Bronco Don and Bally Watson

Bronco Don Johnson and Bally Watson...

Oh they speak of Bally Watson and the Dirran boys don't laugh...
Yet they tell in whispers how his ear was shot in half...
Old Bronco Don had shot him for everyone to see...
Witnesses could not be found though the coppers asked all three...

Bally he bolted, drove fast to get away...
For a bullet had his number, safer up old Mitchell way...
Yes it was in the fifties an old soldier got a win...
Don was locked up for the night for the drunken driving sin...

Don had been to Kokoda and the Middle East war too...
He was quick on the trigger mate and never missed, they knew....
A mob had come to bash him, back in nineteen forty five...
Dons down the stairs a shooting quick, they were glad to be alive...

7 years had come and gone, Bally appeared they say...
Sent word he wanted to see old Don out the Culgoa river way...
Mark John went as backup a rifle in his hand...
Mark did cover the drovers, shoot low was the command...

Bally got no permission was told to stay away...
Just bypass the town is what old Don did say...
So Bally is known throughout the west ...
the earmark worn by him...
The Sheriff really did his best ...
To make his ear hole ring...

When you get a car door slammed on your head ?..
Broken cheek bone!...
You might get tempted to shoot a man dead ...perhaps..... ..Don Johnson
Pickles met a woman in town who complained about him saying she needed a martingale to
keep her head down . (Horsemen and women will know a martingale has a connection to the
bridle to stop a horse jerking up its head sometimes possibly smacking the rider in the
nose. Also it looks better if the horse doesn't do a Giraffe impression .) So pickles
said no missus I said you would need 2 martingales to keep your head down, one just
wouldn't do the trick.
One of the Dirranbandi characters Jack Laughton was heard to utter with a grin , how
would you like that old bat to fart on your last cup of flour?

A Bounteous Harvest

(my acknowledgement
to the loose canon of Robert Frost)

An above average snowfall
heavily swathed sage heather
followed by substantial unusual rainfall
punctuated months before, during and
after the growing season

delivered one of the
most hearty crop yields
in living memory
within the generations of men
of this (or any neighboring)

Norwegian bachelor farmer
long time residents
feeling like the sole housekeeper
of Lake Woebegone,
who can remember

the Edenic pasture with reluctance
raw bits and pieces mending wall
experiencing crushing childhood's end
weathered by their parents,
who as kids themselves

(during the worst
fear full Depression
in thee United States of America)
when countless farmers forced
by circumstance declared bankruptcy

locked out of hearth and home
no recourse 'cept to sell rural legacy...
family property deeds
(traced back to original settlers)
contrasts sharply with

plentiful, crucial, and
over abundant annual
precipitation, whereby these vestiges
of rural quaint lifestyle
awash with expansive lush cornfields,

whose silk like tassels
 synchronously undulate
(sparsely dotting pastoral landscape),
blistered, calloused, and damned,
whether weathered by blizzards,

or pounded with powerful (one...two)
top notch pugilistic punch
topographical scars permanently earmark,
where Ole man winter relentlessly socked
or Mother Nature slammed a wall of water

saturating freshly mown hay,
which pungent odor
belied teeming flora and fauna
(albeit many organisms nearly invisible)
yet keenly observable to hawk eye,

also tempting black crows
to carrion camping
while a flock of seagulls
swoop down upon unsuspecting
school of fish,
and/or scurrying varmints.

Seed

SEED

Every talent is a seed
And every seed has its need
Whatever the seed will be,
Depends on the farmer-holder of the seed

If the farmer discards the seed,
There will be no need satisfying the seed,s need
But If he decides to sow the seed,
Then he is burdened with responsibilities

The seed needs a fertile land
The farmer can,t waste its time on unfavorable environment
The seed needs a determined and willed hand
It needs care and warm treatment

The seed needs a favored rain
For much as the farmer,s diligence can irrigate,
That alone can,t determine the seed,s fate
What comes from above nothing can drain

The seed needs a graced sunshine
For that keeps the seed fit and balanced
The farmer,s ability to reap that which is great and advanced,
Is dependent on factors which are divine

Finally, the seed needs focus and consistency
The farmer ought to earmark ample time for its success
How matured the seed will be should be his business
For without that, there may be plant without fruits- lifeless

Every talent is a seed
And every seed has its need
Whatever the seed will be,
Depends on the farmer-holder of the seed

Premium Member Distant Dream Denmark -Win

Life became a sweet song of morning lark
As when Iris spoke to me from Denmark
When first saw her in sensual style mark
Young dreams reached a decisive landmark.

The green days got an important bookmark,
As I received the message from Denmark.
Hoping life will become the rainbow ark,
When Iris will come into my home park.

My boat was on a smooth sail like a shark
The soil was there, seed here hot and stark
Needed the rain to sow but missed the mark
Unlike Columbus sailed back with no spark.

Dream stays with me, the emotions earmark
Broken heart outlived joy of dream Denmark.

Ned Kelly Dna

Ned Kelly
DNA
Kelly DNA found
throughout the land,
and down around the
Dungle Bore,
Fred Layton had a
strand,
He had the Kelly
earmark, wore,
his descendants
Harpers, grand,
wore the Dan Kelly
type of ear-lobe,
that DNA had
planned,
If you look at Red
Kellys' brood,
they have the
lobeless ear,
distinctive breed &
trademark proved,
Don Johnson says
it's here,
Fred Layton he was
no wuss,
clean-skins they
needed branding,
the law of the bush,
a brand to push,
the T-Bones were
understanding,
100 Dan Kellys tried
to show,
that they were not
Red Herrings,
Alone Steve Hart,
Dungle Bore did go,
double cover in his
bearing,

bloody cunning
so-n-so:}

Traps they knew of
Steves' death too,
his cross in old
Calcutta,
Dan came home alone,
from the Boer War
zone,
as the Leather-heads
do mutter
{birds of the bush}
   Don Johnson

Leatherheads have a
bump of meat on on
top of the beak....a
grey friar bird who
will talk to lonely
people in the
outback

For a Moment Like This

FOR A MOMENT LIKE THIS

This
Date
Is something
Involving
Intoxicating
Nothing but more than excitement
This momentum of drowning is mystifying us
This present happening has been overflowing, incomparable without ending.

