Best Darnell Poems
I love you much,
Billy Patrick,
And I miss you so much more!
I hope you're resting peacefully,
I'll see you soon at Heaven’s door!
Until we reunite, my son,
Keep an eye from above on your so
Help him along his way!
You left him way too soon,
But that was God’s design
Even though you didn’t want it that way.
Let Eoin feel you still exist with his heart,
He won't judge you
Coming eternally from inside.
That, you never intended on,
Leaving him so soon
From the way that you departed.
But, things happen so unexpectantly.
It was a state of confusion
That took me to the illusion
That you were still here the whole time.
It’s time that I let you go,
My son
Rest peacefully
Smile, I’ll see you on the inside.

Grandparents old of grandparents new,
The unique joy that you are bringing true.
Fairy tale's told in the rosy past,
My first granddaughters are here at last.
Fishing trips and ice cream cones,
Lullaby songs until we doze.
Stories told upon cozy laps,
Sunny walks on shaded paths.
Butterfly kisses and big bear hugs,
Truly grandparents is another word for love.
Come Rest With Me
My Parents,
Bob and Thelma Darnell
R.I.P. 1998, 2000
God saw you getting weary,
He did what He thought best.
He put His arms around you and said,
come with Me and rest.
He opened up His Golden Gates,
on that sad day.
And with His arms around you,
you gently slipped away.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone.
A part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
And with this poem, I write,
I bid you goodbye.
Rest in peace, my loving parents,
I'll see you on the other side.

Acrostic - William Patrick Darnell Sr
Willingly loving people as God would do;
Intelligent funny, wittily making you chuckle til blue
Listening with his heart so others can speak their words
Learning what he must, trying not to make a mistake
Ideally, he wouldn't live as he has it was his to make
Aiming toward his stars for some solitude at a sway
Minding his own business, walking down this lonely road.
Paying it forward, for there's no greed to his soul;
Always praying for others and their needs as it foretold
Tries to do what's right when this world is losing its way
Reaching out for a conversation with some play
Ignoring politicians as they do America wrong
Chooses to see and take people for who they are
Kind, mindful, and thoughtful because that's just who he is.
D-reaming dreams, he longs for the life he once lived;
Asking God to Bless his people, always as I pray to Him
Real as he can get, yearning for his late wife, she REST
Nothing fake about him, ask God, through your hearts
Element of surprise is his wisest decision made
Loving himself finally, he hasn't done it for a long time
Learning as he's chosen, with Christ Jesus, by his side.
So it's time I find an end to a good old country song,
Respecting others and living out my days.
A National Tribute To Chris Cornell
Such a treasure! He'll always live in our hearts, and nothing can take that away from any of us. The beauty of death can sometimes make treasurable moments, that we all band together in moments that break worlds such in his memorable footprints that he left behind for us to live on, not forgetting his time here, but seeing the beauty that he left to just stop, look around and see them like this.
Rock on in those Sky's of blue, you will never be forgotten in our lives, and hearts, and souls. You were an inspiration to many, and talented singers, writers, and music encouragement to millions. Thank you, for being the artist you were, I'm grateful. You're loved and still loved, and your love will remain here in this life for all eternity as it is marked now. Inspiring artists you were, R.I.P Chris Cornell and play your music and sing your songs to Angel's up there including God! God Bless you, brother...

For human was born unto this world,
as He so chose to be.
This God of our's, now Jesus Christ,
is great Blessed love to see!
We build our homes and decorate too,
for all of us to be.
The very ground you sit upon, belongs to Him,
not you or me!
As the wind blows softly,
through the leaves of trees.
The flowers dance mirthful in thier beds.
The harvest of the field grow by day,
while the wind blows through their pads.
To see the harmony of the nature grows,
Mother land plays in this part.
Thus we see that God had made,
this great world we live apart.
By William P. Darnell Sr.
You came here children to save a marriage,
that couldn't be saved.
You were delivered with all the hope,
humanity can bring to a new day.
You came and life was better,
the childrens faces answered so many questions.
You came expecting nothing,
deserving the chances only we can give.
You came, we failed!
Now we must all see about tomorrow.
By William P. Darnell Sr.
As darkness engulfs itself around me,
I start to feel tired and suddenly alone.
By myself and away from the world
Darkeness has blanketed over me.
I fall into the darkness more,
Only to begin to sleep.
I start to miss the outside and
Light of the world.
But alas, I am still overcome.
Overcome by the darkness.
When I finally drift back into slumber,
I dream.
I dram of a warm sun, of light,
and a flower.
The flower is a beautiful mixture
Of green and pink.
Suddenly, it fades into darkness.
So I awaken and to my delight,
The darkness has been conquered
And there is light.

