Playing the Fiddle

Riding off into the Ivory Palace sunset,
in a pitch-black limousine, no less

Hear the heavy metallic chariot roar,
leaving exacerbated fumes echo deplored

Aural palette, enamel pestilent pain
on burnt crimson background grain

Scorching prairie brush fire
was the cruel comfort desire

It’s aghast portrait in pandemic grief,
pyramid scheme exit of paucity relief

The curtain call, pulmonary rating king
is a modern-day Nero

His favorite numbers (violin strumming)
are the printed zeroes

Fashioning a Fourth Reich,
naked emperor be blew Lenin unsound

Ballot dropping the psych,
bosom burning the divided house down

With a teary grift posturing diddle,
Amerikan Nero is playing the fiddle

Rearview rolling one last Rublecon riddle,
carny Fahrenheit was the plucking piddle

Crumbling democracy
was brimstone seen through the smoke

Ash trail of hypocrisy
left an urn nation crematorium stoked

Premium Member Angels On Your Shoulders

Stare all over, O World, you scarcely utter.
Bear stalwart angels to arise over the air tugger.
Odoriferous water may abscond the realm of prosily.
Such as the Goddess of Heaven perpetrates an odyssey,

Please, Lord, I pray you are aware of my plea heed.
The blunder I committed thwarts a significant need.
My wickedness is crucial to fade as it's such a bigwig.
I aspire that everyone will stay ready for the callow sprig.

My trudge to the palatial gateway has formally begun.
I'm embedded in the exacerbated curse greaten.
We embody no faith in eliciting heavenly mercy.
And will do it as soon as I can from a gallows tree.

My mighty task was a cipher accredited to splendor.
Plus, the angels yielded me their smoldering ember.
They allotted me munificently for their rare care, too.
Failed my mystical prowess to beckon them, they mellow.

Below kaleidoscopic bulwarks or in a raving creek,
In bosom nirvana, we withdrew the draughty bleak.
I earned a lasting bliss than one could dream.
And I willingly sieve to share my peaceful stream.

The Blue Planet

THE BLUE PLANET
by
JOHN M. ARRIBAS

This beautiful blue planet that we call earth
No one really can confirm its origin or birth
Some declare it was shaped by a powerful being
Others state the result of a cosmic unveiling
It just seems to be a tiny body in limitless space
With the right conditions to beget the human race

Orbiting at the right distance from a giant star
Allowing flora and fauna to propel exemplar
Giant creatures once roamed the face of the earth
But a cataclysmic event caused their dearth
Doom for the giants was a boon for the small
Leaving crevices and oceans learning to crawl

And so after millions of years we arrive at now
We’ve nearly conquered the why and almost how
Yet we still have questions that surely remain
Is there a will to cease our destructive reign
The Danube was once blue now a brownish pink
The elusive snow leopard is nearly extinct

Most lakes, rivers and even the smallest rill
Are polluted with toxins and chemical spill
Fish caught in streams and canals are taboo
Not to be eaten too much mercury in them for you
Drinking water once availed from natural sources
Are now mostly dependent on commercial choices

The rainforests of Micronesia and the amazon
Sadly, in a hundred years they will all be gone
These sources of oxygen and absorbers of co 2
So essential in sustaining the me and the you
The trends are apocalyptic needing repress
Difficult decisions and actions may render success

Problems are exacerbated by human concentrations
Rapidly expanding and demanding, teeming populations
As resources erode and demand constantly increases
Harbingers of the agonies awaiting the human species
The answers are clear but politically unheard
Populations need reductions, a thinning of the herd

True Friendship

The true meaning of friendship ,
                                          use to come.
when we would have fenced with
                exacerbated adverse some.
That time we thought,
a partner, fellow to be within life.
The time friend comes forward ,
make friend freed from adverse type.
     Paradigm of which,
                            is only true friendship.
     Maintain position,
                 above all bloody relationship.

