For the contest bite sized poem by Line Gauthier
Such a wonderful city of angels
Full of dreamers and schemers
Cowards.
Posers.
You poisoned me with sweet love
Then poisoned me with anger.
A lion with an impatient roar
Slowly eating me alive.
Ever so cleverly.
I never saw it coming.
I've been devoured and feel invisible.
I look in the mirror at a stranger now.
The Gods have allowed me gentle protection
The Angels hover over me, shadows on my wall.
Safe, yet damaged and scared.
Shock.
Unhappy, bitter and vengeful.
Emotions that exploded all at once
A bomb ticking away. you ignited it and detonated me.
I love you but don't know what to do.
On my darkest Day you make me shine
Forever you will always be mine
The Twinkle in your eyes light up my soul
Your Spirit moves through my body and makes it whole
The virtue you have could change the world
I was a sleeping Volcano and you awaken me
The crust was hard and filled with lava
A hot molten rock by just the sight of you
Awoke this Volcano and Lava started to flow
Deep into the ocean seas beyond our control
The lava flowed across land with it’s crust hardening
Then penetrating the land
Once the eruption had ceased this volcano
Was fast asleep bringing peace back to the land
Once causing this land to tremble and become weak
Now brings peace and harmony to the one I speak

N/A for Contest
A star, so proudly shining in the sky
Bringing out energy into our souls
Shining brilliantly just like some hot coals
One day it breaks free, seeming to imply
Its power is refocused, with a sigh
Across the heavens the star streaks, its goals
Is to reach the water beyond the poles
Thus reaching an end where the star does fly
Streak that is left over when it passes
Almighty in its brightness and beauty
Calmly refreshes the heart, caresses
The brightest spot is the end, shown proudly
An explosion of light so bright it’s seen
For miles, significant in awe and keen
Russell Sivey
A portly old man from Spain,
Let his belt out to relieve the strain,
But his pants button exploded
Like a missile unloaded
So far that it brought down rain.
TRIMDON GRANGE EXPLOSION *
( 16 FEB 1882, DURHAM, ENGLAND )
Noo March is heor and the wind she’s cowld *
But the sixty nine sowls divvent feel it - strange
Theor noo wheor they feel nee cowld and nivver get owld
Since they gave theor sowls at Trimdon Grange.
Last month on that bad sixteenth day
Owld Widow Burnett went to church to pray
For the three fine sons she once cherished
Noo, aal too soon, they hev aal perished
In thet dusty pit the rolleyways worn’t proper wattored *
And in the Harvey Seam - a thoosand foot doon
And three miles lang - that’s aal thet mattored.
The goaves * wor filled wi’ gas and the dust wes aal around.
They winnet be gannin yem nee maor *
Nor scrannin theor supper o’ pan hagglety *
Nor hengin theor coats yon under the staor
Nor scoffin theor bait and sugary tea
Wor footbaal tyem’s gannin tiv miss the lads
Joseph, Geordie, and James and the fower Broons
We’ll nivver forgit what gyems we had
And when we skelped Hartlepool Toon *
At Durham Big Meetin as the bands made a start
And the teams showed theor best to the crood
We were cowpin wor creels in the clart *
and shootin the odds o’ Hartlepool oot lood.
Oh weel, they left hame that morning to eorn theor daily bread;
Noo theor scrannin in a place where danger is nee maor.
Sixty nine men and boys wor numbered wi the dead.
Aye, death will pay us aal a visit : they hev ownly gone befaor.

is the dialect of my own childhood, sadly now heavily overlain with standard English.

It was a cute explosion, an anomaly,
Something the press would like:
My puppy and you locked in an embrace
On your bike.
But my fame as a poet had grown too much,
We weren’t rhyming anymore, you and me:
I blamed our hormones; you, you blamed my
Obsession with death and alliteration
And like a million others, I wondered;
Who gets the puppy?
I felt a small tremble below
And knelt on the floor ‘cuz I know
Something wasn’t right out of class
And a second much bigger blast
Left crumbs of glass from a window
Who is aware I can follow
Into the sun, I mean shadow
A family of grades amass
Breathtaking view
A mushroom cloud did overflow
And blanketed the afterglow
From the effects of the jet gas
That took the freedom to trespass
Instantly my school was bulldozed
Breathtaking view

5 Words Contest
My 5 words are: WHO WASN'T EFFECTS
BREATHTAKING FAMILY
Its so hard to keep my mind off you
Every poem, every thought, its all dedicated to you
I'm so lost, this feeling has been here too long
To want you and not have you, the stress weighs a ton
Your smile brings me to a happy place
The image of happiness, and your limitless grace
Your lips so soft i long for a taste
You're like a drug with a most dangerous lace
When you laugh my heart skips a beat
My mind plays over and over that musical treat
Plain and simple i want you so bad
These emotions inside are driving me mad
Eyes twinkle like the stars at night
Hypnotizing pearls that influence me without a fight
Everything about you, your body and your brain
Extremely intelligent lady driving me insane
The Queen above Queens and the lust of my eyes
Just the sweet smell of you keeps making me high
Athletic body dressed with such class
I crave your voice, i want to make you laugh
Radio on blast your in every song
Sweet lady be mine, you'll never be alone
Treat you like a princess and fulfill all your dreams
Forget everyone else, its just you and me
Most important part of my life
If i got the chance i would make you my wife
Put a ring on your finger and claim you as mine
Love you now and for all of time
Relax
close your eyes
and lay back
Open your pleading
salivating lips
While I drip
melted chocolate
from a warm spoon
from my teasing finger tips.
Smell the aroma
your senses ignite
for the guilty pleasure
your will can no longer
fight.
Savour the smooth creamy texture
swirl and roll over your delighted tongue
Soothing your cares away
lost in the moment
your taste buds lavishly excited
in the endorphins throng.
Pleasure divine
on which to dine.

LONDON TUBE EXPLOSION 2017
Another explosion in London today
When will they learn to go away?
General public hurt yet again
These terrorists are a real big pain
Setting off a device in a public place
You’re no member of the human race
Hurting people doing their daily chores
You certainly won’t get any applause
I hope all those hurt are on the mend
To these people this message we send
Don’t let them change your daily routine
Report to the police anything you have seen
I send my thoughts to you all
Hope your families and friends can stand tall
Hope you’re all healing and getting well
These nasty people will be sent to hell
Islamic state have claimed it’s their doing
What they need is a real good shoeing
No matter what you want to achieve
Your act of violence I can’t believe
We will catch you and you will be sent to rot
In a 6 foot cell you will wish you were shot
Go back under the rock whence you came
Your spiteful acts they are evil and insane
a rainbow shatters
and scatters laughter and tears
splatters on pages
