Hormones make the Endocrine System work
They’re always around, they always lurk.
And they do so many things
And to the body the blood always brings
So many chemicals all over abound
Each only binds to specific receptors found.
Sometimes they’re high, sometimes they’re low
And hormones always absolutely go
Via the blood until it finds,
Its special receptor, where it binds.
And no matter what you think you knew
There’s only five things they generally do.
Membrane potential, a hormone can alter,
And so a cell’s function will never falter.
When they alter membrane potentials we know
And that always means information will flow.
Protein synthesis, too, gets involved
And making large molecules soon gets resolved.
They can cause proteins synthesis in the cell
By turning on genes that work so well.
Enzyme modifications are also the norms
They can activate second messenger forms.
And when it does, it can certainly cause,
Enzyme activity or enzyme pause.
Secretions, too, the cell will spit out,
Due to the hormone, because of its clout.
And what is the importance of what the hormones’ issues
These cells spew out substances to affect other tissues.
Then there’s the last, reproductive in nature
Mitosis and meiosis, both important in stature.
Both types of cell division are obviously affected,
Another example of hormones, reflected.

Children play around making snowmen
There's much love joy happiness in the hearts 'cause Jesus was born.
In just a few more days
Will be Christmas, a most beautiful time
Everywhere
Christmas trees now shine.

(Fives and Threes Style)
It's a nice day and
Winter's here
The days are short and the nights are very long
There's peace and all is quiet
And all around you can almost hear the sounds of Christmas now
'Cause Christmas day is only days away
Most folks are preparing their Christmas lists and looking forward with very joyful cheer
Outside the snow like fairy dust falls on the ground
Christmas shoppers hurriedly make their way to all stores, windows displays are beautiful
Children play around making snowmen
There's much love joy happiness in the hearts 'cause Jesus was born.

I’m walking on cloud nine
My victory divine,
To the legions full of haters
And the Media’s nasty baiters,
All I say is ‘told you so’
Go ahead and all eat crow!
A new dawn has now arisen
Gone the shackles of this prison,
Euphoria’s clearly not the word
But the best of those I’ve heard
To describe my sense of glee
That I’d simply call ‘Whoopee’.
I’m the toast of this fine town
The cat’s undoubted super meow,
Handshakes everywhere galore,
High-fives and fist bumps by the score,
I’m the man of this momentous hour
Discarding doubts as to my power.

All this money gone to waste
Accusations spat in haste,
But isn’t Karma such a ,
The perfect lesson for that witch
That her loss was fair and square,
If all just won but by a hair,
If truth be told while so elated
That my victory is feted,
The greater joy this moment brings
Where my heart unbridled sings,
Is the sound of wailing voices
Bemoaning Democrat’s bad choices.
Such sore losers, slimy worms
That wriggle constantly like germs,
Feeding on lies and innuendo
With predictable crescendo,
For it to all come crashing down
Leaving me the smile, they the frown.

Crappy weather aside, ecstatic to be alive
Thankful for so many things and all that jive
The sun, the stars, the air we breathe
Rivers, mountains, and stately trees
With ear to ear grins and joyous high fives

I was asked to be a substitute teacher
For kindergarten. Wow. Sounds like a blast I think.
Sure. I’d love to, I say.
This was at 8:42 a.m.
By 9:00 I realized
Kindergarten is tough.
Tougher than teaching menopausal kangaroos.
These mighty five-and-six-year-olds were
In complete control.
Me being the way I am.
I tried to run away a couple of times.
But the ringleaders kept grabbing me
And tossing me back into the waiting
Arms of the followers.
I got as far as the water fountain once,
But pretty soon I quit struggling,
Realizing I was a cracker
Being held hostage
By an ant brigade.
Kindergarten.
Wow!
Many novice players are not aware.
When they get two fives, never split the pair.
Simple arithmetic tells them they have a ten.
The same rules apply today as they did back then.
Bettors are better off doubling down on the hand.
Get a ten or an ace, and then they can stand.
Twenty or twenty-one has a better chance against the croupier.
Players will take those kinds of hands any day.
Split the pair, and then a ten card gets them fifteen.
If they get an ace, then there’s a soft sixteen.
Against the dealer’s cards, neither hand is too keen.
That is a fundamental rule at a glance.
They will not always win, but they stand a better chance.
We all jumped in with our high fives
Slapping and popping and loving it
Then the pandemic came along
With lots of warnings
We do not care
We still meet and high five
and hug and live and love
Most fives are excited by everything
They skip and sing and dance
They twirl and whirl down the hallway
These are fives who feel loved and revered
Fives who have had rough, tough lives often walk a different pathway
Some of these fives have lost their joy; they do not play.
They are angry at life, they despise the twirlers.
Hurt and sad, dancers and singers irritate them.
When a five is a bully, hitting and hurting other students,
We teachers suspect that we know how they live
Fives who are delighted by singing and dancing
Have no idea why they are being brutalized
We cannot fix a five’s home situation.
Ninety-nine percent of the hotlines are dismissed.
We can only love and revere them while they are here.
Teaching them skills they may need to survive their life.
Giving high fives
to the giggling squalls of rain
I feel like I'm in Millionaires row
Laughing at the people
who cannot summon a smile
All I see are blueberry pies
not listening to the world's advice
If you have a hand
Give in to religious Chant
still insisting theres meaning in it
This madness is too sweet to resist