The Zany Zoo

The awakening of the dawn like a butterfly busting through the cocoon.
The rhino's thyroid condition was exacerbated as the cheetah conflict
continued.
As I drank in and tasted the coolness of the water,
my eyes gazed upon the crocodile's welcoming smile,
the caption was split apart by the hyena's maniacal laughter,
As I breathed in the heinous adventure,
man what I would do for a cliff bar!
Billy Roberts from Germantown Pennsylvania, you are the planner of my trips
no longer.
I'm immersed in the baboon conflict much,
Cheetah's are too anxious and scared'
those crazy colored monkeys,
Always be constantly straight trippin,
I suppose its time to go snatch up a snow cone,
At least then i'll be heated up,
Suppose I'll meander down yonder over in the holler,
the Zoo will be closing soon,
Why is this peacock making a bead-line for me?
Get hence from me you beastly bird!
You Great White, who's sensed the blood in the water,
the kids are all laughing at me,
As I hang clumsily from this tree,
Screaming shrill and hoarsely for someone to come and save me,
I enmesh myself and become one with the tree,
Ya that's right devil-bird! walk away!
that's why they call me lizard lips,
I can hide from anything,
Wednesday will be my greatest day,
because it begins in W and ends in Y,
As I take in a deep relaxed breath and pinch my leg until my eyes begin to
adjust again,
The Bronx Zoo is no bueno,
Asta la Vista you toothy baboons

Collaborative Chinese water torture
Dropping fickle whispers

Their foreheads pound with belittled grief.

Egyptian cotton tissues,
Coated in fresh aloe and waxy resolutions,
Torn asunder

Idyllic sonatas
Heaving identity crisis under bus,
One

Off

An exacerbated syllable
Pleasing vultures
Who speak louder than anonymity’s slur

Befuddled visions
Damning clarity upon equator of serenity

Stalking Information Superhighways,
A glorified game of telephone

Where declared verbiage,
Set in Swedish Hot Stones,
Is STILL misunderstood!

Filtered!

Tainted!

Stoking ill-advised dreams
Stroking tact with leavened paper cuts

S	h	r	e	d	d	i	n	g
yesterdays

Whiplashes against horizons’ symphonies
Choking lyric of March
These hands showed you epiphany lights
Now 2nd face, abandons restitution in onyx dark

…

With their one last cry,
One

Spoken Cry

“Instead of reading our words,
My child,
You should simply open your eyes.”

Inferiority Complex

Although yours truly modest,
     the only personal issue
     I will lightly boast about
constitutes lingering
self worthlessness bred
if not prior to first grade,
     than most definitely incipient,
academic deadlines

loomed large with dread
and exacerbated by procrastination
     quickly adopted as linchpin
damned obsessive compulsive
currents (i.e. thoughts) fed
modus operandi, which intricate
schema writ over lifetime invisible
within this talking head

who ironically enough
never uttered a beep
engendered from lack
     of confidence, esteem,
     somehow worthlessness,
     insignificance,
     emasculation, et cetera
took root, and didst leap

(axon to neuron)
and said mindset did seep
percolating into every nook,
     and cranny comprising
     aging shades, transformed
gray matter, sans this
beatle browed bummer, a deep
purple, though easily mistaken

for minuscule Uriah Heap,
or perhaps, ewe might notice,
(albeit while in a sheep
push disposition) similarities
between mine fist
sized thinker, and another creep
pee totally tubular Charles Dickens
     character, or maybe

     even a commercial
     for nano bot sized jeep
grand Cherokee keep
up a moderate clip despite,
and/or because I
oft times feel a light
buzz sensation within me quite
average gummed up noggin

     jammed numb skull,
     (essentially barren aged
     teenage wasteland recently
undergoing gentrification),
(yeah how really) excite
ting, a no brainer fright
fully glommed with peevish
gobbledygook plus worthless,

obsolete, and crammed academic right
hand busily twiddling, scribbling,
     and sloppily drafting
     error riddled assignments
deliberately failing heavily
marked with bright
colors adding oomph
to mental blight

punctuated by
     attaining puny height
(...oh, about seventy inches),
     nonetheless, my slight
physique and mute quiet
     as a mouse, I might
as well hove been a stand in
     for Charlie Brown right

down to the tree eating kite
good grief - never an ending fight
with Lucy, hence now this knight
in rusty armor forever
     disparaged his might
and attests to
     20/20 hind sight!

Sister Satire

I can't help but feel idol.

The roles that I am offered are recycled.

My inhibitions are exacerbated by "tradition".

The chains have evolved into metaphors and weapons turned into words

Blame is only pointed at the 2nd and the 3rd...point of view.

You're rich but you dont know the point of YOU?

Are these the people that our children look up to?

