Death be not proud but humble with strife
Old man flicks ashes, has one last choke
‘Tis nothing to fear, just the nature of life

Many passed before him, cut off like a knife
They fester in his memory with this his final smoke
Death be not proud but humble with strife

In youth there were ladies, his courtships were rife
But never a vow, no promises he spoke
‘Tis nothing to fear, just the nature of life

He lived wild and free, never seeking a wife
Much wealth he acquired, never to be broke
Death be not proud but humble with strife

He failed to see beyond the edge of gold’s knife
Shared nothing, loved no one, found no comforting cloak
‘Tis nothing to fear, just the nature of life

Tonight he wishes that he should have changed his life
He snuffs his candle, knows he’ll not feel heaven’s stroke
Death be not proud but humble with strife
‘Tis nothing to fear, just the nature of life

Premium Member Life Is a Song

Chorus of ecstatic themes, lyrical refrain of dreams, life is a song,
Of valued relationships, earnest friendships, that long to belong,
Of courtships, love, and passion; igniting romantic flame of heart,
Of memories nostalgic, sensuous mellifluous melodies impart.

A passage on rough seas, vying abode upon shores of morrow,
Through storms of yesteryears, defying hurricanes of sorrow,
Traversing to joy of springs, rising from decay of wintry woes,
Aspiring to future of sunny days, exiting past of gloomy shadows.

An odyssey ethereal, harmonizing life’s verses, in stanzas of time,
A symphony melodious, extolling serenity of journey sublime;
In ballroom of glamor, life is an exotic ballet~ an enthralling dance,
Grooving doting realms of love, sponsoring concert of romance.

Sonorous is resonance of life, serenading bequest of benevolence,
Reverberating in goodwill vibes, defying grimace of malevolence,
Tranquil in hymns lauding reverence, heartbeats cadent compose,
Humming chords of empathy, teachings compassionate chose.

Celebrating life; applause and laughter abound, in gleeful sound,
When emanating from hearts and minds, tolls of felicity resound,
When treasured albums of love and joy~ prompt us to sing-along
Proclaiming in rhapsodic beats, rising to crescendo: life is a song.

No One Knows...

No one knows...The pain I've suffered and gone throught.
       If you can't relate, maybe you can see my pint of view.
No one knows...That I was a child severely confused.
       I was physically and sexually abused.
              I went through yesterday what you see today on the news.
                     I still feel the bruise....
No one knows...That depression affected me to the core.
       My emotions within me causing war.
               The paranoia would be hard to ignore.
                      I would listen for footsteps creak outside my bedroom door....
No one knows...The extent of my distrust.
       My heart did as it must and it was hard to adjust.
No one knows...That during the night I would cry myself to sleep.
       The physical scars were more than skin deep.
No one knows...Those personal demons affected my courtships,
       And my fear of abandonment would destroy my relationships.
No one knows...I overcame these obsticles alone.
       Slowly this organ has healed beneath my breastbone.
No one knows...I long for that love and security.
       I'm praying for that strong woman to come along and comfort me....

Premium Member Summer Loves

When gazing 'cross love's glistening expanse,

               The magic of those June thru August moons ...

       Was bound to weave the warmest of romance -

                      Its beams, the dreamy silk of summer swoons.

Those sizzling weeks were somehow rarefied,

               With breath that stirred a longing deep within,

       And carried angels, blessed, but just this side

                      Of being much too chaste and sweet for sin.

Oh brief, the winsome balm of summer days,

               Yet briefer are the courtships that they bind -

       Those magic spring-tide sparks, so set ablaze,

                      Burn hot-but-faster, in the hearts they find.

Tho' all those summer flings will find us old,

                      The embers warm us ... as our days grow cold.

A Viking's Valentine Forboden of Thing

Yearning- the bosom gemstone’s ever-grasp
Without, on wavy roads of sea-asp’s Mesmerizing sky-eyed without fear Billowing locks of Freyja's tears, rapture’s reverie my battle cry An overflowing Bragi's cup does supply
Though the thing will seek its reckoning I will not go, though Valhalla is beckoning for above all, I savor your fiery fervor
You have made me, your love-warrior Note- Love poetry was against the law. The prohibitions against love poetry help to explain why courtships were little practiced in the Viking period. While the goddess Freyja was the patroness of mansongar, and delighted in love poetry, mortal women had to be more cautious. Love poems were viewed in law as a distinct slur upon a woman's reputation, suggesting that the poet had had a more intimate knowledge of his beloved than was considered seemly (Foote and Wilson, p. 112). The reputation of a woman reflected upon the honor of her family: if her honor was tarnished, so was that of her father, brothers, uncles, cousins and sons. Any dalliance with a woman's reputation was likely to bring down the wrath of her entire lineage upon the hapless suitor!

