Best Effeminate Poems

A Gay Sonnet

A Friday of Gayness

Today I drove to Faro town I wanted a meal of tuna steak with
onions at the café I used to frequent fifteen years ago.
The place had gone upmarket and so had the prices one waiter
remembered me but not my wife and she took a dislike to him
said he was effeminate; the café has two parts, one with a wine bar
I mostly sat there. Oscar Wilde came in or someone looking as him,
he remarked of what he had observed during the day an intelligent
mind who could recite his own poems beautifully .

I decide to become gay too, to be frivolous and happy, but avoid
the sex thing the very thought made me shudder.
Alas, I had to drive my wife home I tried to translate some of
Oscar`s remarks into Portuguese, she didn`t think it was funny
But that was my fault telling jokes is not my metier so I was
back being my pedestrian self

A Teacher Called Marty

There once was a teacher called Marty
Who taught each class as if it was a big party.
With a sax he explained he was jazzy
If there was doubt he would get sassy.

His style had students in the palm of his hand
Like a party of people vibing off a rock band.
Oh it didn't stop there
As he explained grammar without care
Students came from far and wide
They forked out a hefty travel fare
Marty's originality brought them there.

He was warm and compassionate
It was evidenced in his nature
With gestures somewhat effeminate.
Immediatly they twigged he's special
Unlocking their world understand the ethical.

Marty didn't care what other people thought
So get just taught and taught and taught
Each day the same way "English let's play!"
To have Marty is what the language sought.

The Cowboy

The Cowboy

In Texas they love football and cowboys, not your ordinary
cowboys mind, the ones who herd the cattle to slaughter,
but those who walk tall in local towns and own an oil well
or two. Real cowboys are usually black or Mexicans, low
paid and smell of cattle and dust; and when the cows are
delivered to the abattoir drink lone star beer, chew tobacco
and get arrested. Real cowboys dress in fancy dresses look
a bit effeminate, when drunk on whisky ride an artificial bull
and fall off to great applause from adoring female fans who
think those ridiculous pseudo heroes are for real.
In Texas they call it Americana, have a governor who gladly
condemn people to death, western tradition- hang them high-.
When Illusion overtakes overtake truths mainly because veracity
is boring, after all a cowboy is a cattle herder and reality lacks
the romance of a pearly studded dud.

A Landscape, Colorful Yet Gloomy

A distorted shadow of a vagabond
goes the field bobbing up and down
in the sunny and warm spring day’s shimmering air

For the flowers in the field are at their best,
the birds on the treetops enjoy to their hearts content

The upside-down green grass field, see through between hind legs
of a fawn who knelt to quench his thirst from the stream where
the sparkling water bubbled up from the spring overflows,
is the deep blue sky extended to the boundless infinity

The meadow,
where the colt gallops while flapping his mane in air
though they are yet to be grown;
the grassland,
where the calf follows her mother with the slender
and effeminate legs though walk falteringly,
is the deep blue sky joined in the horizon laying yonder

Although, the flowers in the field
and the foot of mountains is sweet-scented and brilliant,
and the birds in the woods and the groves are singing
joyfully and chirping their day away,
why the heart of vagabond who was shoved and pushed by the sunlight,
and, now, walks to the horizon between sky and the prairie as a piece of
drifting cloud, is so lonely and dejected

Premium Member Food Should Never Be Blue

Blue cheese doesn't sound good to me

Food should never be blue!

Orange and red and green are okay

To mention you just a few!

A man's suit should never be pink

It gives off a certain vibe!

It portrays a kind of effeminate touch

A thing you might want to hide!

You be the judge, what about ice cream?

Would you order a flavour called cow?

Probably not, but you never know

Could be the next craze after sow!

One more thing then I really must go

What would you think of purple fudge?

Not your thing? Doesn't turn your crank?

Just give your funny bone a nudge!

Why are we bound by customs and norms?

Why can't we step out of the box?

Like a body builder wearing a pink tutu

With pink and green polka dot socks!

My Anima

I carry an effeminate soul, yearning for ladylike answers in the night.
I carry the reason to be whole, learning delight comes within my fight.
I carry the baggage you stole, turning my sight from a womanly right.
I carry on my head a bowl, swerving away in spite of my feminine insight.

