Best Heart To Heart Poems
Children placed in foster homes are
swiftly shuffled from heart to heart.
Breaking links in a chain of love;
goodbye; precedes every new start.
Wary eyes scan every fresh face,
trying to catch a glimpse of hope.
But intolerance and half-truths;
aggravates their plight, so they cope.
Love sounds like an empty promise;
delivered by a silver tongue.
For it's either misunderstood,
or disbelieved in hearts so young.
They've been suckled on hope and fear,
feelings felt from an early age.
And on realizing their fate,
they oft succumb to inner rage.
They remain undesirable
right up to their eighteenth birthday.
Upon which; labeled a burden,
they are abruptly sent away.
"Why do you love me, Dear?" she cooed.
"You're cuddly, cute, and sweet," he said.
"Your mama's cat is too," she cried
and made some distance in the bed.
"Just teasing, Hon! I wasn't through,"
he reasoned with his peeved young wife.
"I'd be a wretched, lonely man
without you to complete my life."
"Now, why do you love me?" he asked.
Her answer: "You're so good and kind
and very easy on the eyes.
A man like you is quite a find."
He smiled. "Such precious words, my love,
but you've described our pastor too
and other men we both could name.
Why was it I you chose to woo?"
"Your point is gently made," she said.
"My HEART chose you, and yours chose me."
Mere words will never be enough
to tell what eyes of love can see.

Darling, will you love me still if I weren't a poet?
Will you hold my hand if I hypothetically happened
to pause my pen from poesy?
If I didn't use alluring alliterations to express my emotions?
If my soul stayed silent with no more stimulating similes?
Will you respect me if I refrain from rhyming ruminations?
Will you really care for me if I didn't use
imaginary imagism in our intimate interactions?
Will you share my worries if I were to withhold myself from writing?
Will you miss me manufacturing meticulous metaphors?
Will you caress and comfort me
if I cease to construct colourful canticles?
My handsome hero, will you accept me if I were a normal girl,
And not your special sweetheart with spectacular songs?
Will you tolerate my tantrums if my tongue terminated those tugging tunes?
Will you hold and hug me if I were to halt my hand
from creating clever, catchy compositions?
Will you value me verily if my verses vanish and vaporise?
If my muse turned morose and mum, will you still stay by my side?
If my moods metamorphosed into melancholic mysteries,
will you be mad at me or motivate me?
Will you still find me mesmerizing if making melodies escape my memory?
If I discontinued my ditties, will you discard me or defend me?
Will you be fond of me if I freeze my fingers from fashioning your fanciful fantasies?
Dearly beloved, will you still lavish me with love forever
if I were not a person to present my poetic preparations?
If I were to discontinue my direct declarations, will you still delight in me?
Oh! Will you appreciate me anyway if I abandoned my artistic abilities?
Tell me, my dear and I will stop my stuttering soul and muttering mind...
Will you prohibit my passion for poems...
or accept me as I am?
Close to his mother's warm naked breast
cradled a little treasure of a child
The peace of mind that only the small seed can feel
Thoughts and love shared in deep silence

Sing sadness now and again, but still sing
Kneel for forgiveness, yield weaknesses, kneel
Raise your head high for the banner you raise
In your heart keep me always, let me in
Made honor your sacrifice, courage made
Mined hope from ashes, life lessons you mined
Pain gained from your sorrows, gained strength from pain
Time lost before is never wasted time
Carry love, sing, a joyful tune carry
Rejoice in my love, in all things rejoice
Lead your hymn solo, and me you will lead
Praise many virtues, though tis love you praise
Love never leave you empty handed, love
Mine heart is golden, treasure always mine

This is what is called a Shadow Sonnet, beginning and end of each line must be identical or
a homophone. Harder than I expected.
Liberated spirit, keep up the fight
acquiesce not to the world foray,
where darkness is deemed to be light.
It would be easy to lose your newly found sight,
and follow people’s popular precipitous way.
Liberated spirit, keep up the fight.
Steel yourself against the wolf’s sharp bite,
Clothed in sheep’s fair wool today,
Where darkness is deemed to be light.
Ask for help from the heavenly Might,
And bend your ear to Wisdom’s say,
Liberated spirit, keep up the fight.
Mistake not immorality for right,
keep verbal engineering far at bay,
where darkness is deemed to be light.
Be not depressed in this world’s plight,
Let Him lift you from where you lay.
Liberated spirit …keep up the fight,
where darkness.. is deemed to be light.