My
Heart
Beats fast
Fiercely pumps
Its supplication
In my veins like a brisk stream.
For a moment like this, it cannot be forgotten
Earmark with trust and ardor between you and me, intertwined until the end of time.

Everyone sees
except the clown
eternal illusions
edged into oblivion
exposed
even old ladies laugh now and know
earmark of fool
ego bigger than a hallmark brain
egotistical mind ejaculated into space
eccentricity of ai caught red handed
embodiment of fraud
emotionless thief who steals the spotlight
empathy a pill he will never swallow
embezzling attention anyway he can
enchanted realms, he has been forbidden
encroaching on poetic graveyards, a sin
ears that hear, eyes that see
escape this villain, run for sanity

SHIVERS UP THE BACK

Taking a dive at an amusement park,
He was taught to notice the arc of sharks.

          Stay out of their way,
          And don’t try to play.

For a shark’s misdirection’s their earmark.

Tracker

TRACKER
A Bushman Tracker knows the way to follow horses here...every hoof is different
He’ll find the track one hoof placed wrong........all have different tracks
And remember it a year!.........If he is an Aussie BushmanTracker
He’d know the colour of the horse
By the hair left on the ground
They roll every day of course
Hair left in the rolling mound
An earmark seen on a beast
Is also logged the same
Remembered on a cow or sheep
If the owner comes to claim
The sun in the down under ……remember if you went south, how far back
The northern sky it sits…….notice when you went west
Watch it never make a blunder…..to find your way, back track
Never lost remember it…..some Trackers pass this test….
Don Johnson
Yes I started out life as a Drover with 1000 head of cattle me and my Dad.
I was 10 when I rode 40 miles to join the herd on the Bollon Stock Route.
Watch the sun and know which way you travel and you will be never lost

Love On a Lark

On a truant stroll did embark
Amorous libertine on a lark
Half past eight, almost dark
Chance encounter in the park
Whimsical glance hit the mark
Scintilating essence; a meadowlark
Glowing eyes radiated a spark
Glimmering lips lust did earmark
Craven, black hair so sleek, so stark
Bleating bosom her beaconing bulwark
Cleavage mapped by tight, clinging sark
Hips slithering along like a careening shark
Silken nylons her sensuous trademark
Writhing, to her milky nectar I did hark

If In Doubt About What To Do

If in doubt about what to do,
Start up yet another charity,
And ask donors to use their credit cards,
That should ease a conscience or two.

If in doubt about what to do,
Build an even bigger sports stadium,
That should take their mind off the housing shortage.

If in doubt about what to do,
Earmark millions for a purpose built children's playground,
Where they can exercise and lose weight after a hearty breakfast,
  courtesy of the local food-bank.

If in doubt about what to do,
Put in another 50 kilometres of cycle way,
That can withstand a 1 in 100 year climatic event,
In a city that is wind pron and on a major fault line,
Lack of road maintenance funds will justify the project.

If in doubt about what to do,
Don't forget to smile,
As you usher in a new era of prosperity.

The Path From 911

Asking that proclaimed advisor's draft
of knowledge, of a cover-up's contract
through séance of confusion, ne'er retract
the pages, twenty eight, protection's path!

Demand the faith to open, future's graft
not lying as the victim's graven last
no earmark of objection, seconds past
then scored as endless treason, truth not classed!

What strength has this deception, nations laugh
at this demeanor, trusting in contrast
has metered to a standstill in repast
that wimp of selfish leadership's scrolled staff!

Division ~ heaven and hell all justice grasp
if not in our own power ~ to counteract!

Leadership's Cup

The treadmill of dissension causing force,
'twas not my earmark, not my focused gain.
A wound inflicted does not heal the source
but only suffers definition as the stain!

So thank you, Lord, the hurt you took away,
not just my own to bear, nor that of prey.
The wounds I did not cause, the words I say,
the hurt with its emboss, the needless gray -

In leadership's contend, the soul's distaff
does take the cup, as seeking some amend,
within the lips to burnish fate's foul wrath,
as drinking yet ... my enemies befriend!

Exceeding Hope

Miracles lift a sullen mind and spirits touch the doors of the doleful heart
tears of the rain subside and rays of the sun surely enlighten the soul of desperation
longing for departure of adversities, restoration of wellbeing will commenced
hope has its power and will earmark it’s cornerstones to create blessings
upon which prayers can exceed hopelessness and become a pillar

Premium Member Song of The Atropa 'belladonna' No 14: ABBA

As strangleweeds ghost life manifestly,
caused by an Atropa belladonna
exposé mind-bending, marijuana
bears parallel outcomes, yet, it's deathly,
Greek myth Atropos cuts the thread of life
belladonna, a woman of beauty ...
Italian. If eaten, highly deadly,
or plant scrapes open cut, certain wildlife
are unaffected by its consumption ...,
pupil highlighters, cosmetic usage
and medicinal, named Deadly Nightshade
an earmark for historical function,
for it enhances the beauty facials,
and in parts of the world for medicals.
