Best Gang Poems
There is a new English gang in town
In the town of Punctuation
They call themselves the “Punch U” gang
A solid gang with a strong foundation
The Punch-U gang members consists of:
Hyphen - the gang leader
They call him Dash
He is charismatic, clever, a born leader
Firm but fair…. excepting no gang trash
Exclamation point ! Dash’s right hand man
They call him Lanky
He is confident and likes to make his point
Dramatic and often a little cranky
Asterisk * Dash’s girlfriend
They call her Starr
She is smart, astute, keeps mental notes
A free spirit who sings and plays guitar
Question Mark ?
They call him Curly
He is so very inquisitive
Often indecisive
A deep thinker and quite surly
Comma ‘
They call him Jack
He is quite the lad and joker
Jack often steps out of line
And needs to be kept on track
Brackets ( )
Identical twins called Jill and Joy
Always together or never far apart
Fun and happy
Popular with the boys
Full stop .
They call her Dot
Outspoken and very definite
Always likes to have the last word
Often heard saying “ Now thats it….just Stop”
Quotation Mark “
And yes they call him Mark
He likes being the centre of attention
Being in the know
Does not like being left in the dark
Apostrophe ‘
They call her Sue
With Sue there is always something else to come
Taking short cuts
Is what Sue enjoys to do
Colon:
They call him Number-Two
Funny, entertaining and chatty
Though sometimes he takes it too far
Talking a lot of poo!
From my bus window-
in unison, all at once a g a n g of tiny brown sparrows
hovered, and then perched on BARE branches
of a small tree-
they hung on like t r e m b l i n g brown leaves,
in the WIND - exactly the same
then, the throng left-
winging in unison . . .

theres two types of gangs to join
you dont have to flip a coin
to know which one that you need
once gets you in trouble
the other helps you succeed
the gang at school is called a club
it keeps you off the streets and drugs
so do what i did and be strong
by choosing right clubs, and not wrong
like the smoking council where i taught
kids what would happen if they thought
cigarettes made you look cool
smoking them with friends at school
the newspaper was hard but fun
we couldnt leave till it was done
making sure that every story
was interesting and not boring
the chess club was a real treat
my competition was so neat
against a boy that was not grinning
when i called out check mate from winning
My son and his family drove down from the big city,
out to the countryside with open fields and steams.
They brought their standard golden poodle along,
a curly-haired fellow, name of Timmy.
Timmy had never seen a cat;
not even a mole or a furry rat.
Visiting country kin, he was checking things out.
Everything went fine that very first day.
Cats went about paying him no mind.
He walked about just passing time.
On that second day there was a big mistake.
Being a city dog with more worldy ways,
to add pleasure to his hum-drum days,
he thought it time to befriend these country kin.
The cats had never seen a dog this small,
only those on stilts, big, long and tall,
like Pyrenees, big wide mouths and teeth to match.
With barking big dogs on the scene,
up a tree they squirreled, never to be seen.
But this golden-haired fellow, with city clout--
they’d give him benefit of instinctive doubt.
Mama cat was even so bold
to sniff this city slicker right on the nose.
Sizing him up all the while, a friendly rat, she surmised,
a might bigger than some she had seen,
playing cat and mouse, yet acting so coy;
that is, until that overgrown golden-haired rat
walked up to Mama’s black baby boy.
Mama’s two other sons, another black and a blue,
began to gather nearer this city dweller, too.
Timmy politely extended his nose.
black son cat extended his razor-sharp claws,
with a bristled tail and fierce hissing jaws.
Timmy let out with a painful yelp,
as Mama cat called all boys in for help.
Cats surrounded and gave chase to the dog,
life-fearing circles around the cedar tree he’d log;
four hissing cats hot on his tail,
poor Timmy yelping in a desperate wail.
The master of Timmy gave rescue,
but Mama cat and her three grown sons,
strutting in pride, putting a dog on the run.

