Premium Member All You Need Is Cheese

The humble cheese has a secret superpower
Its gooey glory conquers cauliflower
The melted cheddar of fried baloney
The better half of macaroni

The sharp-dressed suitor of apple pie
A fondue tryst with crusty rye
The love child of curds and whey
Eloped with pillow soft souffle

This Muenster does not pursue peasants
The tang of blue can be quite pleasant
Smoked Gouda's so good, seconds I'll take
While leaving room for more cheesecake-

My foodie knowledge was remiss
Thinking all foreign cheese was Swiss!
Don't fret, American, your place is true
What would tomato soup be, without you?

I live in the Northwest, where I can cook
with the best cheese brand of all - Tillamook!

Premium Member Our Peach

In a moment of magic I once gave her a juicy innocent peach

Not yet knowing that she harboured a sweet nascent dream

In which as a youngster she knew that she would marry the one

Who handed such a fleshy gift to the gypsy Queen of Fairy Land

Bestowed upon her by night’s prophesy she carried the vision of

Requited love and blissful peace brought by subconscious longing

And spiritual clarity of a Higher Power submerged in compassion

A passionate fruit with soft skin and one huge seed of togetherness

We eloped together into a new dawn

The doomsayers had a field day as they harvested bitter doubts

‘It will only last a couple of months and the peach will turn rotten’

‘You cannot feed on clairvoyant oracles and meek pagan beliefs’

‘They are deluded insane and caught up in misguided romance’

They called her a witch a seductress and labelled me irresponsible

With so much at stake painted pictures of broomsticks and failure

While we had found the jewel in a haystack without even searching

And set fire to the past as we danced naked around a fire of passion

We knew the truth of intuitive feeling

One can never be sure what lies at the end of paths never taken

Whether road blocks and diversions belittle emotions and faith

But they who ignore heavenly signs forfeit adventure and truth

Stay stuck in spent time and hail its dubious comfort at their peril

We travelled and found a small hut on the beach out of sight

Collected starfish and driftwood and caressed wounded souls

Carved wedding bands out of sea shells and called upon dolphins

To witness our marriage surfing along happily ever since then

		A cormorant applauded the feast

Under a star studded canopy on the miraculous shore of belonging

We never strayed from what intuition and feelings offered for free

Meandered on the shoreline and set our sails into a magical ocean

Tasted the salt of a mindful earth and soothed our recovering minds

Never questioned the wisdom of our union shared by hungry souls

Treasure pleasure and joy weathered powerful storms and all tides

The cosmos donates all we ever need once we are willing to navigate

Waves and effervescence sparkling desire and in our case a peach

		Leading the universal way

Wedding Anniversary

Hey my Sparkling light from heaven of blue sky,
Marrying You,None of the path in life is empty without Your love!!
You are the dawn turning my night into day,
Nature residing in You is the god's gifted creativity,
Life is been delighted with wonders and joy's being with You!!

Hey my Weatherbeater, with You everyday rise with the Upstream and
vanish my worries,
You are Staggering force of water with whom I wave!!
You are the Iconic Prism of my life deviating a beam of romantic ness all
around,
Stopping by life's biggest question you were the one who took my
       breath away!!
You are the like the Seaboard bracing the sand and getting dissolved in
passion of Love,
Hey my Jewel casket, I feel secured in your sheathe!!
You are the one who always glimmer amongst all the planet,
Yes Your Lovely smile stucked between paired lips always pleased me
absolutely in its own way!!

Fabulously enduranced my soul,
       Artfully You committed!!
Wanna fleet admirally along with You,
Hey my prismatic light, being with You spectral colours bloomed in my
       Life with Your refraction!!
Something apparently sensed , something made us connected,
Something arised our feelings, something exchanged our emotions!!
Something made us hear the faint phantom bells from the heart,
Yes Your Stupefyingly impressive attitude, integrated
       orientation,Extravert disposition connected me!!

Blissfully You call me as darling, addressing me as Your Life partner I really
felt blessed,
Conjuring togetherness had made our life magically beautiful!!
Wooing with You, days is passing amorously graceful,
Hey Colorful palette, Every shade in You made me feel stimulated!!
You ignited fire in me, Aroused craziness to its height,
Setting sun kindled the sky with red and orange ,likewise You spread
the flames of love drived in every route!!
Tying the knot, we eloped away.. created wonders everywhere!!

