CHRYSALIS

Sitting in silent reverence
I gaze upward towards your galaxy...
The endless canopy stretched out
Before all eyes...
An infinite splendor of
Light, energy, portals, stars
Mysterious unknown spaces

Silent notes fill my soul
Playing my heartstrings
Reminding me of ancient memories
Memories of...
Our journey together

Inside the chrysalis
I embrace you...
Growing together
Intertwined in color and form and design
We breathe as one
We expand and sprout into life
Preparing to fly

Birthing at the same moment
I reach my moist orange wing
Out into the calling air
As my outer shell falls away
Your wings move slowly
Drying in the breeze

Twins we are
Twin butterflies embarking on
Our journey upward
Rising and turning we ride
The warm air funnels
In joy and delight
We laugh in our own language
As moondust beckons us further

We melt into darkness
In an instant light is eclipsed
I can only see the glow
Of your eyes
Color is absent

Glow...Glitter...Reflection...Shine
Orbs of light and time above us
Blue Black transparent silk
With a million pinholes of light
Shining through

A nod to the Creator
How grand you are
How magnificent
Everything as it is...
Perfect intention and magnitude
With alignment of essence

To swim in the stars
To dive into the Milky Way
To ride a comet until its
Last breath of light dies

There is no greater gift
My heart sings and rejoices
For the consciousness of
This moment in time

Looking down on Mother Earth
I see her and I love her
I see her Creator hold her gently
Glittering webs of tears and light
Connect us

Galaxy and stars and earth...
We pulse together
We exhale together
We bleed together
We are one

there’s something so endearing
about a late fall sun
so mellow so sultry

a warm toasty glow that lingers
and penetrates your skin
reaching through to the bone
your body craving it

moments so rare
you want to treasure
and stretch out

knowing how few and precious
those last rays really are
before the clouds and snow

winter will be long
and the cold disheartening
so soak up the energy...

of that october sun
let it kiss your cheeks
slowly utter its last goodbyes

Premium Member Nature Heals

How blue the sparkling water brightly shone!
Stream depths of clarity held my stunned eyes.
I felt my smile grow full and skimmed some stones
while sun rays lent light ribbons to my tries.

The shoreline mixed rocks, clover, sticks and dirt
before it faded to soft, velvet grass
and endless trees grown full limbed, tall and pert.
While reaping all, I saw a jumping bass.

I loved how energy there loved me back.
Just nature gives such boundless lifts to me.
Her highs keep my esteem on healthy track
to heal since heartbreak thoroughly took me.

In earth's scenes nature aids all pain did hone.
How blue the sparkling water brightly shone!

Share Love and Light With a Vibrant Energy

I have just reached the end of the school year
giving my last lesson to the last group, as it were
Unlike before, not quite content with what has been done
on whom would I put the blame in the long run?!
Apart from the human factor, we have Covid-nineteen
and under my wings students at the age of a teen
To teach a youth, you need understanding.. patience and time
how would I make it, as students study part-time?!
Day on, day off.. that’s the school year for them so far
how to ensure the development of the learners’ repertoire?!
Hard I strived to hide the leak of confusion on my face
as it was puzzling to recognize my students with a mask on each face!
I spare you the trouble of an everyday struggle with every task
as my students and I are sweating under a suffocating mask!
Just envision me teaching the phonetic symbols and every problem sound
without accurately mouthing utterances and hearing a clear sound!
“Group 1 or 2?” Would you please your teacher remind?
that’s of paramount importance than any other task assigned!
A quick look at my notebook to check what is written down
so that I would be in the know after each two-week lockdown!
To God’s countless blessings I am grateful so much
though guilty with the feeling of not being able to do much
Still facing the dangers of the pandemic and its many a wave
and need not just get Covid-19 vaccine but also be brave
Possess a valiant heart, share Love and Light with a vibrant energy
have faith in God, in human nature beauty and in the “call of poetry”!

Spring will forever be the time for renewals when brisk fresh air invigorates our drowsy muse. Tickling every inner child, beckoning them to come out for a playdate. And ever so gleefully we crack open the treasure chest of possibilities, dust it off to see what gems we can uncover.

                                                                             dawn of

Do I Cast An Aura of Dark Energy

Written with admiration for Tom Cunningham ~ a gentle poet
maligned by one who really casts an aura of darkness

My smile is genuine and reaches to my eyes.
I do not wear a mask, nor a cloak of disguise
and I post poetry in my given Christian name.
From the hand of one it was written in a claim
that I cast shadows of dark energy around me.
Should I assume that I'm thought of as beastly?

Someone thinks that my spirit has gone awry.
I have to shake my head in disbelief as I decry,
"If you liken me to a sinister, malevolent being
I would ask what movies have you been seeing?"
Call me rude names if that makes you feel witty,
but each shines a gleaming light on your lubricity.

I'm not insulted by the sticks and stones thrown,
nor do I write anything that I would ever bemoan.
I will champion myself, my friends and my nation,
never seeking battle, nor in fear of confrontation.
I am not a troll, a gang member, or wolf in a pack,
so don't falsely accuse me. I won't take your flack.

There is no darkness surrounding my aura, I'm sure.
It may be that your malicious thoughts are impure.
You struggle with defining what's right from wrong.
Is there anyone with whom you can get along?
Friendships are important and you would be wise
to recall that poets should be a coalition of allies.