If I hear Gucci Gang one more time I'm going to go insane
I went from being a tortured poet, to a music artist's music leaving me in pain
Repeating the same words for 2 minutes, you leave most poets pens ashamed
Out of all the new rappers, I couldn't tell you ten names
They're all the same, rapping about nonsense
Oh you take drugs and brag, thank you for the context
I'd rather listen to Nas, Rakim, Lupe Fiasco, Kendrick Lamar and stuff more complex
Lil Pump is as talented as an orange
Does he even speak a real language? Because everything sounds Foreign
Ice Cube, Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie, Big Pun, Eminem, Tupac, Bone Thugs N Harmony were the best people
Lil Pump, Young Thug, Soulja Boy, and most these new rappers make me jealous of deaf people
At least if I was deaf I wouldn't have to hear what they say
But they mumble their words so I can't make it out anyway
a dictionary of words, and these fools use the same 10 words in every song
These days rappers are all the same, there's no edgy one
I'm 25, but grew up on Jadakiss, Fabolous, 50 Cent, Game, and Wu Tang
So forgive me for not caring about these drug addicted bragging rappers with their new slang
Holding on to 80's 90's and early two thousands Hip-Hop so I won't lose touch
But I can't believe half the nonsense I'm hearing from this new stuff
When these rappers come on you have to Mute it
The best new rappers, are Cole, Kendrick, Nino Bless, Locksmith and Joyner Lucas
Sometimes holding on is good, but you need to know when to remove the hand
Which is now, because I'm going to go insane the next time I hear Gucci Gang
Beside the busy highway,
In the bushes there lay supine’
A despoiled corpse of a splendid damsel,
Scratched, bruised and all nailed,
Her cheeks bore the prints of teeth,
And marble-white neck blue scars,
Her silky white dress was spotted,
With the dots of blood,
Her delicate white soft shoeless feet,
Were still unharmed,
Her hair was disheveled, added to her grace,
Her eyes half opened,
As they were looking afar high beyond the sky,
To her dwelling place,
The wronged lips still bore an elegant smile,
If saying, "O! Dwellers of the world be happy evermore,
I depart to my own celestial place,
Where no one will desecrate my sanctity."
Then from the contents of her handbag,
Some one found out a stained document,
And with blood was inscribed,
"I am Miss Honesty, raped in the dark,
By the custodians of law."
I witnessed gang fights before
But not as violent as this to the core
Students from different public schools
Looking at them like mad men and fools
They carried guns, knives or even samurai
Ready to fight don’t care if they die
The rage they felt in their hearts
Are growing in their mind from the very start
They don’t care if people will get hurt
Poor parents thinking their sons are very smart
Go to school every day and study very hard
Just realized if they receive calls from the police
Their sons are in jail asking for a release
January 2013
Going home late afternoon while riding in a bus full of students that are so noisy, after 5 minutes they looked outside to see their enemy so they force themselves to go out and since I am near the door, I am so terrified for they show their weapons and run, after 2 mins I heard a gunshot..what do you think happen to them? some of the passengers inside the bus, just make faced or show no feeling at all. Even the bus driver..they just keep quite. What a terrible day. whew!!!

Armadilly Billy needed repair work on the home, as he wanted to move in.
Asking around Troll Lake Town, the answer was Leavit, again and again.
A bit confused, he needed repairs; he couldn’t leave it, like they said, therein.
So he picked up the Acme phone book, and understanding, then, did begin.
It said: Levit T. Beaver for the best woodwork, to be found, anywhere around.
The rumor was: he was once a movie star, before retiring to Troll Lake Town.
He had the scruffiest crew, Billy had ever seen, inept in absolutely, everything.
Called: The Muskrat Gang, they were tied up in chains, yes, the whole shebang.
Doing time for trying to blow up Leavit’s dam, yep, a real, live, chain gang, bound.
Tho, they were really chained up, to stop them, from aimlessly scurrying all, around.
He thought to give them purpose, before he was through, and a new profession, too.
After they tried to empty Troll Lake, to scoop out all the fish, on one crazy afternoon.
What they got was better, as Leavit tried to teach them work, with all kinds of wood.
He stopped them, and saved some mice, lost in a boat, on the lake, on that day, too.
Oddly, love blossomed between Leavit and one of the mice, her name was Mary Ann.
He was lucky in love, as the other mice decided, to rent rooms, to stay, on his island.
Though he had to admit that Gilligan, Skipper, and the other mice WERE a tad, strange.
And as for the Muskrat Gang, well, they seemed, to pretty much, stay unchanged.
After serving their time, Levit T. Beaver, offered to hire them, to help him clean up.
All their scurrying, was perfect for this, as he paid them in their most, beloved fish.
With the Chains gone, a job and home found, they discovered crime did not pay.
So my Moral, my friend, is that in the end… Crime is Never the Way!
Die Lewens gang
So dwaal ek rond in die lewens gang
sal daar weer nog potrete by kom
van vriende en geliefdes wat in die
niet verdwyn. Maar die herinepringe
sal weer trug kom waneer ons stil
raak en trug blik na tye wat verby is.
Daar loop weer 2rye spore deur my
lewe, soos in die lewens gang van
ons lewe, verskyn daar ook n potrret
van jou op my muur, en ek weet uit
eindelik is jy ook op geteken in my
lewe. My gemoed raak stil want soos
A gang of aggressive orcs
in any government works.