When my eyes are closed,I see your elegance
Possessing handful of enviable radiance
On the mountain top, I view you
Holding you is what I can't hesitate to do
Spark of joy in my heart at the beach shore
That is why I say I need some more
Every man wants you on twitter
But you say no;not even later
Our love I secure with a barbwire
Because it is only you I admire
Jewel fairer than words of wonderous virtue
Every sculptor wants to have your statue
Girl you are my hope in the wilderness of shame
The candle that produce nice blue flame
I promise to make you warm in my arm
Cos a thousand mile you are far from harm.
Oh, heart*, God wants you to be under His control surely
For out of you come issues of life tremendously;
Your evil motives provoke consciously
Enabling the will to harden obstinately.
Oh, heart, you must submit to God with earnestness
For you must be changed from your deceitfulness;
Your negative reactions lead toward faithlessness
Drowning the soul into depths of doubtfulness.
Oh, heart, obey God's direction
For you ought to follow biblical instruction;
Your foolish counsels can pull someone down to frustration
Causing the spirit to wallow in desperation.
Oh, heart, you need God’s discipline for your molding
For you become so stubborn and unbending;
Your proud perversions keep many unyielding
Weakening convictions from their firm standing.
Oh, heart, your confidence in God must always be constant
For you easily waver making the anxious futile and dormant;
Your unstable ways confuse them in every instant
Robbing them of joy, peace and blessings so abundant.
Oh, heart, keep submitting to God’s commandments
For you, by His power, can help the brave reach heavenly attainments
Your willing attributes propel them to comply to godly agreements
Driving their persistence to pursue after eternal achievements.
Oh, heart, victory in God awaits you in your humility
For you can be perfectly wholly for Him in His working ability;
Your unselfish desires push the meek to seek His kingdom’s priority
Moving them to serve the Lord with truth and sincerity.

on a foreign land
the dripping blood of new friends
people end their lives
Mother, I feel the weight the spinning world.
I feel each parental nudge, as a rock, in the cairn of my life,
the weight coats my fragile fleeing thoughts, dulling.
The spinning child teeters to adult whirlwind, still, sloughing stale nudges.
Worlds appear and disappear within the turmoil of my roiling mind
feel each parental nudge declined,
as a rock standing firm against a gale of fright
in the cairn** of my life, I will reign.
Son, I know I ask too much, am too much, give too much, hold me.
I know, you know, I too spin, and teeter in the winter of my years.
I ask only that you see my love, in the absences, as we grow.
Too much of mewling mother has melded with you, I weep.
Am too much, and in being so, feel never enough.
Give too much of my own fear, though unintended, it bleeds.
Hold me close as my time is ending, and the rocks of my reign fall.

Skin to skin
heart to heart
bonded together
by sheer devotion
fuelled by waves of the sweetest emotion
through giving caring and sharing
a beautiful union
of deep unquenchable desire
born of true eternal love.

Come lay your heart now over mine
Cause it to feel the rhythmic beat
Let your nearness revive…bring life
Electric shock of body heat
My heart is faint, about to die
Weary, sure to give up this fight
Come lay your heart, love, over mine
Bring monitor to life with light
Heart over heart the beat transfer
From your quickened electric pace
My heart catches the vital spark
As I look up into your face
Lips to lips now resuscitate
Your limbs on mine now intertwine
Body upon body infuse
Call me back from heav’n divine
My heart flutters and starts to beat
Intensifies, responds to kiss
Body tingles with healthy glow
Heart beat is strong… nothing a miss
When life imparting work is done
You slowly start to pull away
Checking for vital signs of life
Your face over my heart must stay
You listen for the rhythmic sound
Your head rides on my heaving breast
My breaths of life your hair caress
Your head turns as you kiss each crest
My body, soul, and mind refreshed
I reach for you, love reignites
Now my heart lies on top of yours
Resuscitating from the heights!

HEART TO HEART CHAT.
The sun is that hot dot,
Above all children of the soil.
Love sounds better than
Confessions from the voice,
She’s the reason of the world
There’s absolutely no other choice.
My soul never sees the rain
She trains every grain
To reproduce without range.
Man is neither a cage,
When you sing his praise,
He could shine beyond
Any flame.
Sand made it all,
History of foot prints
Hitting the ground,
Is a town that’s ruled by sounds.
Your feet could consume
The entire field between minutes
An eye always monitor
The speed.
Don’t loss your soul
Cause you fear the unknown,
When the breath finally rest,
Let’s not end like eggs.
AKEWUSOLA HABIB.
Light through window-
my friend waits
on another table
but affections stirred.
Seasons ago
our lives got in the way
of what could have been.
Still after a few minutes
she comes to me
and for a moment
we’re together.
Old conversations shared
find new life
and now she’s part-time
caring for her daughter
at home
(I saw her daughter once
at the restaurant once)
and yes I’m still writing.
She wants to buy
my next book
just like the others books
She pats me
on the shoulder
remnants of love
shared as if
it never died
and a tree outside
regains its bloom.

Unity Consciousness Contest
I have put my yes near your eyes,
I have put my heart near your heart,
We have counted stars side by side,
And painted rainbows on rainy days,
Just to add colour to the bleak.
Together we wrote down our dreams,
We weaved an intricate web of destiny,
Spun the webs of fate,
Created something so beautiful,
No gem could be put to it.
It is a perfect duet,
whenever you sing your heart to me,
And I pour my feelings to you,
Nothing but the stars above,
Know the magic that bids us,
When we are heart to heart.