Premium Member Old Fashioned Romance

Love, love, the old fashioned way

With courtships that lasted more than a day

This new modern age of total free love

Has its appeal but missing the hugs

It's straight to the bedroom on the very first date

Never a thought of perhaps we should wait

Back in the day we wanted a virgin

To experience together the joys of flirting

The coy little love words that promised the moon

Wishing so badly it happens real soon

Anticipation built up in our throbbing veins

Imagining that moment when passion reigns

Now it's “pleased to meet you, let's go to bed!”

Oh for the days of mystery instead

Thinking of when your union's complete

That moment when both are swept off their feet

That moment sublime lasts forever and ever

To happen today, the chance would be never

Of Venus

As stars reflect
the knowledge
of the sacred.

The boiling seas
of the Cosmos
churn acrid.

Upon the nurturance
of Venus', passionate
quivering calls
exclaimed.

The essence of
God's wrath
lovingly made tame.

As the chariots
of love, upon the
courtships of epic
virtue, possess.

Our goddess sisters,
import the specialty
of rule, for which
the governs
obsess.

As Boreas' trumpet
sounds ecstatic
bliss.

The Rosicrucian
passion bells
hither, a faint to
a swaying and
hiss.

As the murmuring
embers of the
divine left
receded.

Hour of humanities
no time of present,
so subtley,
defeated.

As upon death,
a mummy spreads
its rein.

The resurrection
of the Sons of Man,
all for not,
in vain.

The seduction of
fertility and the
mysteries left to
relish.

All made bitter
upon showers
of mourn,
to embellish.

When upon
the merry company
of our divine,
Saints, roused
along Lethe.

A brother to
you, oh dainty
beholder of truth,
as yours in
Seth.

The disillusionment
of our fathers
petty, immortal
opportunity
made solemn.

The wisest of
men, why,
amongst the
true, made golem.

Take precedence,
then and now,
where'st upon
your throne
of pride.

As the winds
of wrath swarnly
blown, our savior
side to side.

In due notion
a precedence
of time,
without respect.

A fulfillment
of God's love,
our souls to
resurrect.

As Dragons
drew the chariot
of night,
and profound
duration.

A cowards sword
in hand, his
skewer's elation.

As stars reflect
the knowledge
of the sacred.

Humanities, why. . .
derision for dole,
left shaken.

As prophets
emit, as seen
thus. . . .

When stars do
let fall
the Sun,
pray thee,
a heavenly Venus.

Premium Member Scent of Jasmine

As fair maidens begin to swoon
 courtships light love's passionate  fuse
And love becomes a flower in bloom

Hearts  become more enthused
 While lovers kiss under starry skies
 courtships light love's passionate  fuse

Scent of jasmine starts to rise
Like sweet perfume on moonlit nights
While lovers kiss under starry skies

 Their passions become pure delight
As hearts entwine with sweet desire
Like sweet perfume on moonlit nights

Burning passions set the velvet sky on fire
Lovers are absorbed with new sensations
As hearts entwine with sweet desire

Spring brings love's pleasant  vibrations
As fair maidens begin to swoon
Lovers are absorbed with new sensations
And love becomes a flower in bloom

The Nights Were Filled With Arguments

the nights were filled with arguments
new jersey had a new prostitute
spring and true love, drunken moments
soon mutable to the crashing of objects
against the walls, the doors
freedom thru defenestration
how was i supposed to read and write
i would bang on the wall
hey, Quasimodo, pax vobiscum, remember
mans sana in copre sano
this is heaven here on earth
try Occam's razor for god's sake
there would be a knock on the door
Quasi had returned my Beethoven's fifth
earphones, boom box
i loved his courtships
he used to walk, talk
and breathe his next conquest
the ones he could convince
to leave the profession
gifts in tow, he would stop by, well
you're irresistible Quasi
she hasn't a chance
need money, a few lines in Spanish
anything for a fellow kamikaze
it was worth the silence
i could hear him above my own roar
my only wish was to teach him
pick on the tourists, they leave
upon his victorious return, the inevitable
he would pull the bed back
far enough from the wall
to get the banging effect he needed
gave her hell didn't i, he would say
and the inevitable always brought the war
month, sometimes more, and they would
have found a new patron of the bottle art
but new jersey took one seriously
doing his life in Mexico
what is it like to love a woman to death
i don't care to know
what a horrible thought
it is much easier waving goodbye to buses
no jail time, no funeral expenses

