Best Cobalt Poems
Down there, on the shell-coarse beach in a furnace of sand
The sea writhed and almost boiled at the shore,
Barefoot we walked, with her hand in my hand
No girl had ever driven me more.
She dry-licked her cherry lips and saltily smiled,
Solar flares bursting there in my chest,
The way she moved always drove me wild,
My eyes entranced by her shape in that dress.
The sun stamped in the sky like a chromium plate,
Dripped the colours of butter and steel,
And she stood there the most, the coolest hot date,
So radiant and still and surreal.
When she threw back her head as she lay on the grass
Liquid eyes burning silver and green,
With the parting of lips she gave me a free pass
And the world dissolved to aquamarine.
A teal twilight inks cobalt silhouettes
while distant stars unveil their twinkling lights.
And shadows slink forth, melding with the night,
as a setting Sun feigns a scarlet death.
Pink clouds cluster at the horizon's edge,
garnering shades of cerise and purple.
And daylight shrinks to a brindled aura,
reflected in rusty crystals of ice.
Dusk weeps dewdrops, yet grieves to no avail,
as darkness dims, the last lingering light.
And brisk breezes whisk heat away in gusts,
eerily chilling both body and soul.
Long skeletal fingers anchor the sky
to a lone tree rooted in ebony.
And a marshmallow moon appears snagged,
in the netting of its velcro branches.
Creatures of the dark stir from sleep's slumber;
in the wake of a slowly sinking Sun.
And where silence rules, sound bends to its will,
all but a cricket's haunting, piercing shrill.

midnight's darkness waits

Cobalt waters move
Glistening in God's sun light
Son looks down with love
Your soft blue eyes
My invaluable prize
Your rain blue sapphires
My hearts will, conspires
Your sacred wishing wells
My love found, in your spells
Your calming reflective storms
My emotions turn to you in swarms
Your lenses of perfect cerulean sight
My resistance, not given in the slight
Your diamonds in the planets of snow
My affections infinitude made to show
Your crystal filled orbs of cobalt & indigo
My dreams fulfilled by those you bestow
A cat sat on a buckaroo hat
A hat that was not a hat
but a Flying Fox bat,
A bat like a hat
that was not a bat
but a Spacecraft
from the planet Cobalt…
Can you just picture that?
This story is as simple as that,
A Spacecraft like a bat
Slick, smooth and flat
with a cockpit and all that
and a cat from the planet cobalt
in an outer space, as far as that…
There’s more to it than that.
While chasing an alien Rogue Rat
in and around the galaxy and all that,
Cat Cobalt in the outer space got lost
in the rat’s extraterrestrial habitat…
Now, what’s up with that?
Here and there, with this and that
From beyond yonder just like that
Poor Cat Cobalt on our Earth fell flat,
No ceremony and no welcoming mat…
Oh, who would ever want that?
To get back home this resilient cat
with one purpose alone and that’s that
He rebuilds the broken Spacecraft
with the help of one domestic cat
and goes back home to Planet Cobalt
Now no one knows where it’s at…
This ends the tale of the Cobalt cat!

Cobalt Colors
Cobalt glass fragile figurines and vases
line my sun filled window shelf.
Morning sun reflects through prisms
of calming, soothing blue hues
Penetrating deeply into my body,
uplifting my spirit to ethereal heights.
Tensions of an overwhelming day
waste blissfully and serenely away.
Bird songs blend their pleasing melodies
with harmonies in soft chirping choir.
My senses swoon in Nature's bloom
and all is aglow in my euphoric room.
Auric colors change in this lavish light...
transcending physical into spiritual realms.

Syllable count as in the contest rules..
cobalt blue clouds hang
barely illuminated..
summer's full moon shines
under the boardwalk
my love kisses tenderly...
rain drips through small cracks
Love the pictures
Thanks for the challenge, P.D

Entwined with sun's shine

How dare the sky have the audacity
To be so blue
So clear, so cloudless on the horizon
On a day like this
I’m just so angry, darling
Angry like slashing the bottle open into a too full shot glass
And chug it until it burns, until it burns like
When they slam my poetry against the wall
What the hell are these
Wordos
Doing here, in this poem, it’s supposed to be fantastic
But all you write is garbage
And expect it to stick
Angry like my mother
Angry like what the hell am I supposed to say
In this way, I consider myself religious
Tell me who I have to be
To earn some sort of Beethoven-istic seclusion of the mentally insane
Like Moonlight Sonata-ish dwelling peace of mind
Like the dun dun dun dunnn of the 5th Symphony’s opening lines
I’m just spilling out meaningless ideas now but
It would be nice to be myself at some point in time
It seems on these kind of days I barely understand myself
Estrogen driven resentment tearing at a velocity at that is quite
Beyond me at this moment as they stare at my hands
Gripping my already frozen cup of green tea
Tell me who I have to be
To be able to fit into these heels two sizes too big
To be able to please myself when I look into a parallel
Manifestation of this girl I used to know
Back in the day when Hip-Hop was free and I was madly in love
With the sky so cobalt blue.
Bluey black, clouds and waves
Dark shades, shadow the nightfall
The cobalt coastline