The Motorcycle Gang
A venue was set
Folks came from miles around
Just to hear the music & get down
The band was wailing on their guitar
A solo was underway
The brews were flowing
Suddenly the leader of the pack rolled in
It was the captain along with his faithful regime
All those Harley's on a free spirit scene
The smell of pot was everywhere what a blur
It was all sex, drugs & rock and roll
The gang circled around
A white flag was flown
There was a specific truce to part
They were running with the wolf pack
Feelings that there never coming back
Grab a lady and take her for a swing
They all carried a piece
Such rebels on the burning strip
A life on a pleasurable trip
A soul based on fun out on the run
No faith based all run on sight
No laboring for the legal tender
For that is there right
Give the finger to the fuzz
Leather pants with eyes in a trance
Eyes filled with tombstones in their head
Some have said it's the walking dead
A rap sheet that runs a mile long
Take it to the limit is there favorite song
A free will with a free bird spirit intact
They were all legends in there own right
There the sons of thunder rolling clowns in life's big circus

I was a picked on,
bullied, browbeaten, buffaloed boy
from Buffalo New York.
I grew up on Buffalo’s lower east side,
the ghetto by another name.
The Frederick Douglass towers.
Formerly the Talbert Mall
better known as the Jefferson projects.
The home turf to a gang
called the Pythons.
It was a place
where angels fear to tread.
I had so many bullies
it’s a wonder I didn't end up dead.
I had more bullies
than the law allowed.
I survived my childhood somehow.
I can count one hand
how many times
I was saved by gang members. (5)
I join a bigger gang
right after high school.
The United States Army,
and saw the world,
Germany, Turkey and Italy.
I met the man who would be
my Kung-Fu master,
three years later he had made me
a very dangerous man.
Back stateside I became
DJ Bobby K “The One to Know”
For a little over fourteen years,
I played the music
that made the difference.
All the while I heard the voices.
In the year 2,000
I took a course
in creative writing,
and Bobby K
“The Poor Man's Poet was born.”
Now when I go out to speak,
I mean to be heard,
giving voice to the spoken word.
My name in Dutch might just have a person thinking that
I reside by water, for my name means “Lake cat.”
However, I’m a bigger fan of sun and sand.
Each morning in the rays of sun I go to stand.
I get my belly warm, which makes me ready for the day.
We hunt while one of us at home with all the pups will stay.
Our young pups cannot go hunting till they have all been taught
defense against the scorpion, whose pinchers hurt a lot!
We take good care of each other though some call us a mob!
But we are not the Mafia. Your business we won’t rob.
Today, on lookout duty, I’m keeping a close eye
out for foes like eagles swooping down on us from sky.
Why do they want to kill us? We are just so small and cute.
Jackals must be jealous when we get a photo shoot!
I think that folks don’t care about a jackal’s ugly face,
but people get excited just to watch us in OUR place!
Do you guys recall a series that was quite a while ago?
It was “Meerkat Manor.” My Grandma “Flower” stole the show!

the hunger gang is at it again…
on the fields
and in the arenas,
we are their prized
gladiators:
predators and prey;
on the streets,
chilling in the hood,
we are their prized
game---
hungry prey
for the hungry
hunters:
we gladiators
must now
up our game.
