High Blood Pressure and White Coat Fever

I HATE how it squeezes
It unnerves and freezes
Blood pounds through the arm
Setting off my alarm
Read her face like a book
(The nurse has that look)
"It's high to the max"
"Just try to relax!"
"You're close to a stroke"
(Lord, I need a smoke)

Heart

Heart you are the destroyer
Heart you’re a killer
Why are you doing this to me?
Why don’t you do your functions?
Stop to interfere with my other organs?

You are making a festival of diseases to my body
While you are incurable
You’re exposing me to high blood pressure
It requires a hypothetically proven cardiologist to operate you
Every time when I see something of beauty you intrude my mind

You’re making wrong decisions for me
You’re purpose is to pump blood and
Is to remove the waste products that I don’t need
Not to see outcomes of a decision before you commit them
Now I am friendless because of your companion jealousy

People asks themselves what can pass through me without an attempt
My friends think that I am a copy cat because of you
A stone is sufficient to be your replacement if you were not my life support
organ
Heart Stop intrusions and let my mind make decisions for me

He was the last of his kind and it was known.

Some dated him one hundred years and he had style.

Christmas was his time and the rest of the year he felt nothing.

But Thanksgiving came and some cared and tried to help.

They came in their vans with Almighty Church of Thanksgiving and Christmas painted on its sides.

But after the New Year he was alone again except for his friend the rat.

He slept in the subway, where it wasn't too bad.

His clothes were in tatters and the rat brought him food.

His blanket was newspapers which he read and then slept underneath.

Sometimes the rat read to him while he snoozed.

The niners went casually around him and his newspapers but some listened to the rat reading.

The rat was nice and sometimes the Old Man would read to him too.

The rat loved the funnies and would roll over holding his stomach laughing.

The Old Man grabbed his Thunderbird and gave some to the rat.

The rat drank when in the mood and most times he was.

The rat wasn't supposed to drink because of his high blood pressure.

The old man loved the rat but he often disappeared and it made him sad.

He took a pull and wondered where the rat had gone and braced against the cold.

He saw the rat sitting in the booth where the tokens went and rat waved him through.

He was hungry and searching found a perfectly good hamburger in the pickup window.

People watched as he dug in the trash can and the train lighting the tunnel.

He washed the burger down with the last of his Thurnderbird and decided to get on the train before it came.

Genetic Lottery Wheel

Genetic Lottery Wheel

Playing the genetic lottery wheel taking another spin
Hoping it will pass me by but I always seem to win

Placed around the wheel various illnesses and diseases
Addictions, mood swings or joints that ache or freezes

Diabetes, high blood pressure, and osteoporosis
Thank God I haven’t hit the one with tuberculous

Just the other day I was lucky to hit fibromyalgia
On the genetic wheel even has a place for nostalgia

I know this isn’t an illness or disease but cruelty I believe
They give you a quick glance back on how it use to be

The wheel keeps growing and more is added each day
But everyone has their own wheel with its own display

We can’t choose if we win or lose or what we will get
But maybe you will be lucky and hit the flu or night sweats

Good Luck!!

With minus 16 degrees and
starry sky when the light took night

                          Six days to Christmas
and we all expect a visit from the North Pole

Santa's body shape and apparently huge belly
is a sign that should be taken seriously,
diabetes and high blood pressure
At risk of life and health - spread of covid-19

This Christmas he is working in unfavorable working conditions
Nine hundred visits per second ... no wonder
he gets stressed, sweaty and red at the top

Listen here my friends
Everything you need, is a red hat and white beard
Santa needs your support
but, remember to keep distance, face mask and gloves

Teenage Pregnancy

With broken heart and all alone, she cried.
“I love you.” were his words, but he lied.
A sweet young girl now lost in deep despairs.
No! Teenage pregnancy; God knows and cares.

She always was her daddy's little girl.
His precious child to womanhood was hurled.
A father's love surpasses anger's flares.
No! Teenage pregnancy; God knows and cares.

