and awake and fall again.

Love is warm, harmless, and stamped
Inefficiently weak by the assemblies of faces
Swept up by the world’s business of cold linear time
Moving like a sad and brutal train.

I sit at the station
My fingers interlocked pressing against my face
Peering through the thicket of my spirit.

Hours later, maybe, I am looking up the hill
Pulling my elephant.
Children circle around my small progress
Skipping and laughing.

(They don’t care,
They just like elephants.)

Though, last night, I dreamt I rode a killer whale
And so here it dawns on the weakened spirit:

That I am the Whale Rider of the Phantom World
Wandering through 10th Avenue
My flaws in our wake
My fist pumped high in the air
In the name of a Life Authentic.

This all dreamy and wonderful
While in the world of machines and mass movement
The elephant keeps his slow, tugging gait behind me,
Ignorant of dreams.

Fathoms Deeper

"Fathoms Deeper"

What are these strange creatures?
They swim in skins
not their own

calling us
into them
they amuse us

we are fathoms deeper

they
are a long way
from Home

My Life's Boast

THE GROUNDS I WALK ON IS TOO WORTHY FOR ALL TEN TOES ON YOUR FEET.

THE AIR I BREATHE IS TOO ROYAL FOR YOUR LUNGS.

YOUR EYES AND EARS ENOUGH ARE NOT SHARP ENOUGH FOR WORDS I SPEAK.

YOU ALL CAN NEVER BE ONE OF A KIND, FOR THAT ONE OF A KIND IS ME.

I WOULD NOT BLAME YOU IF YOU ENVY ME.

YET, STILL I HAVE NO ANIMOSITY.

MY LOOKS ARE TEMPTING AND MY EYES WILL HYPNOTIZE

THE EXAMPLE OF INNOCENCE RESTS UPON MY FACE.

THE MIDDLE CHILD YES THAT IS I.

VERY CANTANKEROUS YET ATTITUDE OF A DOVE.

BEAUTY IS MY FEATURES IN AND OUT WHILE SASSY IS MY MOUTH.

YOU ALL DON'T STAND A CHANCE

I'M A KILLER WHALE AND YOU ALL ARE JUST TROUTS.

SO GET IN LINE AND WAIT YOUR TURN

FOR I'M A GODDESS AND THAT YOU'LL LEARN.

NOW DON'T BE SHAME

JUST TURN TO YOUR NEIGHBORS FOR THEM TOO ARE ONE OF MY MANY HATERS.

Bon voyage. Out to sea. A luxury cruise.
Out to sea. Things UNKNOWN about this sea.
Cruising away with warmth in tow

One serene ocean was seen
While venturing out alone on deck
An orca had been noticed, a
KILLER WHALE in its natural home.

A habitat mostly UNKNOWN.

W hales are one of the largest an most beautiful magnificent marine mamals in the world

An Inuit's Longing For Home

Oh that I could speak with the Northern Lights,
And commune with the Spirits therein.
Or dance to the tunes of the Arctic wastes,
Return to a life - sanguine.

Oh that I might commune with Wolf and Bear,
And hear of the tales they could tell!
To share their life in the cold barren North
Which Southerners think of as Hell!

Oh to swim neath the ice of the Arctic seas,
And fish with the leopard seal:
To cavort with Orca the Killer Whale,
On a hunt for his daily meal!

Oh that I could bask in the Midnight Sun,
With a Walrus taking its ease:
Or soar with an Eagle through ice blue skies,
On a flight to wherever it please!

Oh that I could run with the Caribou,
Or watch the Musk Oxen grazing.
That stoically stand with backs to the storm,
And show patience most amazing!

Oh that I could play with Sea Otter pups,
Or feast on the flesh of a clam.
Or watch a litter of Arctic Fox cubs,
Play close by their vigilant dam.

Oh that I could see flocks of Geese and Ducks
That feed on the lush Arctic grass.
Or to quench my thirst from waters cold,
That flow from an icy crevasse!

Oh that I could return to that pristine land,
Which my anguished heart calls home
To the land where I was born and raised,
That calls to wherever I roam!

Oh ‘tis true, my travels of far and wide
Have shown me worldly delights,
But the Arctic is where I’d rather be,
Under the glow of the Northern Lights!

Premium Member A Wonderful Thing

What a wonderful thing is an elephant,
He is savvy and witty and eloquent,
He remembers your name and he'll never forget
Everything that you said every time that you met,
What a wonderful thing is an elephant.

What a wonderful thing is a kangaroo,
She is chipper and dapper and happy, too;
She bounces and dances, she's never a grouch,
And her Joey gets dizzy inside of her pouch,
What a wonderful thing is a kangaroo.

What a wonderful thing is a wallaby,
If I could I think that's what I'd wanna be,
Though I don't know a whole lot about them, I fear,
Do they have bushy tails, do they have furry ears?
Well I still think that I'd like to be a wallaby.

What a wonderful thing is a killer whale,
The fin on his back looks just like a sail,
He can swim in the ocean so fast and so hushed
And it takes him all day for his teeth to get brushed,
What a wonderful thing is a killer whale.

What a wonderful thing is a little girl
She wears a cute bow with her pretty curl
She brightens your world in her own special way
When she smiles you get goose bumps that won't go away,
What a wonderful thing is a little girl.

What a wonderful thing is a little boy
He brings to his parents a lot of joy
And his grandparents love him and so do each cousin
His uncles and aunties all think the world of him
What a wonderful thing is a little boy.

What a wonderful world the Lord has made,
All the colors and shapes brilliantly arrayed
All the critters and planets and oceans and trees
All the seasons and flavors, the you's and the me's
What a wonderful world the Lord has made.

The Changing Sea

I have seen the sea be a mill pond,
seen it like a mirror
where mountains reflect
unshimmering there.
And herring skittered
on the surface to escape
the mouth of the killer whale.

But I have seen the sea
off Newfoundland's Cape Ray
when waves were mountain high
and on reaching the wave top looking down
into a vast valley of iron coloured water,
The grave of many a man.

To me the sea is a changing thing
like life and breathing in
and the salt moistened air in my face
forever gives life to me.

What Kind of Animalyou Like To Be

What kind of animal would you like to be?

I would like to be a seaturtle from the sea.

Maybe an eagle that soars through the air,

A symbol of our freedom, that we share.

What about an owl with large yellow eyes,

That hoots, that is so very wise.

A large gray wolf that runs in a pack,

To hunt its prey with an fatal attack.

A large african elephant with a trunk so strong,

That never forgets,no matter how long.

A killer whale that hunts, with a single bite,

A creature that is covered in black and white.

A cheetah with lightening fast speed,

A very cool cat Indeed.

No matter what kind of animal you like to be,

They all are God's creature's,Guaranteed.