Broken Ivory, the Beaten Elephant

BROKEN IVORY, THE BEATEN ELEPHANT

Gracia El Mundo
Of our breaths revival
That got stuck in strange jaws this while
Now it's a song, broken ivory, beaten elephant
Yesterday He was an Elephant- King
Giant legs to stand on
Big ears for all secrets
Big trunk to reach for food
I am a country on a verge
The walls of my edge near collapse
The wefts of my cloth easing
The warps of it's thread easing
A fabric of colour waning
A rag in wait of the remnants
That's a frailing nation
Coveted by hungry mouths
In marry from  quenched courtships
France at it once again
Playing the fiddle
Dancing the Belle Mon' Ami
What a country
Whats it's people
Innocent to their fate
One been greedy for the thirst
One been bathed in the light
So been played like African dolls.

On the Broken Old Oxcart

Words and knives remain of two accords;
Cuts and bruises poison our skins
As the sulphur in our words corrode our hearts;
Staples and stitches hold our parched hearts.
Every leaf browns at the feet of its mother
As every raging wave dies at the shore.
Laternless, a jading flame sits in my heart that never dies
Snow will fall white, birds will migrating south
Blood will run red, but this flame will burn blue.
Music and its blues speak to the soul
But love and its fingers touch the soul;
And the wands in my fingers change what they touch to gold.
When I fill the mellow of your palm with a bouquet
I know that stars are fireflies, millipedes are trains and ladies are butterflies.
For every endeavour rises its dust, every joy brings its tears,
Friendships are two-way streets
Courtships are metros of less travel
Matrimonies are roads of no ends
And us are beginnings of no end

Erosion of Love

Do you remember that time when just loving each other was the right fit:
Respect, honesty and mutual agreement made the relationship fully legit.
Now-a-days, relationships are of different types and ways of getting knit;
Monogamy died, producing Open, Complicated, and Friends with benefit.
Desires yearning more for sex, fun, and frolic – not mindful of commitment;
Relationships no longer based on mutual love, but on making a public statement.
Why have proper morals, values and principles of proper courtship depleted?
Is it because respect, honesty and love; selfishness has completely defeated?
Food for thought, a delicate matter on which to ponder; analytically wonder;
Since when was a person’s heart something to be uncaringly cast asunder?
We must! We must return to mutual respect, honesty and love in relationships;
It is still mutually beneficial before marriage to have friendships, then courtships.
It is still awesome to get to know, understand and appreciate your partner;
To be aware of tendencies and find grounds of compromise; in every matter.
It’s still important to be satisfied by your partner, and the ‘issue’ is not about sex;
To hold your peace and tactfully find amicable solutions, even when one is vex.
It’s still thoughtful to know the morals and value on which your partner stands;
Their dreams, and desires and on which part of your life they will make demands.
Simple tit-bits that many courting couples have regrettably taken for granted;
Their relevance is crucial to good relationships, and should not be discounted.
So listen to me, ladies and gentlemen this advice is truthful and fully sound;
Akin to a productively fruitful tree securely planted, in nutritious ground.
                                                                                     End
                                                                             By: Dion Penville

Scammed

We    have been cheated
         of watching the mist on the mountains
of the        every day joys
        living by waterfalls and mountain fountains
of nature in all of her
        majesty        in daily display
Civilization      has     broken
        a      pristine earth      in play
to live        in the system
        built of tar     and cement
the struggle for its money
        upon things     it is spent
My joy is where lakes
                        and their water lilies bloom
where the prickly       cactus   grows
              and changing seasons in each room
when the clouds        are  blown
              like feathers about in the wind
where our              considerations think
               left to men it will end
Will you miss the blue parrot
              neon yellow        chickadee
gone      the toad           golden
              likely too soon will the bee
the dance          of        courtships
              where        flocks       move to mate
as         the corporations          poisons
              their death             is its fate
So  many         dead zones
              now exist           in our seas
left to those who now govern
              the worlds     bounties       now seize
If you           expose          them
             you could           disappear
passed            executive           orders
             now     make       this law       clear

What's Love

What's Love

                            Love is an ever wanting feeling of infatuation;
                            Its sole purpose is desire's attraction.
                            The affection it master's is its romance;
                            For through times affair it gives one chance.

                            Even though love is a flirtatious desire;
                            Bringing one happiness through passions fire.
                            Yet from a gentle touch to a soft smile;
                            Holding that power to overcomes you for awhile.

                            Still love can bring a memory in times need;
                            For with courtships treasure and desire's need.
                            And with that and its captivating charm is most erotic;
                            Yet for the affection one tenderly is bewitching an angelic.