She went to church to learn the right and wrong.
A choir angel singing heaven's song –
Brothers, sisters solemnly sit and stare.
No! Teenage pregnancy; God knows and cares.

Her rounded body feels the life within.
Motherhood lives near to her chagrin.
Her mother held her close; the tears were theirs.
No! Teenage pregnancy; God knows and cares.

“Sure, she's nice,” he said, but we are so young.
Fatherhood was not for him; his song was sung.
“She should have been more careful,” he declares.
No! Teenage pregnancy; God knows and cares.

Salt and Sugar

salt and sugar
pull the trigger
high blood pressure diabetes
fight wars without any treaties
good food is much too sweet
causing some a defeat
alternatives are there
so keep yourself aware
think healthy and pure

Come Take a Trip With Me

Come take a trip with me it more of a journey
Ride life's hi-way with me the thrills and chills of all the pills
Climb inside my mind after brain surgery when I could hear but not speak;
It was what I would have imagine doing acid or LSD would be
not being able to speak or walk falling when you tried by yourself but as I got better
I could stand on my own after a week I could walk but talk it took longer and I was
a BIG TALKER & WRITER but not so much anymore so when I do it is not for the prize
I do it for me to prove to myself I still can

Come take a trip with me down my life's hi-way
My road has not been long but fill with lots of big pot holes
First before I was a double digit midget I fell and cut my writing arm
thus forcing me to learn how to write again first pot hole
I was putting up groceries with my brothers and I was hit with a 5lb can of coffee
in the face cutting my nose 5 stitches second pot hole
Riding my horse in a race and was bit by the other horse and again stitches third pot hole
kidnapped in my teens but got away four pot hole
I thought when I got married I broke the curse wrong I flipped a pickup when I was
pregnant 3 times me and the baby took our first steps together fifth pot hole
Then he want somebody to play with it took 5 years to get a sister six pot hole
His senior year I battled brain cancer I had brain surgery and the took out as much of the tumor as they could now my husband and children are stuck raising me
I now have cancer low sugar seizures and high blood pressure but it wont be any of theses that get me oh no my kids will be the DEATH of me
For with love come the greatest pot hole in life at the bottom is the most emotional
ride joy anger hate compassion kindness consideration discipline and wrapped up and sewn together with love so I know
Even the smallest ants cast a long shadows
I have been gone from the soup for months ands Linda came to look me up and invited me to her blog it was because I had a grand mall and it sucked!

Older Than I Remember

Things have not gone,
the way that you believe they should.
I have not said a thing.
Things are not what they need to be,
but that does not matter.
I will stand beside you forever.

Getting old, life happens.
Being young was easy.
Now everything must be;
measured, counted, poked, prodded,
cut, snipped, or looked at.
Vampires are fed often,
the amount of blood requested,
on any given trip,
gallons.

Cancer, prostate,
high blood pressure,
or worse.
Nitrous…
Headaches, depression,
brought on by too many
visits to too many places,
you were never supposed to go
if and or unless…
you were dragged.

It is hard to remember,
When we danced all night.
Now we take turns on the walker.
Now we have a plate on the car.

You are still everything to me.
I know we are not the same,
But I believe we are better.
I would not change a day…
a moment, an instance,
from here to there,
for anything else.

The word my heart speaks,
out loud to my soul,
not in a whisper,
but in prayer,
to my God…
humbly,
thanks.

I Give Thanks

I give thanks
for a Dementia patient growing more loving in latter years, my mother
for a Dad who has diabetes, high-blood pressure, overweight, and
should have been in the grave 20 years earlier like father and brother

I give thanks
for a wife with lymphoma who has shown her faith and love of God
for a son who traveled the world and used nursing skills for others
for a daughter with challenges growing up, after college had four job offers

I give thanks
For churches that I have attended that have helped mature me
For good jobs to help take care of my family and those in need
For a great education from a Community College and University

For iron sharpening friends and mentors in to my life they gave
For my Lord Jesus Christ who first loved and got me saved
I give thanks