Somewhere between young lady-hood and maidenly I found a bag of blocks,
I was tender and delicate like rose petals falling below onto the rocks.
I fell in love with a gentleman who turned my entire life upside down,
he fell in love with a girly girl who knew he always wanted her around.
My sensitivity and worldly class brought sadness into my loving heart,
the second I heard it beating fast I knew my soul would fall apart.
Deep inside my femininity I held a deep arousing for my womanly senses,
I knew that one day I’d break from the heavy heart for all my offenses.
Even though my womanish needs keep me falling on my knees,
my thought prevails and the garden’s light is all my tender heart sees.
My eyes are set on the east while my feet keep walking to the west,
I guess that’s the part of a woman who always tries to look her best.
Sincerity and empathy are sleeping in the core of my essence,
while people pleasing and the need to be happy taught me many lessons.

I carry a perfect smile, while my sorrow runs deeply inside.
I carry the laundry pile, as my tomorrow’s are wanting to hide.
I carry a simple style, as I borrow dreams walking in perfect stride.
I carry a small nail file, as I wallow away to the stream I have cried.

Nietzsche

"Such mighty music from a single soul!
Ah, Wagner, you were superman until
Religion made your song effeminate.
Who can forgive your cowering 'Parsifal'!"

The old man's hands fell on piano keys,
But not into a chord. He saw the book
And touched it gently as he would a child,
And said, " You know I, too wrote good books once."

A worm of youth was gnawing in his brain,
Was eating up his passion's time and form,
Was spreading through his vision's final space
Its poisonous rest, its waste--oblivion.

Premium Member On Etiquette

Here is a poem on etiquette, about which
I barely know the subject from the predicate

It seems to me that etiquette's all stuffy
It's for royalty's ilk, haughty and puffy
Who the hell cares how you hold your fork
One way for fish, another for pork

Of course, eating soup's a precarious matter
Make sure not one drop is carelessly splattered
As for zupping up the dregs straight from the bowl
That faux pas will land you in etiquette gaol

Then there's the matter of how to drink tea
Proper form being, up with one's pinky
And effeminate gentlemen tuck in their napkins
When carving a bird with all the trappings

Well, I hope you've enjoyed this sacrilegious romp
Dripping with sincerity, and a dearth of pomp
And now that I have etiquette happily hammered
I leave it to you to lambaste English grammar

Hey,Its My Day

            Hey, its my day.

    A charming,effeminate,
stoic,fecund,firm mixture
with power to reach the globe
defines a WOMAN.

P.S-Happy women's day to all the talented lady poets and also to all women in the world.Wishing you all a bright future.

Premium Member Effeminate To a Degree

Once knew a gentleman from New York City
Some thought him masculine, I thought him pretty
Effeminate to a degree
Wearing short shorts, oouueee!
It's maybe why his buddies try to smother him with kissies

Heart Dweller

Heart Dweller
Dwelling in the heart , the heart dweller
Making the way of life;

Inclining to the emotions and feelings
Reaching the gate of thy;

Ephemeral were your words and phrases
Breaking the promises of mine;

Your characters and attitudes, whatsoever
Being the effeminate for masculine;

Boasting upon the qualities and traits
Is your weakness not of mine.

Premium Member God's Love

In my quiet time I meditate!
In my happy mood I appreciate
God's love ever unceasing
His mercies ever enduring!

In my joyful mood I celebrate!
In my thankful mood I enumerate
God's love and kindness
Abiding in us in their fullness!

In my time of trouble I demonstrate
In my time of persecution I remonstrate
God's love and goodness
Abiding in us in their wholeness!

From God's love nothing can us separate!
Good or bad times are too effeminate
God's love is forever sure
Dwelling in all who trust in him!

Pyrite

It's all so wondrous, so
effervescent and fleeting, the banner
flown half mast, raised at half pride; the
Ante made
three times. Scorned; red
tide.
Hearts and diamonds- the effeminate: negotiate with
diamonds to ensnare the heart; hark.
the spade, the
club.
Shovel and blunt instrument, masculine and
black as the night sky.
Pens and swords waging war in perpetual bliss.
Kings and queens, jacks and
diminutive fiends, marching towards the
joke that only Darwin knows is funny.