Now in my mind, I redefine the very things that shame me.

Slurs and other stereotypes...they try to taint me.

They judge anothers life style as if they were a saint, see?

...Satire, sister Satire? Cures them with a reflection!

My rent-a-friend held my vindicated words in 1 condescending song,
An exacerbated flick of her tongue, in the power of 2

They latched onto the breathlessness of 3 escaping dolphins
As they beg for release unto 4 virgin soliloquies

5 wishes for the return of my rent-a-friend
Because they left without leaving 6 comments on my vulnerable bloodstain.

So, I wrote them off like 7 hidden tax burdens.

I let their door hit me 8 ways to Moscow on the way out
But, I felt fine for 9 minutes.

10 lords-a-leaping off their encrypted facade

Their kiss did not bring me to the power of 11
Like it did 12 seconds ago

Friday the 13th was our anniversary,
Another name for February 14th

“15 ways to be a good pal”, declares social media
Until they judge with 16 lashes, when perspectives fail

17 prayers to a god that didn’t rank highly on Wikipedia,
I’m the 18th rejected apostle whose horn was snatched by cashmere heathens

19 breaths to reach for better days.

20 was the max.

Premium Member The Smile of Uriah Heep

Agnes:

Oh, what a smile Uriah Heep!
It makes me feel so vile and cheap
You’re planning Papa’s soon demise
An evil light shines in your eyes

You smile a sheepish little grin
Usurping is your grievous sin
My father is under your spell
But I know you are straight from hell

I shan’t marry you, no not I
If you must know the reason why
Your fiendish smile I can’t abide
It makes me want to run and hide

One day t’will be that I shall smile
A smile that will be so worthwhile
For you’ll be gone, without a trace
No ghastly grin upon your face

Another’s smile my eyes will greet
His lips will bring me kisses sweet
His love will be my endless song
Go to the night, where you belong!

Uriah Heep is a creepy character who is one of the antagonists in Charles Dickens novel, David Copperfield. He is working for David’s friend, Mr. Wickfield. He uses Mr. Wickfield’s love for drink that is exacerbated by the death of his wife, to confuse Mr Wickfield and blackmail him into signing him as a partner of the business. His ultimate goal is to marry Agnes, Mr Wickfield’s daughter. David Copperfield takes an instant dislike to Uriah when he meets him. This poem is written in the voice of Agnes, who eventually marries David Copperfield.

Its inner self, deep dark hole of a maze,
Sad stretch of dire and apathetic doom,
Exacerbated when outlasts a phase,
Giving the tunnel end’s lighting no room.

The steel shackles along its iron grip
Without a shame restraint the weary mind,
Stricken under merciless lashing whip -
In solitude, disabled and confined.

To silence this depressing demon’s voice -
To attack from all fronts and from within,
Forfeiting the battle is not a choice,
Only one way to rise above - to win!

Run

Sweat broke my line of vision,
I couldn't see clearly, these demons were coming down hard,
Each blow shattering the little resistance I held onto,
Mercy wasn't a mantra these Gods acknowledged nor uttered,
Bruised lips and broken fingernails scattered like confetti across these pavements,
These pavements I called home,
Never wander to close to the edge, they always told me,
But I wanted to see what lay beyond the roaring wind,
What beast made this plateau of cowardice tremble with each breath,
So I leapt over the precipice of doubt and landed smack hard on the concreate,
Gravity spared me no mercy, she dragged me down,
Crushed the living daylights out of me,
Broken bones and gaping sinew reached out to the bluest skies,
Thanking the Gods for setting them free,
What little strength I had, I tried moving but the pain was too much,
My soul winced with every thump of my imploding heart,
The shadows started enveloping my eyes, each darkened light,
Gourging my eyes out, I couldn't see. I was blinded by this... fear.
The scream that escaped my lips wasn't human,
It was a sound of a thousand demons tearing a mans soul apart,
Devouring his flesh, ripping his mushed heart to a pulp,
And quitening what little strength he still had left,
Roaring cries of mutilated grief engulfed my hearing,
The last breath I ever took was filled with the stench of my own blood and faeces,
The last sound I ever heard was the flapping of wings and the maniacal laughter of the beast,
If I still had my vision, I'd see that this was all in my head,
That all was an illusion nothing more than simple surgery exacerbated by the anaesthesia.
