Premium Member And I Am Grateful

A field of wheat cloaked in dewy silence
the orchestra tunes up with avian arias
bullfrog basses and a choir of cawing crows,
xanthic sunflowers turning their heads to better see,
the daylight trajectory commencing with lazuline layering,
a breeze glissandoes on harps of oak leaves
tomorrow is now today,
   and I am grateful.

An officer of the law taps on my door
my breath and heartbeat screech to a sudden stop
preparing for the next-of-kin speech, or
where-were-you-on-the-night-of-the-23rd interrogation,
instead she informs me my car is ten inches in the red
and with a smile suggests I move it before I get a citation
pulse resumes as oxygen reunites with lungs,
   and I am grateful.

A mask sitting by the front door; my ticket to commerce
the media replaying riot scenes, lockdown measures,
sporting event cancellations, worship restrictions,
death tolls, closed restaurants, and drive-by graduations.
Yet I am virus-free, housed, gainfully employed,
surrounded by family and electronically socialized,
I have my necessities: I am well-fed, well-loved,
   and I am grateful.

Premium Member Covid-19 Haunting Fear

Silence is deafening
Like a dungeon dark hallway.
Door after close door of bounding
Moans and groans, and painful
Yelling gasping for air.
I sit in this cold
Dark cell shivering with my
Blacken thoughts.
Am I the only sane one?
Am I the only healthy one?
They come in and out
At all hours to poke and prob.
I, a human, a pin cushion
Ready for use.
Trying someplace else to delve
Madden hunger for More pain.
In isolation with no touch for comfort.
They in hazmat suits
Because they cannot breathe my breath
Or touch my tainted skin.
Claustrophobic in these four walls
Lord, please save me
From this darkness and pain;
Meet my exhausted lids to rest.
All I see are the haunting eyes
Of the ghost that had passed
Veiled in fear white sheets of snow.

Fact Or Fool Who be You

I have seen
fools ranting
what's up Pink Floyd
No thinkers, no education
only poets with muse and frustration

The deniers of science
are committing massive crimes
jail should be their only pudding
sadly Covid takes many of them away
I have no sympathy for their ignorant play

the only ones bouncing in their beds
are the scientists
angry that such ignorance spreads
it's always the morons who resist

why do people carry such hate?
to tell lie upon lie upon loathing lie
letting thousands more in pain die
the penitentiary should be their fate

American prejudice has failed us
funding is ever lacking
Teachers who know not what's cracking
No wonder fools get away with the fuss

Science does not cover up
it only learns, adapts and that's a must
over six billion vaccines
thousands of doctors have over seen

The outbreaks now you see
are the unvaxxed injected with stupidity
they blame all the immigrants
hatred always blames the outsider

All in all, stupidity is never very tall

adventurer
across the seas
from galaxies a far
new universes
such beauty and wonder
a grand tour

earth seems like a second home
breathtaking landscapes, scenery
diversity
birds and bees
flowers everywhere

the human species there interesting
after a while they started though
to die
in the tens
then thousands
then millions

he was sad
he began so see
he was the cause
of this horrible plaque
unlike humans
he had 9 hearts and
24 souls

he toiled
day and night
being far more advanced
he provided them the cure

then he became perplexed
they seemed to wish death
like lemmings

some species
worship death
embrace it
dance to fairytales

evolution is not

A monster now has been set free
in this once land of liberty.
      This 'Frankenstein' divided us
due to the Covid vaccine fuss.

Glib leaders 'round the table sit-
like at a tea party, commit
      to brews concocted every day
that keep their madness on display.

Vaxxed diss the unvaxxed for the spread
who say the choice is theirs instead.
      Yet, now those jabbed can get sick too;
such dark unknowns hide what to do.

Now masking is for everyone;
   the vaccinated thought they won.
Again, each needs to hide their face
as noteless beings in our space.

Divided families now fight-
each side pleads other see the light.
      One side has faith in trial vax;
         the other, side-effects attacks.

This monster 'Frankenstein' digs deep
into our hearts and minds to keep
      division strong till final test
steals each free will as repossessed.