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Misery Begins At Forty

I was a man, a cold blooded drunk, as they come.
I lived my whole life in a little house on my dad’s farm.
A broke hustler with a defunct bank account,
My career's future was always in doubt.
I married late, at the start of my forties.
It was not for love, I just wanted society to notice.
I did it to save myself from the embarrassment,
So she was not exactly for me heaven sent.
If I thought I was unhappy before, I was miserable now.
I my search for stability I had eloped with a cow.
I had to drink more, to feel like a man again.
Had to play deaf and mute, not to go insane.
As the years passed, the cow bore me a calf
By now I was weak and my income had reduced to half
The bottle was killing me, but it was Still my only friend.
To hold my hand and kiss me, everyday till the end.
The bottle was all i had, to wash away my sorrow
I had to have it, whether i should beg, steal or borrow
The meaning of life had now escaped my grasp.
All I did was sit, drink and watch time elapse.
Misery matured to sickness and still the years went by.
I shed no tears but within me there was a silent cry.
That of an old man whose whole life had been a lie
Pleasure is only found in the sweet wine a youngster sips.
For death hangs around the bed, every time an old man sleeps.
No amount of slumber nor sweet dreams can sooth,
When the heavy hand of time strikes away youth.
The dagger of illness and age was soon on my throat
I who called my wife "cow" was almost a slaughtered goat.
The reflection of my old face was unbearable on the mirror.
I looked haggard and horrible, i looked like a killer.
The cow and the calf left me to seek better pasture.
I was now all alone, expect for the bottle and my pastor
He visited often to preach me the holy word.
He warned me of hell, i assured him, that i have already had
He gave up, went his way as death came mine.
No regret, no redemption and no cloud nine
There was no glitter, there was no glory
I was bitter, and that was the end of my story.

Premium Member Sock Monster

In the land of laundry, I search high and low,
for missing socks - wondering where do they go?
Each morning, I search for a matching pair,
but they seem to have disappeared into thin air.

They were together in my washing machine,
I set the right temperature for them to clean.
I saw how they frolicked in soapy delight,
then placed them in the dryer to warm their wet plight.

Perhaps they eloped on a wild escapade,
or is there a sock monster renegade?
Stealing mismatched socks to make you vexed,
such a dilemma leaves the mind perplexed.

Does the sock monster consume them for dinner?
Or are they traded as a money spinner?
Or maybe they're hiding in some secret lair,
giggling at me with a mischievous glare.

Maybe to them it's just a humorous game,
but wearing odd socks can cause bullying shame.
The main issue though, that always irritates,
is new socks mean my bank balance deflates.

I've looked everywhere, beneath every chair,
but those sneaky socks don't care my feet are bare.
They vanish like ghosts in the hush of the night,
leaving me confused from this sockless spite.

So here I sit with a solitary sock,
feeling defeated, dazed from the after shock.
Thinking it's a relief, that I don't wear frocks
and I should protect my drawers with padlocks!!!

Tree

"this poem is not about what is written,
but what is not written. . . "

Firmly rooted, I stand in this desert of nothingness
Facing your wrath and warmth with equal willingness

Life around me moves ahead, passes me by
Scorpions, birds and occasionally a butterfly

You gave me all the power to bear fruit, nurture and shade
Yet my entire life passes standing stoically in one place

The wind nudges me, taunts me as it blows
I still stand there unmoved, head shamefully bowed

The leaves that greened with me too flew away
Eloped with the breeze in autumn, left me betrayed

The fruits that I had worked hard to bear
The flowers that graced my wavy hair

With time, these too were snatched away from me,
No reason why I still stand barren and empty.

My bark reverberates with the melancholy of my soul
Waiting for lightning to wield its shining sword.

Premium Member It's Hard To Get Help These Days

My lawyer's a liar
  my doctor's a quack
As for my dentist
  I'll never go back

My accountant's a fop
  my maid is a crook
I'll never replace the
  jewelry she took

My lawn guy is lame
  and the mailman's a dame
My favorite restaurant just closed
no more fries with tree toads

It's hard to get help these days
  You just can't trust folks
with rings in their nose
  when they're not snortin' coke

I guess I've no choice
I'll do things all by myself
'Cos when my wife heard my plan
  she eloped with our elf

Black Sheep

Her beleaguered parents, had it
with her.
That daughter and her mouth,
forever causing a mighty stir!
They went to downtown
Chicago,
To see Dr.Zhivago, hoping this
might quiet her.
But no, in their daughter, it was
more like an intellectual stir.

She stopped going to Mass
and left the Catholic Church.
Her Father weeping, he was
far more than hurt.
That spunky young woman
dropped out of college.
Then, in the dead of winter,
eloped to the West Coast in a
Midwest blizzard, she happily
left, without their knowledge.

Yes, she became part of the
50's Beat Generation.
And the "Tune In, Drop Out of
Work Nation."
Both parents, several years
later at a total loss, when she
sported a huge peace symbol!
And an Indian headband,such
a zany daughter, looking always
for a new struggle?

She finally settled down, moving
to the West Coast.
Where they found out, she was
having far more fun than most.
They wanted her back in the
boring Midwest!
Alas, she had fallen in love with
the gods of individuality and
wildness.

The Black Sheep found ultimate
happiness you see, in being
beholden to no one.
She, the Black Sheep, found her
home, heart, life and her love,
most assuredly!
Under the glorious, amber lights
of the Golden Gate Bridge on the
wings of a sea gull!
She, in her free and glorious state,
baptized him....poetry!

Defeating the Brutality

Defeating the Brutality

In a civilized world where people,
Even share the grief of their enemies
And write Poems and Songs
When they are in pains and
Are surrounded by sorrowful happenings.

The soldiers of Pakistan army
Have beheaded the Indian soldiers
In disguise and have eloped
In the darkness of cowardice.

What a bravery they have shown
Making a mockery of Geneva Convention
As, such human aspects
Have no meaning for such an army
Which believes in brutal killings only.

