I dreamt of blue birds
and buzzing bumble bees.
I roamed with the bison herds,
prayed with mantis on our knees,
and butterflies in the breeze.

I greeted the cheery chickadees,
dragonflies, and snowy owls.
I marveled at graceful manatees.
raucous sounds of guinea fowls,
and warblers’ velvet vowels.

I raved at ravens
dancing on a fertile field.
Mice sought havens,
safe shelters that red ants build
in hopes from spiders to shield.

I spotted rain-drenched
autumn leaves in tapestries,
their beauty strangely entrenched.
Purple hues imbued in varying degrees,
of gladiolas and sweet peas.

So many perfect pleasures,
many another than these.
All of God’s treasures,
created with love to please,
arranged to calm my world with ease.

I Dreamt Last Night of You and Me

I dreamt last night of you and me,
your lips so soft I kissed
We floated on a silken cloud,
drew rainbows on the mist

Then counted daisies in a field
and when your smile appeared
I gathered up a sweet bouquet
that whispered in your ear

Made love upon a mountain top,
the snow was pure and white
Then marveled at a hummingbird
its tiny wings a’ flight

We rode inside a trolley car
up hills and over dales
Setting forth to distant shores
with paisley colored sails

Caught moonbeams in a Mason jar,
and poured them on our skin
Then there neath jealous fireflies
we made sweet love again

Set dominoes in a straight line
and laughed as they did fall
Your evening gown and brand new shoes
were perfect for the ball

We caught a flight to someplace near,
yet is was also far
For when we landed once again
we stood upon a star

That’s when I heard from listening
to someone passing by
This evening now came to an end
I thought that I might cry

But when my eyes did open to
your beauty as my view
It mattered not what I had dreamt,
my dreams had all come true

I Dreamt of You Last Night

We stood on the bow
of an old wooden ship.
Splashing waves; music sounds;
salty mists with each dip.

I, in a white pheasant dress;
you only in jeans.
No one else on the deck;
just us in bare feet.

Your chest, warm to my back;
wrapped in your loving arms.
Mystic waters of black;
Ocean sky casts moon and stars.

Ancient lands strangely appear
as completely in full view.
You softly whisper in my ear,
"This world's for me and you."

A realm only for us;
in dreams we meet there.
Awakened, I touch
dried salt in my hair.

Last night I had a dream
I’d met the king and queen.
I was among the guest,
waiting to be seen.

They sat in separate rooms
and interviewed each guest,
When it was my turn,
I curtsied and begun

I spoke to only Charles
and even danced with him
Diana was there too,
she spoke to but a few.

I wondered if he knew,
If the rumors were all true.
That she was not to be
with him eternally.

Then one day she was gone
She left her loving sons
her dreams to carry on
The work she had begun

I Dreamt It All

I know that I shall meet a pretty someone
	Somewhere in the shops across the mall;
Those that I date now I do not love at all,
	The lips that I kiss now I do it all for fun;
My life is driven by dreams and fate,
My love life is without honesty or sate,
But no part of you could understand me well
Or know what I feel or know where I dwell.
Nor guilt, nor situation oblige me to lie,
Nor predicaments, bade me to sigh,
A lonesome soul bereft of delight –
	I, who sleeps alone, by the night;
I dreamt it all: the woman, the date, and the day,
The months to come will demise my solitude away
Because all that I dreamt is all that I sought,
There shall be no more cries nor any ugly thought.

Last night I dreamt you saw me
Really saw me for the first time
Not who you thought I should be
But the real me

I danced in front of you
Not caring what you thought
I embraced who I am instead of what I'm not
Unafraid
Unashamed
I watched you smile
I felt happy for a while
You were not playing grownup games
What I lacked not a source of your shame
I didn't feel like I was to blame
Sometimes I've wished for a different name

I watched as you delighted in me
Oh what a dream
Like the cherry on top of a dollop of cream
My nirvanah
My elusive stream

When I wake I see your face
No joy there not a trace
I'm disappointed too
I'm hiding me and you are still you
So we continue
Like every day
Me not me and you being you

For Judy's Dad Contest

Sorry, it's not a Norman Rockwell type relationship.