This freak is fierce, released from hell
   by leaders that now undersell
      the freedoms of democracy-
         for bondage of bureaucracy.

Premium Member To the Fallen of Covid 19

To all the fallen of Covid 19
whose deaths were unrecorded and unseen
To those who languished in intensive care
where Fear unmasked itself to mock each prayer

To mothers shedding tears from dawn till night
while clutching keepsakes of their children tight
To fathers who must raise their kids alone
who stoic in their grief, suppress each groan

To nurses, doctors, first responders, all
who risked their lives in answering the call
to face the mayhem, doing what it takes
Yet every day the virus raised the stakes

To those deprived of saying their goodbyes
who could not wipe the tears from closing eyes
To those who stood alone beside a grave
who mourned the youth that doctors could not save

To you now isolated in your house
who care for stricken child or unwell spouse
To you whose nightmares will not let you sleep
who plead of God your loved ones' souls to keep

What comfort can I give you who remain
when in the news there's talk of a new strain?
Just this that Covid 19 will not win
To let it crush our souls would be as sin

One day we're sure to leave the "hiding place",
and not to face our deaths, but live in grace
Though normalcy may not be like before,
I know that there are blessings still in store

Our faith and dreams remain pandemic free...
These Covid cannot steal from you or me
Humanity has learned what things are dear
We found new ways to keep our loved ones near

Another One Shuts Down - Corona Virus Edition

Another One Shuts Down (Corona virus version)

Gates and boards and reels of wire
Garbage by the gates
Driveway overgrown with grass
The factory is a state

Security checks once an hour
To make sure all's still locked
Another business shut it's door
the economy was rocked

Another workplace bites the dust
Another one shuts down
To find the business district here
You've got to leave the town

They're closing up 'bout one a month
Jobs are leaving by the score
When you leave, turn out the lights
And please folks, lock the door

Work is leaving faster than
It has ever in the past
There's more folks on assistance
How long will this all last?

Fifty years a hundred ten
Factories closing shop
There's more buildings that are vacant
Our growth came to a stop

It doesn't matter where you go
It's that damn covid one nine
If you are not essential
Out goes the "CLOSING" sign

It all comes down to profit
You're a number not a name
It doesn't matter where you go
Plant closure is the game

Another workplace bites the dust
Another one shuts down
To find the business district here
You've got to leave the town

They're closing up 'bout one a month
Jobs are leaving by the score
When you leave, turn out the lights
And please folks, lock the door

Premium Member We Are Covid Free

We're Covid free - restrictions lifted
Shop barriers, they have been shifted
But there’s still a queue
For the ladies loo
Weak bladders, us gals have been gifted!

Bars opened for drinking last night
At closing there’s a stupid fight
Folk have drunk too much beer
And they cannot think clear
These drunken brawls are such a fright

We’re finally free to go shopping
Pub’s open, at discos folk bopping
We can meet up with friends
At night time or weekends
No lockdown, but home’s where I’m stopping!

On the Isle of Man we have been covid free for 30 days and many restrictions have been lifted including social distancing but in general we are not doing anything different to how its been over the past 12 weeks - the BEST thing is I can visit mum in her care home once a week for 15 mins but because other people aren't using their slots I've been able to see her twice this week - I was one of few people who used to visit on a daily basis so I've been told if there are free slots I can request to go again. the border is still closed so hopefully we can remain virus free but we cannot be complacent.

Premium Member Covid 19 the Day After Or There About

I wrote two terrible poems last night.
Will this one be another?
I am looking at the clock.
It is time to leave and get the oil changed.
I read the sign as I pull in.
No Shirt, No Shoes, No Mask, No Service.
I don my mask before entering.

I greet the girl behind the counter.
Do I need an appointment?
I do not know all the rules.
She replies, walk-ins welcomed.

Politely takes my keys.
Just an oil change JC, I nod.
She knows me by name.
Not because of my Poetry.
It is just that I have been here before.

