Notes About The Poem

Cobalt Colors

Cobalt Colors

Cobalt glass fragile figurines and vases
line my sun filled window shelf.
Morning sun reflects through prisms
     of calming, soothing blue hues
Penetrating deeply into my body,
uplifting my spirit to ethereal heights.

Tensions of an overwhelming day
     waste blissfully and serenely away.
Bird songs blend their pleasing melodies
with harmonies in soft chirping choir.
My senses swoon in Nature's bloom
and all is aglow in my euphoric room.
Auric colors change in this lavish light...
      transcending physical into spiritual realms.

Connie, just came to this one again to tell you thanks for your recent comments. There are 9 contests I hope to write for, but I have so many grades to get to with my classes, housework, etc. Geez, it must be nice to be retired!!!

Haha! It is what I thought Andrea. I feel like I am busier now than I ever was when I was flying. I think it is because when I was jetlagged I had days off to rest. Now I kind of feel overwhelmed by shopping and running errands caring for my granddaughter etc. you will see, when you retire how busy you will still be. : )

You put a lot of thought into this piece. The benifit of solitude is that it leads to artistic expression like this.

Welcome back, Connie:) I hope rehabilitation is having the desired effect. I have recovered well after my fall and the deep gash in my arm is healing well. ~ This is a very lovely poem, and I am not surprised it ended high on the winners' list! Thank you for the aura info...very informative. Best regards // paul

The poem alone is a weave of tranquility, Connie. Each line is smooth and peacefully, gracefully flows. It touched me, and it is a touch I'd like to keep. (the mail person keeps leaving your pack in my mailbox - tomorrow I'll go to the post office, find out why). Beautiful writing. Poetry hugs ... CayCay