You're entitled to your opinions, and I am to mine,
but if they are different, don't moo like a bovine.
"Spiteful words," you said, my friends and I write.
Well, in this case I'll say you're absolutely right.
I've been told that rebuttals are a waste of my ink
but not a drop is wasted if it makes people think.

Think of the insult to a poet belittled by another.
One who treats everyone as a sister and brother.
Tom wrote of the bloodbath Putin draws in Ukraine
then selfish comments were made that left a stain
on his words that were written to ring out in truth.
Don't sling mud on other poet's by throwing a stone.
Give voice to your beliefs. Write one of your own.

And now, you're thinking, "You just slung mud."
Yes, I did, in hopes that it will land with a thud.
I don't relish penning negative lines of contention,
but sometimes things are in need of attention.
I'd rather write about Santa and Christmas cheer,
than calling out snide people who taunt and jeer.

Premium Member No Purpose Pulses

My flesh is flush with inadequacy each day
for no purpose pulses inspiration my way

No motivation shows to validate
that my energy even palpitates -
I am a daytime deficiency breathing.
All things seem possible before I sleep
then night’s energy sun fades into lethargy:
I rise to flounder, flail and fail to move so never do I see the
me that my prayers and hopes wish new days would promote.
Has karma woven my desires revoked
or am I now a bad aging type of joke?
I cannot grope life’s enthusiasm
nor can I fathom what has happened,
but I am sad that my self-esteem’s armor
has been pierced by darkness infused drama …

home clocks loud mock me
as moments find me unchanged
just aged within ticks
tocking my stopped impetus
in passion’s puddled blandness

Premium Member Ancient Ones

Come to me O Ancient Ones
For I have missed you
Your presence fills me with
Light and joy

I hear you calling me in the night
Tendrils whispered
On the winds of time

I receive you with grace and humbleness
In awe of your spirit
Your keen glance says everything to me

I see into you...
All that you have been
Lifetimes of pain, evolution and
Ascension beckon me
Your winged form welcomes me
Carrying shamanic wisdom from realms revealed

Returning to carry me inward
To unimagined beauty
Towards the soul we all carry within us
That seeds, soothes and feeds
Our spirits

Your gifts unfold as I journey
To purple misty valleys
Surrounded with living mountains
Adorned with ancient relics

I am gifted with your knowledge
Of all things past
Being reborn in the now
Thank you for allowing me
To know what it means
To be truly human

Scars of woven life grace my body
My depth of consciousness is a gift
That allows me
To see the beauty in others
I reach my hands out to you .. all of you
Humans, animals, plants, and energy
To kiss you with my fingertips

For we are one
Energies of light stitched together
In such intricate grace
Gold cellular magnificence
Diamond heart beats that glisten on wave tips
Salty spray
Eyelashes dotted with sunrays

We are united in our humanness
Kissed by the goddess of the wind
Always and forever
In gratitude for this moment in time

Love's Frenetic Energy

Love's frenetic energy

Ensnared by love's frenetic energy
Heart strings strumming to a Calypso beat
We move with syncopated synergy
passions swells rising from two lips in heat

Premium Member Angels Are Energy

Angels are really beautiful things;
seven to ten foot tall beings.
While the human soul is spherical,
Angels have a human shape, and work miracles.

They do seem to have wings;
they’re heat wave looking things;
arising from their shoulders,
as a fire, appears to smolder!

They emanate such strong light;
no face you’ll see, their glow’s too bright.
If you hear them sing, then sing along;
you’ll really be amazed by Angel-song.

Miraculous Angels possess voices of liquid gold;
once you see one it’s like a miracle tenfold!

lesson six

some days i’ll be up ready to go
and i’ll have a productive day
sometimes it won’t be so
i shouldn’t be hard on myself
go with the flow
life’s a roller coaster
it’s natural to feel low
and to be expected

when i look around my studio
sometimes i’ll have it all together
and agree to put on a show
other times i may feel
like i’m overcome with woe
i’ll have to ride it out
life’s one big rodeo
roll with the punches
go with the flow
always remember to
follow your rainbow

We Are Energy

We are pure energy,
drawn from the stars—
adrift in a vacuum halfway
between sun and Mars.

Is our existence
the product of chance—
or the musings of gods
who create with a glance?

Scheming with purpose,
they sculpt nascent ooze—
to grant agency's gift:
the freedom to choose.

We travel through time
and grow old in this place.
And ponder the void
that permeates space.

With power to ascend;
yet ignoble of mind.
And to matters of goodness,
we've gone totally blind.

We stand at a crossroad
of virtue and lust.
So to spread wings of valor,
or return to the dust?

Premium Member Never Show Any Fear

There are treacherous things that hide in the dark;
Biding time until an innocent walks by.
Things that are evil and so very bored;
Their existence can’t be denied.

Lying in wait to test your faith;
They love playing with human minds.
Playing on fears and your self doubt;
To you they may themselves, be blind.

Stand strong and true; showing no fear;
It’s a battle that you can win.
They’ll surely depart; keep faith in your heart and
Their abuse will certainly end.

Faith and love are things they hate;
use them well and the dark will abate.

Premium Member Driven

i hear the ticking of the clock
it's in my head and in my heart
the pulse of life doubtlessly finite
so many things i want to do

the tic toc getting louder
it echoes in my brain
rummaging through images and dreams
while time rings evermore elusive

i get up in the morning determined
with a yearning to break free
driven to spark the momentum
for the many things i want to do