The service starts promptly.
Three now toil on my vehicle.
It used just to be one.
I am the lone customer in the reception area.

Tv still playing the same station.
No more free coffee.
My soul smiles, anyway.
I guess I should have expected it.

I start to listen to Janine Jansen, Vivaldi.
My earbuds are a no-name brand.
I wish I had my Audiophile headset.
But that would be rude.

The technician approaches me.
I was expecting this.
It is not a cabin filter this time.
That would only cost me an extra twenty bucks.

He explains I need my transmission fluid changed.
That is another One Hundred and Eighty bucks.
Shows me the samples he took.
I agree, and he says it will take a little while longer.

As I sit here listening to music.
My keys arrive twenty minutes later.
Drat, I still need a little more hope.
I was looking for one more concerto.

Time to pay as panic sets.
Did I forget my wallet?
No, it is here in my back pocket.
A wave of relief washes over me.

I am slowly returning to normalcy.
On the way home, I am thinking, Metallica.

Living With Long Covid After 19

How melancholy I yawn then sigh

When recalling who I was 2 year's
ago just before Covid-19 struck
I was doing alright getting bye ok
But fast forward currently to today
and I now feel completely different

As luckily enough for me though I have
not nor a close family member suffered
any ill effects had to be hospitalized
or far worse die

What I got instead is a sinking feeling
in the pit of my stomach and hole in
my heart that I fear may just be terminal

It's almost as if the world I thought and
have come to know throughout this
time has slowly ebbed the joy most
certainly has its in my rear view mirror now

And with it taken any hope a vaccine
or cure will be found in order to save
my fragile sanity from shattering

So i find myself asking who can and does
a Jester call when they themselves are
feeling down and in need of cheering up

And also at this moment I find myself
contemplating not quite sure if and
where redemption resides

But if it can't rain all the time
Better get busy living or busy dying

Said the Crow to the raindrop splitting
hairs on the Reapers scythe

What's kept you

For I have been long expecting you

Can't you see I have already packed
all of my baggage

Into the bin-bag's under my eyes

I am in this for the long haul

Premium Member Sins of the Fools

Sins of the Fools

Whichever God their dice shall chose
judgment rendered all the same
guilty of crimes against humanity
its a sin and not a game

No one is chosen
all life is precious
against warlords, uneducated and the cruel
man developed the vaccine
saved the child, the family, even the fool
from fairy tails and zealot jesters

There are those telling lies
spreading hate and falsehoods
for this, many had to weep and cry
countless relatives had to die

Regimes and third world places
one would think fall prey
to the snake oil salesman of the day
sadly its the good ol' USA
full of morons following foxy Carl's play

Even the wily coyote
would know carrots are not black
Fox news though plays for the sap
get vaxxed, and stop eating sugar
if conspiracy is your diet
I ask you to reconsider.

 Poetic Crimes

On and on
they go
the vaccine makes three heads
and sixteen toes

An elephant trunk
and five giraffe necks
not to mention a terrible
desire for Bill Gates micro softy

The 1600's sure had a basket
of stupid apples
how they bred them youngins
into 2021 is scary

Fools existed from the beginning
they will quote gods to the very end
while ventilators count one by one
their last feeble heart beats

Good riddance to the selfish few
go die and let us be
sadly a few will make it
moronic slugs murdering the

 innocent

New strain of Virus detected
just a minute ago! Predominately
in Democrat run cities and states:
Seems to be 3 trillion times more
infective. CDC is calling it the,
S.T.U.P.I.D. Variant. University Staffs
hard-hit! Early signs, loss of Sense-
of-Smell, Gullibility, and increased
fetish for Designer Masks. Best
detected by examination of Cancel
Cultures -- microscopes prohibited
per Fauci. The most vulnerable group
seems to be those who have already
had 4 doses and 2 boosters. To treat
Fauci recommends, 4 doses and 2 boosters
for everyone, preferably administered
as young as the womb to developing
fetuses by his personally trained
omnipotent physicians at Unplanning
Parenthood -- Biden and Pelosi
say, God Bless America!