My nation is shocked and
The world is bewildered
To see this brutal act of cowardice
But those who have done this
Barbaric act
Are laughing in their dark chambers
As they believe in
Barbaric cruelty and
A denial of such acts
As not accepting a things
Is the best remedy
To befool the world.

Premium Member Like a Lark

My lady has a passion like a lark
Her burning heart is made from a small spark
Immortality strikes what’s never lame
She’s never burnt by the eternal flame

My lover holds some joy here before me
In a sentiment unlike what we see
There’s solid power through her perfect skies
Opening amazement inside her eyes

Her love boils to the surface with bubbles
She plays a soft harp which in turn doubles
Secretly time has eloped through to her
A desire that’s unlike any other

A myriad purchased by her tenderness
Countless touches into my awareness

Spring Surprise

There once was a girl named Bo
Her dad did not like her beau
So one day they eloped
But Bo’s dad dashed their hope
He sprang from behind with bolo.

Premium Member Be Mine, O Fairest Juliet

Wherefore gazest thee from yon balcony,
O fairest Juliet? Searchest thou for one
that loveth thee 'neath heaven's brazen sun,
that son of Montague—'tis felony!?

Thou lovest him? Ah! but loveth he thee?
'Ere long thy love for him wilt be undone
by poison and—alas!—thou wilt be gone
and we shalt grieve—both Houses!—yea, all we

and Montague! I beg of thee—instead
be mine? For I'm thy kinsman, Capulet!
Be mine! And like that Romeo fore-said,
I'll worship thee as divine; and forget
that thy wayward heart near left me for dead
whilst thou eloped with him, mine Juliet.

A Silly Mistake

Jane's dad was a man of hauteur,
He employed a guard for his daughter.
But that bloke was her dream,
She eloped with him,
Her father didn't know this suitor!

Premium Member Across the Universe

Across The Universe

Life’s tapestry had brought me from the rugged Welsh Coast
to ‘Egoli’ The City Of Gold’ a place of dreams in South Africa

I wished for so much and so little just heal from the weight
of black dogs on my shoulders and a soldiered out mind

Everything in tatters the mosaic torn fragments dishevelled
black batik on the canvas sexy lace far from realistic realm

With the Sun God watching me in rehabilitation from booze
and delusion I painted love in the soil with Jacaranda petals

A purple display of what could not have been foreseen as
some ‘inmate’ before me had dressed up wish’s desperation

Her heart on the lawn in those petals in an innocent message
across and upon the Universe made match and soul’s mate

Colour and passion drew us together a beeline without
knowing what was what who was who just knowing it was

Sharing and caring 'The Little Prince' Leonhard Cohen Bach’s 'Illusion'
'Alice’s Restaurant' drawing like magnets joined desire miracle love

New fires exploding a tsunami of feelings trust intuition and magic
one string with two puppets from heaven we went to the movies

‘Across the Universe’ anti-establishment and melodious Beatles
orchestrated sizzling fingers embraced hands and hearts together

Christmas Day almost a decade ago and still going we eloped
together best friends lovers and no idea of the journey before us

That less trodden path gifted us divine bliss and gave us that most
unconventional Christmas present we longed for so much and so long

Premium Member Six White Roses

The same striking man, the same lush, green land,
cushioned and delighted her heart in sleep.
Her romantic dream of senses was most grand
unless repeated fears began their slow, dark creep;
drowning and stabbing frights would often expand.
She would then wake, shaken, and try to understand.

This consistent dream had always just been.
Each night, the familiar reel repeated
with new chapters unfolding now and then.
Six sweet, white roses were never deleted
and repeatedly appeared at her dream’s end -
always pure white of a love intense blend.

She touched the new, glossy travel brochure,
ran her fingers along the pictured tree,
reminding herself that she was quite sure
it was the same tree her sleeping eyes did see.
This tree of certain enchanting allure
is what urged on her travel towards tomorrow's tour.

**********************************************

The guide led her slowly to the charming tree.
Its presence moved her into a faint-type sway.
When her trance-like eyes finally broke free
they took in surrounding nature’s breathtaking array,
and paused at her dream recalled mound of clay
where six, white roses lay in a love intense display.

Visibly shaken, the guide sat her gently down.
Sitting, too, he began sharing an ancient tale.
“Centuries agone, the prince loved a poorly
maiden from town. Family, foes and doctrine bid
this love to fail. They eloped, cloaked by soft darkness
draped all around. He wore armor and his beauty wore
her plain gown.”

“They returned after six love-days of bliss.
Only hours back 'fore his true love vanished.
No sign, no clue, the prince sought all amiss
and threatened the guilty would be banished.
The prince finally found her in the sea’s mist
with stab wounds he would not ever dismiss.”

“He buried his love and also a spell in this clearing.
He left no marker but a white rose for each day
he and his wife had shared perfect, loving, pairing.
So sure his spell would bring her near with love revered,
he vowed to watch over her grave using spell's sway
and to join her within three moons after she appeared."

The guide asked, “how much longer do you plan to stay?”
She glowed, “I must linger at least three moons after today.”
