Naked Subjugation
Last night I wandered past your total disregard
And walked forlorn
Stark insecurity amplified
Still I walked , my usual forebearance uncomplied

Upon furthermost the distance between us elongated
The sustenance of forgotten stores inside me generated
I was venerated - nay subjugated
Of these morsels congregated
And fed me through...

Premium Member One Lone Rose
One lone rose tumbled from the basket,
the same as the others but set apart
All were beautiful. They congregated
in one basket, these Southern belles,
but she, with her pink cheeks, tumbled,
she’d cut her ties. She loved them, indeed,
but not exclusively. No one was there
to hold her by...

Poetry River Run Free
Quietness upon the face,
Silence and loneliness,
Land before time,
Before living things existed,
Sadness as my waters ran through the earth,
Was my voice the only thing to be heard?
As I swelled and ebbed,
Swished back and forth,
Was I alone as I sadly moved?
Was my story over...

"Burnt Aqua"

I can taste the sun
on my tongue
it spills down
my throat
like burnt aqua
healing the beating frisson

I am ebony inside
shading in my shadow world
some somnolent soul
waking from slumber’s dream dance
a small death in life
questioning the reason in romance

dark suede and cat like
I wait...

Premium Member Star-Crossed Lovers
After many cold winters, they met again,
Under the poplar tree on a starry moonlit night.
Though they had planned it over many a time,
It came to fruition after such long lapse of years.

Once they loved as no lovers could ever
In devotion, never had they...

On the Prairie
On The Prairie

Congregated on the prairie western clear with beasts
Cowboy chews tobacco, swirls black liquid, spits
Projectile clean, target hit, lizard quick
Long tongued creature stunned
No time to snatch a timid bug
So much hungry love undone
Reptile rolls over rounded rock pin ball like
Looks both ways before crossing...

Unholy Thunderous Domination
Destroy thine own brother in abject apathy
taking up arms 'midst conquering expectancy,
invoking howls of contemptible thunder
neath skies' transparency beyond trepidation,
battles' plundering captures naught of stability
nor intervention from otherworldly gods
predisposed towards earthly universal unity,
persecuting soil's divinity neath aggregate exploits
incalculable hunger upon grounds' domination,
tears...

Tongue Waggers Sent To Coventry
Tongues loose, tongues in a hangman’s noose
Wag without care to declare nonsense
As wisdom salvaged from the sluice
Where nonsense whacked common sense

Lost in a sea of error whose terror
Harmed victims concealed by protagonists who opted to promote
The cult of nonsense whose defence mirror
Plunged into reverse...

A Life Well Lived

people could only wonder, at the smile upon his face
but they had not been where he had been, and behind that wrinkled...

Memories of a Zimbabwean Childhood
Long ago,the guinea fowls congregated
Clourfully and innumerably
And sang sweet songs
And played in the savanah
They sang for the for the antelopes
To leap and dance in the beautiful grass lands
The farm boys listened and danced too
And their hearts were merry

At night...

"canon service"

“We follow the rules here”, he said incorruptibly
like he was untainted as holy water
from the incorruptible font,
he had an upward inflection in his voice
at the end of every punctuated point,
delivered like a canon service
his gun and bullets were larger
apparently...he was high, the...

I was always taught that good news puts fat on the bones.
And I was taught by my strict Christian father
That before honor comes true humility.
I remember picking the Valencia’s one summer afternoon
And hearing him say
That the winners in life are the givers,
And...

The Rainbow Fable
He was a leprechaun who wore a silly shamrock hat
He incessantly counted golden coins by day, as he lazily sat
For a tiny fellow his belly had grown dangerously fat
He paid no mind, " Can you imagine that?"

One day a scant emaciated green colored lad...

A Dead Squirrel
A squirrel died on my front lawn.
I saw it fall,
As warm and round as an overripe peach.
I heard it land, like an olive dropped on hard wood,
splayed in a spot where passers-by
looked away on purpose.

Flies congregated,
brushed their legs against each other.

I canceled a dinner...