My cat is a rescue me,
The abandonment of loneliness
He had his Forever Home promise
My love and affection were his.
See, he turns out to be,
Complete contentment we shared
Mutual grounds in battles, here
We did not care and laughed.
My cat was very special to me:
He was all that I had in this world.
He did love me a bunch, you see;
I loved him back even more
With this punch, I had shown.
He gave me a reason to live;
He started to grow and give
He greeted me every morning
He gave me his meow-to gear.
Until he was watered and fed;
He weighed twenty-five lbs
He was this big boy, instead!
As he was growing up:
I taught him to Box, indeed
Yes, you read that right, I say
I taught Mischief how to Box.
He would get up on his hind legs,
He gave a pawing jab
With his pawing punch
It is true he could Box.
Mischief grew over the years,
And we always had fun in tears
He had come to a spot in his life
It was our saddest one, we feared.
June 30th was the day;
Independence was here
He was playing around in the house
He lay under the air, basking him.
Then he came to the room,
He wanted to take a nap
Up in the window, he went
Not knowing it would be his last stint.
Then the next thing I knew,
He was dragging his legs
He cried with a bellowing pain in his voice
Mischief had a stroke that day.
In such a heartbreaking way,
For this cat to bear
I needed to relieve his pain.
I left him there for the night,
He was under sedation
I collapsed, walking away
He gave me such a fright.
July 1st came in,
He looked at me with a thirst
Then he kissed my hand, that he knew
And laid in my lap
We Loved Blue.
He wanted up to my shoulders,
Then give me this
One Lasting Hug
The vet had his cocktail treat waiting,
My Mischief Lotus,
Departs
Now He sleeps!
Oh, my heart aches for you;
Of the agonized pain he suffered
That bellowing, hurtful cry,
He is Free,
Now He Flys!
I know this grieving here will pass,
In its time indeed.
Rest In Peace,
My Lil Buddy

Power With Influence
Give a man much power and influence,
And with their character see congruence;
Crusty complex inferior;
Wishing was superior;
Things will become terse as well as tense.
Think Abraham Lincoln said something
similar to this. Today is anniversary of
the Darnell, Arizona Granite Mountain
Hotshots.
(Note: This is the introduction of a poem story I'm writing. This serves as the introduction to the key characters. The picture is hazy right now, but as time progresses, the characters will change from blurry images to distinct portraits. Will they live? Will they die? Only time will tell....)
A Night Of Demons -inceptum-
1
A little child looks up at the sky,
And sees the moon.
A buzzing fills the air,
So she pulls out her cell phone.
A message awaits:
You are going to die.
She's an innocent girl
in a world full of demons.
Her name is Alice,
and she's afraid.
2
The bus makes its last stop
on the corner of Brambleton.
A tired young man stands up,
and almost falls.
He notices words etched into the seat:
You are going to die.
He's just a simple man
in a world full of demons.
His name is Hank,
and he's afraid.
3
The last of the dishes are put away,
and she collapses to the floor.
Her back is acting up once more.
She notices a flash card,
and there is something written:
You are going to die.
She's just a motherly housewife
in a world full of demons.
Her name is Ashley,
and she's afraid.
4
Music blares in a pair of headphones,
and a boy rides a skateboard across a busy intersection.
He narrowly avoids getting hit.
As he falls, a billboard catches his eye.
He notices large yellow words:
You are going to die.
He's just a high school student
in a world full of demons.
His name is Darnell,
and he's afraid.
5
The final boss in a long Japanese RPG awaits,
and at long last he'll finish off the 100 hour game.
If only he could avoid the instant death magic,
maybe he wouldn't get a Game Over.
But he can't, and the game flashes the following message:
You are going to die.
He's just a video gamer
in a world full of demons.
His name is Jack,
and he's afraid.
6
The world is slowly falling apart
Most simply do not notice
a shadow watching the night.
A foul wind whispers in the Shadow's ear
the message of a demon:
They are going to die.
It's just a sinister shadow
in a world full of demons.
It goes by Joker,
and it's not afraid.
I'm sending my love,
And here's a hug too
Wishing nothing but
The absolute best for you.
With love and esteem,
We shall find our way
Hoping, and waiting for Ole' St Nick
Come and let's go play!
There's rumbling up on the rooftop,
And, the clatter was loud
Can someone, please, go up there
And have a look around.
We, nestled in our beds,
Dreaming of our dreams
Sleep, my precious angels
Under the moonlight's beam.
Ole' St Nick was cloaked, waiting patiently,
Then with this twinkle of his nose, he gave
You can see Ole' St Nick out there
Dashing across the nites sky; he raves!
He'll be ringing, and singing,
With glee in his voice, he shouts
A Merry Christmas to All
On, Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer, and Vixen.
And to All,
Ho, Ho-Ho!
On, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen.
To the North Pole, Rudolph!
A Good Nite!

Thrill is Gone
Blues Boy, oh blues boy

Lucille's lover done gone
now I'm goin' down slow
B.B. bye baby
I jus' heard da news
that B.B. is gone
the King of the blues
"thrill is gone away from me.
Although I'll still live on,
But so lonely I'll be."*
knowin' no more B.B.
Lucille, Lucille,
I want you to know
I too, loved that blues man,
B.B., your beau

A person who judges another, is at risk of not being forgiven.
Inspired by William Darnell Sr. My comment on his poem titled “Hangman”.
Remember (smiling) when:
You, me, the children then
Being out on the farm.
We were out tumbling in the yard,
We had all tumbled so much
The fun we all had
We giggled so hard over by the barn.
The laughter and cheers going on,
The chicken was chasing us
The kids were in a disparity
The bumps and bruises everywhere
As the day rushed, we continued through.
We had the best time,
Playing and listening to songs
Out in the barn
Stacked with bales of hay.
The night sky comes rolling kindly in,
It's nature's time to turn down the leaves
We're watching the moon and the stars in the skies
We were looking for bright shooting stars
Shooting across the skies, so exceedingly high.
R.I.P. Shannon Darnell,
Love you both!