Hello Soup friends, do not worry I am not writing about a rocky
marriage but rather about the expectations of a father for his son.
This has long passed but I drew on the memory for this contest.

Premium Member I Dreamt a Mermaid

I dreamt that I went swimming
In the deep blue sea
Along came a mermaid
Who swam right next to me

What most I remember
Is she pulled me underneath
Into a cave where it was dark
Deep, below the coral reef

She opened up my pocket
And she dropped a pearl inside
Then she said "Hop on my tail...
We're going for a ride"

She took me to a shipwreck
Decaying on the ocean's floor
And she wanted me to swim with her
Inside the captain's cabin door

Suddenly, we both swam inside
And she led me to some jewels
She said that they were thrown overboard
By some drunken pirate fools

She pointed to my pocket
With the pearl stuck in my vest
And she wanted me to take it out
So, I could return it with the rest

As soon as I returned the pearl
The mermaid lost her tail
Then, she walked the aisle with me
Wearing a "pearl white" veil

The next day before I fell asleep
I was happy and full of glee
Because I knew that I would kiss my wife
If I jumped into the sea

Of january starting a new year

Of heart messages written on colored paper in february

and my birthday in april

of green cabbage and corned beef in march

Of hot dogs and hamburgers in may for memorial day

the beginning of summer in june

And fireworks in july

The summer coming to an end in august

Labor day gatherings before the kids start back to school in september

Spooks and goblins prancing through the street in october

A turkey feast in november

And everyone opening gifts in december.

i dreamt
i was a bumblebee
wild and carefree
frivolous and playful
dancing up
a summer breeze
flirting with the sun
a wanderer a drifter
tipsy drunk on perfumes
enticing and alluring
irrevocably seduced
in a sea of temptresses

While I Dreamt

Long hair, coal, coiled
‘Round fingertips, bone white.

O, my diffident lover,
How I waited for that night.

When I held you as you dreamt,
And kissed your quivering lips.

When we bathed in the uncloaked moonlight,
In an everlasting eclipse.

Sky, the blankest façade
Lit by nicks of white.

I carry you into my dream;
I carry you into the night.

I dreamt it and now the s c e n e decays and withers away,
     all those past sorrows that come slithering when I close my eyes;
oh, will there be a time when sadness fades, dims and dies, I pray,
             when I do not linger amongst stones cold and angels weeping;
holding a ruby red r o s e while memories come creeping.
When even the birds stop singing in my dreamy blue indigo skies,
oh, will there be a night of no  n i g h t m a r e s  when I am sleeping;
when I can put my head upon my pillow until the break of day.

Last Night I Dreamt I Saw You

Last night I dreamt I saw you standing
in a field of blue wild flowers,
it's been decades since I've seen you,
but it only felt like hours.

You were smiling at me,
that crooked smile I love,
I tried to move toward you, but
my feet were stuck in mud.

I was rooted to the spot,
on the border of that field
and, though I longed to reach you,
the earth refused to yield.

Frustrated and panicking I
looked down at my feet,
and then you were gone and...
I guess I was asleep.

I dreamt of you sweet dreams
Faceless tall and proud
Approaching on your horse
In the darkness of the night

Visions of your gracefulness
Enticing me to follow you
And promise my fidelity
From here on to eternity

I know not your title or your name
But I’ll recognize you from my dreams
As I wait for you returning in the night
I’ll call you Lady Death riding in the dark

“Life would be so wonderful if we only knew what to do with it. ”

                                                    Quote _Greta Garbo

Greta Garbo,
born poor-  she was considered a weirdo;
but Hollywood said- her acting skill we can tweet,
because she has beauty ... even though she has huge feet!

Last night I dreamt of the waterfall
and the night that we made love,
on the rock beside the stream
while the mist fell from above.

I dreamt of promises never to keep
and plans that never would be.
It was a memory of long ago
when there was a you and a me.

Only in dreams is our love real.
Only in dreams are you here.
In waking moments I feel the loss,
the loss that can still bring a tear.

A million years has come and gone.
A million lifetimes too,
but last night I dreamt that dream again,
the one of me and you.

Last night I dreamt of the waterfall,
making love beneath it's spray.
All too quickly the dream was gone
as I woke to the light of the day.
